Shared with me, after I became homeless. What a blessing.
VITA training (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance). If you make less than 66k a year and typically pay someone to do your taxes, you may want to check out this free service. Sometimes centers are busy and there are long wait times.
United Way teamed up with the IRS and give Free Tax training and once you pass the free IRS exam you can volunteer to help in the community. I Highly recommend the training as it helps you learn the current years tax laws for personal use and allows you to volunteer in communities in Davidson and/or Williamson county!!!
Good stuff and very good tools
Went for a meeting lunch is always good
I think partnering with lyft is a great idea (i am currently homeless and without a vehicle), but I think they need to implement a separate phone line for those calls perhaps. Not sure how Im supposed to get to a medical appt or interview, both of which are time sensitive, when I cant even get through to arrange the ride. Im in fact still waiting, been 1:56:04 and counting. I was supposed to be there for 2pm and its 1:40pm.... Kinda doesnt actually help if this is the way it goes. Im rescheduling and trying to come up w bus money instead I guess ... At this point Im just staying on the phone if anyone answers at all. This is the same line as crisis???!! I think I would have killed myself by now if thats what I was calling about, smh. Officially over 2 hours waiting now... Its a Thursday.
This organization does AWESOME work in the community!!!
