These guys are great. We had them put in a single speed pump and a pool heater. We had called around and no one else had them in stock or could get them installed this year, but the Pool Center found us everything and got us installed in 2 weeks! We were so happy with their service we’re hiring them to move our hot tub that was installed by a competitor. We’re so happy we found them. They’ve been great to work with at every step of the way. Do yourself a favor and call these guys because they’re great
These guys are great!! They always have the answers I need! I love this place
With pools and spas very difficult to purchase due to product shortages, the staff st the Pool Center went the extra mile to answer all of our questions knowing what we were looking for (a spa) likely would not be available for 6 months or a year or more depending on the model we choose. Excellent service!
I came in with family the other day due to an issue we were having with the PH balance of our backyard pool. Both Aiden and Chris got all the necessary information they needed from us and were able to help us out in no time at all. I even got to learn a little bit. Top notch customer service! 10/10
We have shopped here for years, Robert, who is always there, is THE BEST! Knowledgeable, educated, willing to go the extra mile to find out and or get you what you want or need. Last fall I discussed purchasing a hot tub from them. We wanted to buy local, and have local support after the fact. After several phone calls with Robert we agreed on the price and everything. He informed me that he would pass all the info over to the owners son who would make delivery arrangements. Three days go by and I hear nothing. I was in the neighborhood the following day, went in and the owners son was there, the hot tub I had negotiated and agreed to purchase was sold to someone else. I explained to him my disappointment and instead of saying something along the lines of “let’s get this figured out, let’s get another tub for you,” or anything in tune with providing quality customer service, he said it was all Robert’s fault and sent me away. I’ve tried repeatedly now to get in touch with the owner, Ed, to explain the situation, and try to figure it out. He refuses to return my phone call and we’ve not been back. Bottom line, Robert is amazing but owners family would rather pin their issues on there help then except responsibility and make things right. In response to the reply posted from the pool center. You obviously missed the part of the review where I praised Robert’s performance and knowledge. Also the attempted tub purchase was at the end of may, not in March, (beginning of the pandemic.) I offered to drop off a deposit. I was told that you wanted cash on delivery for the agreed upon price. The purpose of the review was to explain my true experience with this attempted purchase, and to get in touch with Ed regarding the situation, I’ve left messages with you to give your father, and obviously you refuse. You also miss quoted me, I told you I COULD buy one online much cheaper. After years of shopping at the pool center and establishing relationships with the employees it’s become painfully obvious that Ed’s children do not have the ability to carry on the legacy, that is unfortunate. People, it’s clear from the response that you will not be treated well at this establishment.
Fast, helpful and good prices
Aiden and Chris were amazing!! absolutely recommend then for your business needs, its refreshing to have customer service that actually cares!!!
Great customer service!
The go to store for pool supplies in Springfield.
Bad service and rude employees would not come back.
It’s one of those years when all you have are problems when opening your pool. Well the team at The Pool Center truly came thru for me!!!! I can’t thank them enough for their willingness to fit me in to their busy schedule. They truly were my saviors this past weekend. I will definitely do business with them in the future. Outstanding Job to the whole team. Well done!!!!!
Great store, very helpful employees. Had a filter worked on and it was finished in a snap! Employees were courteous and friendly. Recommended!
Staff is always knowledgeable and helpful!
July 7 - Following this review, I received a call from the Pool Center regarding my experience. Was very impressed with how apologetic and responsive to my concerns they were. Thank you to them for reaching out!July 4 - They have the products you need but they are extremely rude. I would not go back.
Professional, knowledgeable & fair pricing.
The pool center has been my go to for all of my pool issues and supplies. 10/10
Great to work with
Hello this is Joel from performance pools we are working with pool center Ed and Chris and the entire pool center staff I completely understand frustration this year myself as well as every pool company this year have been overwhelmed with pool supply service and installs I apologize for the wait on installs and service but the the weather and amount of calls weve had this year are extreme and we are working diligently to ensure that we are able to get the pools installed and the service work needed to ensure your pool is ready for you and your family thank you and have a wonderful day
Im looking to buy a Hot Tub...After reading the reviews...Very concerned about pricing them out and after purchase service.Chris O responds...but not seeing a reply that he fixed other customer issues.Other Pool and Tub companies in the Springfield area do seem to have much better reviews from customers.Sorry...your company scares me.Guess Ill go check out your competition.Hope you get your act together...Lost my business reading reviews about your store.
We absolutely love our new Hot Tub. The whole experience was so easy, great staff, with knowledge galore. Everything was explained, tested and brought to us with superior service. I will not go anywhere else for my Hot Tub needs. When you find the best in the business, you stick with them. Next on the list is talking the husband into a pool. I know where to start looking. Just need to get him on board.
