The ladies in the leasing office go above and beyond to ensure all needs are met. Theyre very friendly, accommodating, and work hard to maintain a very high level of customer service. The building(s) are beautiful and very well maintained inside and out. Ive only been here a short time, but residents seem to try and respect each other and there have been no extraordinary noise levels that Ive noticed. If youre looking for a spacious environment, which a lot of people working remotely will appreciate, and enjoy updated appliances and a visually pleasing layout, youll do well in this community.
I am a current renter at this place and I have had nothing but a bad experience from the time I moved in. The apartment was not clean. The crown molding was water damaged from the shower in the bathroom. The carpet was dirty and needed to be replaced. The unit had not been painted. The windows which was what drew me to rent here were dirty on the outside. The oven had not been cleaned. I took pictures of all these things and I will post them just so people can see. For these to be considered luxury apartments and for the amount of money I pay the management has been very resistent in fixing these things. I have made work order requests just to have the regional manager walk through my unit and deny them after they had been approved in a written email from their site manager. This place is definitely not ran properly. I would not rent here.
Bunch of Richie rich, mommy and daddys got the bill, kind of people. They all judge a book by its cover!!Fun to watch them though.. Haha
Management is rude and unprofessional if you don’t renew your lease. The property changed management groups in the middle of my lease. “ Big mistake” RKW management corporate office doesn’t respond to complaints, nor address tenant issues. The current management officials are charging me $758 dollars because I didn’t give 60 day notice, but my contract states a minimum of 30 days is required. I verified this with the NAA whom drafted the lease and stated to me “A 30 day notice is sufficient time to terminate a lease toward the end of a tenant’s rental agreement ”. I let them know 41 days prior to my lease ending and due to the property hurting for tenants they want me to fit the bill. No thank you! Maintenance staff are great, but management is horrible!
I’ve lived here 2 weeks and this place is AMAZING. They have amazing facilities on site including pizza, a gym and much more. The ladies in the office are amazing. Lauren handled my move and all through email and catered to me perfectly. They always greet you with a smile. I was hesitant to move in after reading reviews talking about noise. I’ve barely heard a thing besides pups running around. The inside is gorgeous and very unique. Love love love it here.
These apartments will AT FIRST sweep you off your feet. You will shortly realize after moving in that they are cheaply set up. Cheap appliances (we had to replace our stove a couple weeks after moving in) and cheap fixtures. Fans that are noisy. Washer and dryer that smell. You get the picture. Oh, and the icing on the cake is the dogs barking at all hours of the night which we have recently had issues with. You can best sum it up in 4 words: cheap dormitory and kennel. That’s all this is. Don’t waste your money. Go buy a house. If anything, don’t give these people your business. They aren’t helpful anyways.
We really love it here. We were worried when they switched management, but it has still been great. And now they bring our packages to the door instead of going to the office!
Have been living at Drayton since September 2019. I cannot say enough good things about this place! Had the easiest move in with the staff- Marissa was so helpful with ALL of my questions (which there were many!). Continue to remain happy with my decision to call Drayton Lofts Home! A very pet friendly community full of nice tenants!
Love it here
I went here to look at apartments with my sister and I absolutely loved it. Its a beautiful apartment, the windows are gorgeous and my sister loved the exposed brick! The office staff was absolutely amazing, so sweet and made the experience wonderful! I have a home but I love to share positive experiences with others. I hope my sister moves here because this would be an amazing place to call home!
Staff is always very friendly to work with! Maintenance is very quick to fix any problems. Buildings and grounds are very well maintained, with a great pool! I would recommend this to everybody!I love all of the things to do and eat within the Drayton community!
Drayton mills is a awesome place to live! It is definitely worth the money! Management, maintenance, and the residence are awesome! Lauren, Marisa, and Connie from management have been great to deal with! The restaurants and everything else at the market place are amazing and very convenient! I’m only about 3 minutes from the east side and 5 minutes from down town. I’ve lived in 3 other apartment complexes since I’ve started college and I can say I will be here for a couple more years, no doubt the best complex I’ve lived in since I moved to Spartanburg!
