If I could give this location of Aspen a ZERO I would. Please do not waste your time going here. My first visit they said I was due for a cleaning and gave me my estimate and even after telling them I had one previously they said I was good long story short - they ended up charging me over $100 for something that should be included with my insurance. Sam is a nightmare. She seems to answer the phone ever time you call and acts like your bothering her by calling. She is rude and will not take the time to help. Always saying she cant help me and needs to refer my simple question to someone else. Then you wait a week for a call back.... The Manager Megan is not as bad but equally as unhelpful. Back story.... I have had 2 fillings with this place and tried having my Invisalign transferred because I moved from Arkansas not even a year ago. My Invisalign took about 4 months to be transferred and I got a call today saying they wouldnt accept my case because I have had a few refinements and seems difficult. I have an identical twin sister who has her Invisalign with Aspen and while I have been waiting. My sisters teeth are already corrected. No questions to me at all. I went through multiple doctors in AR as the practice was sold once and then had 2 different doctors. Each one said they had a different plan and didnt like the way my case was tracking with the other doc. I feel with consistency like my sister had I could have had my teeth corrected already. All in all this place is a nightmare and I would never refer anyone who wants good care and good customer service to this location. Its worth a drive to go elsewhere.
While Ive only had my first visit so far Im so pleased with Aspen. From the office manager to the techs and finally the dentist everyone was welcoming, comforting (I get nervous on my first visit to any doctor) and most of all extremely knowledgeable and helpful in answering all my questions and explaining procedures. Im looking forward to my continuing dental journey with Aspen!
The dentists and hygienist here are truly amazing. Ive been terrified of the dentist my whole life, but I needed a lot of work done. They did a wonderful job on my teeth, as well as hold my hand for the shots and reassure me throughout the whole process. Wonderful people here, you can tell they really care about you and your comfort and safety and they are very well trained and amazing at what they do. Thank you Aspen for making my experience a good one!
The staff was nice enough. That is the only good. I was given materials that were not covered under my insurance. $100+ dollars worth of that were not covered. They also charged me the the full amount (minus $35), then charged my insurance for the full amount I had already paid. My insurance paid much more than they had assumed. So I over paid by $90. I am fairly sure this is double dipping and I will be contacting the BBB. First off dont accept anything they try to give you. It will be $30+ for everything. Unless you know every inch of your insurance or are an insurance person I would avoid having work done here.
Didn’t wait at all because I got to do most of my forms online ahead of time. Staff was knowledgeable, efficient, and kind. Was easy to set up follow up appointments and check ups.
I have always had good experiences at Aspen. Every staff member has been friendly, professional, and caring. They always answer any questions and have never tried to force any procedures on me. I really appreciate the care they take and the expert care I receive. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.
ZERO STARS!! OMG this place is a scam!! My mom has periodontal disease and had what they called deep cleaning was just a regular cleaning that took less than 30 minutes. It wasnt even the doctor who did the cleaning. They charged a total with insurance of $600. I asked them if we could only do regular cleaning since our insurance overs, but they said no you have to do deep cleaning. BUT THEY FREAKING SCAMMED US with just a regular less than 30 minute mouth wash cleaning.
I was very nervous about my appt. I have had alot of bad experiences with other dentists. The people at aspen dental were very compassionate and kind. They explained everything i needed to have done. They started a deep cleaning on my teeth and talked to me the whole time explaining everything as they did it. I would 100 percent refer anyone to aspen dental. Thank you for being so kind to me.
My anxieties were obvious and were quietly dealt with. Everyone went out of their way to be kind to me, were very patient with me, and explained things to me. I think although I havent had the procedures yet, this team will see that everything will go well. And if there are problems Im quite certain theyll be able to handle them. They even offered me an alternative of other dentists because of how anxious I was and whom offered sedation. I turned their offer down because I do my homework and Aspens team were very highly recommended and scored. Will be smiling prettily soon- just in time for my Nevada grandsons wedding.
