I havent even got my rental yet and im leaving the worst review possible. My rental has been booked for 12 days and Im still waiting for it. They tell me they have no cars on the lot at all and they cant help me until they get one but they were more than happy to take the money for the reservation. Its been 12 DAYS!!! They Dont answer the phone and when they do, theyre rude. Like theyre mad your calling. they offer NO help whatsoever. I had someone go check for me and I was told there were cars in their lot. I call and get sent to a busy signal after the first 2 times they dont pick up. Worst experience ever. Will never use this location again and Im now trying to cancel my reservation but they wont answer the phone
Id give them a zero star if I could. They choose to participate in the third party rental sites but refuse to honor those reservations. I only found out because I called them to make sure there would be no issues, the response was basically, well, sucks for you but you went through Priceline so oh well...
They have better vehicles not simply a base model… I’m sticking with Hertz!
If I could give them zero or even negative stars, I would. I was already unimpressed with the pickup process because they tacked on all kinds of unexplained and undisclosed fees and deposits at pickup, so I had to pay or theyd still keep $200 for canceling. I was hoping the return would be better, but it was somehow worse. Nemo, the employee that I returned the vehicle to, also went to check the mileage on the vehicle and spent 5 minutes in the parking lot talking to friends before coming back in to charge me yet another fee that hadnt been disclosed ahead of time. I could see this from the office and could not believe the blatant unprofessionalism. His manager, Michael, hid in the office on both my visits and did not attempt to help or explain anything in any way, though I know he could hear me because I could hear him coughing and shuffling things around. Ive rented from here before without these problems but itll be the last time after this and Id suggest if youre reading this that you take your money elsewhere too.
Yall do not EVER rent a car from Hertz in Summerville off of Bacons Bridge Road.They don’t answer the phone, they don’t have anyone in office 90% of the time, they ignore the information that insurance provides, they will charge you “any amount they feel necessary to ensure payment at any time without notification”, they rent out cars that are missing mirrors or have not been properly cleaned inside to where you find paraphernalia in it, they don’t maintain the vehicles with proper alignment or windshield wipers, you have to call another location to get any sort of information regarding payment or return, they will charge you for every fee or tax that they can possibly put out of thin air... and there is 1,000 more things to say about them .. They also charge you the full amount twice, claim they will refund it in 30 days and then NEVER refund it . They just dodge your calls and claim they dont have the information anymore after 30 days.But like fr dont rent from them. It will be the biggest mistake and headache youll ever have to deal with.However, Hertz in West Ashley is AWESOME !

Worst place i have ever rented the manager Micheal to get out of his office..BEWARE of this place KEEP AWAy. Not worth a star !!!!# to pick up the minivan and was told i didnt have a reservation, gave all my infomation and was told again no rezervation then was told they have no vehiclesby
Constant problems with this location. One person working out front leads to long waits. Had to wait over an hour and over 30 mins to get my vehicle. Vehicles always seem to be in poor condition and smoked in. If you value your time and your sanity go elsewhere.
My insurance company arranged a car rental with Hertz on Bacons Bridge Rd and last night, I got in the car and saw roaches crawling everywhere. I made photos and called first thing this morning for a replacement. The manager told me there was nothing available and I’d have to wait until Monday. I then called my insurance company and arranged to get a rental from Enterprise and had to drive the car to Hertz. I took in the contract and told them to cancel it immediately so I could get the other car. I had to walk to Enterprise; meanwhile Hertz has yet to cancel the contract so fortunately my insurance worked it out with Enterprise. The manager at Hertz told me he had driven the car himself last week and didn’t see roaches. I offered to show the pictures to him, but he just turned and walked away. That is unprofessional and acceptable service!
They do not support military at this establishment. Make sure to avoid if you are active duty. Spouse is on deployment and they will not accept a credit card with spouses name on military ID.
Don’t even waste your time this place is trash and unprofessional!
We had a fantastic customer service experience with Nemo. He was highly professional, polite and intelligent. He offered us the most effective and efficient deal while acting in the upmost respect. I highly recommend this location because of this employee. I will return because of him.
Nice car. Had some ants in it. And the keyfob was broken. Smooth riding bmw. Customer service was pretty solid. They could have offered to refund me a bit because of afforementioned issues.
Do not ever place a reservation with this unit, they simply dont have any cars, and if you did a prepaid online reservation they make you go thru all the information same as a new res. Only to tell you what dont have.
They let me book an appointment for a rental but when I got there they had none 👎🏾
This was by far the easiest car rental experience! They worked directly with my insurance and upgraded my car for a fraction of their competitors price. They were fast, had the car I wanted in the lot and even let me turn the car in earlier than I originally planned with no issues. They have definitely earned by business.

