Place is a joke! After calling and being told that an estimate would be done in 2 weeks we brought our car in and paid a deposit to put is in line Our car sat there for over 2 months and we never heard a word form anyone. I called to find out what was going on and was constantly told how busy they were, how they are short staffed and he (Steve) will get to it when he can. If it take over 2 months to get an estimate then how dear god, I can only imagine how long it would take to get the work done. When we finally do get our estimate they over estimate by listing things that dint even need to me done! It really came across as if they didnt know what the heck they are talking about. After all this we tell them we want to pick up the car. Oh sure they say, just call and schedule a time with the desk. Well we call the desk and she says just stop by during opening hours. Haha, that was a joke. We stopped in 3 times, and each time we were told the car wasnt accessible. (blocked in by other cars). The kicker is they charged us for a 5 hour evaluation! Really?! One that we had to call about to even have done. Also, it was never mentioned that our deposit was to pay for said evaluation. This place is so unorganized. We should have known when we dropped the car off that it was going to be trouble. They acted like there werent even expecting us the day we dropped it of even though we had called and set this time up! They wasted 4 months of our time and caused a lot of hassle and headache and still had enough nerve to charge us. DO NOT TAKE YOU VEHICLE TO THIS PLACE!

Excellent service! Had my car in and out in great time, on schedule and very much in our agreed upon price range. Very knowledgeable and capable staff repairs and restores vehicles to a very high standard. Our family has taken many cars to Benhase, from our 1968 Nova to our 1953 MG TD with no problems, they could handle them both. Recently had damage on a 2015 Subaru and they were able to make it look like new. Great group of guys.

We took our 1930 packard there that was not running and they performed what they said they were going to do at the price they said it would be. We left the car there with them with the hopes to get it back in a few weeks, after about 5 weeks I called and explained to them that we were going to have a family photo and would really like to get the car back, they obliged and got it completed and we were able to get the photo of the family with the beloved car. Kudos to them for getting it ready for us. I would recommend them, there wait times are probably to be expected with the amount of business they recieve. Can’t wait to get them our other packard for some major repairs that need done. I Have no doubt they can do it.

I was very happy with the quality of work done by Benhase Restorations in working on my Studebaker. I enjoyed working with Steve and Jim. They were very knowledgeable, and creative in getting my vintage air conditioning, supercharger, and power steering to all fit under the hood, and look really good. I would certainly recommend them to others.

Did a restoration on my 1980 TR7 that I have owned since new. Work was done as promised for the price agreed too and on time. They converted my garage queen into a beautiful daily driver again. They are easy to work with and they know British cars.

I recently had Benhase work on my 86 Monte Carlo SS. Steven and the whole crew were very friendly and professional. They looked it over thoroughly and went over my options with me. It mainly needed a new engine. They put in a 383 stroker. They worked with my wife to get it back to me in time for Christmas as a surprise; I didnt think it would be done anywhere near that soon.I got it back a few days before Christmas. It ran great... until Christmas Eve, when the water pump failed. Our local tow truck man is also the mechanic I use the most; he came to tow the car, looked at the engine, and said immediately it looked like a parts failure, that there was no problem with the installation.Benhase was on it. We live about 3 hours away from them, but the day after Christmas they had a tow service (the name of which I cant remember; I think it was Diamond; they were also very friendly and professional) pick it up and take it back to them. They fixed it as quickly as they could (they had to wait on a fan housing, I think) and I was able to pick it up in about 9 days. And it runs great! I recommend Benhase highly.

Hate to give a bad review to a shop but this place should be a warning to others beware.getting work completed was an ordeal car had to be returned before work was finally finished.more surprises followed damages had mysteriously happened that were not there when I had the car delivered.i was never told of these damages until I got the car returned .owner told me all work discussed was completed and done .i was confused after all this is a restoration shop right.they did eventually fix things the second time after a threatened lawsuit.bbut it was like pulling teeth as far as responsibility .didnt owner inspect the car before it left.maybe he was looking at another car.was there a business problem between us if so let me know like a professional not like a kid.im not Jay Leno but I love the way they used to make these great machines from the past.i can only surmise that this place only wants the big buck projects which is fine but let the rest of us know to save a lot of heartaches in the future ..thankyou jimmy by the way the secretary you have really has my respect she did listen while I vented and showed herself to be a professional.

I am happy to give them a 4-star review... not 5, but only because I havent actually become a customer yet. I went to visit their facility and was fully impressed with the level of professionalism they exhibited, the expertise, and the passion for car restoration. They blew me away! My historic vehicle is in serious need of TLC and Benhase is on my short-list. Hope to work with you and hope to have you earn that fifth star!

The crew at Benhase carried out a partial restoration on my very special 1969 Corvair. This vehicle was owned by the designer of the Corvair, Ned Nickles. Its a very showy car, with a lot of interesting and special trim, detail, and design features. My father purchased this car from Mr. Nickles in 1970, and I now carry on the tradition. Most of the work was mechanical, as the suspension and some of engine sub-systems were in poor shape. It now drives and handles very well. Ed and his paint shop crew did a great job on chips and scratches that had accumulated over the years. If I were looking to conduct a full re-paint, this is the place that I would go to have it done. Overall, these guys really understand and appreciate cars like this. I think that as a customer, it is important to understand up-front that the work-flow for a project like this can take some off-ramps, as there is little that is straightforward in the restoration of a 50 year old vehicle. So, the initial estimate is going to be very approximate. The crew is communicative and responsive, and I found it easy to stay in touch, map out progress, and how this was going to converge on a certain cost for services. Ive not had a partial restoration done prior, so I dont have a basis for comparison. Understand, too, that a restoration house like this has a lot of specialized tools and experience to get things done that would have taken me forever to do, and perhaps impossible to do well. I feel like I got great value, and obtained a better understanding of my car. Also, the folks here got the car done in good time so that I can show it at a well-known car & motorcycle show, the Concours d Elegance, Cincinnati.

