We were there for a little over 3 years and Brooke has done the most to improve the apartments in the 9-12 months she has been there then anyone else. We love the management. They actually care about the apartments and their renters. Really wish she would have been there since the beginning. We love her! We Will recommend crosswinds to anyone looking for nice management and affordable living.

I live at the Ridgemore Apartments but they are still owned by the same company: Oak Ridge Properties. In a nutshell unless you live at Crosswinds they do not care about your concerns or the cleanliness of your apartments hallways and stairwells. There is roaches, mice, they say they will send someone out to fix something but they never actually fix it. One time our counter literally fell over off the wall. Not kidding. They have only cleaned out apartments 5 times (hallways and stairwells) since we moved in 2 years ago. Otherwise tenants have had to do it. You would think that would be a priority in the middle of a pandemic but it is not. If you can rent through another company I highly suggest that you do.

This place is actually a great place to live, Brooke & Nancy are super friendly, the maintenance man Ray is super great too he does a good job getting to your apartment to make the repairs fast. They are definitely trying to improve the place too. In the last month they have pressure washed the outside of the buildings and even upgraded the landscaping. Point is a great nice friendly affordable place to live!

I promise you, if you want to move into a nice place....this is not the place! Literally filled with roaches. I just had to throw a $30 coffee pot away because there were like 20 roaches in it! Gross!!! I hate this place and cannot wait to leave. Might I remind you our apartment is always clean! Weve seen them in our kitchen mostly but also our living room, in our bathroom and on our front door. Like....no. Please go somewhere else. You do not want to live here. And even when they spray every month or when we ask them to they still appear the same day if not the next. Go somewhere nicer!!

Get togethers for tenants are often and fun.The price is right, good location, and my utility bills are very manageable! I thought this would be a temporary home for me and my daughter, now Im thinking, why move?

Im not sure what building some of these reviewers are in, but I live in A. Ive lived here since July of 2015. Ive seen two roaches in the entire time Ive lived here, both were immediately after the routine bug sprays they do throughout the property, and were likely driven from another apartment to mine before they died. We had one bout of bedbugs at the start of last winter, when bugs are driven inside by the weather--I soaked our mattress down with bed bug spray, and we havent had an issue since. I dont have to open my refrigerator to do anything but get something out of my refrigerator or put something in, and our dishwasher has never failed to operate. I reported a leaking faucet once, a new one was installed that day. The basin of our garbage disposal cracked, we had a new one within two hours of me making the report.Dirty carpets/stains in the hall? Yeah, its definitely not a new building. Cramped for space? Probably, its a 2-bedroom apartment under $600 a month. Property laundry equipment is poor quality, but we prefer the laundromat about a block away anyway. The bug sprays can be inconvenient for us since we have to make sure our pet is out of the apartment for 2 hours, but the property manager and maintenance staff have helped us work around schedule conflicts by coming back later in the week. Our neighbors are loud and unruly, but thats them, not the property. We get water, sewer, trash, basic cable, and high speed internet in a 2-bedroom for $530/month. Utilities havent ever been triple-digit, even in the dead of winter. Keep your apartment clean, pay your rent, and dont be a pain, its a nice place.

Since we have moved in, the problems have only gotten worse. The most severe problem would be water seeping up through the floors. In both bedrooms and in the kitchen, when it rains it lightly starts to flood. Another issue is there is absolutely no proper insulation, to where the windows nearly fall out of the frame and the glass back door has a pinkie size opening for all the winter cold air to enter and large summer spiders to invade. No matter what, the apartment always smells funny. The apartment that I live in is at the corner edge of the complex, and for some odd reason our neighbors found it necessary to drop about 10 trash bags in front of our bedroom window. Its absolutely disgusting. Speaking of issues with garbage, regularly you can find trash littering most of the parking lot. We have to park right beside the dumpster, to which ends up being quite the hot mess. Because of the lousy security that I hardly ever see, anyone and everyone from the surrounding area adds trash to our dumpster. The one decent element is the Management themselves in that they are always being pleasant, however when it comes to Oakridge, Oakridge is a joke. We have had experiences with Oakridge in the past in another of their apartment complexes and they always refuse to take care of things properly. Its very evident given the conditions of the apartments. Also, a while back my car was broken into, the walls are paper thin to where you hear all sorts of nonsense in the halls, appliances are old and nearly useless, Ive suspected several drug-dealings throughout the property, the Wi-Fi kicked cuts out at least once a day, there are hardly any outlets if you have a lot of appliances, and there is pretty much never enough hot water to take a decent shower. Unless you are absolutely desperate, DO NOT CONSIDER THESE APARTMENTS...

