I feel very fortunate to have landed at One on One after moving to State College. My experience so far has been truly positive. I started with a comprehensive consultation and a few weeks of independent and personal trainer workouts. Now I’m doing weekly small group classes and independent workouts. What’s fantastic is that all of my workouts, even the class ones, are tailored to my fitness level while gently pushing me to continuously improve. I get to have discussions with trainers about what I want to achieve, what exercises I love or don’t love, which weights should be increased, and boom—custom workouts for me.I’m most impressed by trainers’ attention to each person (5) in the small group setting who are all doing similar workouts but with different weights, equipment, etc. Each person’s workout is tailored toward their fitness level, goals, limitations such as prior injuries, etc.One on One is staffed with remarkable individuals who clearly find a lot of joy in helping others achieve their health and fitness goals. Everyone is so personable, motivating, and knowledgable. There is consistency in instruction across the staff, and a constant focus on form ensures everyone is exercising correctly and safely. All of the trainers are invested in members safety and progress regardless of whether youre working out with a trainer, in a small group or cycling class, or independently.The facility is clean and bright, and there is plenty of quality equipment in each section. Trainers have the technology they need to lead virtual sessions without glitches or disruptions.In all, One on One is a very happy place filled with the people, tools, and motivation you need to improve your physical (and mental!) health.

I have been training with One on One for many years, and everyone I have worked with there has been excellent. All of the staff are knowledgable on the most effective (and fun!) fitness routines, and are all great at working with you to find the best way to get and stay in shape. They really take the time to get to know you, your strengths and weaknesses, and what your goals are.

The trainers are amazing and I personally think its awesome that the owners are on site. Everyone seems to know your name giving you a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere.The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable and you definitely get that 1 on 1 experience even during group sessions. My experience at One on One has been excellent! All of the trainers are encouraging, friendly and fun; yet still challenging during training sessions. Each fitness consultant develops a customized training program that changes as your needs and fitness changes. In the 60+ age category, I needed a safe program that also challenged me to continue to increase my fitness and overall health--One on One meets this goal every day! In the post-quarantine world when many are avoiding gyms, I returned to a gym that has exceeded all expectations of safety and cleanliness. I recently received my Medicare card in the mail (ugh!), so I knew it was time for me to get back to the gym. Having been a One on One client for a number of years, I had recently taken a break, thinking I would have enough discipline to continue to work out on my own. That didn’t happen, but I’m glad because I love being back at One on One. The trainers are professional and knowledgeable and work closely with you to develop a program to meet your specific fitness goals. One on One has also done a great job in creating a safe environment for clients and staff during this pandemic and have implemented a number of changes to ensure that the current guidelines and recommendations are being followed. Being a client here is the best investment I can make in myself, both physically and mentally, and I would highly recommend One on One.

One on One has been a major part of my life for four years now, and I could not imagine life without the workouts. My trainers constantly motivate me and there is a warm, welcoming environment. During the Coronavirus pandemic, One on One transitioned to virtual workouts, which were just as great of quality as the in-person sessions. Since moving back to in-person workouts, the environment at One on One has made me feel so safe with wearing masks, implementing social distancing, and regular sanitations. I cannot praise One on One enough for the safe, welcome, and motivating environment that they provide to the State College community.

Their trainers take your level of fitness into account when planning for your sessions, making sure nothing too easy or too hard for all fitness levels. Even after we had to move away from the State College for a new job, we continued to work with them via their virtual training sessions, which continue to be tailor-made for us.

I started at One On One over 5 years ago. It has made an amazing difference in my life. I began with taking large group classes. I now take small group and large group classed 3-5 times a week.I have become the fittest I have ever been in my life. At 45, I am able to do more with my body than I could at 20.The staff at One on One are encouraging, uplifting, positive and super educated in what they do.Although It is a group setting, the instructor is always monitoring you and giving you individual feedback. They push you (within your tolerance) and make you a better person. I have been working one on one with Ryan (my trainer) since January due to needing exercises to slow my parkinsons disease. Ryan is very knowledgeable and has provided a custom, unique workout which has helped me greatly. He has also been doing housecalls since the pandemic started. I highly recommend this business!

I have been lifting weights off and on for about 7 years, and now being a member of One on One for the past 6 months; Ive seen gains in strength and endurance that I was not able to achieve on my own.The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable and know exactly how to push you to get the results you desire. I just completed my first round of 12 individual sessions and Im so pleased with my experience with One on One Fitness. This is a different type of gym where all the staff work to get to know you. The moment I step through the door, I feel welcomed. Ive only been there for a month, but feel that Ive known this community longer and its a place where I feel like I belong.When I work with my trainer, there is always a set fitness plan designed and ready for me. Its tailored to the exercises I enjoy and I never get bored of the fitness routine. If my trainer isnt available, another can easily step in and lead me through the routines. The staff provide the support that you need individually and are there to help you achieve your goals. My wife (Jodi) and I have truly enjoyed our experience at One on One. From the beginning, were we asked to establish goals and to make commitments necessary to obtain them.In training, we see consistent progress. We are always afforded the opportunity to provide input on our physical well being and to ask for more or less we desire. In asking for more, we are challenged but not pushed. In asking for less, it has been amazing how they know if we are just tired or if we really need relief. Either way, we are met with acceptance and support. Most importantly, our sessions begin and end with a smile on our faces, as the staff is welcoming and truly friendly.Our progress in physical training led us to interest in Take Charge, addressing the nutritional support needed to provide both a healthy lifestyle and the fuel needed to support our training efforts. This is where we (Jodi and I) have struggled at times and succeeded at times for 15 years or more. Here again, our goals were clearly defined in our first meeting. From there, it has been a consistent challenge and reward cycle. We recently had a consultation that we entered giving our counselor every excuse in the books on why we didnt follow our commitments. Plainly and simply, she asked, Where is your commitment? If it has changed, tell me and we can work on new goals. That question compelled Jodi and I to look at each other and ask, why would we cheat ourselves? It refocused our intent and was done allowing us to make the decision. Awesome.Overall, the guidance and support we are receiving has begun to build a foundation for our health we could never have imagined accomplishing ourselves. Our experience affirms a good life lesson that says it is okay to ask for help when you need it.Thank you One on One!!!!