Hey. Change your website! If you do NOT do vehicle storage, do NOT advertise that you do. You are either lying snobs or do not have common sense. Also, your free online estimates are a complete joke. You cannot give an online estimate AND say that you have to bring your car in for an estimate.Get a grip.Reply:I walked into your business and was told that you do not do vehicle storage. Maybe YOU should be at the counter and not the female employee who seemed to be more interested into conversing with one of YOUR employees! Also, dont just reply to simple work on vehicles by giving extravagant pricing for an entire rebuild. Change your website to tell potential clients to bring their vehicle in for estimates. Easy and good business practice.

If you value your classic car, you shouldnt take it here. I put a 1965 Ford Mustang into Benhase Restorations knowing a few things had to be done, expecting others not to be. There did an estimate and told us it would cost $500 to do an inspection but charged us $669. In the end, the said it would cost $7000 to do everything, such as changing my fly wheel, installing power brakes and power steering, fixing my carburetor, fixing my electric, redoing my brakes, and changing my shocks. We didnt want to drop $7000 on things that we didnt need so we opted for only my fly wheel being replaced as it was the only thing that we couldnt do ourselves. They said something in my ignition column was messed up and charged us $1200 for that, something we didnt ask them to do. They said my rear turn signals dont work, my shocks are leaking air, my carburetor needs to be replaced, and my drum brakes shoes were on backwards in the rear, which they told us to tow it home because it wouldnt be safe to trust the brakes anyway. Of those, my turn signals work on all sides of the car. My air shocks were not leaking air even the slightest. My carburetor probably wasnt working because the air filter was screwed on to it to the point of almost bending the metal of the air filter (I loosened it when we got the car back home and it started up the first time). The rear brake shoes had been on backwards, but the car was still safe to drive; the brakes stopped the car rather quickly. They also left my cover off my front hood area causing my floor panels to get wet once we transported back home since we didnt know they took it off. The put a chip in my paint on my passenger side door that WAS NOT there before we took it in. Finally, the top chrome trim on my windshield was missing once we returned our car. They claimed it had been lost in transit when we have pictures of the car beforehand. The only two things that they did right was time in shop, about 2 months, and my brake shoes being on backwards. Everything else they shouldnt have tried to get us to pay for when it works. We personally believe these were money grabbing techniques to get us to pay more. In short, DO NOT put your car in here if you want honest work.

Did the online estimate and then had a followup call with someone from the shop. In a nutshell, I just needed new lower fenders welded onto my car (1966 MGB GT). Was told that it would be $25,000 because theyd have to take the whole car down to bare metal and do a total respray. Ive had several other shops quote me on just the work I wanted to have done. Not sure why this place is incapable of anything less than a total restoration on a driver-level car that isnt worth $25,000 in perfect condition. Needless to say I will be taking my car elsewhere.

Sent our 1934 Ford for restoration and after spending over $19,000 the car came back with several of the major issues not addressed. The job was over the estimate and not completed. If you care about your classic/antique car do NOT sent it to these guys.

Not happy with our very short expierence with them. My husband and I purchased a 1992 Ford Foxbody mustang, my husbands dream car, and DROVE it to their shop. My husband called and spoke with Ken before hand, and he was more than happy to tell us about their flexible restoration programs, and they wouldnt have any issues fitting us in. Again, we DROVE the car to their shop where we met with Ken and were informed that they were able to take the car and do a full inspection and put together an estimate for us. We were told we should expect to hear back from them within 2-3 weeks. About a month passed with no contact, when I did call to speak with someone their receptionist then informed me that Ken failed to let us know that they were two months behind and it would be at least another 3-4 weeks before they had a parts estimate. Long story short we felt like we were getting the run around and decided to sell the car. When I called to inform them we would be coming to pick the car up, we were then told that we would be charged $85 an hour for the inspection, which was not discussed with us at the time we dropped the car off, that would be deducted from a deposit we had put down. At this point, we were just wanting to get the car out of there. Upon our arrival, we were told we had to wait for Nick, the owner, to come in to sign a check for our refund. Steve met us at the desk and asked if we had a trailer..... I chuckled and told him oh no we drove the car up here, we are going to drive it home. During the time we were waiting for Steve to bring the car around the owner shows up and passes by me and my husband and didnt even acknowledge we were sitting in the office. He signed the check and walked away, not a very good impression for potential customers. About 10 minutes passed and Steve walks in and says he couldnt get our car started. Another long story short, trying to get the car started Steve was spraying brake cleaner into the carborator instead of starting fluid. The car wouldnt start, on the last attempt the car misfired and, due to the overkill of brake cleaner, caught fire ignighting my husbands sweater as he was trying to put it out. We then had to call a towing company to get the vehicle back to our house. If it was an option I would give them half of a star due to their lack of communication, professionalism, and the fact I wasnt able to pick up my car in the same condition I dropped it off in. For those reasons I wouldnt recommend them to anyone.
