My family enjoys visiting this YMCA. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Very nice fields for outdoor sports leagues and a nice pool. One weird thing — there is a waterslide at the pool, but I have never seen it turned on – I’m not sure if it is “McDonald’s ice cream machine” broken or if it is only turned on for special events.
What is the smell at this Y, this week! The mirrors, floors and locker rooms look like they have not been cleaned since COVID started! We are to wipe the equipment each time what about the mirrors, floors and windows, who cleans them? You need to review your Cleaning Service! They are not doing a good job.
Great facility, lots for the kids to do with group sport and solo fun. My daughter learned to swim here. The big kids ride their bikes over every day to play basketball. The summer camp is great for the kids too. Clean pool and clean locker rooms. I have been a member for 8 years now and plan to stay a member. I cant wait for the governor to lift the restrictions so we can get the fitness center and cardio all back.
Wish they would bring back access to yoga mats and bands and kettle bells etc. Montgomery county had only 50 cases of covid yesterday. Seems like a waste to now allow members access to equipment that is on site. Also, seems weird that you can borrow equipment for classes and wipe them down but not when you are in the gym area. I’m unsure why this has not returned to normal yet.
I love the move to lose class at the Y. If you are experienced or a beginner its a fabulous class. The classes are up to 12 people so you you get individual attention. This class is excellent for someone who is self conscious and is just starting out and needs to be motivated. There is no pressure or judgment its just a class of up to 12 people trying to get healthy and fit. Clay is a great instructor. I think this class needs to be promoted more I did not know about it for years. The class could really help people to begin to exercise again. Thank you
I love going to this gym - everyone is so friendly. However, many visitors do not take precautions and wipe off the equipment (during flue season) when they are done. I always wipe before and after. Some work-out when they are sick coughing all over the place. My husband caught a staph infection and now on antibiotics but I am 100% sure it is from the gym equipment. Please people whip off the equipment - take precautions. A large sign would be nice to remind people and also making it mandatory would be good. Staff is a contact infection. Will still go but will be extra cautious when wiping down the machines. Its a great place to go and it is not the Ys fault......in anyway..
Not a big enough facility for the current number of members. Had a terrible time for the few weeks I was a member. Machines were being used by small children??! Where are the parents... saw one kid about to break his neck using a machine wrong because he looked to be about 7 years old. No matter what time of day you go, you can’t enjoy yourself. Pool is always full, weight room is always full, basketball courts are always full. Would not recommend joining here unless you’re okay with all of springboro staring at you while you try to workout.
Good for basketball, nice people
One of the best Ys in the area.
Front desk staff is wonderful and helpful. Play area and nursery ladies are amazing with my kiddos! Weight area always being cleaned and looking nice.
I love the Coffman YMCA! Everything from the professional, knowledgable staff to the friendly fellow customers. I have been training with Daron for almost one year and have been more than satisfied with his expertise and my results.
I have been a member of the Coffman YMCA for over 10 years. My kids basically grew up with the amazing nursery staff. The front desk employees are so friendly and helpful. I have always loved the abundance of class options, which has allowed me to try so many new things. I absolutely love the instructors. No matter what the age range in the class, they adequately prepare you with warm-ups, cool-downs, and a challenging workout in between! Nothing compares to the Coffman YMCA!
I transferred to the Coffman Y from another location almost five years ago. In addition to being the busiest YMCA Ive ever attended, it is also the most well run. The place is always sparkling clean, the equipment is in top shape. Most important the staff is very efficient, helpful, knowledgeable and above all, very courteous. For me and a host of other Silver Sneaker members going to the Y is a part of our social life. Our day isnt complete without a healthy workout and a visit to the lounge for a cup of coffee or water. Great place and friendly, too.