Misleading info from call center. Due to Dorian and uncertainty of flights, my son rented a car and drove home, cross country. Car was great, no issues at all. His rental was over at 3pm yesterday. He called to get their hours and the call center told him regular hours and that she had no notices of weather issues or closures. He made it by 3, just barely, and they were locked up tight due to the storm. Need better communication with local offices.
Tell me how a car rental place has no cars to rent, even when you let them know 3 weeks in advance when you are coming
I reserved a car and as soon as I entered the store I was waited on. Everything was handled quickly and professionally. Jay went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed and was very patient with all of my questions. The only thing was I was not aware that if you have the vehicle for more that 4 days it charges you more daily (which I would think a weekly rate would be at a lower price). But overall i had a good experience renting here.
DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! Worse experience ever! I made a reservation online for a large SUV to be picked up at 9 am. We were taking relatives to the airport and our car wouldnt fit everybody plus 4 suitcases. When we got there we were told they were sorry but the car would only be available after 11. I told them that wouldnt work for us because they would miss their flight but the representative just told us Im sorry, theres nothing I can do. We did find a way to take them to the airport but I will never EVER rent a car from Hertz again. BTW never had any problem with Enterprise. I tried Hertz for the first time because is closer to where we live now but I will drive few more miles next time I need to rent a car. You suck Hertz! I wish I could give 0 stars.
Was supposed to get a full size SUV rental car Jay guaranteed me they would have it in I spoke with him a week in advance...yesterday was the day to get my rental car from Hertz Summerville SC Bacons Bridge Road they would shuttle me from body shop to their location and I would be on my way... Jay told me yesterday morning that he did not have me a full size SUV he would put me in a mini van when I didnt agree to that he then told me that he would call me back in 15 minutes ... as of this very minute I have not heard from him yet... I immediately called Enterprise on Main Street and they stepped up to the plate gave me a full size car and wonderful service...as far as Hertz goes I would still be waiting on my shuttle car. If I could give them a zero I would, dont waste your time or money...

I will NEVER recommend Hertz to ANYONE. This office doesnt represent their brand well at all!! The manager sleeps on the clock and doesnt speak with customers. The reps in that office are horrible (Jay/Ron).. If youre looking forward to a great customer experience this IS NOT the place for you. Spend your money elsewhere!

People there are nice, but I spoke with Ronald a month ago and asked for a Camry or the equivalent. Im driving a Versa. Very dissapointed. Do not plan to deal with them again.
First all of them are talking on the phone helping customers, but when it was my time the lady asked the guy sitting down if he needed help while I was standing at the counter the whole time! Then the car was not ready when I had a reservation for 8AM pick up time because the lady needed to clean up the car! It is now 9:30AM. Just crazy how they handle the person on the phone and not the person in front of them first, when I was first in line before the call. The black guy was on the phone the whole time and then magically when his family walks in he is done with the call.
Not happy! The whole trip: wipers sucked and oil change message popped every time you turned on the car, and it did not get 28+mpg or have as much room in the trunk for luggage as advertised. I dont recommend renting large vehicles from here. Also, they do more than 1 pre auth on your card.
This was the worst experience ever the employee Jay was very nasty they started taking money out my account while I still had the rental I was calling for over a week and he couldn’t tell me why. My insurance company which is State Farm was also surprised they was taking money and I still had the car also surprised because they extended the time with my vehicle.Jay said things to me like I am only here for a check and to pay my bills ...Don’t you have something better to do rather than to worry about thisAfter returning the car he was still nasty to me the State Farm rep that I had on speaker phone was very shocked and surprised at what he was saying and file her own complaintUse another Hertz if it has to be this company because this location don’t give a damn!!!
They did great for me and my wife we had a trip from Charleston SC to St Louis MO, had a nice brand new Nissan Rogue and the customer service was great.
Just discovered that the Avalon given to us while our Volvo is being repaired is leaking oil badly onto our driveway!!!Front bumper is loose as well...
My wife reserved a car on Tuesday to pick up on Thursday afternoon at 6. She asked for a compact and they made the reservation. When she got there they had rented out the small car and made her pay $20 more a day for a car that was way to big for her. But she she had to have the car for a trip so she was stuck taking it. The girl Kristen said she would discount the insurance but the bill shows charges for the insurance so she lied. Which doesnt make since that she would lie because my wife wanted the insuranse and was prepared to pay for it. Kisten made it sound like she was doing something special for her and it was a ruse. Never again.

Ins. told me to go to the savanah hwy Hertz, complete disaster. Rude, never go n back to that store again ! Actedblike they were do n me a favor by let n me n the door, took customers n front of me like i was transparent, another customer said he was hung up on after b n on the phone w hertz for 25 min. On a finer note was sent to the trolley rd. Hertz, much better experience. Hats off to this store. My 5 star is for summerville store. Didnt know how to subtract stars for savanah hwy store rating !
