2 years ago I left a glowing review of this restaurant. My family travels almost 2 hours from RI to come here for special occasions. We havent been back until today. And I am so disappointed. The prices went up by a few dollars per person, but unfortunately the quality of my experience did not reflect the price increase. Cold food. Food empty and not being replaced enough to meet demand. Plates and bowls coming out that were NOT clean. The chocolate fountain? Now its a big old chocolate BOWL that anyone can dip whatever they want in. Completely unsanitary. The place was extremely crowded and while they made us wear masks and gloves when handling the tongs, what is the point of that when the seating is so close together I could hear people behind me chewing?Not related to the staff, but the clientele was extremely rude. Cutting in line, letting little kids run amok with no supervision, taking the whole tray of food for themselves so no one else could get any. The staff tried to do an announcement over the intercom but the audio was so garbled and the customers so loud I couldnt even hear what was being said. People acting like that movie The Platform trying to get dibs on fresh food that took 20 minutes to be replaced.Not to be rude myself, but this place knows their clientele: theyre not small people. Many people were very large, and the way seating is laid out means you can barely fit between tables to walk up to the buffet. I must have had my arm grazed by at least 15 different butts trying to squeeze by me.90% of these issues could be solved with lowering seating capacity and hiring more experienced staff. Especially a dishwasher. And I can tell youre understaffed in general because the Manager was helping to bus tables. How is he supposed to do his job when he has to pick up the slack for others? Do better, Golden Corral. We know you can because you DID.

I am so disappointed! It was my daughter’s 5th birthday today. She is having her party this weeekend, but since it is a Monday we took her out to dinner for a little early celebration. We let her choose the restaurant. She wanted Golden Corral since we had last good experiences there. However, today’s was TERRIBLE. Small selection of food and the food that was out was not fresh. They were closing everything down over an hour before closing. My husband asked about the ice cream machine and it was closed down- one of the main reasons my daughter wanted to go there since that is fun for a 5 year old child. Then he asked if they had strawberries or anything for the chocolate fountain. The staff started speaking amongst themselves and giggling and disassembling the fountain before we could use it. We spent about $100 and it was not a pleasant experience sadly. I hope they can make changes because we used to really enjoy this restaurant, but it has majorly gone downhill. Possibly new management, but I think they will close soon if something doesn’t change fast. We won’t be returning and I plan on contacting management/ corporate. This was just ridiculous! I saw more people entering and paying and they were clearing out trays of food before they could even serve themselves! I worked in food service for years while in high school/ college and customer satisfaction is first priority before everyone rushing off their shift! We work hard for our money not to waste it on such a sad experience for our family- especially on our daughter’s birthday! 😪

I wouldnt eat there my life depended on it! $16.99 and doesnt include drink! I probably wouldnt eat that much anyways! Theres always too many people in there picking over the food with no masks on!

Always good. And the person at the grill is very good. He gives you just what you want. The steaks are great.

Food was good. Employees were responsive, friendly and worked very hard, which was very important as some of the customers were very sloppy. Unfortunately I felt it was overcrowded and anxious when I saw several customers without the required masks, hand sanitizer and gloves when serving themselves. They were adults and not children.

I was disappointed in the food I havent been to 1 of these in like 12 yrs and was really hungry and excited.food were over cooked and dry and the whole glove and sanitizer thing was like come on were all touching the same things!!! Its still cross contamination and more waste! And some of the plates were still dirty with dry stuck food but my hands were the problem? Like I said disappointed 🤷🏼‍♀️💔

I worked there years ago there not that great like they used to be I dont care about mask,ect its still a restaurant an they always were unorganized with dirty dishes and having a manager run around and help the kids because thats what they are servers are not grown there young adults trying to get a few dollars and they dont treat you with respect here because I did a lot for these people and they treated me like trash when Im the one who held everything down!!!! Especially Calvin the manager if hes still there he needs to grow up

The food was good. The dinner price for adults is almost $17, not $14. That doesnt include beverages. Overall I liked it and will most likely return. The sign outside stated that customers not seated must wear mask but almost no customers were wearing them and it wasnt enforced. Why put up the notice. We wore ours anyway. Staff was nice.