A very nice recreational facility in the area. They have recreation for all ages in the family like day care, play area, cycle studio, yoga, swimming pool, basket ball court, walking track, lockers and others. They have various classes like swim at a very reasonable price. The staffs are professional. But they can improve on their customer service and portal. They provide family membership and individual membership at a reasonable price.Bottom line - Looking for a family recreation - Coffman YMCA is definitely worth a visit before you decide the facility.
Front desk ppl are great... Prompt and helpful. Machines in good shape, usually no waiting. I go 3 times a week, do my cardio, machines, then up stairs to walk and cool down. All you need in one location.
Coffman YMCA is a class act! I have been a member for many years and have appreciated the family I have with my YMCA friends and staff! Every morning that I come in, I am happily greeted by Sherri. She has so much care and genuine desire to connect with me personally! The friendships Ive gained from the Y are incredible. Its so much more fun to work out with friends than to work out alone! The Y supported me when I was a young mom with fussy boys, just needing a break away from the kids for myself. I needed a time to get healthy, both mentally and physically! They made that possible. My boys have loved things like swim classes, karate, the mat room, and open gym time. The Y is now supporting me as my family has been dealing with some tough times and numerous staff have reached out to help in any way possible. The staff at Coffman YMCA truly care about their members! This is why I love my YMCA!!! You wont regret joining the YMCA family!
This YMCA is very nice. My kids love the kids play area which has a tube climbing area as well as a giant foam block area. There are two pools and one has a slide. The workout areas look nice as well.
Well equipped facility. Expansive offering of classes with great instructors. They make the effort to replace/update equipment with the latest and greatest and add classes that appeal to a wide range of ability. Friendly environment, strong community of members. Front desk morning staff-outstanding.
Great gym. Its a bit crowded at the peak times, but everyone is very considerate when sharing weights and/or machines. I came from a gym that closed... And its quite refreshing seeing as if you were not part of their clique... You were an outcast. Great gym and great people.
The Coffman YMCA is my home away from home. The fitness classes are excellent, the childcare is fabulous and the staff are like a second family to me. When I went through a battle with cancer 3 years ago, one of the staff sent a card in the mail every Monday for my 4 months of treatment. That is above and beyond! I would give the Y 10 stars if I could.
Great for our community. I have been going to the Coffman Y for five plus years 4 to 5 times a week. They continue to keep pace by adding new equipment every year. In addition, I attend several of the free classes and enjoy them as well.Keep up the great work.tagg madden
I have been coming to the Springboro Y for over 10 years. At first it was just a place to do my workout. Then I started getting involved in the many different classes they offer. Soon, going to the Y wasnt just for the exercise, it was about the people. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They genuinely care about your health and will make suggestions to get the most out of your time there. You cant help but start your day off right with the delightful and funny duo of Sherri and Debbie greeting you at the desk! I have become friends with many other members who are now like family to me. I would highly recommend this Y if you are looking for a place to get a great workout and meet some great people!!
A great bargain for seniors. Classes of all types, and the opportunity for social activities. Wonderful facilities, kept in excellent condition. Excellent instructors, and many classes are free. It has helped immensely in improving my flexibility and upper body strength.
When my son first started taking swim lessons he was doing ok, but now that he is in he Polliwog class he has thrived due to his instructor Tucker. I am in awe of Tucker because he has compassion for all the kids that come to him. He knows when the child is fearful of the water. He makes them feel comfortable and relaxed and they are able to perform at their pace with confidence. The YMCA itself is a great place to be. They are professional and courteous and very helpful when approached with questions, comments or concerns.
They discriminate
Kind of dirty and very expensive for what it is.
For the past 12 years the Coffman Y has afforded me and my family with a variety of quality health and wellness services form babysitting, swim lessons, kids parties to group exercise. The group exercise program, by far, exceeds any other facility I have been to in the quality of instructors, variety of classes, and multiple time offerings. The cardio machines and equipment are well maintained. The staff are friendly, welcoming and always ready to provide assistance. The facility is like a second home to me in that I visit it almost everyday and have fostered some of my closest friendships there.
