This company is the worst experience I have ever had while being a premium AAA member. Unfortunately they are the only tow company in the area so they use that to take advantage of unsuspecting customers. We broke down in CT over the weekend and they left us on the side of the road twice. They showed up for what was supposed to be a fully covered call and attempted to extort $150 and lie that AAA had cancelled the call when in fact the driver Nicholas cancelled it. After calling AAA to resolve the issue they lied to AAA stating that I was not present when I was the person that spoke directly to the driver no name or Id was requested. He just drove off when I informed him that there must have been a misunderstanding about the fee.At this point I have been abandoned on the side of the road all day while on vacation all the way from California. I cant believe they would ever leave any person in that situation. If for some reason you have the opportunity to use another two company I beg that you do. Nicholas, Phil, all of them are heartless and useless. Attached are the pictures of when they left me while trying to calmly resolve the issue. Oh and the whole interaction was less that 1 minutes. If anyone was eligible for zero stars it is this company.
The customer service our company received was outstanding. My boss is not easily impressed, but this time he was. From the polite voice of Kim who answered the phone and our questions, Frank the manager who made things happened and Joe the mechanic who went out of his way to make sure our truck was fixed in no time and Fulvios efficiency sending our invoice via email and the driver who went to give us a jump start. They were also flexible with several methods of payment. Thank you Lone Star for the good old fashion customer service.
I broke down on I95 during morning rush hour. Lone Star Repair Service came out within minutes, quickly and safely loaded my vehicle and gave me a ride to pick up a rental. Great service. Whether it’s towing or general repairs I highly recommend Lone Star Repair Service.
I kept breaking down every other day for over a year. I had brought the car to numerous service stations and dealerships and replaced numerous batteries but still kept breaking down. I called Triple AAA and they sent Lone Star Repair Service to tow the car. This was the best thing that could ever happen! The driver was so professional and suggested that their mechanic took a look. They kept the car for a few days and found a simple problem that has been fixed ever since. It has been running perfect now for 6 months. I highly recommend this friendly and reliable service station.
Excellent service! We have been using Lone Star services in Stamford CT for many years. They are very professional and reliable team. Highly recommended!
Fulvio has been doing our work for years and him and his guys never fail to disappoint . From the first call until we are safely off the road his team flawlessly handles any job we give them. I would highly recommend Lonestar to anybody that needs anything from roadside assistance to mechanical repairs and towing for any size vehicle. Keep up the great work guys!
Great Service !, Working in the Truck repair industry in NYC I use them from time to time for anything up north ....Great tow/repair company, Thanks !
They came and towed me off the road in record time..super professional courteous and helpful.Keith and Tony two of the best.....
Had a disagreement with this company over towing from private property. Unfortunately the property management didn’t notify their tenants and lone star hooked my car up. Originally charged me $150 but called and spoke to the owner Phil who is a real down to earth guy and he refunded half my money. I understand I have to take some responsibility because it was not Phil’s fault he was called there. Might even have my car serviced here now that I know he’s honest.
Very professional and clean equipment. The driver took care loading my vehicle and assured me the truck would be cared for and fixed. Thank you for the service and quality repaired
Professional, knowledgeable and reputable company that we, as a property management firm, rely on for our towing needs.
Very customer oriented and courteous. Would recommend and will be a return customer.
One of the best full service auto repair centers in the area . Friendly, knowledgeable and professional . Well recommended !
Great place, great price! would definitely recommend used them about a year ago and repair is still great!
The timing of tows never bothered me as I understand their schedules are at the mercy of others. I am irate about the fact that when I called my dealership hours later about whether or not my had arrived, no one had seen it. After 30 minutes of searching their lot they realized the tow had dropped it, with keys inside IN WATERBURY, and did NOT alert the dealership. Inexcusable.
I have walked in with simple to serious issues. Loan Star is my Repair Place by choice. I have called with an issue of car not starting. The Pickup was at my driveway within an hour!
Prompt service, Family owned business very involved.Helped one of our mutual customers get back on the road. Very fair price for service provided.Thank you for all your help
Great service, always there when we need them.
Very professional business. Took care of me in a timely matter and they were very honest business
Lone Star team are professional and a pleasure to work with. Thank you for handling our requests so efficiently.
Got it done. Had a parts problem which extended the job into another day.Edit June 2021. Called yesterday to schedule an oil change and reminded them to get a filter.Showed up today: cant proceed, dont have filter. Why, I reminded about filter yesterday? No shows. But I specifically asked to have one...Policy.Now I have to go back in 3 days.Deducting two stars.Too bad, nice guys, friendly, get the job done.
