Went in just to get an idea on mower told the older gentleman I was there just looking. Made it clear I wasnt buying today and he said ok if u have any questions to not hesitate and ask. He must have saw me looking at the stand on when I was walking and and just gave me his opinion on the best one they had and just let me browse with no pressure to buy or anything. Cant wait to pull a trigger on a mower I will definitely be here for the buy. Best 2 brands in the business sitting here.

Great shop. Needed Snapper lawn blade and they had it at a price better than ebay. I have personally been to this establishment several times getting blades and carb gasket. On a later visit I was in need of a pressure washer and Carpenters had a used one that needed minor work as it was told to me before buying. Got it home and couldnt get it to perform exactly like I needed. Took back to Carpenters and explained what was going on. Was offered several options and I choose to get money back which Carpenters did and I choose to buy a new washer from them in return. This is a great place and I feel the staff is honest and very helpful. They could have told me sold as is but instead without argument they took care of my situation. I highly recommend Carpenters for all your lawn mower and Stihl needs. I will go back and recommend them to othes. FYI they sell zero turns also.

Super friendly! The guy was very nice and helped answer all our questions and got our weed eater all set up with the blade attachment and showed us how to do it. Made sure it started and filled it up so we could use it as soon as we got home.

I sure took the part off and brought it to you without any college experience, idiot. I just needed a replacement part that you couldnt help locate. Called today because. I guess they carried parts was looking for . Talked to Walter ask info why could be doing what the item was doing . Which already knew why but . He said could get one part for 15 and some change and the other part was around 8.00 then says then we will boost the price up to 100 dollars for putting the parts on . I said thanks but . I was only needing to order the parts. Wow all the sudden he got really upset and very rude . So I guess the way he stated guess you cant get parts unless they install items . That was from that person what he said.wasnt very happy so again have no clue

I went in to get a belt for my riding lawn mower I had my old one with me he told me to look for a number on the belt which couldnt find one any other place would have just measured the belt and gave me one that would match it but this guy was rude to us and said that he couldnt help us without a part number we walked out and will never be back

I’ve been to this place a few times and I’ve got to tell you, it is one of the best small businesses I’ve visited in quite some time. Service at the time of sale is excellent, pens on instructions on how to use the equipment. Service after the sale is even better. So far I’ve bought a weedeater and chainsaw from these folks and if it deals with lawn and garden, this is where I will be going. Far better service and customer service than any of the big box stores.I was in a hurry the other day when I picked up my chainsaw. I called them and told them and I was on my way when I got there it was ready and I was out in five minutes with it gassed up tuned up and ready to go! It’s not some college kid working behind the counter that has no interest in the equipment that they are selling, these guys know what they are doing and are happy to share their knowledge if you ask. They are in every bit of a five star review. Thanks for the great experience guys!Did I mention that they were the same price or cheaper than the big box stores? Yep, that’s true too. Outstanding.

Absolutely one of the best locally owned shops I’ve been to been doing business there for the last seven years they know me by name. I’ve got three mowers chainsaw weedeater power washer only place I want to go for any of my needs. Jake is absolutely wonderful Ben’s over backwards to help everybody one of the best salesman I’ve ran into in many years. The old man he’s a little grumpy at times but very hilarious it all comes down to you treat people the way you want to be treated and that’s the way they treat you. I have been there several times when people have gone sideways and the old man has had to set them straight and it basically comes down to people just don’t like that well don’t act a fool and you won’t be treated like one. You won’t find a better place to buy your equipment get your things serviced then right here.

Echo 590 has been a great saw. Told them it wasnt running right and saw was not putting out enough oil. Paid $109. Saw starts and runs but has less power and still having issue with overheating bar and chain. Not happy. Will look for another saw repair shop that can work on Echo brand saws.

Interesting exchange with someone behind the counter today. Had to purchase here for same day repair on mower. Part is $11-12 at Honda of the Ozarks but here is $28 (w/tax) this resulted in a wow from me and maybe because I was wearing a mask... that wow resulted in a hateful diatribe do you know what that item cost? (me - yea?) and do you know how much it cost to run this business? ... i should have walked out.. wish I had and ordered online..I do want to support local business .. but not when they act like a**holes. Maybe he was having a bad day, he didnt have to ruin mine.

We called to order a tuneup kit for our lawnmower. When asked if you offered curbside pickup, you actually laughed. Do you even realize the message you sent? We ordered the kit from Amazon and probably will not consider your little business for future needs.

All I know is that those two guys behind that counter when you walk in, know more about lawn & garden machines than any shop in the area.Of course the place has been open since Don himself opened it in the mid 1950s. Being in business that long id probably be a Dr. Of lawn machine to. BUT I enjoy using them to much.. Gotta love the place ..

Had to have my mower fixed. The handle snapped at the top. Asked them to replace my blade as well. Got the mower back and it was cleaned with new handle installed and new blade. Looks better now than it has in years. Work was great and timely for having a repair done at the height of the season.Not the first time I have been there and I will be back.

Went in to inquire about a pressure washer because online and the products wedsite list them as a Karcher Authorized Service tech, and I told started to tell him what was going on and he rudely interpreted me with attitude that we dont repair Karcher here and havnt in 3 years, because we had issues with being paid, so Goodluck with you problems and as I told him how I ended up at his store was because he was still actively listed as somewhere I can have my product repaired under warranty, and just kept saying I dont know Goodluck I dont know i cant help you very rude sucks I have to drive out of town to get fixed, but definitely glad it wasnt here, bad customer attitude

Good but very high 85 an hour labor

While their bedside manner isnt over the top I am really only there to have my saws worked and maintained. I dont care if they dont act like my best friend when doing so. Ive taken several saws to them and every one of them have been returned working much better than when they went in. In the instance they were unable to fix my saw I got a call and we were able to go from there. They have worked on my pressure washer and I feel they are great small engine mechanics. I trust them with all my small engine needs.

