I live out in Walterboro and I have been looking for a good contractor to remodel my house. I saw that Reality Construction has as of June 2021 a 4.8 Star review ---which is almost unheard of for a contruction contractor. (The reason is that usually construction companies can be judged by a bad subcontractor whom the main contractor has less control over than their own employees. )I saw that there was a 1 star review so of course I wanted to see what the problem was. As a person who owns my own business and relies on the Google 5 Star Review format for my own business I was more than annoyed that Google allowed a review which knocked this company for not travelling 15 miles out of Summerville. That is a cheap shot affecting the rating of this business having NOTHING to do with the level of service or quality of this company. If you take out that 1 Star ridiculous and unfair complaint then IMO this company should be getting a solid 5 STAR. So I am giving this company a 5 Star for professionalism since the owner actually responded to the absurd complaint in a measured and mannered way.

We had extensive water damage from a broken toilet tank. We were referred to Jennings by Disaster Plus. I spoke with a few contractors before I spoke with Jennings. From the time I got on the phone with Jennings I cant describe to you the RELIEF that I felt! Jennings explained to me thoroughly how the process worked and what I needed to do. I had every confidence he would help us. He dealt with my homeowners insurance to get us the amount we needed to fix the situation.Daniel, our project manager, worked with us to sort out the repairs. Once we got going repairs were completed in a timely fashion. Everyone was prompt, kind, considerate and careful. The repairs are beautiful!We love the new look of our home. The quality of workmanship is excellent.When its time to redo the deck we will call Jennings!

Jennings Smith and Realty Construction did a wonderful complete renovation of my kitchen and master bathroom! They were professional, on time, and easy to access for any questions! They listened attentively to my wishes and made them happen! Jennings was always within reach if I had a question. Realty Construction has my full support, and I can recommend them with confidence to do a job properly and quickly!

I have just had a complete kitchen renovation done by Reality Construction. They did a wonderful job and this is a great company. They offered a detailed proposal with all pricing details up front. All selections for the kitchen and pricing was offered online for my approval, so there were no financial surprises. Martin, my project manager was delightful. He called a couple of times weekly to give updates and see if I needed anything. All of my requests were fullfilled. The cabinetry was adjusted, as I requested, to a different color and the cabinet company was terrific. I love the new kitchen in my home and I highly suggest using Reality Construction if you are looking for a good company to complete a project.

The Reality guys were outstanding. The were one of the only ones to call us back. The were on time for every appointment. I did not have a bad interaction with them. They were finished on time, and consulted with us on any changes that need to be made. I will use them again in the future.

Reality Construction revamped my new office space and I love how it turned out! They were cost effective, professional, and very reliable. I enjoyed working with everyone on this project and will continue to use their services for any future projects, whether it be for home or office. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I called Reality Construction because of significant water damage to walls and floors in my mothers house caused by a malfunction in the upstairs air conditioner. Jennings responded quickly, coming over to prepare a detailed estimate of what it would cost to repair the damage. When I sent his estimate to the State Farm representative, she commented that it was the most professional detailed estimate she had ever received and was quick to authorize the repair. When the Reality Construction crew was finished, the walls and floors that had been damaged looked like new. We were very pleased with the results and highly recommend this company.

Reality typically does very large projects, but Ive found them to be very cool about working with me on smaller projects with smaller budgets. Reality has never made much money off of me, but Ive found them to be very trustworthy and generous consulting with me on the two bath remodels weve done. Good people.

Jennings and his team were very professional and provided quality results in finishing a studio apartment. They were quick to respond to our request and provided a very reasonable quote. Two months after they finished, Jennings never hesitated to help when I called for advice while installing a shower fixture. That is customer service! Id highly recommend Reality Construction.

We had Jennings and his crew take out a couple of walls and install some windows. As expected with a nearly 200 yr old house, there were unforeseen issues. Each situation was handled smoothly and well. I have complete confidence in their skill and knowledge, including with older homes. It was an amazingly stress-free and pleasant work environment. Every worker was prompt, extremely polite, thorough and anxious to please. They strived to leave minimal clutter when departing.Also, Reality Construction quotes are very reasonable, and Jennings even reduced his final bill a substantial amount because the job turned out to be easier than expected!!! We will definitely use Reality Construction in the future!

We had a deck at the back of our house that was open to the elements and was unusable most of the year. We wanted it covered with a roof that would attach to our house. The deck was in the “L” of the house and there was a unique problem in that the roof over the deck would intersect three other roof lines. We contacted five contractors to get an estimate for the work. Of the five contractors only three came out to scope the job. One we never heard from. One presented an estimate that planned for only part of the porch being covered (that roof line problem).Jennings Smith of Reality Construction was the only contractor who indicated he could do the job and presented an estimate and plan for joining the roof lines. The estimate included replacing the old deck surface and building the remaining porch features to match the other architectural features of the house. Jennings was able to tie the new roof line into the exiting house making it look like it was part of the original house plan.We are extremely pleased with our new porch and spend many hours enjoying the space.Danny and Mary HughesSummerville

Exceptional on site supervision with excellent subcontractors. Work progressed as scheduled upfront and completed on time. The project included hall with utility area, master bathroom, master bedroom and foyer to exterior door.

It was a pleasure for me to work with Reality Construction. Although we had well drawn up plans, there was detail work inside that existed only in my head. Our project manager, Mark, always took the time to work with me, sketch things out and try and turn my imaginings into reality! Jennings and his team have done several projects for us over recent years, including creating a grilling area in our courtyard, wainscoting our stairwell, replacing exterior trim on our front bay and windows, and replacing custom spindles on our front porch railing. Most recently his team performed structural repairs and installed an interior support column to resolve a sagging ceiling in my mothers home. On all of these projects he and his workers were cooperative, friendly, neat, orderly and exhibited great craftsmanship. Even the subcontractors he used for repairing sheetrock and painting were top-notch going out of their way to minimize disruption, contain the dust and debris normally associated with this type of work, and keep the work area exceptionally clean ad the house livable.My wife and I have found not only Jennings but his entire crew trustworthy and dependable and plan to continue to use them in the future as needed. We have in the past and do not hesitate to recommend them to our friends and neighbors for projects of any size or scope.

Jennings and his crew were great! We had water damage from a leaky toilet which required removing old tile, the old toilet and addressing damage to the floor. They were professional, on time, did excellent work and cleaned up the work area completely. Jennings scheduled the work to allow the painter to remove old wallpaper and repaint prior to the laying tile and replacing the toilet. They also replaced damaged screening on an upstairs porch and replaced cracked window panes. I would definetely hire them again.

Reality Construction is a very professional and conscientious company. They did an excellent job renovating our home and my wife and I could not be more pleased.