Outstanding--arrived within minutes of the call and got us up and running thank you.
No problems and reliable…that speaks volumes.
1 star is too much for this business. They are thieves, Unprofessional and rude. They were suppose to tow my vehicle to my house instead their worker suddenly needed to end his shift could not take me there and neither could anyone else IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. At first he charged me $175 just to get my van off the highway then the price switched to $225 and I had to pay cash only at this point. Do yourself a favor and call somebody else!
They are a AAA roadside vendor. I was quoted a 40 minute wait and they got to me in 10 minutes. They made sure that I was safe, and that I would be able to get to my destination and back and then to the tire store the next day they were open. They were kind and courteous. Great service.
Great people that do great work, weather it be on the side of the road or in the garage, cant ask for a more pleasant experience, from the gas attendants, the drivers and operators, to the owner himself, very professional and courteous, the only place I go if I need any repair or maintenance work done.
I highly recommend loan star for any towing needs Fouvio and Frank are great guys always there when needed for repairs and towing no job to big or to small
After a lifetime of getting my cars serviced at the car dealership, Lonestar is now the only one who will do routine and emergecy care for my car. They are respectful and informative (so rare for a female customer when involved with automotive services). The Lonestar team explains every service they do before they do it and have fair pricing. Highly recommended for great quality, integrity, cost, and skill.
Lone Star does towing services at some properties that we manage. They do a great job and are very responsive. During a particularly sticky conversation with someone whose car I asked to be towed, they were very calm & professional.
My battery got weak and died after several years. Lone Star was very reponsive on the phone, offered several options to assist me (jump/tow/battery replacement) with prices clearly explained for each. Very quick, friendly, and accomodative service to get a new battery installed. AAA authorized service.
One of our customers was stuck in Connecticut, tow company Send out service truck arrived in less than 20 minutes. Send out service truck arrived in less than 20 minutes Driver was very courteousHighly recommend this company. Fair price for great service.Big Tows
Tony From Lone Star/grants auto body towing responded to our AAA call for help in our Jeep not starting - and he was quick to arrive and so pleasant & helpful! Wonderful service in our area! Thank you Tony!!!-carol
Towed a service vehicle to our yard. Wait time was minimal.
Honest service at a fair price.
Absolutely loved and appreciated this place. Tony was great. A friend of mine and I got into a five car pile up on I-95 and Tony was able to get us and our vehicle home (to PA) safely. We are so grateful he could help us to that extant!
Awesome friendly customer service!! Took care of what I needed right away. My new place to go for auto service.
These guys fit me in for an emergency oil change with an hour notice on a Friday and still got it done before I needed it. Great service and very helpful.
I recently bought a very expensive Porsche. The first day I had the car I must have driven over a nail and had flat tire. I called Porsche roadside assistance and they use a vendor called Lightning Roadside Asst Corp. In 35 years I have never had a worse experience. They said 45 minutes it was after 3 hrs until I realized they lied to me and it was another 90 minutes. We called Triple A and in 10 minutes triple A sent Lone Star Repair Service located in STAMFORD CT. These guys were unbelievable! So nice, so knowledgable it was like the twilight zone! I never right reviews but these guys are simply wonderful, trustworthy and nice. I cannot recommend Lone Star Repair Service more highly!
I can’t say enough good things about Lone Star. We were stuck on the side of the road for over 3 hours waiting for Porsche road side assistance. Not only did they lie about the timing, they were nasty.I finally called AAA and Yoel from Lone Star showed up in 15 minutes. He called to tell me he was on his way, he should up 10 minutes later, as he said. He couldn’t have been nicer and was extremely knowledgeable. He gave us different options and we decided to go to the Lone Star garage where the team there set us up, advised us wisely and got us on our way quickly! These people know their stuff and they are honest guys!!
I came in today at 8:25am, late to work, a bit flustered that I had locked my own keys in my car. Let me just say, these guys could not have been sweeter about the situation. They helped me get my car unlocked quickly, they charged me fairly, and they had an amazing attitude the entire time. Forget AAA, Im calling Lone Star next time I need something!!
Great service and knowledgeable staff
Predatory towing practices at best. I have AAA and have never worked with such a poor towing company. They held my car hostage for payment after performing unauthorized work. In talking with their phone operator it became clear this was common practice for them. A truly disgusting place.Ironically they continue to send me unsolicited emails to review their company. I will continue to give them 1 star reviews.
I use Lone Star for all my oil changes, car repairs and all things that deal with my car. I can’t say enough amazing things about them. Their service is the best around!!!
