It wasn’t a cookie cutter one size fits all approach with them. They took the time to understand my unique circumstances and recommended affordable good insurance solutions. All without a lot of back and forth confusing options. It was easy to bind coverage with them for several different insurance needs.

Never trust ANY American Family agency! Since they switched to a third party system several years ago, they are very dishonest, immoral, and suspicious.After years and years of OVER paying on my monthly bill, they decided to drop me as an auto customer because of a collision that was determined to be ( ei. obviously was) the other drivers fault. They sent me a list of the insurance claims as their reasons for dropping me, and only one minor fender bender was my fault. The other claims on their list were not my fault, or were made by the OTHER policy holder for HIS vehicle. Those old urban legends about insurance companies dropping hundreds of their policy holders right before a hurricane or tornado hits are true!I did some researching, and AMFAM actually does have quite a lot of complaints filed against them, as well as many negative reviews on consumer use sites such as YELP. (But on a more personal note, you can simply TELL that the people you speak to know that what they are doing is wrong. You can hear it in their voices, and by the careful wording they choose to use. Always trust your gut!)They will also sell your personal information to third parties. Legality aside, companies know that this isnt morally right, and its a good way to generate bad PR! I got SEVEN free/introductory/switch-over quotes from other insurance companies about a week before my over-paid policy was set to expire, as well as a letter from an obvious scammer who claimed to be an American Family adjuster who needed more information to investigate a claim was closed out A MONTH AGO.NEVER, EVER get a policy through ANY American Family entity!!! If you are a hurt party who has to file a claim with them, I would advise getting legal counsel and/or representation first. Remember that in Missouri you DO NOT have to give an insurance company a recorded statement to file your claim, and that you are allowed to take your car to ANY repair shop you desire, not just the small list they give you!If you are another local claim filer or current/ex policy holder who thinks you may have been wronged by American Family, I would be very interested in hearing from you.
