I stopped in to get some ideas on how to reset my engagement ring that was set too high. Rich suggested modest changes to start with before pursuing a full redesign. His idea worked and I love how it fits and sits on my finger. I highly recommend Richs expertise and honesty.

I can’t say enough about this jewelry store. I grew up coming to the shop with my parents and would always love seeing the blue boxes for special events. When my now husband and I got engaged we knew we wanted to use his moms wedding band for our bands. We flew in from chicago and ran the idea past rich. He was open and honest and didn’t over promise anything. He kept us in the loop throughout the entire process and his excitement was infectious. Rich worked with my fiancé and me to create a custom engagement ring. We had some stones from old family pieces and did some sketches on our own before our meeting. Rich was open to all of our ideas and added his expertise to improve upon our vision for the ring.After the sketching stage, they created a wax prototype of the ring with our stones so that we could get a better idea how it would look before approving the design. Honestly, the wax ring was so beautiful I almost wanted to just take it home and be done with it! We made some small changes and received the final ring 1-2 weeks later.The whole process was efficient, fun, and collaborative. It took about 3 weeks from start to finish. Rich was great to work with -- extremely knowledgeable, and communicative over text. I had some quirky preferences and dislikes he had to work around, but he made sure it was exactly how I wanted, and even more beautiful. The price was also very reasonable and we were able to trade in some old jewelry to bring down the price. I cannot say enough good things about Rich! Talk about personal service. He helped me engrave a stainless steel cocktail shaker for my husband (apparently this is a very difficult thing to do). Not only did he figure out how to get it engraved, but he also hand delivered it to my house! I am so happy I found this jewelry store, it is now my go to for gifts!

I have been fortunate enough to have purchased previous pieces from him, but the best experience by far was his help designing and constructing a custom engagement ring I used to propose with in this past October. If my mother opened up a jewelry store I would still go to these guys. Rich is a guy who you can tell found his calling in life and is great at what he does. The best part about the experience (for me) was how easy they made it for us. He was insanely knowledgeable, worked with us via text message (I challenge you to find a jeweler who isnt still using his fax machine to communicate) and actually came into the Manhattan on the day I was proposing to hand deliver the ring to me. 5 stars, if google adds a 6th star Ill come back and add it.

I have gone to Lorensons for last fifteen years. They are my go-to for graduation, birthday and wedding gifts. Great service and knowledgeable staff. I also just recently had a family diamond reset in an updated setting. It looks great and I was very pleased with how it turned out.

The service we got at Schroth & Lorenson was exceptional! I needed to have my rings resized after breaking my finger and Rich made sure it was done very quickly (even over the Christmas holidays) as I was traveling back to Europe. They also resized another ring in one day. Wendy was very helpful and everyone in the shop is friendly and accommodating. Shop local-I highly recommend this jeweler!

Of course we were scrambling [our fault!]... We needed these really cool steampunk cufflinks engraved- in 2 days. I called about 7 different jewelers and no one was even really willing to work with me, understandable being the amount of time we had left ourselves. I called Rich at Schroth & Lorenson and he was amazing!!! Asked me questions, had me text him pictures so he could take a look without me driving down! Within an hour I was dropping them off and the VERY NEXT DAY he called [and texted a picture!] saying they were ready to be picked up. Rich is AWESOME!
