A good place for the price. I like that I am able to pay rent and still be able to save money too. Their maintenance is top notch. As soon as I have a need, they take care of me. Very nice guys that do their very best to get the issue corrected. Getting into the apartment was a pretty easy process, complete the application through email, signed all the forms through email and within 2 weeks I was in my place. Melissa (Apartment Manager) has always been easy to reach, if she is out, she always calls or emails back pretty quickly. Only draw back for me is the units dont have washer /dryer hookups, but there is a laundromat next door.
I have rented from Springfield Development for 15+ Years. I like the floor plan of the apartment & it has a price within my fixed income.The part I like most is that I can rely on the maintenance people to come fix whatever needs to be done …. they want to keep the apartments nice & in working order.I have no complaints about any people or any policies….
They were very quick to run my application and to get me moved in!Been there 3 months and had no issues at all! I love it
My husband and I lived here for 6 months. The ladies were extremely rude the entire time. They constantly put a boot on our cars even though we had our parking stickers in the place they said they needed to be, and we were parked in our assigned spots. They knocked on our door at 11 pm demanding money to take the boot off our car, or they would tow it. One of the office ladies said her husband owned the towing company that they did business with. They took advantage of the fast that we were young and it was our first place so we didn’t know any better. We found out after we left it is illegal for them to boot a car and tow it immediately. They would have to let it sit for 3 days with no contact form the owners.They gave us a lease violation for noise complaints the day we moved in, but it was just me and my husband and we weren’t making any noise.This place is a huge scam and I don’t know how they get away with everything they are doing.
Great relationship with tenants. Keeps up with maintenance and fast to do anything to help make renting easier.
My place had black mold in it they would not resign my lease and had no reason wen ask why they told .w they dont need a reson.. watch out for that hypocritical lie hippo melissa she a piece of trash I hope find her way to the can. Trust no on here
Worst company I have ever dealt with. Deserves zero stars. They are rude, shady, incompetent, and uneducated people. Save yourself the headache and never even think about renting from this company. They should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of people and then trying to lie to make their tenants look awful when I fact they are the ones that are awful.
Really affordable and on the south side of town. Most places that are this price are on the north side which is not good crime wise.
Good place to rent if you are trying to save money to buy a house. The apartments arent the taj mahal but that is obvious because the prices are reasonable. They are REALLY strict about paying rent on time though so just beware.