This place is AMAZING. Before starting here I struggled with being afraid that working out would end with me re-injuring myself. Working with the personal trainers has given me my confidence back! The staff here is so understanding and willing to work with you with any issues, but they make sure you are working your hardest! I cant say enough about the staff at One on One (would give 10 stars if I could!) Their wide depth of fitness knowledge combined with their caring (and motivating) personalities have returned me to prime health after a difficult shoulder surgery. They help me stay focused on my goals while paying close attention to my current physical status. My workouts change to exactly what I need so I can keep moving forward. In August, my grandfather decided to make a decision to help me lose weight to help me achieve my dream of getting into the navy, I was roughly 235-240 pounds. In the first couple of months I could feel my body getting back into shape, and working with a bunch of Nutritionists I improved my diet by improving the small things, the workouts are awesome you can’t go to any other gym and expect the same kind of atmosphere and intensity, all the trainers not only helped me achieve my goal of getting into the navy, I got my self confidence back and I’ve made some friends for the rest of my life in my time at one on one. I am grateful that we have such a unique gym here in State College. The trainers are professional, knowledgeable and motivating. My training program is completely personalized to meet my goals. They push me when I need it, but they are understanding and accommodating when I am dealing with an injury or other health issues. John designed an efficient and evolving training program completely individualized to my needs, abilities, and goals. He is patient, but encouraging when necessary-very professional at all times. There are no canned plans here, your trainers will work with you to devise a unique training program suitable for your goals (my wife can also attest to this as a competitive equestrian). As a burgeoning endurance athlete, I credit the strength training I do at One on One with keeping me injury-free and able to perform the way I want. The training methodology is rigorous and grounded in a solid scientific foundation. I am especially fond of the emphasis on Functional Movement, whose mantra is Move Well, then Move Often. This focus on good and correct movement is crucial if you want to maintain fitness and health without injury. One on One is not just where I train, it is an integral part of my community.

I am one who would rather have the preverbal “root canal” than exercise. 3 years later my attitude hasn’t changed much toward exercising except my attitude changes when I walk through the front door to One on One. The smiling faces and voices welcome me by name to come in and join them exercise. Exercise is not the right word, just having fun while moving is better. For my older body I never know which health issues will act up. Fortunately, I see a very smart trainer, John Valentik who keeps me one step ahead of “old age”. I have seen other trainers at One on One and I feel comfortable with all of them. I know every trainer will make sure that my time there will be safe and productive. Yes, I will keep going to One on One as long as they will let me. How fortunate for me to have found the BEST PLACE to EXERCISE!!!

One on One truly is a special place and has become such an important part of my life over the past 8 years. In my experience with having tried other gyms and from friends anecdotes, what sets One on One apart is its superb staff and emphasis on communal wellbeing. It really feels like a family here and I think this model is what makes me feel so comfortable, happy, and welcomed when I am there. No matter the staff member you are working with, rest assured that they are up to speed on any and all osteopathic or body limitations/issues and fully knowledgable about your current health and fitness goals. The staff also have genuine interest in seeing you reach your goals and succeed in your fitness journey. The group classes are phenomenal and very diverse and a decent variety of times are offered. They do a great job trying to accommodate your schedule, doing their utmost in ensuring that you find a time to come into the gym. The gym is kept immaculately clean and there is all the equipment and things necessary for mostly any type of lifting, cardiovascular work, or stretching. Overall, I really enjoy coming into One on One and it has made a tremendous impact on my health and wellbeing since I have joined. Most importantly, One on One has set me up with a great fitness foundation and knowledge that I can build upon anywhere I go in the future. Thanks One on One!

Ive been seeing a nutritionist at one-on-one since January 2018. Ive loved my experience with one-on-one and Im sad that its almost over!! My nutrionist has been awesome and has helped me develop sustainable and adaptive eating habits/attitudes. She endouraged me to communicate my questions, concerns, and ideas with her which made me feel very comfortable and accepted. I didnt feel judged when I didnt make a healthy food choice, ate too much, etc. I felt very supported and encouraged. Ive been very impressed with the professionalism and coaching Ive received. The client-provider relationship is very collaborative. I highly recommend one-on-one if youre seeking nutritional support. The part of my nutrion experience that Ill always appreciate is that loved my nutrionist did not encourage perfection. She encouraged reslient and sustainable eating habits that work for me. Now thats what I call excellent health coaching!!!
