I’m really disappointed to see EP have such low stars on here... everyone i encountered there was lovely at a bare minimum... many of them lifesaving. I found the best therapist I’ve ever had there— the groups are AMAZING.. i can’t say enough good things. I am a fat person who always said “i don’t have an eating disorder i just have a bad relationship with food. I’ve tried every diet i just can’t stick to them long term.” If this is you... don’t hesitate to make an apt. The first steps are the hardest.

I was never able to get appointments on a consistent schedule, causing me to forget appointments. They do not call or text to remind you they only send an email the day of 10 minutes before it’s supposed to happen. I was charged $200 for missing two appointments that were online. They let you waive them 3x but if I would have forgotten more appointments i would have had to pay them. Complete waste of my time and it added so much more stress than what I went to them for. Go to frontier or something else, anything else than this.

I think that the staff here are super nice and supportive. I’ve had a good friend that has spent a lot of time here, and she’s told me multiple times that it was lifesaving. I know if is really hard to start treatment, but it as really the best decision she’s ever made.

I was told I would receive a $90 refund check for copays I paid but did not need to pay. I waited 7 weeks, as the woman on the phone told me processing would take 6-8. When I called they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about and said no one should have told me that. My insurance also covers weight-related counseling but the Emily Program says they wont bill for that. They just want your money. The reviews tell you what you need to know- avoid this place, there are plenty of counselors out there.

Ive been also trying to seek out for help. I am so glad I read the reviews before going here. By the sounds of things we could all come together and be in a body positive group that focuses on nutrition and help one another; instead of ending up with more unneeded issues by going here...

I was a client that went here just recently and it was a huge mistake. This place was a absolute joke and a horrible place to go. The Emily Program taught me how to have a eating disorder. All they do there at Program is stuffing food down the persons face. And straight up lie to your face. They also dont know how to teach you about food but they teach you how to have more problemsThey only care about money, and will say whatever they need to, in order to sign you up. They dont care about helping people recover. No solution only huge bills. If I was you I wouldnt go to this place. The staff there are not educated at all.

Parents beware: We did find some useful help for our 13 year old daughter, but....... there is a radical political and moral agenda being pushed on children as young as 11. Counselor advise in GROUP setting to a 17 year old smoker (marijuana is a better alternative to tobacco because it clears the lungs more quickly) more pearls of wisdom to the group (Donald Trump is like Hitler in the 1930s) followed by several persuasive arguments to back that. The list goes on. When we voiced our concerns to the director no personnel changes were made, and lack of professionalism just keeps rolling .

My daughter says her counselors were really good and felt like they truly cared. Billing on the other hand could care less about working with you to find a reasonable payment plan and rather send a 18 year old kid to collections. Emily program made over 100k in insurance payouts yet they could care less about the stress they create by being unreasonabl. Hopefully my daughter will be approved for some medical backpay help through the state, hopefully they will extend their deadline if so maybe Ill change my review to a good one and they will change my way of thinking. As of right now its that they really dont care about your kid, they just want money.

I went to this program for a few weeks to help my eating disorder..and it is well known that it is a mental disorder. And yet, I was placed with a therapist that knew nothing about eating disorders and didnt know how to help me. The therapist does not belong in this program and that alone ruined the whole experience for me. It felt like a bad joke. There are other things wrong with this place. I wouldnt recommend.

Horrible. It may have been just our experience, but we feel they are trying hard and not able to come up with a working program. DO NOT let them string you along with promises. Eating disorders are far too dangerous and deadly. Please seek a successful clinic. Our needs were met at Denver Childrens Hospital (NOT Eating Recovery Clinic, ERC). Denver Childrens Hospital has seperate child and adolescent eating disorder programs, both in and out patient. They teach FBT, family based therapy, and parents work with a nutritionist, medical Dr, and therapists, to learn what, how, and when to feed to support structure and low anxiety in your child. The kids get tools and skills to help lower their anxiety while getting the mental health benefits of a full support staff.Yes, it is a commitment to go to Denver for 6 to 8 weeks... but well worth it. Denver Childrens Hospital has been providing families help for over 28 years and that experience shows from the first time you walk in the door. Denver Childrens Hospital has 2 Ronald McDonald Houses that serve the families in treatment, which allow you to stay for only $20 a night with shuttle service to the hospital and local stores. To learn how to handle this disease takes learning side by side with professionals so you and your child can live successfully.DO NOT waste time with the Emily Program. Get the help you need!UPDATE: Responding to owner comment... There is no need to file a grievance if the persons in charge are not interested. I spoke directly to the office manager and the clinic director to no avail. I called the corporate office and had 2 lengthy conversations of our experience with corporate administrators over the course of a week.To be blunt, my issues were not unknown. Not to the director, office manager, nutritionist, counselor, receptionist, or to corporate. I needed to keep my daughter alive... not make sure your clinic stays open.My daughter had a resting heartbeat in the 30s to 40s with her ears and feet turning gray from lack of blood supply. We found phenomenal help at Denver Childrens Hospital and could not continue taking the advice to wait a week for a new therapy group to start. 2 years later she is thriving and I only wish we had not wasted time out of treatment dealing with the Emily Program.Spokane local recommended therapist: Rae Swenson located on the South Hill. Shes been amazing! (look for my review)