New to the area and needed a new dentist. The communication regarding my first visit was awful. Make sure you have your x-rays forwarded from your previous dentist (It’s on you to do this. They will not ask you to do it when you schedule your first appointment or mention it in the new patient paperwork) or you will need to get a ton of new ones. I have never had so many x-rays done at the dentist. Also, you won’t have a cleaning done at the first visit (Even though I scheduled the appointment for my routine cleaning, they never told me this. So after arriving at 7:45 am I was getting nervous about the time when It was 9:05 and I still hadn’t seen the doctor). The gum health exam was awful. I may as well have been a disembodied mouth. It was just “If you hear 4 or 5 that’s unhealthy”. Then rattling off a ton of numbers including several 4s and 5s before telling me I had a gum infection and would need a deep cleaning and antibiotics. I am 42 and have never had a cavity. I go to the dentist every 6 months. I had zero concerns or complaints (again - I thought this was gonna be a routine cleaning). I knew darn well I had no infection. That is pretty much the only reason I waited for the dentist. She confirmed what I knew, I did not have an infection. I guess it’s good they don’t do a cleaning before the dentist sees you and agrees with the plan because the hygienist’s diagnosis and plan were wrong.Overall, the staff were unfriendly and cold and even downright rude (to me and interactions I overheard). The dentist listened to my concerns at least and the office manager gave me a release for my x-rays so I can take them somewhere else. My husband was already seen and treated by them, but he will transfer somewhere else too, because I don’t trust them. Makes me want to call my old dentist’s office and thank them for how awesome they were. I would rather not have dental care than return to this office.
Absolutely pathetic. Had to wait more than two weeks for an appointment. Was forced to have a complete exam done for replacing a crown, and then had another charge billed for taking pictures and x-rays. Thankfully almost all of it was covered by my insurance, but this feels fraudulent. And they didnt replace the crown after all, saying it wont fit and I needed a new one at an out of pocket cost of around 350 dollars. Thankfully I gave up on them. Made an appointment at a different place, got seen immediately and the crown was placed back on. No exams, no wait nothing.
Got my wisdom teeth out here and now starting Invisalign treatment! From the awesome girls in the front to the dental assistants and Dr. R. These ladies are great! So kinda, funny and intelligent! I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my teeth!
Stay away from here. Recently moved to State College and needed to schedule a routine cleaning. I had the same exact experience another reviewer (Melinda Hancock) posted a month ago here. I always have had a good dentist and have been keeping up with my dental health. They were trying to convince me I needed deep cleanings and antibiotics for over $4000. I mentioned I did not want to pay that much, and the office manager recommended trying without the antibiotics first but still had to pre-pay just over $600 for my upcoming visits. After I took a second look at the treatment plan at home, one of the line items was that they were going to charge me $135 for an electric toothbrush. At that point, I couldnt trust them any longer so I walked in the next day to request my x-rays, cancel my appointments, and request a refund.
I was totally pleased after my visit. The hygienist who at my last visit was rude and disrespectful is now gone and the new one, Kristen (sp), was like a breath of fresh air..friendly, professional, caring. The other staff from reception to the dentist continued to be excellent employees.
They were able to get me in on short notice and did a wonderful job fixing my loose crown and doing a cleaning and cancer screening. All at a reasonable price. Five star
I never had issues with Dental Work. I have had nothing but troubles with the financing . Dental First financing was and still is crooked. I can’t believe your office even shares with their patients with this type of financing. Don’t ever finance through Comenity Dental Financing and shame on the State College office foe even telling us to go that way! Horrible..l.
Little bit of a wait, but not too long. The staff was excellent. They were friendly, knowledgeable, personable, and professional. The office was clean and they adhered to all covid precautions, no shortcuts. They explained everything that was going to happen and answered any questions I had. I highly recommend the State College office of Aspen Dental.
Last year, I filled a hole. This year Sep. I received a bill saying that I didn’t pay my bill totally. I said I filled a hole last year. They said, yes. That one. I paid at that moment. They said they wrongly calculated my health insurance coverage so they charged less. Okay, I paid 25 dollars. One month later, another bill. Same reason. I paid 20 dollars again. They promised it was the last time asking money for the case of one year ago. If they keep asking, I am going to call health insurance company to checkout everything. I will never go there. One more case, my husband was overcharged 100 hundred dollars for a toothbrush without noticing us. Guess what, they didn’t give us the toothbrush then we found out. They asked us to pick up the toothbrush and didn’t want to refund the money. We insisted to get the refund but still need to go back there. The skill is not good, either. I pained for more than 1 week about the filled tooth so I called back. The doctor gave me a second small surgery to fix it. just filling a hole. They only have one doctor.
This office has the best people. Everyone is knowledgeable, friendly, and compassionate to your unique situation. They have fast emergency care as well as routine dentistry. Thank you Doctors, Assistants, Hygienists, Technicians, and office staff.
As a person without dental insurance, the first-time appointment seemed like a great situation. However, this whole experience was terrible. There was no privacy at all, there were a bunch of people in and out of the area I was in. X-rays were taken in front of the entire staff and waiting room. The people who were looking at my teeth seemed confused and were rude. Furthermore, I felt like I was just a walking dollar sign from the second I walked in. The woman in charge of financials stood over my shoulder the whole time and they gave me no moment to breathe in between the appointment and her talking to me about ‘monthly financing.’ It was my FIRST visit and they wanted me to sign on for and start paying for DENTAL SURGERY. Do not recommend. Avoid this place at all costs.