Stay away from this company! First off they will not come out for service without your credit card number on file. I called for a service call for warranty work for a sand filter that I purchased from them for our in ground pool. They explained if the problem was not due to their filter I would be charged so much for the service call, mileage from the store to our home 30 miles away and their service man was $65 a hour. I felt certain the problem was the filter as the plug would not secure tightly and air was getting in the system. They sent two guys out, one of which did nothing more than run back and forth to the truck for the first guy. Needless to say he could not fix the problem, called into his office to get further instruction about the filter owner/manager not in could not get answer. I had the service tech sign off for the time he was there and that he merely caulked my plug shut (which I can not get off now to close the pool). I later get the bill for $365+ for TWO service people, mileage and labor! I will have to buy a new sand filter next spring, and can not get any satisfaction from this company about their equipment fraud up charge for the techs...(I NEVER AGREED TO TWO).Stay away., I wish I had. They are the reason pool companies are know as crooks!!!
Stop by and see Big Ed, Great staff and Great products for your pool or hot tub or even a new one.
Nice store with a knowledgable and friendly staff. They carry great brands of spas such as Nordic hot tubs. Also they are chemical experts and are happy to help with any question you have!
Love these guys! Superior customer service and I absolutely love the team!
Not happy at all. We have bought many things for our pool from Pool Canter and they were fine in person. Then we moved out of state and they took total advantage of us.They said they would close our pool, but because our house was near Taylorville there would be a driving charge, they estimated the cost would be between $300-$375 with chemicals and the driving charge. Our final bill was $443.87.
I just moved to a new house that had a pool. Never owning a pool before, their staff took the time and explained everything I needed to do to take care of it for the winter. I appreciated all their help.
Our pool cover tore over the winter so our pool needed some extra TLC this spring. Christina was awesome with testing our water and recommending what to do to make it easy on me and on my pocketbook! Went back a 2nd time for some clarifier and Robert was great help also! Will definitely be using them from now on.
The Male employee is so rude when you go here. He acts lie youre disrupting his day by being there. I have decided to forgo The Pool Center and buy my stuff elsewhere.
Nice selection of fabrics
Do NOT purchase anything from this company. They never return your calls, give you a date on installation and then never hear from then. When you call them they have some lame excuse and tell you the owner will call you and never does. They are liars and only want your money!!! The list goes on on. Definitely not a good way to run a business and keep your customers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay away from this place!!!!!!!!
They use bio bioguard which I recommend. As long as you talk to the right person and not a summer help you can get good information
Great. pools. Spa hot tub.
Terrible customer service, go anywhere but here unless youre interested in throwing your money away. Interesting that the person on this website that gave them five stars is listed as an employee on another website. Big shock. They are corrupt, incompetent and only care about making money. I cant believe they are still in business. Avoid like the plague. Buyer beware.
Great sales people friendly very very knowledgeable good people to work with great experience will always buy my pool supplies at the pool warehouse on six street
Service was horrible!!!! employee waited on customer that came in after me, answered calls that came after me and seemed annoyed that I asked where patch kits were located. I was waiting at the counter to ring out and he actually went right past me to help the second customer. I waited for at least 5 minutes to purchase 1 item before finally walking out. Will never go here again!
They are super nice and accommodating during the sale, but their service after the sale is terrible. I had a leak and they said they would come back out and fix it---never came back. Called 2 more times---nothing. The solar cover that came with it was so thin, it disintegrated after the first season. They wouldnt warranty it. So like a dummy I spent 200 bucks on a better one (according to the salesman) and it is falling apart this season. Never again will I buy from Pool Centers. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
Unbelievable customer treatment. Product and service not as specified, delayed, installed incorrectly, no call backs even though work was incomplete. The list goes on but you get the idea. Better business bureau please.
Had a problem with my Spa, got to talk directly to the owner about what was wrong.. they came out the next day and fixed it. Super nice folks, easy to deal with.
10000 more times reliable then Aqualand Tom and Aqualand is about 100 years old and has a very smart mouth when it comes to dealing with his customers we will never walk in that store again thank god pool center is in Springfield
I ordered a part for our pool pump and was told it would take a week to come in. The week came and went and I never heard a word from them. So I went to another pool store, they had the part in stock so I purchased it, went back to the Pool Center to cancel my order and get my money back. They never ordered the part, and if I hadnt kept the receipt I never would have gotten my money back. They have absolutely no customer service and they really dont care if you shop there or not.Dont shop there.......any other pool store in Springfield is better. They are the worst!!!!!!
Nice store and helpful staff
Dont EVER use this company!I contracted Pool Center Inc to put in a new liner and pool light. The took the inner parts of the light back to their store in order to order the correct replacement. They lost the parts and later told me it in order to replace the light we would have to bust out the concrete around the pool, dig down to the light and replace the whole assembly. That would cost me about $3,000 they said. They installed the liner in the fall and left one of the jets undone until spring, because they said it need to settle in to the corner. I called then in the spring to have them cut in that last jet. They of course cant remember what I am talking about. Several calls later they finally came out and took care of that. The day we got the pool up and running again, my neighbors dog jumped the fence to get into our pool and tore up the liner. We then needed to replace the brand new liner. Eight weeks later they put the new liner in. It leaks. I was hauling 250 gallons of water a day to keep the pool filled. (I live on a well) I call again to ask them to address the leak. Their solution is to put a suction device over the light fixture hole. We put the cover on last fall. Then this spring we take the cover off and that suction device is gone. Sometime last fall or winter, they came out and took it off without telling me. My pool has been leaking all winter. We busted out the concrete ourselves in order to replace the light and hopefully fix the leak. Now I see that the metal pool walls are rusted through in some areas. I am furious with this company.
