Horrible place if you HATE ur kids send em here because they will be messed up for life. Thats from experience
Don’t make your kids come here
DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE. This facility is very cult like with daily meditation, doing “special dances” for the staff, and being around other kids who are as naive to all the stuff as you. Want to have trip wire alarms by your bed? Go ahead! Want to cry every night for 90 days only hoping to see someone from your family? Why not! Want to get a nervous peeing disorder for when you leave to a temporary foster home where they give you diapers being age 11? Sure! Then send your children here. I will never send my children to a place like this. It’s disgusting and twisted and quite frankly reminds me of an asylum. Please, if you love your kids do not make the same mistake my mother did.
I was a patient here. There was a lot of violence, screaming and yelling. They alarm the beds so you could never really get a good nights sleep. I was praying that I got to leave soon. I also spent most of the days crying. I saw so many kids being miss treated and I never had that happen to me luckily. But I do not think this place should be a place for children
Its great i don have to deal with my sister and the patients are there lying they dont like being calm and having no conflict
I’ve only been to the school campus on two occasions, but have observed students being treated with love and respect. The counselors and other staff are amazing.
Heed 5 ICEs warning. This place can be potentially dangerous for your childs mental well-being. It is true, there is a heavy alarm system in place that keeps children awake, calling out throughout the night movement in room ___, movement in room ___. The babylonian fear-mongering system in place breeds blind compliance above all else to the system. Meditation, which is part of their daily routine can be extremely beneficial to a persons well-being, look up the benefits, but the remainder of this program has the potential to be harmful depending on how sensitive the child is. This place is really not designed for sensitive types. and if you were a child who may have been traumatized here, just realize that there is healing and peace available to you in each moment through learning mindfulness and yoga.
My daughter has been here since January. While just a few of the young staff members have been nice, the office and management are horrible communicators and are verbally and physically inappropriate with discipline with the children. My daughter is waiting for a move date and it cant happen soon enough. Shes miserable and has seen and heard some horrific measures of discipline no child should see. They have no access to proper medical attention as I have driven back and forth from LO to Eugene to manage her healthcare. This place is a joke and its truly a cult-like atmosphere. All its missing is the punch to drink.
This facility, like most, feeds hard-to-control young developing bodies heavy psychotropic mind-control drugs which turns them into joy-less, complacent, drooling robots. These medications, such as adderall (fancy name for amphetamine!), risperdal have the potential to damage their minds for life, leaving them permanently dependent and/or with permanent side effects like tardive diskinesia (facial twitching for life). Real healing does not come from feeding children western chemical medication, real healing comes from healthy food, herbs, nature, and love. This is little more than a brainwashing facility, a prison for children with so much structure that it makes the children slaves dependent on a system that is absolutely broken. The children who are in-line with the system are patted on the head, and those who arent are treated poorly.
The director of Jasper Mountain center, who is also the owner of both facilities, Jasper and SAFE is an arrogant creep, who is very much out of touch with reality. He constantly toots his own horn about how smart and rich he is, and how great his facility is. On the other hand, I have spoke to many employees at this agency over the years and have heard the same things from every one - there is some truly evil stuff that happens here, and this facility is grossly mismanaged. This place, like most facilities, does more trauma than good to the childrens already traumatized minds.1)The management encourages its staff members to literally break the law in regards to containment holds, at their risk, not his. Instead of putting the children in safe rooms like most facilities, children are often violently restrained in ways that definitely could be categorized as child abuse. i.e. shoved in corners, sat down forcefully, or picked up by the arm and dragged away from the other children.2)The director meets with the children every Sunday morning to literally indoctrinate the children with his liberal christian views (which is highly insensitive to children in the program who have alternate views), and afterwards he awards two hugs to the children who have been very compliant, one hug to the children who have been mostly compliant, and the children who have a hard time following directions because of their traumatizing past are simply neglected (which is extremely messed up, some of these kids who have a hard time listening need love the most). Drawing this parallel between following rules, and love/affection is a very dangerous one to draw in the mind of a child.3)The management has really gone out of their way to screw over loyal employees. The pay is very sub-par in relation to the amount of work put in, there arent any breaks (Which is also breaking the law), and in addition, when the minimum wage gets raised employees who have been there for a long time dont receive anything more than the minimum, meaning people who have put in a lot of work for the agency basically get metaphorically spat and shat on, getting paid what brand new employees there are paid. Meanwhile, Dave Zeigler brags about being a rich millionaire while on shift with horribly paid and over-worked treatment team.4)The children spend LARGE amounts of time indoors (often even when it is not raining outdoors they are kept inside), and are basically only fed bread and carbs at almost every meal. Almost no fruit or vegetables enters these childrens bodies. They are fed in the cheapest manner possible to increase the bottom line. They are kept on lockdown to a sick degree here, these kids belong in nature and fresh air, not a dusty box 23 hrs a day. These main points sum up the messed up things that happen at this facility. I highly encourage you - if you are considering working here, steer clear and work for an agency that will value you. and if you have a child in this facility to keep very close tabs on your child and what is happening in this program. and if you are a child who has been through this program, realize it is not your fault for the terrible things that may have happened to you at this facility.
Im a little concerned about my son and the youth here after what Ive heard about this place. I hope all is well here but just to make sure Im sending Dhs and The Authorities there to check on things..
I drive for a school district, driving a student to this school and have witness many questionable things on top of illegal things they have done. doing therapy sessions this students mother has said no to. telling me that I dont need to pick him up that I should of been notified....fortunately I called them out on this and made phone calls to the mother and our school district found out it was a lie. it took over half an hour for them to bring him out. I have 2 special needs kids myself and have recieved training in how to handle aggressive behavior and will also soon recieve OIS training, which I have done much research on. The way I have seen them physically handle kids while I was waiting for them to bring out my student, is appalling and I have heard other employees speak very rudely and unappropriately to these students. These poor children already have suffered so much and now they are suffering at the hands that are suppose to save them
I went here and change my life and I hope to work here with the horese
They don’t know how to hold children right
