Ive lived here for 3 months, after the /owners/management changed recently-its honestly been a great place to live. Theyve renovated the units, hallways, and leasing office. Staff is actually very responsive and helpful when ever i have any questions. Im very lucky i moved here when i did, its a fantastic building and location being in front of the police station and minutes from the train station is more than ideal for me. Very pleased, highly recommend!
I love the new staff. They are very kind and respectful. I have never lived in a place that is so clean, and the maintenance staff is very helpful. I would recommend my friends and family to move in to Hoyt Bedford.
New Office Staff has been a pleasure! Michelle the new manager has been a breathe of fresh air, since I have lived here for the last 3 years I havent seen a manger who cares this much about the property. I highly recommend Hoyt Bedford to anyone moving to the Stamford area.
I am a realtor and I have rented apts in Stamford for the past 18 years. Hoyt Bedford was recently acquired by a new owner and they have done a fabulous job with the building! They are currently remodeling the hallways and have great plans for the apartments/ amenities and the property itself. The office is a pleasure to work with- They have come a long way in a short time! The growing pains seem to be over and everything is coming together!! They aim to please and it is very apparent!
The worst place, new management are the worst!!! A big mess here! The elevator was broken for one month... The garage was a disaster...flood...two weeks after the flood and still full of mud and dirty water... Can’t wait for my lease to end and move out from here. If you consider moving in, be aware of this...very expensive from what you get...the Management is two lost ladies in the office!!
Having the worst time trying to get my security deposit back. I moved out in May under old management. They told me they dont have it and the new company does. I have called the new management over 10 times in 3 months trying to get my money back. They keep saying they will call me back and never do. I am supposed to have my security deposit back within 30 days... I moved out 112 days.... so sick of this
Ive lived at hoyt bedford for 4 months now. I moved in shortly after the new management took over. While there were a few growing pains it seems to be a lot better. The staff is very responsive and helpful and there are many renovations being done to the building. My maintenance calls were answered ASAP. Im really happy with my apartment.
STAY AWAY !!!! The new management extremely worse.Greedy and rude. The maintenance does not exist.Even for very simple thing, you need to follow up multiple times and nothing can be sorted in less than a month and without paying. If you see any reviews with 4/5 stars, they are super fake. The 2/3 star ratings were for previous management..The current management deserves 0 stars.
Ive been having horrible issues with my fridge and my dishwasher and I cannot contact anyone to get it fixed. Also since the place started being managed by a different company they are trying to charge me an insanely higher amount for my rent with no notice, out of nowhere. They also provided us with a phone number that its probably not even working since whenever we call no one answers.I do not recommend anyone moving to these apartments under this new management.
I wish I can give 0 star here. Totally mess here! They changed management group at middle of my lease and brought so much headache for my account. Never able to connect their office phone and had to stop by several times. People working there surely don’t know what they doing and unresponsive. Totally wasting my time and let me reach out for some payment company for my monthly payment. Elevator broken for 2 months so far no one fix it. Can’t wait my lease end and move out from here. If you consider moving in, be careful.
Update to living here: the place has gone under new management and we cannot get in contact with anyone. They have tried to raise our rent by charging us an unknown charge. This disaster continues here. The old management company left us feeling very unsafe and helpless. The new management company will not even answer the phone. Do not be fooled, it is not a good place to live.On a side note: the laundry room is also a horrible place. One of the washing machines doesn’t always start, and to make everything worse, if you are even a second late to get your laundry, it’s common a tenant will just empty the machine and leave your wet clothes for you to find.
HiI currently live in 140 Hoyt street apartments, there is a big issue with elevator, the elevator gets stuck every day in the evening and the worst part is my husband stuck in the elevator last week for 30 mins with no signal, really felt helpless. When we call the operator they hung up the phones and if you try calling to leasing office next day they transfer you to the building manager who doesn’t answer the call. Please do not rent this place I’m feeling struck here looking forward to end of lease. And the elevator problem continues.
