I brought my FIL here. Its really old place with NO bathroom. So if you have to use the bathroom, make sure you go before you get your hair cut. The barber was nice.

I had a very pleasant experience today getting my hair cut. The owner/operator, George is an old-school barber that really knows how to wield a pair of clippers. He took the time to cut my hair the right way paying attention to the smallest detail, including my eyebrows and even put talc on my neck after shaving to help keep from itching. Not a lot of even old-school barbers do that anymore. The best part was he was able to do it all quickly. Part of the charm of an old-school barber is the conversation, which wasnt lacking either. We had no problem finding things to talk about and he was very knowledgeable about the Springfield area which was a big help to me, being new to the area. The cut cost me $15, including tip and I will definitely be back.The only criticism I have is that the place could use some sprucing up, as long as he does it without ruining the old-school feel. The counter was a bit cluttered and the walls dingy and unkempt. A coat of paint, some manly decorations, and de-cluttering his counter would go a long way toward making the place as inviting as the service.

Laketown barber shop is very old school. The barber is rude on the phone and he treats people harshly. Never call or hell snap at you.