I had to come in for an emergency appointment as a new patient. They moved my appointment for a meter day to the same day, and I was in and out within an hour. The staff was very friendly and reassuring.
The staff was nice for the most part. Felt like the dental hygienist just brushed off any questions I had. I was treated very differently and with short answered when saying I need to think about my next appointment. I was treated very differently when I said I didnt want to pay $1500 to just have my teeth cleaned or take out a loan for it. Just not a good experience. Going to get a second opinion.
Nice friendly people but always develop a very expensive dental plan regardless of what you ask for. Scheduled a routine dental exam and cleaning. Received a ton of x-ray without being asked and a $1300 planfor my next 4 visits. This seems to be their normal routine from other online posts.
I was told to get rid of all my wisdom teeth (4) out one time right before I got this surgery. They said you have to pay extra fee if you want to change your plan like, removing one tooth a month. That is way different from what they told me before I made a payment to schedule that surgery appointment. I will not come here any more.
The Staff were especially courteous, efficient and very thorough. I would definitely recommend Aspen Dental of State College, Pa to anyone for a comfortable dental experience.
Absolutely LOVE the staff at State College Aspen Dental!! I have never (in the past) enjoyed going to the dentist, but I enjoy my visits with Aspen Dental! They are so friendly and really make you feel comfortable. I just finished my Invisalign treatment and the experience was GREAT! I was always self-conscious of my teeth, but after Dr. Rupanagunta and her staff worked their magic, I am 100% happy and confident with my smile! :)
This was my first and last time using Aspen Dental. Not counting the time I arrived before my scheduled appointment due to extra paper work for COVID screening, I spent more than 2 hours at this location. I was first seen 30 minutes after my scheduled time. During the time I waited in the lobby, the front-end desk employees were holding a conversation around teen pregnancy. Their discussions and personal opinions were loud enough so that everyone could hear. Unfortunately, some of the opinions would put shame upon a defenseless customer in the waiting area that might have been in that situation or have/had a loved one in that situation. A lesson in manners, decorum, and customer service would provide much benefit. Once my x-rays were taken, I again waited to be seen by a hygienist and dentist. The hygienist checked my gums and the dentist didnt even open my mouth. I was then asked to leave the cubicle I was in to go back out to the waiting area so that I could then go back to the cubicles for the actual cleaning. Again, another wait that was about 30 minutes. While waiting here I witnessed the disorganization and apparent friction between employees. When I saw the noticeable eye rolls between employees and the flustered running around from lack of client organization, I lost confidence that I would have a sufficient cleaning. The cleaning lasted maybe 10 minutes. Not worth it. I have permanent retainers on the top and bottom of my teeth. They didnt even bother to floss around them. I obviously do not recommend this branch of Aspen Dental to anybody.
They took a very long time for a check up. I think I waited more than I was seen. At the end they tried to sell me some special cleaning for $1700 copay. Then they offered a cleaning for $ 240 when its listed as free on my insurance.
I liked the second hygienist I saw this past Saturday better then the first one I saw a week before. The second one was much friendlier and more personable, and explained things to me in a way where I actually understood what was being done all when remaining professional. I was also really nervous about my extractions, and she calmed my fears by making me laugh and made me feel comfortable about it. I liked her a lot.
The office staff was very unorganized. No one really seemed like they know knew what they were doing except one nurse who I heard tell the other nurse several times what she needed to be doing. The person doing the x-rays didnt have any bedside manner and made my mouth hurt from the plastic piece you bite down on for x-rays. I was told I have gingivitis and a cavity. The cavity seems possible since it is beside the empty spot where my wisdom tooth used to beautiful, but I brush my teeth every single day. There is no way I have gingivitis. Also, my appointment was supposed to be for a routine cleaning and no one even cleaned my teeth. They looked in my mouth for maybe a total of 5 minutes, tops. They also said I had a filling in one of my teeth, which I never had a cavity filled in my life. If I wanted to get anything done at all, $700. I feel like they were trying to pull one over on me and get more money out of me than stuff they needed to actually do. I was then lied to on the way out the door when I said I would look for somewhere that takes my insurance that nowhere around here takes your insurance. Yes, they do. The only reason I came to Aspen Dental in the first place is because everyone else was busy or didnt answer. I will not be going back.