In early 2013 I started using the Coffman Y to train for a charity bike ride across America. The staff and cycling classes were extremely helpful and I was well prepare to ride from San Francisco to Bethany Beach Delaware averaging 64 miles per day.I also use the fitness staff and the ActiveTrax system to do full body workouts. What a great community resource! We are blessed.
The Coffman Y is one of the better gyms I have visited and by far the best YMCA in the Greater Dayton area. The facility is great the staff is even better- especially Sherrie that works the front desk. She is the best!
Went for the first time as a guest with my friend who is a member. The staff is very helpful and Sherrie, in particular, was lovely! Would recommend to anyone looking for a gym in the Dayton area
Once a good YMCA but seems to be having trouble lately. Video controls on cardio equipment doesnt work correctly on many machines. Fun programs like Expresso that used to be updated every other week hasnt been updated in four months. Locker rooms and pool access lost for extended periods for repairs or painting. Hopefully they turn it around.
Nice facility but far too small! Members are not at all friendly to anyone new. They either totally ignore you, are rude to you or ask you what are you doing there. You cannot get near exercise equipment because its too crowded and if you are lucky enough to get a piece of equipment you cant find anyone to help you. I say skip it!!! 😗😐
I gave it 3 stars because I enjoy the actual gym, but the child care is awful. Ive only tried to put my daughter in it about 5 or 6 times and every single time Ive checked on her through the mirror, I witness them ignoring my crying child. Its obviously not their fault my child is crying, but their job is to at least try to calm her down by picking her up or playing with her. If that doesnt work then they should come get me.One day I came to pick her up and could hear her crying as I walked in. When I asked where she was they just pointed at her sitting on another childs lap. This is so rude and unprofessional. Today was the last straw for me. After I dropped her off I came back a few minutes later and couldnt see her through the window, but thought I heard her crying. After a minute or two I see a worker from across the room come over and pick up my crying child. Great, but the only problem is that she was standing by the front desk where there was another worker (who wasnt tending to anyone at the desk) just standing there. Is this how these people are trained? To ignore crying children?I just warn other parents whose children dont do so well in these situations to check on them once in a while. Just because they havent come to get you doesnt mean your child is doing well.
I love this place, I just wish they were open til 11 through the week.
Love it! Great for family. Yoga, p90x, basketball, etc. They have it all. Great for my 5 children and mom and dad. Staff is very friendly and always willing to help.
One of the best gyms I have ever played on:)Also check me out on YouTube at Queen Mary: In My Life:)
Staff is helpful and the facility is nice, with lots of equipment, pool, courts, etc. Lessons have been great for my kid and I and the membership is not too pricey. Overall, a really good place to workout.
Love being a part of the Coffman YMCA! All the equipment is up-to-date and the facility is very clean. The staff is very helpful and welcoming!
I frequently visit all of the YMCA in the Greater Dayton Area. Ive been to Ys in practically every state that has one. They each have their own unique personalities, strengths and weaknesses. However, in my opinion if youre looking for the best fitness classes, the most knowledgeable staff, a friendly atmosphere, a diverse fitness and activity schedule, and some of the best (if not the best) zumba instructors in the state (if not the nation), then you need to go to the Coffman YMCA. It is SLAMMIN!
Majority of staff is in their mid twenties and turn over of the in flux of clients is at times heavy; therefore staff would not have to much time to attend the needs of individual, at that time. Understanding of this would help the staff serve all.
Nice facility - Great Staff/Instructors - Plenty of Equipment - A nice selection of classes/times
I got a membership there after going to everybody fitness who btw had a huge deal with cancelling my membership, this place is awesome. My son loves the childcare and the gym has very good equipment.
Great staff equipment and locker rooms Very clean
Nice equipment. Great layout. Needs an outdoor pool!
Group exercises, instructors are all great except the staff. Very rude especially the front desk. Half of the time they are confused about the class schedules. I go here as I dont have much options.