I have lived at belcrest apartments almost 3 years as I am saving for a house to buy if you are doing the same it is great space 2 bedroom apartments for affordable rent 425 upstairs is what I pay and 465 for downstairs is what I hear my neighbors say. Its actually pretty quiet neighborhood and people are friendly. I really have enjoyed living here...
This company took my money for a application fee and told me I can get it back. Denied me due to being beat by my ex husband and him being evicted not me. Told me they don’t care. Worst customer service ever!!!!!
The staff is horrible they are very rude they charge you for cleaning when the place was already cleaned they charge ernous fees and just make rules as they go and fees as they go. DONT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE.
Terrible company. Dishonest cheats. Moved out after 3 years and was robbed of my security deposit. Left it “spotless” according to them but only received 20% of the $500 I placed down due to being charged for repainting the apt. Repainting an apt in between tenants is typically a landlord’s responsibility. Not here... BLACK MOLD issues in the kitchen, entry, and the closet with the water heater and heater. Imagine the millions of spores blown around through the duct system.. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. They also enjoy booting your guests’ vehicles and demanding cash on the spot. Scam artist. Need to be shut down.
The Apartment complex managers are TOXIC AF. I lived here for over 2 years, roaches crawl in under the door, and they will boot your friends cars without warning if they park in the wrong spot, and demand money on the spot. The ladies in the office are very rude and dishonest, do not trust them.
These people are super rude, for some reason.... im not even sure what i did, and i get the strong impression from my neighbors that the management wont tell me. it sounds like their policies are kind of made up, especially when you ask about them... they told me, with the strangest assortment of words, that you cant have anything glass in your unit or someone could fall and hurt themselves. or whatever. when you sign a lease, its a big sign of trust, as long as you know what youre doing. you are showing them that you trust that they wont try to use some of their policies to try to screw you. the people running this company do not understand this, nor do they understand that they NEED tenants in order to pay their bills. the unit is fine, but the management is really awful. this doesnt include their maintenance crew, since theyve been really nice!
If I could give 0 stars I would. It was a problem from the beginning. On there website it said you needed to have 3 times monthly rent for your income gross which I had. I paid the $35 application fee. I am told that I am declined due to it being net not gross. I requested I have my app fee back in that case because I wouldn’t have put it in if that is what the website said. I sent them a screen shot and they made an exception and have now also corrected the site. I thought everything would be fine from then on. I was told the carpet needed to be replaced but they wouldn’t replace it because they said they would have to charge a higher rent. I said that’s fine can you just clean it. They told me it would be professionally cleaned. Later I was told by the neighbors that they had someone come in that rented from them and they borrowed her shampooer. I let it go as this was a temporary place until I found a house. I paid 250 per pet for a pet deposit. 1 cat and 1 small dog that are both house trained. I paid a $400 deposit as well. I was raised that when you rent you take care of the place better then your own because it isn’t yours to destroy. When I moved out the place was spotless. I cleaned the floors better then they were when I moved in. I scrubbed the place. It was spotless for what it was. I filled all nail holes that I put in the walls. The place was nice in ready minus a fresh coat of paint and them needing to replace the carpets from before I moved in. Now today I get a bill in the mail saying I am not getting any of my deposit back which I have NEVER experienced in the 10 years that I had rented in the past keep in mind multiple different places. Not only am I not getting my deposit back they are saying I owe them $340 more on top of the 400 they kept from me. They are charging $460 for paint labor which the nail holes were patched and the walls weren’t bad. $100 for cleaning labor when I know good and well they didn’t need to clean anything and $180 for carpet cleaning which I know you could not get them any cleaner then I did due to the fact to them looking nicer then when I moved in. I am livid. Do NOT rent from these people. This is shady to me. They are unfair and awful to work with. They are just out to get more money for jobs that cost much less then what they charge.
Absolutely the worst company in Greene County. The ladies in the office are rude and all have very poor attitudes. I recieved emails every couple of months stating they will be charging you for something random like blinds, garden hoses hooked up, pet waste... anything to charge you extra. If I could Rate 0 Stars I would, HORRIBLE!!DONT MOVE HERE INTO ONE OF THEIR PLACES UNLESS IT IS FOR LESS THAN 6 MONTHS.We lived there for a year and half, paid our rent on time, only asked 2-3 times to have things fixed, never caused any problems. We work many hours and keep our place clean.We had an emergency one evening that involved a fire, called the emergency line, an hour later my significant other asked me to call again since I hadnt heard anything, called again and the person that answered informed me they would call me.The next day at noon I still had not received a call. Called the main office, they informed me they didnt even know about the fire. They informed me they would send maintenance out. A gentleman came out to fix was what broken and caused the fire. I asked him to make thoroughly look at everything to ensure it would not happen again.The next evening it stopped working. Sent an email to see if we could get a new one since it was old but they tried to fix it again, which is fine, but after a week we had not heard anything and it still wasnt fixed. I wasnt even sure if they were actually working on things.They dont call to ensure that things will get fixed or to even check to make sure we were ok after a fire. Ridiculous!!

I kept my apartment clean, the only thing that was messed up when I left was one blind, they still over charged me on the blind compared to the pricing on my agreement when I signed my lease. They charged me a ridiculous amount on things that made no sense, which I will NOT pay.I should have still received a deposit instead Im left with a collection of $600. DO NOT TRUST THESE IDIOTS.
We were looking for a place through them and when we went to complete the application they told us they couldnt rent to us due to bad credit. Upon reviewing my credit history none of the things they had mentioned where on it, however a request was made for the wrong person under my ssn. I called them back and they made no intention to help or fix their mistake. DO NOT TRY TO RENT FROM THEM!!! You WILL waste money on application fee.