The staff was very professional, kind, and explained every step through the process. One of the girls that works at the front desk was super helpful and kind while explaining the details of my bill even for upcoming appointments. Overall, the whole visit went very smooth and I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the store. The staff took appropriate and safe precautions in light of covid. The medical technology (and technology in general) within the store was also very impressive- very modern and convenient! I was very impressed overall as this was my first visit.
I cannot say anything negative about how I was treated. The staff was very courteous. However, they tried to scam me. I left my long-time dentist who I trust and is very upfront with any upcoming issues to go Aspen because they were in my network. I was refused service (basic teeth cleaning) because I denied a special treatment for periodontal disease and an infection in my gums, when in fact, a true professional confirmed that I do not have this issue. The special treatment would have cost me close to $1000! My insurance did not cover this treatment. While I was there, I heard the same hygienist tell three other patients that they had periodontal disease and required special treatment. Beware of recommended treatment and get a second opinion!
I had a great experience, I went over 2 years ago but never followed up after my fiances passing. When I finally went in, recently, I was concerned about some sensitivity etc that had been left go for a while. They were very nice in explaining everything and being sure my concerns were taken care of. I anticipated a normal dentist lecture of the importance of dental care but I was greeted with understanding on my situation and the dentists response was simply what matters is youre here now and we can take care of it now. Very happy with my visit. Very pleasant staff. Will be happy to continue to go here.
Good service to be honest, BUT THEY WILL TRY TO UPSELL YOU. VERY PUSHY SELLING YOU THIN AIR. (You will better off going to non-corporate dentist)
Staff was courteous and on time. Patiently helped find future appts for three family members. Office was very clean with all appropriate safety protocols in place (masks, distancing, hand sani, etc)
Extremely friendly and professional staff. I am not a fan of going to the dentist in general, but my first visit to Aspen Dental was quick and smooth. They eased my nerves about a surgery I need to get done and were diligent in explaining everything I needed to know. They even gave me a payment plan for the work I need done since I do not have dental insurance.
Great. Visit with state college aspen dental the team was on point. Very speedy but very very personal made me feel right at home. Checked on my teeth and did a hygiene check for tarter buildup. Cleaning. And all. Best dental visit
Thank you so much for helping me so promptly. Greatly appreciated. Front staff, assistant, and doctor were all very nice. I’ll see y’all soon!
Everyone was very nice. The wait time was very minimal. All around great experience.
Friendly, caring staff. Accommodate schedules with minimum wait time.
The staff is incredibly friendly, especially during these troubling times. They are very clean and taking every precaution to not be part of the spread of the virus. They’re very gentle, have a lot of high tech equipment, and fast. What my insurance didn’t cover was pretty expensive, but that’s not Aspen’s fault! I would definitely recommend them to a friend.
Great and fast service!
It was alright. Not a long wait, the cleaning felt quicker than normal and not as thorough. The hygentist was personable so that was a nice change.
Went here years ago and they basically told me I needed a root canal and all this other stuff— obviously a big expense and not a good time. Went to get a 2nd opinion and other dentist said I had a single super tiny cavity. She fixed it in like 5 min and I never had issues and that was probably 6-7 years ago. Aspen is a scam. Stay away
Sam the office manager is wonderful. She has a great personality. I was impressed with my dental assistant who was extremely optimistic about positive about my situation. Everyone was professional courteous and kind.
Aspen dental is great. Fantastic Docs, hygienist, & support staff.
Everyone was extremely nice. A great dental office.
I went there for a tooth filling and they began to persuade me that I need periodontitis treatment before they can fix my tooth . The prize for the filling as advertised on Aspens site states for 200$. The bill after treatment supposed to be 2500 which is way above expectation. I got an impression of imposing a service. besides, I was denied for help if I do not agree to additional procedures, referring to the fact that the filling would pop out if this was not done! I wont come here anymore and dont recommend anyone else do.
Curtieous and got the results swiftly of what I needed to get done and they came up with a plan to help me smile and with it being affordable
I went there for a teeth cleaning and instead told to do periodontitis treatment. The treatment was fine, my biggest mistake was that I didnt check the bill before I pay. When I returned home some days later, I checked the bill and found they charged me the electric toothbrush they sold for 150 dollars, and the manager didnt show me its price when she reviewed me the bill! I couldnt return it since I already used it. This was the most expensive toothbrush I ever used in my life, and it somehow stopped working after a month. I wont come here anymore and dont recommend anyone else do. If you do come, make sure to check the bill for toothbrush before you pay!!!
Not good. This is a chain dental clinic. Do your research, as they have a track record.
