I had a pretty good idea of what the problem was. Took it in explained what was going on. The gentleman at the counter confirmed what I had thought. We agreed to start on the best and most cost effective approach. If that was not the problem we would proceed from there. It was what we expected and no shenanigans. Price was less than expected. Happy with transaction.

Went in needing tires for our Jeep Cherokee. Dave took excellent care of us. He and the other guys there at the shop were very friendly and knowledgeable. Our tires had to be ordered but came in the following day. They were also reasonably priced. We will be definitely be going back there again for tires.

My car wouldnt start. So, Pomps gave us the number for a tow company to tow it to them. They set to work right away trying to figure out what the problem was. It turned out to be the battery. The guys communicated the cost up front and asked what I wanted the next steps to be.While there, I also had them change the oil and throw on a set of new tires. We were going out of town and werent in a big hurry to get the car back. When I went to pick my car up, the guys had found a coupon to use towards my order that saved me about $30 on service! It was super thoughtful of them to seek out a coupon on my behalf. I cant think of many places that would do that.Anyway, Im back on the road with a new battery, freshly changed oil and TREAD on my tires! Im sure my air compressor will feel unloved, but it feels good to not see the low tire light on ALL THE TIME!Thanks for taking care of my, guys!!

I looked on line looking for a cheap,they had one of the cheapest. I made my appointment when I got there the man told the lowest priced tire he had was 100 dollars more than the other one. He said someone should have went over that on the phone. Not a friendly guy. I was there over 2 hours waiting. I heard him tell someone else the same story. Some of the workers were very friendly. I am pretty sure they must get paid a commission. I wont be going back. Only went here because Brahlers canceled my appointment last minute and Walmart didnt have the size tire I needed.

Bought 4 tires in May. Recently saw my front passenger tire low. Called for my 24hour warranty setvice for the tire then got Very dissapointed with a four day wait till they would look at it. The appointment was at 11 they checked a screw was found that i already had seen that was in the tire. No charges on the service. Now the service was acceptable but NOT the wait of four days your business practice needs improvement.

Terrible...looked at thierwebsite found a reasonable priced tire. When I got there the man said they didnt have that one I I had to get one that cost 100 bucks more. I was there for over 2 hours and heard a lot of other customers coming in complains. There was one nice guy in there I talked to.

Excellent service very friendly enjoyed talking with the guy inside while we waited wasnt charged for service we misread the sensors on the dash but they still checked everything out.

Dave at the Service Counter was prompt and professional. He had my vehicle ticket pulled up within moments and told me he would fit me in by the end of the day (it was around Noon at that time). He also said he would call when it was complete and he did just that. That’s the way to treat a customer to get them to return again.

Brought my truck into Pomp’s due to steering issues. Prior to my visit I had a local dealership look into the issue and they found nothing wrong with vehicle. Pomp’s inspected all of the steering components and ended up replacing several worn parts. I dropped the vehicle off in the morning and all repairs were completed the same day. Since the repair the truck drives like new again. I now have peace of mind that the vehicle has been properly repaired.

I was VERY pleased with the service yesterday and the way I was treated was good old, old school customer service, which is really rare to receive these days from service facilities. Job well done Pomps

We had a suspension problem with our 5th wheel. We had traveled from California and were in Springfield IL. A local Springfield RV shop told us we needed to go to a truck repair shop several miles away. Instead we went to Pomp’s right down the street and talked to Kevin. He went out and looked at our problem (our shackles had flipped) and agreed to try and reposition our shackles. He jacked the trailer up, and with one wheel off and with a little prying repositioned the shackles. I was a little worried what the charge was going to be and was relieved when Kevin only charged us $26. Thank you Pomp’s and thank you Kevin.

After purchasing tires for my Honda Odyssey a few years ago, I have religiously taken the vehicle to Pomps for tire rotations and inspections for any problems. They had the tires I needed in stock and were able to install them the next day. Ive always gotten great customer service there, too. Car maintenance and repairs are never cheap, but I have always felt like they were honest about what needed to be done and whether it needed to be done immediately or if the repairs could wait.

They were very professional and did a great job on my tire repair. Things they could improve on: I had an appointment for 2PM for a minor repair, and they werent done until 3:35ish. I felt that was a bit long. Also, the gentleman at the counter did not know what was done to repair the tire, and it wasnt on the invoice.

About got into accident because someone forgot to tighten lug nuts on my back tire, after they rotated my tires.It broke off one stud bolt and ruined my wheel. Hopefully all will be taken care of.They are trying their best to make it right.I got a lot of run around!!! Had to speak to corporate office to get it taken care of!!!!