The wait staff was very nice but everything else was down hill from there. A buffet that could not keep up with the supply and demand of the customers. Having to wait for trays to be refilled. People standing around waiting for chicken and other meats to be be refilled. I basically had to eat sides and hope that if I went up frequently, that perhaps I could luck up and get a piece of chicken, or a piece of steak, shrimp, some kind of meat. It was not a good experience for me. And the plastic gloves they want you to put on for sanitary purposes are cumbersome and too big for the average hand. What I notice was several gloves just being thrown on the floor as customers struggles to get them on but when they couldnt, would just drop.them to the floor. There should at least be a trash basket nearby to discard the gloves that may have unintentionally fell to the floor. I use to come to this restaurant and have a good dining experience with my family since it could accommodate a larger family for a reasonable price. After this visit, they dont have to worry about me returning, well do better just staying home and cook a big pit of spaghetti. At least we will be guaranteed to get a plate and not have to wait for it to be cooked.

As there are no longer any Golden Corral restaurants in Connecticut, this is the closest one to us in New Haven. It was good, lots of people, and food was kept topped off and hot. We enjoyed it but not good enough to make the hour-plus drive again.

The Food was Delicious. Michael the Server was Kind, Attentive and Hardworking. I Hope he gets recognized and the Crew was Great . The chefs the Servers. Everyone was Kind!

I, as a party of 1, drove 85 miles (each way, round-trip 200 miles, or so) to one of two Golden Corral in my area; both just as far. Ill do it again. I saw the crew work and communicate, the dishes were clean, silverware as well. That excellence added with low(er) par levels for each item, very cool! Everything was fresh . Amy was --at every point-- awesome. The Sprite went well and restroom clean. Win-Win.

My favorite place to eat. All I can eat, you wont find another place like this one.

My husband and I went here with our teens and 5 yrs. Old. Since the reopening, Terrible, terrible, terrible when we went. They ran out of food. Very messy. Under staffed. Our waiter was excellent and went over and beyond he was so overwhelmed but still very polite. We loved this place before. It was just too chaotic. All in all wasnt worth what we payed this last time we went. Maybe itll get better like before.

Ate here this evening 11/20/19! Very very good! All kinds of choices of fresh food! I made a salad to start: all fresh! Got a steak off the grille with mashed potatoes and brown gravy, green beans and sweet potato casserole with a roll! Delicious!! Finished off with fresh decadent carrot cake! My wife loved the fish and sweet potato casserole! Service was great as well: friendly, professional and bussed the tables quickly! You owe it to yourselves to come here!!!

Please do not go to this place they was picking everything with the hands with no gloves the food and everything and after that I got sick with fever headache and weakness hope is not bad disgusting place please don’t go here for your safety it’s seen like the hire anyone and put them to work we even seen workers cooking and eating on the kitchen And linking their fingers we see it through the kitchen door where Is the fried chicken and the dessert area when we when to get some plates plus they was super darty the plate I will never recommend this place to anyone the manager seems like a nice person but I don’t think he have the character to deal with the people that work there and he don’t seem like he know how to run the place .

Its not the same here! I use to love going here. The quality of the food has gone down. The bathrooms are always disgusting and smell so bad that if you sit near them you can smell it. We had to wait 20 minutes for them to put food out a lot of the food pans were empty. They said it was because they had a large party in their party room. It so sad to see that theyre letting things go down here.

Simply delicious Food. My favorite buffet. Always clean. Staff is helpful and very friendly. Large variety of fresh fruits, Deserts, meats and vegetables. Theres something for everyone here. Kids and adults will be happy. As fast as you dirty the plates someones there to remove them and offer a drink refill. I have been going there for years. I highly recommend it I havent been disappointed yet.