Had the best experience here today. I needed to get all three kids seen and myself. All four of us were in and out in an hour and a half. The hygienist even talked to my children while cleaning my teeth. So grateful for such a great experience today thank you!
Best cleaning I ever got. The hygenist Cari was afficiant but very throrugh. Very nice too.
They were ignorant and very unprefessional the ladies at the front desk were the only prefessinals there.
I went to Aspen for a full check-up since it had been a while. The person who took my X-Ray was amazingly nice.I’ll never ever step into another Aspen clinic again because I got my front crowns replaced there 6 months ago and they are already darker than my other NATURAL UNTREATED teeth!!I brush and floss 3 times a day since it hurt so much to get those! I’m not an alcohol consumer either. When I called them about this, they told me that it’s impossible that this happened and that I should just go get my teeth cleaned. My new dentist discovered that these crowns’ surfaces are not smooth!!!! The protective layer had been disturbed. Paid 3K for this plus the gum pain I went through for days. They basically ruined my smile for the next 10 years whatsoever. I can’t even forgive them yet, if ever.
I am thrilled to have found Aspen Dental and wish I had done so years ago. In Nov 2015 I purchased an upper partial denture for $4,500 from another State College dental group. It came with a full no questions asked warranty. Unfortunately, when the denture cracked a few weeks ago, I could not find the paperwork, and when I went to the dental group for help, they refused to provide me with a copy of the contract or to honor the warranty. They instead made a hasty, inferior repair to the crack (for which I was charged $200!) which came apart within a week, and then refused to fix that. I then called Aspen Dental, who repaired the denture perfectly (I cant even tell where it was cracked) for $150 and further assured me, if I ever need a new denture, their top-of-the-line model averages about $1,500 and that comes with a 7-year unlimited warranty. And the staff are lovely, friendly, kind people - an added incentive.
Staff was professional, patient, and empathetic. I was very nervous going in but they made me feel at ease, explaining what they would be doing and why; as well as what I should do to improve my overall oral health. The costs were also explained to me before procedures were done and I was given the opportunity to choose what I did and did not want to do. Costs were very reasonable.
My appointment on March 10th, 2020 was excellent. The surgeon was very concerned about my discomfort level and used all means to make sure that my pain was minimum. The surgeon and technician were very efficient and each knew what was needed without verbal communication. Follow up instructions were adequately explained and the written instructions reinforced those given orally. My thanks to all involved.
When I originally made my appointment, I had to keep repeating myself because the assistant could remember what I was telling her regarding my information. I scheduled a first time appointment and cleaning on the same day. She said that that was fine. When I arrived, my birthday was incorrect which was found out during x-rays and then I was told that they were not going to give me a cleaning because that never happens the same day as the first appointment. They decided to give me cleaning “treatment” that wasn’t covered by my insurance. Then, they DID take me in for a cleaning right after xrays and then told me the insurance DID cover a portion...overall, the dental work was fine, but the organization and communication was slightly poor.
Very efficient and professional kept all virus procedures in place
The end results of a very through exam were upsetting. Otherwise everyone was very courteous and all wore masks. Thank you for that!
Pleasant and friendly staff, organized, very informative.
Been going here for years...out of convenience only...every single time somebody up front is being rude, and the front of house staff is very short with people. They really put out the give me your money and get out of my life vibe. Even on the phone they are rush rush and think they know more about your own health and or life schedule than you do.I must also say i have never had any issues with the doctors, techs or hygienists in the back.Oh theyll clean your teeth, but the people at the front desk will make sure you know how burdensome on their day you are.Buyer beware.
Excellent staff; friendly, competent, responsive to my needs. This is a really fine dental clinic.
Aspen Dental is very professional and quick with treatment, maybe too quick. The last time the dental hygienist was efficient but have no idea of her name. No name tags for some reason. After cleaning about 20 min., she never said how I was doing, I had to ask her. Im sure shes quite qualified, just not very personal. Plus she didnt provide me with a new toothbrush, paste, or floss like the other hygienist, Paige, does. Thats a very nice gesture and makes you feel cared about. Since Paige has treated me from the beginning, I feel I should be able to stay with her if at all possible. Then she can see my progress or lack of and suggest what I can do to improve.
The staff is awesome and they do not dig at your teeth as some other dentists do. I have left other dentists in pain from them picking at my teeth. Aspen is gentle and do just as good as a cleaning as private practices do, without the pain.
ASPEN DENTAL 🦷 is convenient, innovative, efficient, clean, upstanding, and cost efficient. Honestly, I felt important there, and the environment is a nice one. They are intuitive and do a very good job of caring for a person’s teeth, AND the person. I honestly had such a fabulous time there it made the rest of my day better!! I definitely recommend their innovative efficient approaches.