Great guys came in to get some head bolts. They didnt have them but filled my order didnt have to pay until they came in and I bought a Makita 36v chain saw from them. They treated me like a regular customer thats in every week and I only come in once a year or so.

Zero stars if I couldSimply called in for a quote and basically got an employee that was very rude and acted like he did not have time to talk on the phone. He got very agitated and irritated when all I needed to know was could they put an engine in a Toro zero turn lawnmower he wanted the model number, I gave him every number I could find and basically told me he couldn’t help me but he would just go ahead and quoted it being at least $1200 to fix it for a zero turn motor. I’ve called around every other place in town had no problem with giving them the numbers that I have on there and then tell me exactly what motor it was and cost to fix it ranging from $400-$600 this place I’ve not personally been too butfrom just a conversation over the phone I would never take my business there!! Rude and will over charge for no reason. If you can’t be nice to your customers over the phone, why would anybody bring any business to you. It’s not like there the only repair shop in town. I recommend any place other than this shop!

They did a really nice job fixing my chainsaw and their labor rates were very fair. I would highly recommend them for any repairs to your chainsaw or mower.

If you are thinking of taking something here, you would do best by checking yourself into a mental health institution and undergoing a full psychiatric evaluation. I called them June 27th--they said they were 1.5 weeks behind. I dropped my mower off June 28th. I call them 2 weeks later--I am about 5 behind. I call them 3 weeks later-about 2 behind. I call them the day before I am to leave on vacation to let them know I will not be able to pick up the mower in the next 9 days. 8 days after that I call them and my mower has still has not been worked on. I pick up my mower, and now that I finally have time to work on it, I fix it myself in about 1 hrs 10 minutes (including driving time to get parts) for $10 in parts. I used it about 6 hrs today. 30 days it spent there for 1 hr worth of work that was supposed to be done within 2 weeks. This is not the Carpenters of old--I didnt recognize see any of the people that were there when I bought this lawnmower there.

These guys are great. They have a younger staff than most places in town and are more than qualified to help you. Go see them!

This places reviews were suspect when I looked them up on-line. I called on Monday morning, 9:30 a.m. I was interested in buying a newself-propelled lawn mower for my son. The man answered my questions for a few minutes and then promptly said, I dont need to be rude, but I have five people standing here that I need to get to . Understandable, but the man never offered to ask for my name & number to call me back. As a former salesperson & customer service advisor at a large retailer, I was taught never to underestimate that caller on the phone, as they are as valuable a potential customer as the person standing there in front of you. Thus, I feel as though I was put on the backburner by this dealership and will NOT be giving them my business. Nothing they can say will change my mind, as there are other businesses that sell mowers. I will tell others by word of mouth about them in addition to this posting. And all of this because of a lack of consideration by one employee. Oh well, You snooze, You lose ! This is why places go out of business .

Do not do business with this company. They are dishonest andlack integrity. We took something in for repair and was quoteda price and was told that if there was to be any additional cost,we would receive a phone call. No call, when we went to pickup the item, we were told it was more that twice the originalquote and if we didnt like it they would take our property apartand give it back to us. We were forced into a transaction ordestruction of our property, It was only a 30$ difference,however if they are doing this to us,they are doing it toeverybody...we argued our point, however they madeit clear they didnt care about our business or what wewere told by one of their employees. A complaint has beenfiled with the BBB in Springfield.

Never ever go here not the same place since Don sold it to these groomers they cant fix anything I have seen theyre repairs on many mowers and can honestly say they know nothing about mowers I know this because I have worked on mowers for over 40 years and Carpenters has gave me a lot of business.I could tell you some real stories about theyre repairs

Went in to have 5 chainsaw bars trued and 8 blades aharpened. Ask owner to Please leave bars in their boxes.He replied really grumpy. NO.I said a asked you please and said you have a aditied. Asked to speak to manager or owner. He said he owned the place. He then called me a BUNCH of nasty names and told me to get the F*** Out of his store. As i was leaving he was shouting all sorts of profanity at me. Im 67 years old and never saw such awful behaver by a bisiness owner in my life.

(UPDATE...same woman I spoke with this morning just called back to make a rude comment about this review! Apparently cant call if there is a problem with a part, but can if someone speaks out about it!) HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service, and very abrupt. Took newer Troybilt mower in for them to replace lower part of handle on mower. (my son bent it.) They had to remove to the upper handle to replace. When they put it back together, they overtightened the bolt, cracking the connection between the two handles. They sent it out the door this way, and it broke the first time we used it. Their answer: the part was very deteriorated. It wasnt, as this is a fairly new mower, but even if so, why didnt they point it out, or suggest replacing both? Why put a bad part back on? They obviously had to look at the connection in order to take it apart and bolt it together. Then they said it would be an additional THREE WEEKS before they could get a new one. TAKING IT TO VINTON SUPPLY AND THEY ARE FIXING IT THE SAME DAY!!

The worst case of so called customer service Ive ever seen. The know-it-all attitude and the holier-than-thou treatment is the reason I will never go to this hell hole ever.
