This is a gorgeous hike and very family friendly. The tail is marked for distance, lots of trees, sometimes you’ll see some wildlife, dog friendly, has a detailed map at the beginning of the trail, public restrooms and a paved parking lot. By far one of our families favorite places to get out of the house.
For longer hike park one car at other side at quartz Park. Other car at main trailhead on hwy 126. This way you get southern Vistas and sun exposure in back side then the forest on other half. Right now feb 2021 the upper mossy section is muddy galore so come prepared. The backside is a chunky quarry rock type of road, not smooth as front manicured side. The top upper mossy section is also not fine groomed as lower sections...due to need for drainage and erosion control. This is going to make this section dicey for young children and the person with ankle, knee issues.Amazing local hike
What a beautiful new area to explore! The gravel path is fine for a stroller, and children under 10 were well worked and very tired! A mellow, uphill grade, made a nice walk through the forest a bit of a workout, but still not what I would call hard by any means. There is a bike fixing station, a dog, bike or shoe washing area and a spigot of filtered water to fill your jug! We will definitely be going back!
Very well built and maintained trail. 3 mi to the top. There isnt that much of a view, so its just a hike in the woods. 800 ft of elevation gain but is very steady and you dont really notice.
Wonderful place to walk. Planners did well to give a slow ascent to the top of the trail. It was about 3 miles round-trip and less than an hour to complete.Im definitely looking forward to spending some more time walking and eventually biking the downhill trail when its completed. Thank you Springfield!
Great little trail with some good flow. Toilets were clean flushing and work well. Good atmosphere and friendly crowds. A must stop for MTB trip or evening ride.
Great little hike. Lots of dogs on the trail. Well built trail, only got muddy after I went beyond the finished section. Cant wait for the finished product!
Easily by far the best park in Springfield/Eugene. Very, very well designed.Seriously, great job designing this park. The trail feels like one of the trails upriver, very immersive.
Dont go here, we love it too much and dont want to share. ;)
Nice trail. Clean gravel path, not too steep up to 3/4. The last 1/4 or so of the trail can get steep or muddy. See attached photos.
Hide the entire Trail was a very exciting experience everyone should go take a hike up their next.
Excellent hike up into the forest. Great views along the spine trail.
Such a nice and peaceful hike. Great for running as well.
This trail proves to be a boring hike. It does seem cool if you ride BMX bikes, though Im not into that
Great in town MTB trail, climb the fireroad all the way to the top for the best workout of your life.