Been there three times and the hygienist makes me feel like I was wasting her time or she was not in a good mood (She never smiled to me nor introduced herself). They were so busy that nobody explained my X-ray to me. Besides they billed me a 150 dollars electronic toothbrush without telling me. I got the refund. But there is still 60 dollars toothpaste and mouth wash in the bill... Anyway, better to find another place.
I found the staff of this office to be very pleasant and competent. My appointment was on time, and they were very professional, yet friendly and concerned for my comfort and well-being. My procedure was painless and fairly quick considering what needed to be done. Each person who dealt with me explained what they were doing and why it needed to be done. This review comes from someone who always approaches a dental office nervously, but I was very satisfied with this visit.
Nice place to go, got a specialty cleaning done. The only thing I disliked was that the young woman cleaning my teeth didnt give a play by play on what she was doing to me. It definitely would have been a 5 star experience if I had known what was going on inside my mouth and know when I might feel some discomfort at certain times.
Every employee at Aspen Dental was very professional and courteous. Every step of my X-ray, cleaning and procedure was explained to me, as well as checked with my insurance so I knew any expense that was coming my way. The teeth cleaning you receive is specified to your gums and what is best for your oral health. Every surface is cleaned as soon as the technician is done, the entire office was clean and there was a tv at every chair to offset the noises that may come from dental care. I really enjoyed my experience at Aspen Dental and will happily continue to be their client!
I went in here for a new patient exam a few months ago, and I have nothing but kind words for the staff who made me feel comfortable and were quite professional in taking all the usual x-rays. The dentist was another matter altogether. The x-rays showed that I had an impacted upper wisdom tooth. The dentist took one look at the x-rays and proclaimed confidently that the situation was beyond all salvage and I needed to get three teeth extracted immediately (the wisdom tooth, the neighboring molar it had impacted on, and the corresponding lower tooth which would have nothing to bite against). Had I acquiesced, thats exactly what would have happened. I insisted on getting a second opinion from specialists and walked away. Boy, am I glad I did! Yes, the wisdom tooth had to go, but there was nothing wrong with the neighboring molar that a root canal could not fix, and with that in place, there was no reason to tamper with the lower teeth at all. In other words, I only needed one extraction, not three.I can forgive a mistake, but I cant forgive the dentists unprofessional refusal to even discuss the other options with me or refer me to a specialist. The recommendation to remove the undamaged lower molar was an especially egregious one. Even if the upper molar was beyond repair (which an endodontist has since said is expressly not true), what if I wanted to put in an implant in its place to bite against the lower molar? Removing the lower molar would obviate all other options. She wouldnt even tell me what else could be done. All she wanted to do was pull three teeth out, without good cause. When I said I wanted to wait and consult other professionals, her reply was Wait for what, infection?. Im in my 20s, and Ill live with the consequences of such drastic and unnecessary actions for the next 60 years. I would have lost half the molar chewing surface on the right side. I cant trust someone whos so cavalier with my dental health.
Very long wait. Took me two hours to see a Dr finally. And the Dr was in a rush. She didnt even discuss with me any further treatments and plans. Receptionist didnt even show up to reschedule my next visit when it was necessary for me. Left the clinic without any of my issues resolved.
I hadn’t slept in three days because of my tooth ache and went to Aspen for the first time. The doctor just said that my wisdom teeth needs to go and said to use salt water to make my pain go away. The hygienist cleaned my teeth claiming that it will sooth my gum. Even though my insurance covers cleaning somehow I was charged $160. Also they said with my insurance the teeth removal would cost $800. Also there was no booking for the next 3 months. Great. Thanks for all your solutions. I m still awake at 4 am and writing your review. I will go find myself another dentist.
Very relaxing atmosphere and personal had a great experience
Very caring and understanding of patients with anxiety issues. Explained everything they were doing & will do in future visits.
I had been there other many times before. The people are very nice. I like the part there easy to schedule with. Thank full I had gone I have two cavities I wasnt aware of. See them in January..
Very gentle and yet casual. There is someone at every turn to help you with any questions or need you may have. I have never had to wait more than five minutes later than my appointment time either. Excellent pricing/packaging program to accommodate those without dental insurance. Terrific experiences all around.
Good at their jobs. Gave me rushed explanations about my dental health that I didnt fully understand because they were to busy running from place to place. The entire place is absolutely covered in ads for dental products from many different companies. Sent me many, many obnoxious emails asking me to review them, so here is the review.
Very pleasant. And the ultimate outcome, was achieved.
