Our experience with Dr. David Samuels of DPS Health and Wellness has been awesome. The name says it all. He is very interested in your mental health and wellness and wants you to enjoy your best life! The virtual or phone visits are awesome. He develops a plan of prescriptions and develops a time line of appointments to check back in with you! I cannot say enough good words about this doctor. He is upbeat in his talks with you! He can help you with anxiety, feeling down and depressed, bipolar etc. Call and get your appointment. Start enjoying your best life with his help but do some things to help yourself also. Get outside, enjoy the sunshine and get some exercise! Think positive thoughts and start enjoying life again. He has a beautiful office located on Lester Road and has a wonderful office staff with three other providers who work together as a team to help you! Don’t wait to make that call! So far so good! Only been my first appointment and I feel that all of my concerns were addressed and my opinion was appreciated and considered when we made a decision on a game plan & treatment.

Simply the best! The staff and Dr Samuels are the pinnacle of me getting better. Mrs. Wanda has pulled me out of the fire too many times to count, especially when it comes to my local pharmacy. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.The office girls are RUDE and so unprofessional.I loved Holly. But because I missed her call for my appointment I’m being charged $100. Note that I called her RIGHT back multiple times and never got an answer. Left multiple messages too. So now I am out of my meds and being a single mom it’s rough.Once again the OFFICE “girls” are HORRIBLE!!!!I will NEVER use these people again.

I have had a great experience with DPS Health & Wellness. Dr. Samuels is a great psychiatrist and really cares about his patients. Holly Hollis is a nurse practitioner at the practice that I have seen as well, and she is amazing! The office staff are also very helpful and kind. Highly recommend this practice!

As a patient from 2017-2021.I would of recommend them a few yrs. ago. But, after my last yr. there. I can no longer say that. There was a breach of confidentiality. Which turned into a gossip session. As, I knew it would, but sometimes, you have to test things. To get your own answer...as I knew that it would become the topic of the day.I did want to talk to Dr. Samuels about important issues, as it is pertinent.Unfortunately, I have decided to write a review.Nice artwork, in office.There lacks professional standards now.Medications are never called in in a timely manner.The front desk has declined in client services.There is a large turn over in staff.The contract you sign, beware...of all the hidden cost$$$$$$$$$$$$!All, the hidden, late fees, fees for everything.They made me wait all day for an appointment, as if I missed it... I would be charged 150.00$, and no appointments until paid, or meds.So, I guess they enjoyed telling me at the time of my appointment,,it had been canceled .As, I waited and waited. I called three times....As, they did not have the common sense, to pick up the phone and call....Actually, looking back, I think they were just abusive. They seemed to of relished, instead of being professional, in any way..So, I don’t feel I can say, I would have confidence there any longer.

He assured me we would get this under control and that if I need anything to just call his office. I have been a patient of Dr. David Samuels for years. He was also my son’s doctor over 15 years ago. I wouldn’t think of trusting any other psychiatrist with our mental health needs. He and his office staff have always provided my family with the best possible care.Dr. Samuels is kind, compassionate, and trustworthy. He is top notch at what he does. During the recent pandemic I have been making use of teletherapy options. Dr. Samuels is ALWAYS on time (usually a few minutes early) with his calls. These visits over the phone have made my check-ups so much easier by saving me an hour trip (both ways) for each visit.I feel like I am at a good place in my life, and I know that Dr. Samuels has cared enough about me to help me not only get there but stay there as well. 😁

I am very blessed i was able to find Dr Samuels after almost 2 years of failed attempts in the Savannah area. I learnt about him from one of his patients and didnt mind having to drive 45 mins just to see him. First thing i remember from our first sessions: his empathy and willingness to spend time listening to my life story. Over the years i have experienced his excellent listening skills, his compassionate care, his ability in making analytical connections and practical applications of theory. He commands respect in the profession in a very humble way. His breadth of knowledge is impressive and, it is evident he keeps abreast of the latest developments in the field. I have always felt he demonstrates genuine concern for my overall well-being, keeps me involved in the decision making process about my continued mental care and, -what some patients may not like- he is ready to challenge me whenever i might need it. I am very grateful he is my Psychiatrist.