Wonderful staff!
Dont waste your time with this business. They are greedy business owners who try to make as much money as possible with doing as little work as they can.Everything that they sell is priced at double what they paid for it at a MINIMUM. I know this from doing inventory for them. They instruct employees to never allow a customer to know what they had paid for a product.I was also told to never use their suppliers names in front of customers, because some of them sell to the public, and they dont want their customers to know they can get the same product cheaper somewhere else. They built a new store, with a different name, that they refer to as the north store because they dont want the public to know they own it. They would rather the public assume both are seperately owned businesses that they can shop between. They also opened the north store up near their competition, Illini Pools, and try to undercut their prices or sell what they can at just slightly cheaper prices than Illini Pools. The products they sell usually offer long warranties, BUT, are so easily voided they told me not to even mention warranties to customers. For example, they sell an above ground with a 30 yr warranty on the pool wall. But if someone were cutting the grass and a small rock shoots out and scratches the pool, it doesnt matter who did it or how, if the scratch is there then the entire warranty is voided. It wasnt rare for me to hear a customer say, I know my prices, so im going to shop elsewhere. and then watch them walk out. Im amazed they stay in business. But it seems the primary customers they get are people who dont care if they get overcharged or not. (very unwise no matter how wealthy you are imo)Aslo its funny how the care and handling of a Spa changes from careful to hasty when the sign on it changes from For Sale to Sold. I watched someone warp the bottom outside finish of a $10,000+ Spa that was ALREADY SOLD, by improperly using a Lifter when moving it from the front to the back to prepare for delivery. They did nothing about it and it went unmentioned to the customer. So maybe one of the owners will see this and try to fix the mistakes in their business tactics but I urge you to shop around before buying from the pool center. You will be glad you did.
Knowledgeable staff
Unfortunately, we gave the pool center our money before we read any reviews or talked to anyone who had used them. Everyone we have talked to since then has had nothing but bad experiences. We were initially told a date they would begin installing our pool. We had some heavy rain during that time. We wondered if things would get delayed, we understand those things happen and are out of their control, but did not receive a phone call saying otherwise so we assumed that they would begin as scheduled. The date came and went. As I said, we understand they have no control of weather but they do have control of their level of communication with their customers. About 2-3 weeks later, they finally got started while we were on vacation. I have no way of proving this but my hunch is that this was intentional so that we would not be around to ask questions or see what was going on. Part of what makes me believe this is the fact that I called them a day or 2 before we left to see if there was anything that I needed to do before we left in case they started while we were gone. Amazingly, after not hearing from them for a couple weeks, they called the day we were leaving saying they were getting started the next day. We were told 2-3 days for installation, 9 days later when we returned from vacation, they were still not finished. Our pool is a semi-inground pool, every bit of dirt they dug was left in our yard, killing a large portion of my grass. I initially told them that a friend of mine MAY be interested in A SINGLE PICKUP TRUCK LOAD of dirt. If I were being generous, I guess I could see how this may have lead to some miscommunication and all of the dirt being left. However, I talked to the man who actually dug the hole before he started. He said that Ed told him to leave the dirt, I (the customer) told him that was not the case, my friend no longer needed the dirt and that whatever Ed did not need for the pool, I wanted hauled off. We called the digger after the fact and he told us that he quoted Ed the price for both leaving the dirt and for hauling it off. Ed told him to just leave the dirt and he (Ed) would figure it out. Ed did come by a few days later to drop off the ladder and the water test strips that were supposed to come with our pool and did not. We asked him about the dirt again, he told us that the person building the deck around our pool would need all of it. The person building the deck has 15 years of experience as a carpenter building homes and he had already showed us how much dirt he would need and it was maybe a quarter of what was sitting in our yard. I can only conclude that Ed did not want to pay to have the dirt hauled off. Judging from his business practices however, I assume that he did go ahead and charge US for that. Aside from that, we had asked what to do about the chemicals we needed for our pool since we were first time pool owners. One of the pool center employees told us, thats what Im here for. However, after they finished and added starter chemicals, we were told nothing. this led to the sides of our pool turning green. We finally decided to be done with the pool center and we would figure things out on our own. The most frustrating part of dealing with Ed is the fact that he does not care how unsatisfied you are. We are reasonable people who can deal with delays and even mistakes. However, if the person you are dealing with could not care less about your level of satisfaction, you will get nowhere. As soon as Ed has your money, that is all he cares about. I can only draw the conclusion that he knows little to nothing about pools or business etiquette. I would recommend any other pool company.
Never again...