Very thorough X-rays as a first time patient. Dentist was nice and looked into why I may have been having issues and gave helpful recommendations that were affordable.Only downside, I thought I’d get the cleaning that day as well. I did not, I had to come back the next day. I’m assuming it was only because I was a first time patient. It would have been nice to know that was the practice... but overall it was a good experience.
The staff has been very nice to my wife and I every time we have been in for service. they are always helpful and polite. they always keep a very clean and inviting facility.
A very professional dental team. Both the Dentist and the Dental Assistant were excellent. The insurance treatment plan costs were printed out with no wait time. The costs of this office are very reasonable. Thank you Aspen Dental.
With anything there is good and bad. In the case of Aspen Dental in State College, I am very impressed with their service, expertise and cleanliness of facility. There is plenty more GOOD than bad here. Only thing I did not like was that they recommended a prescription fluoride and special treatment for my teeth. They were not pushy. They simply gave me a quote and recommended it. I felt it was unnecessary. End of conversation. That was my only pet peeve but really what dentist does not do that? You just have to make the judgment call for yourself.Based on all of the reviews online, and yes I read all of them before going to this dental office, I was not expecting much. However, much to my surprise, it was my best visit to the dentist.I basically needed one of my top front teeth rebuilt. The dentist and his assistants were very courteous to me and made me comfortable during the process. The rooms are well lit and the chars were comfortable. I did not feel like I was going to be executed like I have before in smaller dentist offices. They spent time and they really tried to make my tooth look great. They did an awesome job. For that I wanted to take the time and say thanks in a way that will hopefully make them look good too.Great service. Comfortable conditions. Quality work. I was smiling my way out the door and I was actually proud to do so.
It was one of the best experiences I’ve had when visiting the Dentist
This was my first visit here with my son, 10. We had to switch dentists due to insurance and he has always looked forward to going to the dentist. I will give credit where credit is due, the receptionist was fantastic and friendly. After we waited an hour past our appointment time we finally got back to a cubicle, they arent even private rooms. The experience for my son was not a good one, the hygienist did not even say hello or speak to him before she started cleaning his teeth. She came in, sat down and said ok lets start cleaning your teeth. Up to this point he has loved going to the dentist, thankfully. I can not imagine having a child that had any kind of anxiety about a dentist before this because this would have been a terrifying experience. She proceeded to clean his teeth, very hurriedly. She actually poked him with the tool in the top of the mouth twice and scraped too close to his gum line in the front and irritated his gums and made them sore. Then, we had to go for Xray...he told her the insert in his mouth hurt, to which her response was it will only hurt for a minute.!! When he came out I asked him if they were bigger than the ones he had before at the prior office we used and he said yes. To which the hygienist informed me they only had size 1 not size 0, so obviously they were too big for his mouth and instead of working with him to make them fit she ignored that he said it hurt and proceeded. There was no empathy or care expressed...he is a kid...come on! While we waited for the x-ray i observed the office manager interacting with a customer who had questions about her bill and she was very cold to her and the customer was being nice, asking questions to understand why she was billed and the manager told her that she would give her the billing code and she could just call her insurance to find out and when the customer finally told her she would cancel her future appointment the manager just said OK like it was no big deal or didnt care. Anyhow, we get back to our cubicle and abruptly get told we need to move rooms and are told to gather our things. After all this we finally see the doctor, who was fantastic. She actually introduced herself, spoke to my son, asked if he had any pain or complaints, asked me if I had any concerns, etc. She was very pleasant and professional with him. I thanked her for that. If it wasnt for the doctor I would not go back there. We made a follow up and asked for a different hygienist but Im not impressed with the professionalism of the hygienist or how she interacted with my son for his first visit at their office.
I went to the State College, PA location. They did X-Rays and I was told no cavities. I said I did not want any extra services, no fluoride, no whitening. JUST a cleaning. They said I must do a Deep cleaning, I said I did not want that. Just a basic cleaning. They Refused. So I walked out and found a different dentist. Ben Williams. He is excellent. He did not accept my insurance, but it was still cheaper. Aspen over charges, then gives you a discount for your insurance. Better with someone that just charges a fair price.
I visited several oral health professionals and my decision was hard. You were great. I loved that you all were to the point and gave me an overview of my oral health, as others did, unlike my primary dentist of 25+ years. I never knew that I could have such a comprehensive overview of my oral health. For me, it came down to personal preference. I would have liked to have met your oral surgeon. Your monetary quote was slightly higher than the other oral health professionals quotes. Perhaps I did not asked the right questions, but you were very impressive. I thank you for being straight forward and supplying me with information that concurred with the other oral professionals which whom I consulted. I would definitely recommend you. Annie Pletcher
I would give negative stars if i could. They have the worst customer service humanely possible. They made a mistake in billing and filing for my insurance (as said by them). They told me then to wait for the new bill as they are amending the insurance claim and disregard the current bill, but the next thing I know there is a Collection notice from a Collection company for the amount.I would avoid this place at all cost.