As medical professional myself and an aspiring pharmacist currently enrolled full time into pharmacy school it pains me to write this review. I would like to start by stating it took a lot in me to swallow my pride and seek professional assistance with improving my mental health. With that being said, I believed this office would be an exceptional option. I have been proven time and time again that I was wrong. The front desk staff are extremely cold, rude, and dismissive. I’ve called on numerous actions, some being due to the fact that my provider at the time chose to give my scheduled appointment to someone else AND failed to follow up with me at the EOD as I was promised. This prompted me request a new provider who I felt would be compassionate and understanding of me as a patient. Although my sessions went well I faced a dilemma where my medications were stolen by an unknown suspect. I was advised to make a police report, however I have no idea who stole my medications, no description or name or whereabouts of the individual so the police report would be of no help. I’ve explained this numerous times in panic and frustration to the MA who showed no compassion. When I asked to speak with a provider I was told no. And when I demanded to speak with Dr. Samuels, the owner of the establishment regarding the profiling, mistreatment, and lack of care I’ve been shown thus far 1. The front desk staff abruptly hung up on me. 2. The MA told me verbatim, it is up to Dr. Samuel’s discretion on if he chooses to call me or not. I have been employed in numerous clinics, nursing homes, and hospitals as a nurse and MA I have NEVER heard of a staff member especially within a mental health facility that the owner may or may not call the patient back to address their concerns. I understand there are policies and protocols to every office, however there is also a reason as to why there are pharmacy overrides. I would also like to add that I have been prescribed three different controlled substances and not once prior to prescribing was I told to take a drug a screening in order to receive the medications. They were all called into my pharmacy and ready for immediate pick up. Now that I am requesting assistance with a emergency refill due to a situation out of my control the staff, including the MA, are suddenly stating that I need a drug screening before my next fill, which has already been called into the pharmacy by the way. This is profiling, patient shaming, and makes me feel that there was no point in seeking help at all due to the fact that I am constantly spoken down to, yelled at, treated as a hassle, and profiled as an addict or individual with an addiction history. I would also like to add that per request of DPS I received a letter from my Psychologist sent directly to my provider and the general office mail clearly stating and confirming that I have no addiction issues or history of an addiction or abuse. There is absolutely no reason to be dismissed as a patient time and time again, refused an emergency refill, ignored when requested to have my medications transferred to my preferred pharmacy, and again spoke to in a demeaning way. I hope the owner or a prospective patient sees this. Again I am heartbroken and sadden to even have to write this review. But, I feel I am unheard by the staff.And FOR THE RECORD I read all provided documents upon establishing as a new patient in fact I even called with questions prior to booking my appointment. However the staff today repeatedly rudely and made a snarky statement “well if you would’ve read your paper work...” I did and maybe you all should too so that you have more compassion for your patients, better patient/customer service, less of a poor attitude, and are able to follow your own protocols efficiently. That is my advice to your very insulting, cruel staff.

I’ve been with DPS several years. Dr. Samuels is great and the Therapists are pretty good. However, the women at the front desk are much to be desired. They are very rude and about the most unfriendly people I have ever seen. I will say a woman named Casey(I think that’s her name), Is very sweet, kind and helpful. My name is Beverly, and if It wasn’t for Dr Samuel and Casey!!!!

These are good folks. They got me on the right track.

Recommended. I have to drive 45 minutes to an hour to get here. It’s worth it, since my insurance couldn’t offer a closer location . I haven’t met the psychiatrist yet, however, my nurse practitioner is impressive. Ms. Hall is knowledgeable and great at what she does. She has a vast amount of experience and is able to bring all that to bear to her clients. The front desk staff is friendly and appear to enjoy their work. I highly recommend this app wellness center.

I LOVE THIS OFFICE!! I have been going here for quite some time now & was extremely nervous when I was told they were only doing Teletherapy at this time. I am not the most tech savy person but when I asked for help they kindly told me to come to the parking lot & a staff member would help me. When I arrived I called the office letting them know I was there, shortly after a young lady came out wearing a mask & helped me set up the tele therapy on my phone!!! They are always so helpful & understanding! They make me feel welcomed & honestly one of the best offices I’ve ever been too! If your looking for a great office with lovely staff & amazing doctors this is the place to go!!! I fully recommend!!