Best towing company around, well trusted, care about their customers. Fast and reliable service!
My husband had an emergency flat tire and they patched it quickly and very reasonably. Great service! Highly recommend!
Crooks and liars. That’s the best way to sum up Lone Star Repair, who are somehow in bed with multiple properties throughout Stamford. My car was towed from the apartment complex at which I live. The invoice (more on that later) says that a tow was “requested” by the owner.First, there were dozens of empty spots overnight, so it’s not as though an angry neighbor called at 5:30 in the morning - when my car was towed - looking for a space. No, nobody called to request the car was towed. The employees at Lone Star will make it seem that way, that they’re doing the property management’s bidding. After voicing my complaints to the property management group, I received a call from the property manager informing me that, despite the fact that they have the make, model and plate number of my car, that unless Lone Star Towing’s representative can see a medallion visibly, they are allowed to tow at their own discretion. In other words, the property group wants nothing to do with supervising its own lot, and instead will allow a towing company to tow pretty much at will. It didn’t matter that there were dozens of spots available, and it didn’t matter that my car had been parked 90% of the time over the past 13 months here, they were going to tow my car the one night my medallion wasn’t 100% visible in order to make $200.They had my car for five hours, and the cost was $200, including a $90 winching fee for a front wheel drive car that was backed into the space. This was not policing/enhancing the property community or doing a service, this was simply seizing the opportunity to make $200.
Car broke down on a Sunday and my family and I were in an unfamiliar place. Called and spoke with Tom who assured that they are open 24 hours since we still have to set up transportation for the rest of the family being that only 2 can ride on the tow truck. Once we have it set up I called again and spoke with Tom. He made it clear on how much the cost will be and sent the truck in less than 45 minutes. Milton the driver was a very nice gentleman. He checked with us if we understood the cost and we confirmed it. He represents the company real well. I highly recommend Lone Star Service Company. They are dependable and honest. Thank you Tom and Milton.
I started with Lone star when I owned a Mitsubishi. Unfortunately all the Mitsubishi dealers shut their doors a few years back. So I turned to Lone Star for my repair work. That was around 15 years ago, and I have been a regular customer ever since. Their work is great, it is thorough, and they really know their automobiles. My wife thinks some of them might be bikers : ) The prices they charge are reasonable. What more can I say -- they check all the boxes. My only negative is they arent very adept at letting me know when I can pick up my car when it is done, but that isnt enough to make me go anywhere else. GREAT BUSINESS!!
These guys are controversial at best and predatory at worst. After being forced to use these guys after AAA towing you learn a few things. You will be taken advantage of and they will overcharge you when they can. These guys need to make money. These guys are not your friendly neighborhood mechanics that will fix your car on the cheap.... they will overcharge you when they can and if they can.Do. Your. Research.Reprogramming a computer should not cost more than $200... patching a flat should not cost more than $70.Bottom line is if you can avoid using them for service, don’t use them. If you’re stuck with them, know what you’re paying for.
Driver was rude and dissmissve. Spoke to the owner and he wasnt any better
Always prompt efficient tow services We ve been using them for years...wouldnt consider anyone else!
Best towing company in ct. Great trucks always cleaned customer service is amazing they will accommodate your needs also a great repair shops with competitive pricing. There was battery service is very knowledgeable and are always on time all in all lone star service is amazing 5 stars all day....
Always efficient and timely. Top notch service!
One of your tow truck drivers tried to run me off the road last night on I-95N. He was weaving in and out of traffic like a maniac, and cut back into the lane I was clearly trying to merge into as construction barriers were blocking the right lane. He came within 5 feet of killing me before speeding off to keep driving like a maniac. He should be fired or at the very least re trained. WHEN THE SPEED LIMIT SAYS 30, WHY ARE YOU WEAVING IN AND OUT AT AT LEAST 60.
Quick, efficient service. The staff was very helpful, accommodating and did exactly what they said they would do. I was even more ecstatic that they were able to save me money. I will be back again and sending referrals..
THE BEST IN THE BIZ!I have been using Lonestar for my fleet of service vehicles. Towing and Repair. Straight Shooters with Great Customer Service. When my trucks are off the road, it costs me MONEY, and Lone Star understands and gets me back on the road! 5 Stars!
They towed my car from my own lot even though it has the appropriate registration and sticker in the window. They then told me that I owe nearly $280 dollars due to the theft of my vehicle by them. I will be reporting them to the appropriate agencies and speaking to my attorney about proper recourse.