All of the staff that I spoke with were kind and did their jobs well. However, I went in for a new patient check up - meaning only x rays and a very basic examination / no cleaning or other problem consultations - and I was there for ALMOST 90 MINUTES! My appointment was set for 5:30, and I did not leave until 6:50. The quality of service and the convenient hours make this office very tempting, but this extreme delay makes it hard for me to consider coming back.
This was my daughters first visit, and also my first visit for a long while. Everyone we encountered was extremely pleasant, and I was definitely nervous not only to be at a new dental facility but also under new doctors. The dental hygienist we had was super with my daughter, and the entire establishment was very orderly and clean. Would reccomend an Aspen dental to anyone looking for top notch care.
Ive been going to Aspen Dental for a few years now, and I must say they are fantastic! I rarely have to wait longer than a few minutes to be called back. They clean my teeth immediately, and if I have an exam it only takes a few minutes for the doctor to come in. The whole thing takes 20-40 minutes depending on what needs to be done. All of the staff are polite and kind, and the hygienist this last time didnt ask me questions with her hands in my mouth. Best experience of my life
So far all good, the Doctor is wonderful and very gentle had a great experience
I had an appointment at 4:30 I got there early knowing I had paperwork to do. I sat there for two hours without being seen I finally got frustrated and left. I watched people come into the office after me get seen and leave very unprofessional
Worst experience ever!Me and my husband went to Aspen dental more than a year ago for a check up and cleaning. They chipped my front tooth while doing that, so I called them and went back. They didn’t even offer to do that for free since it was their fault in the first place. It was chipped just a little bit, but enough to not be happy with my smile. They did the worst job, my tooth wasnt smooth at all, and it started breaking piece by piece, so I decided to go to another dentist. This dentist showed me pictures through the microscope that there was a piece of thread embedded in my tooth from their attempt to fix the chip.At the same time they overcharged my husband for his cavity fix. After promising to refund it, we never received a check.
Over the years, I have had many a tooth extracted in many different places across North America, and without a doubt, I must say that the people who work in this dental office are some of the best that I have ever come across! Unfortunately I didn´t get her name, but the Asian female dentist that pulled my teeth was nothing less than excellent! She pulled two teeth, side by side, one of which had been mostly broken off on the top, and did it without my feeling any pain at all, and relatively quickly. Everyone in this office were friendly, patient, and kind.
I am a new patient and from beginning until the end of the visit everyone was so friendly and professional. I had some serious tooth pain and the doctor took care of it and also address other issues for a later appointment.Updated Review: I have been a patient for some time now and wish I could give more stars. They are all fabulous. I seriously can’t say enough great things about them all. Would definitely recommend.
I waited a little over an hour passed my appointment. Hygienist was acting in a rush so she appeared rude and made me uncomfortable. They made me feel like I was wasting their time and my issues were not important. My tooth needed pulled and hygienist made me feel like i didnt know what the issue was and that I wrong. They have free initial exam but it does not include cleaning despite what I was told. They also said when I made the appointment that they blocked out time to pull my tooth but then told me that wasnt the case and i would have to schedule a separate appointment. On the bright side the Dentist was very pleasant and understanding and will pull my tooth without sending me to an oral surgeon which would of cost more. Desk staff was very pleasant as well. Returning in a month to have my tooth pulled I am hoping the hygienist was just having a bad day and the communication between office staff and I when I made the appointment was just a misunderstanding.
Doctor seemed like he was on something, kinda sketchy, seemed twitchy. Was hesitant to go back. Did a good job, but still.
Yesterday at 1:30 am, I chipped my tooth (a lifelong fear of mine, LOL). At 5 am I woke up and was able to schedule a 10:45 am appointment. The dentists were very busy and I was scared they wouldn’t have time to fix my tooth, but after an X-Ray and a look around my mouth, the dentist told me that after she was done with her three patients after me, she’d be able to fix it!! My wait wasn’t even a half hour and the price was not bad at all! I am so happy and relieved I was able to get it fixed not even 12 hours after my incident occurred, especially at such a busy and highly-reputable place!! And it was cheaper than what I read tooth binding costs on the web. Very grateful and appreciative of these dentists, and will 100% be going back for future dental needs! Thank you guys!