Recently, my wife and I moved here So far, our experience here has been very good: our apartment has really good quality fixtures, the landscaping is nice and well kept, and maintenance orders get resolved super quick thought we have only had to call once. This is an ideal location and seems very safe with the police station across the street. The grocery store is like a 3 min drive and there is a Trader Joes in Stamford about a 10 minute drive more North Stamford.
My boyfriend and I lived together in a one bedroom apartment at 100 Hoyt. We never understood, no matter how often we asked it to be explained to us, how the payment plan worked. And somehow we laped on a payment and they have this system where if you do miss a payment this leftover money is meant to help that I guess as credit and it got used up without our knowledge and due to covid-19 and we have since moved out, they expect us to pay it, three months after we are gone. It makes no sense. It feels very predatory to me since the new covid stimulus is meant to help for our survival and they want our money now. We did an amazing job cleaning up the place and our pipes in the kitchen and the bathroom became leaky which was acause as to why we wanted to move and they are also charging us for this as well. The time spent there was alright, walls are super thin, floors uneven, there is always a weird smell, can hear everyones business, cigarette smoke lingers from the outdoors if youve got open and drafty windows, our windows were very difficult to pull up or downthe place is very cold in the winter. I may have been too naive moving in here with my boyfriend. If you find any other place to live, please heed my warnings. They are not nice here!
This is a great neighborhood for being outdoors--lots of great parks and running areas, the beach is here really nice, plus a short walk to several restaurants and coffee shops. I would recommend this area for young couples or for those who do not want to buy in this market. Stamford is ideal for commuting to NYC and I walk to train station.
I have two medium size friendly dogs which brought me to this place because they allowed me with open arms to rent my apartment. I have a private entrance apartment, which Im thrilled with because of COVID and it is easy access for me and the dogs. The staff is always attentive, and the other residents are overwhelmingly friendly. This is a great building for those who are comfortable living in a big city environment but also want their own private space.
This place is terrible. Don’tmove here!
My experience has been nothing but excellent and smooth. They communicated with me every step of the way, which made it very easy for me to make the proper choices prior to moving in. Feeling good about my choice to move here. Apartment is rather large and the location is everything.
I live here now and it is terrible. The owner of the whole complex makes this place unsafe and unhealthy to live in.
Apartment was left in good condition, keys and parking pass returned. 4 MONTHS AFTER MOVE-OUT and STILL NO SECURITY DEPOSIT. NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER FROM MANAGEMENT AND WILL NOT ANSWER E-MAILS. RENTER BEWARE
Good things here include reasonable rent, good space for the price, location is close to train, nice people in office. Not a fan of having no washer and dryer in the apartment but gave it up for the extra needed space for all my kids toys.
I am living in this building for few years at 140 Hoyt street, This place has began to rotten elevator shuts down every day, no proper management to fix this issue most of tenants are moving out please don’t consider this building for renting waste of money and time ………
Well I stay here for more than 2 years.. they have the WORST elevator. They are small not spacious though thats manageable but they get stuck most of the time and doesnt work remaining time.
Really nice community driven apartment. There is mix of multicultural community in this place. The leasing and administrative office very organized and structured. Very close to downtown and accessible to most of the facilities like clinics and schools.
Great location, the best advice I have when looking in Stamford for an apartment is to be close to Downtown. Traffic here is bad. Being able to walk to everything is key. Very clean apartment when I moved in and great neighbors. People even helped me move my things from the elevator door to my apartment door. So glad to be surrounded by people I can trust. Stop and shop is less than a 10 minute walk but just across the street is Rite Aid for milk, eggs, cereal etc. Enjoyable renting process and so far all is good.
One of the worst leasing experiences I have ever had. The most unprofessional and unhelpful staff. DO NOT RENT HERE! Unless you want to over pay for a smokey building with an elevator that breaks often with tenants trapped inside.
Nice Apartment, Good Location Close to downtown Stamford
I wish I could give this building no stars. It is over priced for all its problems. The elevator breaks down all the time. And the person they call to fix the elevator says that the building refuses to fix the actual problem so it will keep breaking down. The building is infested with roaches. DONT MOVE HERE!!
Terrible