Man it was worth the 2 hour ride from Boston to Springfield thats all I know. And I was wondered about cleanliness and folks sweaty and dirty fingernails AND NO WORRIES.... EVERYBODY HAD TO WEAR GLOVES BEFORE GETTING A PLATE. AMEN (SIGH)

Quality and variety at a reasonable price. Loved GC many years ago when l was with the USAF at Homestead AFB. It was mostly a steakhouse then with an awesome salad bar. They have changed but for the better in my opinion. 🙏🇺🇸👍

Great service! They manage to keep their buffet service with safe COVID measures. Servers will give you the food, soda refills are brought by the servers to your table, tables are cleaned up very good after you are done. Every worker have their masks correctly, covering nose and mouth. Tables are separated at least 6ft apart. There was a small line when we got there and it moved very quickly. Very satisfied on my first visit.

I was very surprised that the food was good and I only say that because I have not been to go to Corral since they have been open so I was pretty late to it and for the food to still be good was perfect actually excellent mashed potatoes wonderful different varieties of food salad bar I enjoyed myself me and my family

Unprofessionalism, unorganized, under staff, that is just a couple to name from what My family and I experience. Once we went to the food station, not a good selection of food items. Most pans/trays were EMPTY! Took about at least 10-25 minutes to replenish.Half hour into our stay, the staff ran out of plates, silverware and gloves (not once, three times.) Why? Because the plates were resting on the edge of peoples tables for a good while. For Covid19 to still exist, the Restaurant was not taking those extra precautionary measures. The place was over crowded. No social distance at all They definitely wasnt prepared for the crowd!It was a Nightmare....I do want to acknowledge that the Managerwas working hard and trying his best to make Everyone visit as comfortable and somewhat satisfying.

This is one of the best buffets food wise that I’ve been to. They do need to keep up with cleaning the bathrooms bc they were gross. But if you don’t need the bathroom the food is great lol

They had a good variety of food to chose from.

Yet again the service and the hospitality of the employees are what really make a golden corral trip pleasant, so kind and so welcoming and accomodating.

The ice cream machine is always broken when we go but the food is pretty great. The chocolate fountain isnt always on the buffet line, but when it was there was no ice cream again, so that was a let down. They should have more options of things to put in the fountain, not just marshmallows and cantaloupe but over all it was good.

Its nice, it really is, but Id rather have my own area to eat with dividers. But hey, thats just me, many people like to eat without privacy I guess..

The Experience was Great although i miss having breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.

Food LOOKS good but a lot of it was cold and we went around 6pm so you would think the food is fresh. Something we ate upset all of our stomachs so we wont be returning. Staff was nice, thats the only reason why I gave 2 stars instead of 1.

Horrible food the greens over spiced, the black eye peas over spiced. The pulled pork had a funny taste. As well as the catfish. The cobbler tasted like the can! This location does nothing good for the brand... a waste of money and time..

Food was delicious and wait staff friendly. Covid procedures changed the way you get food . You can no longer grab your own but you can walk up to food and point at what you want. The staff will place on your plate. Everybody was friendly. Would go back whenever I’m in the area again.

Been there two times with my whole family (we are four). The eating was good, the waiters were very kind, and the food was variated. We only paid $9.29 (at launch), and $19.99 (at dinner; these two are adult prices). The good thing it offers is its freedom of choosing. (this last tip is specially good for very selective persons, and parents with very young children).

The place was very clean and nice staff but your breakfast was horrible the scramble eggs were very watering, bacon was very burned and they didnt have regular syrup orange jucie tasted like water. paid 43.61 with y 2 daugthers and had to stop next door at Dannys to eat breakfast again.