Maintenance doesnt fix things when requests are put in. I waited 3 months for my kitchen sink to get fixed and had to do it myself. Stairwells are always dirty and smell. The windows leak horribly. Avoid if possible

This place is nasty. Im always checking to make sure the roaches arent in the bag i take to work. Me and my boyfriend have roaches crawling on us in the middle of the night. The building is infested with roaches, my neighbors are filthy and the building always smells like cat urine and pooEdit:07/28/18 I felt it was only right to update my post. Within the last week management has really stepped up and taken appropriate action. Im very pleased to say im not seeing roaches every day. I appreciate what the onsite property manager is doing to remedy the situation. Thank you!

If I could, I would give this place 1000 negative stars. BED BUGS EVERY WHERE! And there is no recourse for renters is MISSERY!! Windows dont open so I hope to LUCIFER that the place doesnt burn down. I will have to throw away everything I own when I move because of the G.D. F-ing BED BUGS. I HOPE WHOEVER OWNS THIS PLACE GETS BES BUGS TOO. If I had the money, I would move. I hate living here. I have found used drug needles in the hallway and the parking lot. FOR THE LOVE OF SATAN, DO NOT MOVE HERE OR ANYWHERE ELSE OWNED BY OAKRIDGE PROPERTIES. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS THE ROACHES HERE WILL TAKE YOU.BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THE MANAGER, WENDY IS NICE AND DOES HER BEST AND THE MAINTENANCE CEW IS ALSO GREAT. BUT THE OWNERS ARE SLUM LORDS. I BELIEVE THEY ARE KEEPING THE MANAGER AND MAINTENANCE FROM DOING REPAIRS, ETC. MAYBE THE OWNERS NEED TO LIVE WITH MILLIONS OF ROACHES AND BILLIONS OF BED BUGS. NOW THAT WOULD BE JUSTICE!

I recently moved out of here (thank goodness) after renting for 6 months as a starter place. I DO NOT advise anyone to ever live here. The place is falling apart, smells atrocious, crawling with roaches, and the company seems to have no regard for how the building looks whatsoever. When I first took a tour, I commented on it, and was told they were going to start a remodel within the next month (Which was about 8 months ago). So I would never expect any updates. The maitenence team seems to take care of nothing. (What do they do all day?) The building has so many things wrong with it, one day I flushed my toilet and water with sewage/urine started filling up my bathtub. Another thing is your electric bill will be OUTRAGEOUS. The building has absolutely no insulation. I set my A/C down to 60 degrees and gave up because I was still sweating. Literally all the outdoor air just comes right through your window/patio door. Also, neighbors are all on drugs and horrible. Cops are there almost every week. I NEVER felt safe there and even taking my trash out made me nervous. Laundry also costs a ton to do, and the appliances such as the dishwasher are awful. Wouldnt even get my dishes clean. The ONLY even somewhat good things about this place are the size, the managers (kinda), and the location. Please, safe yourself the hassle and just dont live here

Bed bugs to the worst smelling house / complex in Springfield. Never gets cleaned glass has been in the park area since I moved in, hair / food/ red stains in the halls and stair ways. Smells like a bowling ally murder Evey day living here I hope nobody will choose this hell as there next home! If its broke it will stay broke my dishwasher has never worked right even constantly complaining. Air conditioning is a joke it breaks and they will just leave u in a 100 degree house. I wish my daughter never had to live in this dump!

This place is the worst! When I lived there I had so many issues from outlets catching fire at random, to only being able to get 10 mins of hot water per hour, then mold growing in the bathroom ( which they tried to paint over) are just a few of the many things that were wrong in my apartment. My dishwasher was broken when i moved in and was spitting up sewage when it was turned on filled my who apartment which was never fixed The maintenance barely showed when putting in work orders and when he did he was drunk just like the property manager who managed the place which ultimately led to me moving out. They pocketed my security deposit and then charged me 289 for cleaning fees and have yet to tell me how my security deposit applied to the Balance. I called corporate and couldnt speak to anyone who could answer my question. But was told they would get back to me and of course no one did. Now they are writing bad rental references out on me and I found that out through a screening company. Do not move here you will regret it forsure

For the price, the apartments size is the only advantage it had to apartments in the area. There are places in the apartments where the maintenance would do a less than stellar job repairing water damage and walls. I lived here for 6 years and it all needs a remodel, I just dont expect the owner to make any changes till its in its worst of conditions. What you see is what you get, and a 200 utility bill in the winter.