They have the cheapest prices and everything before it everyday and they have discount
Top Notch service, Quick response time & Super friendly staff. Thank you
Very reliable towing service. They always exceed my expectations.
Called AAA after my Accord overheated on 95. After being contacted, I was told it would be 30 minutes to be picked up. After 2 hours, I was picked up and told that there was a 10% discount if I had my car towed to their place rather than the place I originally asked to be taken to. I decided to give it a shot. The driver was nice and cordial. When I got the call the next afternoon, the female voice garbled something to the notion of 4 to 5 hundred dollars... I thought she said $45 dollars the way she spit it out. Alas, I go to the shop and realize it is $521. The bill did not state the hourly rate they charge, which was very suspect. I accepted my fate and drove home. The next day my car broke down again.. this time as a result of a misfire, which could have very well been a result of the work done the day before. So, I called AAA and they told me Lone Star was coming back out. This time I decided to have it dropped at my local garage instead of theirs. I cannot claim that their work the day before directly caused the misfire, but it is suspect, as is their hourly rate, which was not posted on their invoice for a car overheating. I was satisfied with towing service, but not with their operations on site. Despite their track record (25 years), it is difficult to see the merit in utilizing this establishment if their reviews have been less than reputable.
Ive never been one to post reviews but today I had such a great experience with Lone Star today I cant help but be compelled. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking automotive assistance. I called them seeking to jump my car but the knowledgeable gentleman they sent over diagnosed it as an issue with my key. He literally went the extra mile and drove me home to retrieve a working set of keys, and then back to my car, completely on his accord. He made what could have been a frustrating experience very manageable by means of his expertise and easy-going personality. I couldnt have been happier with the service. Again, I highly recommend them
Very good and friendly service
When I called I was told 10-15 minute wait. The driver was to me within 10 minutes. The driver was courteous and professional. The drivers name is John.
Terrible experience. Way too overpriced, and tow truck drivers were rude. Placed 2 starts ( and not one) only because of Kim (lady who answers the phone, guy who escorted me to the ward when picking up my things from my car, and guy who did paper work at the end. They charge $100 to move my (now not running car) 20 feet away from their yard because they dont allow other tow truck companies to pick it up? Another way to keep on squeezing money out of you.
I couldnt even get through the phone call with the woman who answered the phone - She seemed to either be completely incompetent, or was actively trying to get me off the phone so she did not have to do her job.I had to go somewhere else just so I could get on the phone with someone who understood words and numbers. TRIED TO GET ME TO PAY BEFORE THEY WOULD COME OUT
Friendly staff hard and fast workers people here have heart
They were kind to us in our time of need. Gave us extra time to clean out our totalled car and helped us get plates off. Nice people.
Legal scammers. They just want your money. Thats all they worry about
ONLY ACCEPTS CASHGot my car towed and they charge $235 for only a few hours and a half mile tow.Get there and they say they only accept cash. Good thing my friend drove me there. How would I go to an atm without a car? There are no other business nearby.ALSO they had a CARD READER next to the cash register. In addition, the staff are generally not helpful and sleezy. Feel like I’ve just been robbed.I give them a LONE STAR review. HAHA, get it? LONE star!
I had a bent rim. The guys too nice. Fixed in a minute. Great place
My car was towed by these guys because Walgreens reported. I understand it is not their fault, but, they need to be courteous. The receptionist is a lier and accused me of threatening her. The staff got into an argument with me when I asked for the details about when the car was towed and why.
I don’t recommend this place at all, a person that works here Facebook name Ace rondo in a tow truck posted car accident crashes on his Facebook and posts false information about deaths and people’s in critical conditions I’m wouldn’t give this place business.
I called these guys for a long-distance tow with a flatbed, not only do they give me a great price but they were on time, took the time to fasten down my items, were great to me and great to my staff I give them a 5-star review, thank you
The man behind the counter was rude. Told me I could only pay cash for a tow, never mentioned it on the phone. Told me a different price for the tow and storage on the phone.
By far the most dishonest group of trash around .One nice gentleman there but a disgrace To deal with . Completely lied to re towing of my car to my house and a 5 mile trip, which I, like an idiot, paid before hand, took over 5 hours. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone
These People are Crooks!! I was towed because my parking plack fell off my rearview but was still in the front passenger side floor, and was charged $276 for a 24hr span of which they held my car, I was charged $60 for which they considered 2days of storage (towed on the 8th and picked up on the 9th) but on my receipt it indicates first 5 days are $24 a day.. Towing $105, winching for the flat bed $90 THEY ARE ROBBING PEOPLE!!! I called twice and got 2 different totals, got 2 different times of which the car was actually towed from my residence.. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau Tomorrow Morning.. You Robbed the wrong single mother!!!