Join this Y if you have no other options. A very monopolistic Y. They say they go by the judeo- Christian principles, but they are not even close those principles. They need to start practicing what they preach!!!!The next best thing about this Y is the fitness staff. Such a bad bunch. They think no end of them selves. As long as the members scratch there back, they will help you, save a spot in the class or even go the extra mile to let you cheat and get a spot for those hard to get in classes. If you buy a bottle of wine for some higher level managent staff at this Y, you can run for president of this Y. Hows that for fairness???Think before you get a membership at this Y.
The Coffman YMCA has a friendly staff, exceptional facilities, and a wonderful childcare program. We attend the Coffman YMCA daily and have enjoyed the experience for our entire family.
I have been involved with the Coffman YMCA for several years now with the kids sports, Adventure Guides, and Miracle league baseball. It has been an extremely positive experience. The sports staff at the YMCA are excellent, and I would recommend getting kids involved in the programs. My three year old son with Autism has recently started participating in Miracle League baseball, and it has been a wonderful experience to see him get involved. The Adventure Guides father/son campout this year was great, and the YMCA does a terrific job organizing this event. The staff and facility at Coffman are a great addtion to Springboro!!!!
Friendly staff and well maintained facility.
Nice place to be. Friendly environment.
Its always crowded. Pool is always full.
Ive been a member of the Coffman Y for about 13 years. I absolutely love it! I always tell everyone that they have the best selection of classes and times Ive ever seen at any gym at any location. Whenever we go out of town I try to visit other Y locations. No one even comes close to the schedule, cleanliness, or friendliness (both staff and members). I like that I have the freedom with my membership to go to any Dayton area Y for no additional cost too. When you walk in youre always met with a smile. I dont think Ive ever left there with a good-bye. I workout a lot in the mornings. I can always count on Sherri for a laugh to start my day. No matter your age or weight theres a class there for you and they make you feel like youre hanging out with friends.Instructors are all so much fun and helpful. They are all so great that it would take too much time to name them all. I take Zumba, x-bootcamp, cycling, cardio-kick, and yoga, so theres a huge variety. Ive stayed after classes to ask about form and never felt like I was being a pain. I really like that they take the time to get to know class members and try to give new folks extra help and encouragement. The latest thing at the Coffman Y that has me working hard is ActivTrax. Ive lifted weights for many years. I seem to get in a rut and just do the same thing every time. A member of the fitness staff told me about ActivTrax. She did my strength test with me, set up my account for the type of workout I wanted and my goal. After 98 workouts today Im still getting a varied workout that keeps me moving forward as she always encourages. The classes they offer to kids are great too. Movement, arts and humanities and sports... they offer it all. My son enjoys going to the childcare there and attending art classes. He is excited to try out their sports teams too.Ive made some wonderful friendships there that encourage me to not miss my workouts and we still have fun outside the Y! Im thankful that my family has such a fabulous place to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Obviously I love this place or I wouldnt be able to go on like this!
Ive been going to the coffman ymca since it has opened. i loved it then and still loving it today.julie hecht
Our family really enjoys the Coffman YMCA! Especially the aquatics and fitness programs.
Never before have I been treated with more disrespect and antagonizing behavior than here at this gym.
Love watching my granddaughter play volleyball here.
I love Kellis pilates classes!
Absolutely horrible customer service. Will not be coming back to this location.
Wi-Fi is almost never working 😞
I just think they are horribly unorganized. Trying to get my 13 year old an orientation on the equipment - scheduled two appointments and both times the trainer is too busy and/or forgot the appointment. The front desk is clueless and not the friendliest crew.
The best YMCA Ive been too!!!
Good place for any type of workout
Wish I could give it 0 stars for how horribly I was treated
Awesome staff,best instructors, friendly atmosphere
Great programs, members and staff.
Wonderful facility.
Nice gym.
The only thing missing is a sauna!
Nice and cleen like it
This is the best YMCA in the country.
I like the pool here
Best YMCA!