I have been a faithful customer of Pomp’s Tire Service, and previously Midtown Tire, in Springfield, Illinois for over 30 years. However, on my last visit to the Pomp’s Tire Service Store, I received some poor service.Some minor damage occurred from the improper installation of the undercarriage shielding, so I mentioned this to the store’s manager. The store manager, Mr. Bob Tolley listened to my concerns and apologized for any poor service and the resulting damage. He requested that I bring the vehicle back in for his inspection and he would take care of this issue.The following day, Mr. Tolley personally delivered on his promise to repair my truck. He contacted me when the job was completed and we both inspected the truck to make sure it met my satisfaction.I could not have been more pleased with Mr. Tolley’s understanding and professionalism of this issue. I would like to commend Mr. Tolley, and I feel that Corporate should do the same, for going above and beyond the level of customer service required for my concerns. I told Mr. Tolley that it is nearly impossible to EXCEED someone’s expectations, but Pomp’s and Mr. Tolley did exceed my expectations for the customer service I received for this issue. I will continue my loyalty with Pomp’s Tire Service by remaining a long term customer and I will be sure to let others know about their quality of customer service.

I was traveling through the area, and had a tire blow out. They knew we were just waiting on a tire to get our trip going again. They were slammed with business but got us a new tire and on our way by 10 the next morning. Even checked pressure and corrected some of our other tires so we wouldn’t have any more problems after that. Very professional and friendly!!

Dave quoted me $20/tire for mounting and balance.I show up for my appointment and the price now went to $10 mount + $16.99 balance.Dave said he never said that price and called me a liar by saying so.Ill take my business elsewhere from now on. My 82 year old mother fell in their parking lot. Shes shy & didnt want to make a big deal if it. She told the desk guy she needed tires & I mentioned that she fell. He heard me tell my mom that she needed to complete an accident report. Their parking lot should be smoother & better maintained. The man ignored me & spoke over me to sell her tires. How VERY rude! I always get good service at the time of sale and installation, and any time I need my tires rotated or flat repairs with their roadside coverage. I’ve had a few flats tires over the years that couldn’t be repaired, and they typically only charge me around $20 for a brand new replacement tire.

My experience at Pomps was awesome! I have been a customer there for a long timeMy recent visit was with Dave. I had spoken to him by phone and he asked me to stop by so he could take a look at my problem. I went there, late afternoon, and they were able to fix it immediately. All the staff are very helpful but Dave goes above and beyond with customer satisfaction.

I had a very bad customer experience there. I shopped there once, came in once to make the purchase, came in once for the tire and sensor installation, and then came back twice to get the newly-installed sensors properly programmed. If I could give a zero star rating... I initially made a complaint to their corporate office regarding how a particular manager behaved. Following that complaint, that manager actually threatened me. He had apparently lifted my address off of Pomp’s records, because he said things like, “I know where you sleep at night,” quoted my name and address, and more. The guy was truly bizarre and disgusting, and I notified Pomp’s of his behavior. Finally, but not for a several weeks, I heard that Pomp’s fired the guy. Amazingly though, they kept him employed for that long. Subsequently, after living in my home for 30 years without incident, my property was badly and aggressively vandalized. So, on top of the tire cost of over $1200.00, which was similar to cost quotes I’d gotten elsewhere, the 4-hour installation time for 4 tires and 4 sensors when I had scheduled their first appointment of the day at 7 AM, the behavior of the clearly sociopathic manager, and the repeated visits because they had not correctly programmed the new sensors, I got to buy a security camera system AND spend more than twice the cost of the tires repairing vandalism.If you want to do business with a place that employed and retained a criminal, even after they were made patently and certainly aware that he was running customers away and mistreating people... But if not, well, there are plenty of options in Springfield. In my opinion, Pomp’s has been complicit in destroying what Midtown Tire had built for 50 years as a mainstay in Springfield, and in laying to waste what the good and hardworking employees there come to work for every day. I’d done business there in the past, of course, and expected more of the same. I was wrong. Do yourself a favor - avoid.Update: The credit card that I used for this purchase and have had for many years was used fraudulently today. Twice. Also a first. So, I’ve had my name and address lifted from their records by the sociopath they didn’t have the awareness to fire after being very clearly and concisely apprised of his behavior, I’ve been threatened by that now former manager, I’ve had my property vandalized per one of his threats, and the payment method I used has been breached and abused.Second update, I was just apprised that Pomp’s management “doesn’t have a leg to stand on” pursuant to doing the right thing about this completely true account of the actual as long as this honest and true review is posted. Newsflash, Pomp’s management: That’s not how it works. Do the right thing in the first place. And if you can’t do that, follow up by doing the right thing.

Had a blowout and got the car towed to Pomps. Sam was great and went above expectations, jumping through hoops, dealing with our 3rd party road hazard warranty. They even ran across town to get us the matching tire quickly.