I have been with DPS for several years. Things seemed to change drastically after they moved to the new location although I don’t know why that would be. The office staff are typically rude and unhelpful. You’re given the impression that you’re bothering them by asking questions or asking them to do anything. I had a medication appointment scheduled online as in person visits were not being offered due to COVID. I took half a day off work for this. I kept checking my email for the link and it never showed up. I called a couple times and nobody answered. It went to the check out voicemail. About 15 minutes past my appointment time, I finally got somebody on the phone. She said the provider was running behind and to continue waiting. Fine. About 45 minutes past appointment time, I call again and again get voicemail. Still no email. After an hour and a half, I said screw it. I called the next morning to set up a new appointment and was told I would have to pay a $100 missed appointment fee because the provider put in a note stating she had signed into the online meeting. Maybe she did but since I didn’t have a link, I couldn’t. I explained that I would not paying that and why and they wouldn’t schedule another appointment. I asked for someone in billing or a supervisor to call me back to discuss it further. That never did happen. Still hasn’t happened. I changed providers and went on with my life. Then I received a bill for the $100. So this time, I sent an email explaining the situation and again asked for someone to contact me to discuss it. Still no response. All of this began several months ago and they’ve made absolutely zero effort to fix the problem.My teen daughter also receives medications and therapy here. She seems to really like her therapist. But the medication provider is a different story. They increased her medication and she was having some significant issues. She called and explained and they offered her an appointment for a month later. That was the earliest they could give her even knowing she was having serious issues. She ended up being in a crisis intervention unit for 7 days where they said the high dosage of this medication could cause these issues. They began tapering it down. The therapist at the crisis intervention unit reached out to DPS to request that Dr Samuels himself see my daughter for medications as she feels the other provider didn’t listen or take her seriously when she said the higher dose was causing her problems. The first appointment they could get her at all was a month away, even knowing she was just coming out of a crisis intervention unit. AND that appointment is with the provider that she doesn’t trust because Dr Samuels couldn’t see her until 2-2.5 months out.I personally wouldn’t recommend this place as their lack of attention and lack of response and concern could prove to be really dangerous.

Went to DPS Wellness for my first time. I am so happy I did! Great service all the way around. They really helped me and I look forward to going back. Great welcoming atmosphere. Comfortable setting. I love Mrs. Katherine Hall.

Working in customer service and in the front office at a doctors office is not always easy and I have personally watched the office staff at DPS deal with difficult patients on a couple of different occasions while in office. It was handled to the best of their ability and professionally, all while looking out for the other patients in the waiting area. All of their office policies are written out and explained in detail at your first appointment, as well as online. The front staff has always been friendly and professional and the providers are awesome at what they do. Keep up the Good Work DPS, you are highly recommended by all of your grateful and compliant patients!

This is the most on care list rude sarcastic inhumane staff we have ever encountered.Moved to this area from another state, trying to find a friendly efficient place for my son to have his consults. This is not one of them, they need a staff that knows how to treat patient with anxiety severe stress etc. If they are just act vulgar and intimidating with this type of patients. Its just common sense. Please do not visit this place, please.

I was 7 months pregnant, high risk, not feeling well, and my keys were locked in my car by mistake.This is the first and only time this has happened. They said I would get a fee for not coming in, and I accepted it. I made gradual payments on it, and got it paid off. I called to make an appointment, but they still say that its not paid, so no appointment. My bank account says its been paid. I left a message, but never got a return message. I am taking my autistic son someplace else. I feel like all they care about is their time and money. Not the patient or their family.

How they are the ones who were late to call my husband for his appointment but they want to charge him a missed appointment fee of 100 dollars ! If I could leave a 0 stars I would have ! Its crazy

My husband and stepsons both go to DPS 4 PTSD, anxiety and depression. The entire staff from the front office, to the doctors common nurses and counselors make you feel like family. They have allowed my loved ones a safe environment to learn coping skills. I would highly recommend them

Missed an appointment due to one of my children vomiting profusely, but I called an hour before to notify them (as it was an emergency and nothing that could be helped). They cancelled ALL of my daughters remaining appointments and sent me a bill for $50. Way to help your patients! Now my daughter who NEEDS the help, is on a 6 month waiting list with another provider because they refuse to see her again at this office. We NEVER missed an appointment before this. Ridiculous.EDIT: As stated above, as well as to your staff in the office, we NEVER missed a SINGLE appointment. And even after an explanation for missing this one, I was still billed $50 and my daughters future appointments were all cancelled. I was told the ‘new policy’ was that the first missed appointment resulted in a charge and cancellations. So clearly your response is bull or your office staff is telling things to patients that you’re unaware of. Doesn’t seem like a wise way to run a business OR to help your patients.

Dps health and wellness really cares about their clients and will really work with you on dates and times of your appointment! They are really helpful and welcoming. They make you feel like home and part of the family!!!

Normally I would give them a high praise, but after this last fiasco, its not going to happen. Had a family emergency spoke to Maryanne she said if we couldnt make it back in town( had to go out of state) to call the morning of the appointment(the next day). When we called we were then informed it would be $150 be cause there wasnt 24 notice.... Not once was it mentioned the day prior. The UN willingness to work with someone is utterly annoying. A death in the family is enough to push anyone over the edge, not having your Dr on top of it is worse.

What a great first visit! My thirteen-year-old daughter went in with a ton of anxiety, and by the time we left, she was actually smiling and laughing!
