My husband and I set up a 4 car auto policy and bundled it with homeowners insurance 5 years ago. They gave us a nice quote for two new cars, 1990 dodge, and a classic. We choose Allstate as our first pick because their commercials talk about accident forgiveness. Who doesn’t want that??? Maybe I was told 5 years ago and maybe my 20 year old self should have read the papers BUT I didnt and just assumed I was getting accident forgiveness. Allstate has a level program. Base-5 years insured by them accident free and you get 1 accident waiver. The platinum and gold levels cost more for additional “forgiveness.” I unfortunately had the base plan during a AT FAULT accident that happened 2 weeks before my 5 year minimum. That would happen!!!! I was shocked when my renewal came in and my insurance went up an additional 600/year. I thought I had accident forgiveness. 😐 Before renewal I was paying $1210/year. This situation forced me to shop around and learn some stuff. As of today, I’m breaking up with Allstate and going with a company that gave me a better quote for 2 full coverage cars, 2 old cars, and an accident on record. With all of that said I will say that filing an auto claim with Allstate was easy. I didn’t have to deal with anything other than pay my deductible and file for 2 car seat replacements. Easy!!!As for my homeowners policy, the price just kept creeping up on top of a already high premium. While shopping I learned that my policy would put me in a bind I f my roof needed replacing with Allstate after it hit 15 years old. It’s 14 years old so chances of it being damaged during a wind or hail storm in Missouri is high, right? Well Allstate’s policy will make me pay the deductible and then they’ll only pay a percentage based off their roof age schedule. That’s scary if we’re talking about a $10,000 roof and their percentage system says 40%. So I’d pay 1000 and they’d pay 4000 and then I’d have to come up with another 5,000 to get the roof replaced. So 6,000 would be my payment. Now, this isn’t a secret it’s written in the policy but again I didn’t read this stuff 5 years ago. I just assumed homeowners insurance would cover the whole house and everything it it. As it sits my roof is in the 58% range so the payment would be okay if something happened anytime but that percentage decrease yearly is enough for me to shop.My advice to those reading this is to shop by the policy sample (not the quote) im talking the actual written policy sample with every exclusion wrote out.Don’t only shop by price when it comes to homeowners insurance because every policy is different.To sum it up I had a good run with Allstate. They were easy to talk to when setting up the policy, dealing with the claim, and canceling the policy.I hope this helps all of you searching.

Allstate is an absolute joke and so is this agency! They go out of their way to refuse payment to their clients when they have a legitimate claim. Our home was hit by an EF1 tornado and they refused to fix the damages caused by the storm. After multiple calls to our agent, I still havent received a return telephone call. Your definitely not in good hands with these clowns. Beware!!!
