For the past six years Tonie has taken my hair care from coloring, cut, style and deep conditioning to the next level. I’ve never thought there could be an improvement from the previous services, but Tonie always has a great plan and implement excellent services! I always feel refreshed and polished walking out of his salon!!! He is respected and cared for by me not only for his talent and laborious hours he has cared for my hair but he is a joy to be around!!!

Tonie’s salon is in a new location. His new space is now located inside Sola by Japantown in San Jose. Ive been going to Tonie for the past two years now, and this review is actually overdue. Tonie is a hair god - he can bring your dead, lifeless hair back to life! He doesnt simply cut hair - he really tailors the style to best suit the shape of your head and face, your hair texture, and your lifestyle. His rates are comparable to well-established salons in the area, but you get a more personable experience. His salon is very clean and has ample parking adjacent to the building. He only takes in one client at a time with spaced appointments. You are not thrown into a mix of several other people, unlike in most other salons. This makes me feel safer during the pandemic. The building is also locked and only clients with appointments can enter, so youre sure that no random people are walking in and out. I highly recommend Tonies salon if youre looking for a great cut/style in a safe and clean environment. (He also does waxing; will try it next time!)

I am very picky with whoever fix my hair. I went to yelp and found this wonderful human being. I went and told myself i have no expectations let me just go in and the reviews were great! Tonie responds fast to my text messages and my inquiry. I came at 10:00 am and i was welcomed with a warm greeting from Tonie. I immediately got along with him, i never felt any awkwardness because all we did is laugh and talk about life and random stuff. I felt like i was just talking to my bestfriends. I would recommend him to everyone i know. I have a stubborn asian hair, black hair, coarse and thick. But Tonie had the patience to work with my hair and was very tedious and caring. My hair is very healthy my concern was it being brittle or dry after but Tonie made sure my hair integrity is intact even after all those bleaching. He is the most patient, kind and nicest artist i have ever met. 10 hours but it was a great experience over all!!! Can’t wait to get my next appointment for the best hair color ever. My hair turned out amazing! I can’t believe how healthy it still looked! My family is also loving it!