I went here during Covid. We were able to find a seat a good distance away from people but if youre strict about needing 6 of space between you and other people here, youre expectations will be probably not be met. Mostly just while youre getting your food though.You will not be able to serve yourself here, you have to point out what you want to the staff and they get it for you. I did not see this as an inconvenience, but I can see why others might. Also, the server will provide you with a stack of empty plates at your table. You can ask for as many as you want.The food was excellent. Much better than your average buffet. When I first entered, I thought the price of $42.00 for two people was a little much; however, I quickly realized that its totally worth the price. I had pulled pork, meatloaf, mac n cheese, mexican rice, baked beans, and several desserts. It was all excellent quality.I left here overfilled and satisfied. I did not take any food home with me; however, I did hear a staff member telling other customers they can feel free to take home whatever they didnt finish, and I thought that was nice. I will absolutely be coming back here.

New England clam chowder was delicious! Love their mashed potatoes. Amazing! Bread pudding was great. Customer service was awesome!

I enjoyed myself and my wife had never been there and sh enjoyed it also. The on problem was she said the womens rest smelled but not enough to not enjoy the place. The staff was very nice.

We have delicious food. It was very warm and flavorfully. A variety of fresh food. My favorite is sweet potato casserole. And okra. And meatloaf. Staff was courteous and definitely was vivid safe. Provided gloves and sanitizer before you serve your food. Tables were spaced apart. My family and I had great time

This was my worst Golden Corral experience. We got a corn that was bit in so I wanted to ask the manager if the food was recycled. I notified a server and the manger said he’ll come speak to us. He didn’t even acknowledge us. No one came back to our table to take our juice order as a result, but instead the servers were asking every family around us if they were good. Distasteful service and unprofessional management. Plus the restroom was disgusting.

Worst buffet ever!! We found hair in two different plates of food, the manager didn’t do anything about it except for tell us it came from us or another customer, not his employees and food didn’t even taste good... will never go there again.

This Golden Corral is an hour away, but still the closest one to us. We love going there, but dont get to go often. As with everything else Covid is making eating out difficult, but this GC is worth the trip. They still are doing a great job, with good attitudes and excellent food. Love em.

Went there today with my church it was about 16 of us we got in pretty quick,food and service was good,but the tables and the utensils did not look clean at all im thinking its because of the crowd,and not enough time to properly clean them,but we ask for hot water to soak the utensils and enjoyed our meals

We drove 80 miles and stood in line for half an hour to get inside. We came to enjoy a family meal during Easter Sunday buffet. One thing I disliked was that Social Distancing guidelines were NOT adhered to at all. For anyone immune compromised, I would advise NOT choosing this location for any meal.Waiters and waitresses, as well as cashiers were very pleasant but certain food servers were VERY rude, especially to customers like my family who dont speak Spanish. I am unsure as to why, but it was NOT appreciated. Overall, the food was ok, but for $17.99 per plate, we expected better.Because of both a lack of structure or enforcing of social distancing guidelines while waiting, as well as a not so great experience while being served, we will not return again. VERY disappointing.

Hibachis a bit better, in my opinion of this buffet: im a bit disappointed by my first experience, the pizza was chewy (i dont mind) and the chocolate ice cream had a weird taste, would recommend if the food tasted better

So sad. We hadn’t been here in over a year with the pandemic. Many favorites are gone, you have to wait for someone to notice you to serve your food and the quality has greatly diminished . The price should be adjusted accordingly. The banana pudding literally tasted like cake batter. Two stars is only for the fried chicken and more over for the amazingness of our server, Emma. She deserves a raise and a promotion.

Drove 2 hours to get here... baked chicken very dry ... broccoli and cheddar tasted like steamed algee-eaters ... pernil was some of the worst non seasoned piece of fecal matter ever ... and the meat loaf was from some type of non animal existing foreign place .... I think it was a mixture of soy and beef /turkey byproduct... and Ive had better pasta and sauce in prison ... golden corral ... we was family ... now Id never claim you again ... even as a distant cousin