Do Not expect help from them! I called to complain on a neighbors dog... I was told to handle it myself, which led to further problems. Now the entire situation is uncomfortable. They will not help you, in anyway, there Philosophy is to let the neighbors handle it among themselves, and if that doesnt work to involve the police. You will never feel as if they have your back in any occurrence. There is not a safety and security feeling here. I would advise anyone with children to keep looking. Springfield development Company takes no accountability for anything that happens in their apartments. If you think I am exaggerating in anyway, make the mistake of moving here. I bet after 2 months, you will wish you would have listened.
I am sorry I have to give one star. This is a very BAD company. They take multiple application fees for same property. After two days they tell me they rented property and asked if I want a more expensive property. They collected at least three app fees that I know of on same property. And, the property is still showing available now! 3 days after they told me it was rented!Then I was rudely told first come first serve. I was also told I should never call back or they would call police. I have reported them to better business bureau.They will steal your money. This type of company (and employees), you DO NOT want to do business with. I am moving from TX to MO and I have never been treated so poorly.BEWARE OF THEIR DEALINGS!!!!!
Just moved in to belcrest and i can already tell that the staff for the company is rude, uninformed, defensive, slightly unintelligent, and doesnt even completely understand their own policies. it felt like they were giving me plicy explanations that were made up on the spot because they werent making sense... either that, or they think im a moron. based on the logic they provided me, no glass objects are allowed in the units. since this makes no sense, i will be verifying this. not once through the lease signing process was there not a one-inch thick piece of glass between me and an employee. right at the getgo they are damaging the landlords employee / tenant relationship. the place is decent for the price im paying, so far. a lot of move-in fees... wow. most coaxial hookups are painted. onsite laundromat is cavernous, and i most likely wont use it. also, pet friendly turned out to be false advertising. it should have been cats and dogs only.
The complete and utter lack of professionalism is insulting (staff is always rude and inconvenienced). Weve been here 2 years then today they took rent a couple days early and threatened to evict us by Monday(keep in mind they told us Friday afternoon, and theyre closed all weekend). Incredibly selfish and uncaring as evident by the other 15 negative reviews and their apathetic attitude towards possible eviction over getting paid one day later.Their so unprofessional we cant even complain to the owner just the manager who left the threatening voicemail.
Currently living in the South Vale Terrace location. Terrible place to live. Tons of black mold in the utility closet directly by the heater...who knows what kind of spores Im breathing in! The cabinet FELL off the wall due to it being molded out, breaking all of my drinking glasses, of course no type of compensation and no they did not fix the mold issues. Also they boot peoples cars that dont have a parking sticker. MO statute says a landlord may remove the vehicle from the property aka tow the car. Not ride around in your personal car wearing pajamas and smoking cigarettes booting vehicles. The. Have the audacity to KNOCK on my door at 10 at night and request a $170 boot removal fee!!! Extortion maybe? DO NOT RENT. UNINHABITABLE.
The management does NOT deserve even 1 star. They are the most unprofessional and rude people I have dealt with as far as property managers are concerned. When you ask for anyone above them, they REFUSE to give any names or numbers. If a person worked in my company that spoke to a tenant or anyone for that matter, the way they speak to people they would never work another day for me. This looks terrible on the company itself. Who would allow an employee to treat people in such a horrible manner. Speaking of manners, they obviously have none.

Terrible company. When I looked at my current apartment a year ago, the price was originally $675. After expressing interest, they raised it to $725, stating the reason was new carpet and flooring. Okay, understandable, I get that. But when my roommate and I went to sign the lease, the rent increased to $795, stating that this increase was because we were bringing pets into an apartment with new carpet and flooring. No mention was made of this policy prior, even though I stated numerous times we would be bringing pets. They did not care and since we had no time left to find any other place, we had to just deal with it.Fast forward a year later, I want to move out and have someone ready to take my place on the lease. They now want to raise the rent by another $20 a month for former roommate and the new tenant, go no reason other than Its policy. We ask for the contact information for someone above the office workers, who are absolutely no help, and are told policy is dictated by any out-of-state corporate office. We pointed out their website says they are a locally, family owned business, and are met with stutters and the insistence that it is corporate owned. We say fine, give us the number for corporate. They deny us, first stating they will not risk their jobs over altering policy or for giving us the corporate number, then altering their statement to say they do not have the number for corporate and we can call if we can find the number online. The blonde woman also stated that if my former roommate was unhappy with the policy, he could put his 60 day notice in and find somewhere else to live because they have a waiting list of potential tenants. Needless to say, I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.And never expect any help from the office workers. They never give you all the information you need. I lost track of how many times I walked into the office to sign a document or form, only for them to tell me I didnt have all the proper documentation or procedure, despite asking numerous times, thus having to leave and come back another day.These people are crooks and care only about your money, not you. Please, if you have other options available, do not willingly move into these properties.EDIT: So I love that SDC waited 4 years to respond to this review which I originally wrote in 2017. They also responded to every single negative review on the same day as well. So to respond to their response, I never actually filed a complaint with the BBB because I didnt want to give this disgusting company any more of my time. Considering that, their response means other people also found their business practices distasteful and filed their own complaints accordingly.I edit this in July of 2021 for reference. This company is still unprofessional. This company is still childish given the attitude of their responses; notice they didnt respond to any part of my review except for what they thought was my BBB complaint. Instead of taking the criticism and seeing what they can improve, they lash out to justify why their company is such a dumpster fire. I still strongly recommend against anyone renting with them unless you literally have no other option. If the trolls in the front office who respond to these posts because they have no other job duties than making people miserable see this, I laugh at your efforts to belittle and marginalize your terrible reviews and 1 star rating. If you worked as hard as being a reputable company as you do responding to google reviews and changing policy on the fly to screw over tenants than SDC may actually be worth recommending. But my experience with you leads me to believe anything but.

Rude and incompetent staff with poorly managed and maintained properties.
They wont work with you when you have an emergency. I had a heart attack and they charged late fees at $10 a day and then attorney fees to file eviction terrible policy. Also they put in new windows but didnt caulk them so the wind just whistles through them and the roof leaks and needs replaced bad but they dont care. The are over priced for what you get.
They rented to my family, we were late but it was Christmas time, they decided to evict me and my small children. Very merciless company and caused us to go homeless due to the eviction

Very bad bed bug infestation in more than one of the buildings. Half of the washers and dryers in the laundry building dont work and the walls are covered in mold. Very rude and hateful management personnel.