I brought in my older BMW with, what felt like, a million issues. They fixed every problem and did more within a short service visit. Reasonable and friendly.
Best service in town for all vehicles large or small i have been taking my vehicles there for many years
After waiting 2 hours for a tow, i called and was told they were responding to an accident and would be here in 15 minutes. still no truck 20 minutes later. total waiting so far 2 hours 35 minutes! Accident, there are no accidents in Stamford, I just verified with friends in SPD and no accidents in the past 4 hours at all. LIARS!
STAY AWAY!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! DO NOT FALL FOR THE FAKE REVIEWS ON HERE, THEYRE SCAMMERS!!!
Avoid this place at all costs. My motorcycle was involved in an accident and the police had it towed to lone star. Not only do they charge an absurd amount for towing a small motorcycle but they charge a storage fee without notifying you. On top of this they dont accept any modern form of payment to make it even more difficult to get your vehicle - they accept CASH ONLY. These people expect me to bring 500+ dollars in cash down to their shop after a wreck and continue to pile on storage fees with no remorse. The employees are crooked and refuse to help, in any way, the people that pay their bills. Its easy to see why they acceot cash only, they are cooking their books and i hope the IRS nails this crooked shop and their rude employees are forced to make a living under normal circumstances. This place is trash.
Leo was great and super patient! After experiences with sketchy companies and drivers, it was a relief!
This place is terrible. My car was towed parked at a visitors spot and when I called the number (which by the way it says is 24 hours) they told me they only open 8-5 and I would have to wait until the next morning to get the car. Thats unacceptable. Specially since I was out with a small child on the street and no car. And the police was also useless.
Always very helpful
This place is a rip off. After they fixed my O2 sensor, it went bad in a week and they wanted me to pay again. Also in a really bad neighborhood and employees are trash.I think they post multiple good reviews for themselves because with how rude these employees are, no one could think they were good. The guy was talking to his friend when I walked in and told me to wait. 5 minutes later I told him his conversation could wait, he shook his head and got an attitude. Had to wait 15 minutes. Idiots and low life scum work here.
SCAMMERS! Don’t fix your car there. They want your money so bad. SCAMMERS
Had to have aaa tow a car for me off of I-95 operator said it would be 45min to an hour low and behold lone star showed up 15 minutes later, and the driver Tony couldn’t have been nicer!
My father was involved in a hit and run accident, no fault of his own, Police called this towing service to tow away his vehicle, less than 24 hours later he owed approximately $370 for their services For an 83 year old man with very limited income it is a huge financial hit, unfortunately for him this is none of Lone Stars concern. Luckily he was able to drive his vehicle out of their storage lot before Lone Star had an opportunity to inflict more finacial distress to my dad. I guess to these establishments its business as usual. However, very unfair when no other options were offered to my dad at the accident scene. Was any communication regarding service charges made verbally or in writing to my dad prior to Lone Star removing the vehicle from the accident site?..No... I dont think it would be out of line for this to be called predatory. Yes everyone wants to get paid, but in no way do I believe their charges are fair and reasonable. How would any rational individual give any sort of positive review for this? Even 1 star is wholly undeserved.
Very reliable professional service.
They are top notch and professional
Great Customer servicess and a lot of knowledge about cars.
Horrible experience! They overcharge for towing and are rude. I hope to never deal with them again! Unfortunately they are sometimes hired by AAA so it might be unavoidable if you have AAA. If you have a choice AVOID.
That was the worst experience I have ever had sat in my car for 3 hours then they picked me up and dropped my truck off a quarter of a mile down the street because they didnt want to go to my house 4 miles away only to wait for another tow oh by the way it was twenty degrees out thanks allot
My car has been towed and has only been there for only 1 hour & Im being charged $255. This place is overly priced smh
At 12:25 A.M on 11/17/18 a lone star driver was in the emergency lane. He was honking at me even thought he is driving illegally no emergency lighs. BAD DRIVERS!!!!Horrible company.
They charged me over $3000 for small repair and kept my truck hostage till I paid the bill. Im very disappointed.
Long wait, nasty attitude, and way too over charged. Wait hour and half to get a tire patch and was charged $47. I got similar patch work for $15 in New York. They took advantage of my emergency situation. Complete rip off.
Those guys are VERY expensive and have the worse service ever!!! Everybody stay away from this place!
Ok service at best.