The Emily Program is incredible. They met me right where I was at every single day I was there. They didnt judge at all and they were very patient with my stubbornness the entire year I was there. TEPs staff saved my life and offered/offer me continous support in all mental health areas such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma therapy in addition to eating disorder therapy. They can also work with many other disorders such as personality disorders and OCD. They care about the people more than anything else. I would highly recommend going to The Emily Program for treatment.

Im 16 with an eating disorder, if youre reading this the reviews should be enough to repel you from coming here I dont want my mom ending up with a huge bill because of a lie at whats only a chance to get better and by the looks of it a small one, we people are struggling and some so bad that they want nothing more than to die because theyre hopeless to take advantage and give false hope is horrific.

Going to this facility was a huge mistake. Over 6 months later Im still dealing with their mistakes. I confirmed they took my insurance before I ever made an appointment. They assured me they did. My insurance contacted them to set up billing and let them know how many sessions Id been approved for. Everything was fine until I got a huge bill in the mail. I called the billing department, which is in Minnesota, and was told that they dont work with my insurance and they wont submit any paperwork at all, that I needed to submit the bill myself. So I then called my insurance company who told me they would not pay the bill unless Emily Program submitted the paperwork and that they have consistently had problems with them doing this. I called TEP back. Beth, in Billing, rudely told me they were not going to submit anything because we arent set up to do that. I told them they didnt have to submit it electronically, my insurance could also accept it via mail, and I even had the address for her. She said no. We dont do that. You dont mail things??? Seriously? So I had to cancel all of my appointments, abruptly ending counseling. After several months of dealing with this, I went to the BBB and lodged a complaint. TEP responded promptly, in writing, promising to bill the insurance. They also called and left me a voicemail telling me that. Four months later, I get a call out of the blue from TEP threatening to send me to collections if I dont pay. I call my insurance and find out they never did submit anything. My insurance called them and called me back to tell me TEP is once again refusing to submit the bill, now claiming Im a self-pay and never said I had insurance. I reopened the BBB complaint. They refused to respond this time and are essentially flat-out refusing to simply mail a piece of paper to my insurance company. Im now stuck with about $1500 in bills because they REFUSE to mail a form. I dont understand. I NEVER would have gone to them if they hadnt taken my insurance. There are other providers in Spokane that deal with ED. This has been a nightmare. As for the actual treatment, it seemed like a joke. I first had to talk to someone claiming to be a social worker over the phone and give my entire ED history before she would let me make an appointment. I was 10 minutes late for my first appointment because I had trouble finding it, and they made me reschedule. That wouldnt have been so bad except that EVERY SINGLE appointment they were 10 minutes late. The first appointment, I talked to a counselor and repeated everything I said over the phone. Thats it. For several hundred dollars. Then I spent 15 minutes filling in bubbles on a test to determine if I really have an eating disorder. For appointment #2, I talked to yet another person and had it confirmed that yes, I do in fact have an eating disorder. Thats around $300-$400 just to have someone tell you something you already knew. THEN I actually got assigned a therapist, which I saw on my third visit. Again, mine was late every time, and we ended early, so it was something like $200 for a 40-minute appointment where she seemed uncomfortable and at a loss for words. We talked about things like breathing, and I got a lot of sales pitches for joining various groups and programs. We never really talked about anything of any substance, and the only time we talked about my ED was when she told me I need to stop. Because thats helpful. I got the impression I was nothing but dollar signs for these people. Everything felt insincere and sales-pitchy.