My husband and I have lived at Drayton Mills for nearly 2 years now and have loved every minute of it. To have access to a dog park, lots of green space, and a walking trail while still being a short drive from downtown Spartanburg is great. The other amenities (fitness center, pool, and Drayton Marketplace) also make living here really enjoyable. Maintenance is very quick to respond to any issues and management takes resident concerns very seriously. We look forward to re-signing our lease for year 3!
These apartments are great not to mention the staff is incredible! The people in the leasing office were super helpful and answered any questions that I had efficiently and politely. Would definitely recommend checking this place out!
With the gorgeous architecture and amazing staff I’m not sure I’d like to live anywhere else. Also if you’re thinking of moving here I’d highly recommend it. The new manager is amazing and so are all the other ladies in the office!
An awesome place to live & work & play. Highly recommend for all VCOM students. My personal favorite are the TWO trail systems within walking distance away. Plenty of awesome coffee & food options also within walking distance.
Drayton mills is an great place to live. The people in the office go above and beyond for the residents. The place is beautiful and clean. They hold functions for the residents so they can get to know each other and form a community feeling. I have lived here for two years and it has been amazing experience.
What an awesome place to live! The restaurants, brewery, coffee shop and workout facility are all super convenient. I also love the easy access to walking trails. Drayton Mills Lofts is a great community with wonderful neighbors and staff! Come check it out..you wont be disappointed.
The best thing about Drayton Mills is the community style living! Most of the residents are super friendly and all know each other. I love the way the complex is laid out and enjoy walking the dog around the campus at any time of the day. I see people complaining about the noise, but honestly it hasn’t been that bad for me. It is apartment living so you do hear your neighbors from time to time but it’s not as bad as some of the other apartment complexes around here. I’ve enjoyed me time living here and will be sad to leave when the time comes!
My husband and our two little girls just moved to Drayton Mills lofts in February and we absolutely love it here! The staff is very helpful and friendly. The maintenance service is really fast. Not to mention the restaurant downstairs are great and also burn boot camp! I just love this place! 🤗
Nice apartment complex. It used to be an old mill that is now full of apartments. The apartments themselves are pretty nice though some bedrooms lack natural sunlight. Hall ways to get to apartments are empty, it needs a little more life. Very cool layout though and interesting place to live. Good location
I have been living here for 2 months now and love this place. They did a good job of converting the mill to a residential place; It feels like living in a museum with the photos and artifacts from the mill lying around. It is so quiet and peaceful, had no issues with my home, neighbors or management.
Our boys love living at Drayton Mills Lofts! They have been enjoying the saltwater pool and love exploring the low low basement level of the complex that connects both buildings. The community room is well designed and features a full kitchen-- great for having friends over during the Summer! We have only had one problem with neighbors throwing a 1 AM party, but the courtesy officer took care of it for us rather quickly. Overall, it is an apartment and you will hear your neighbors from time to time. It is just a part of apartment living. Our spacious loft is well loved and we hope to stay here for a few more years until we purchase our dream home! :)
I moved into these apartment because at first glance, they really are stunning. The historical aspect is very appealing. You get swept away when you’re touring by all of the “great culture and history”. However, shortly after I moved in, I began to notice the shortcuts that were taken in the individual apartments with cheap appliances and hardware, among other issues. Another common problem we’ve experienced and heard from other residents is the lack of concern by the staff for the residents. It is an extremely money-driven environment and I am thankful to be leaving these apartments. Oh, and the “dog friendly community” is a pure stance to get more money. I will never recommend these apartments to anyone again.
There are alot of amazing people here. The office helps with issues, and have been awesome to be around. The atmosphere here is great as many of us get together and meet at the Brewery or dog park and visit. If you are looking for and nice place to be, try here.
There is NEVER any parking. Walk a mile to and from your car. Pitty with super cold and rainy days.
I toured there this weekend and was blown away by the apartment homes!! The staff is so friendly and helpful and made the tour fun! The amenities are hands down the best!!
Awful management. Property manager told me I could either get rid of my dog or move out! Lived here for 2 years never had a problem until now.update; The staff that is there helped me out a ton, thankfully that property manager isnt there anymore. this really is a great place to live and looking around it has the best community. if you are sensitive to noise though this is not a good place for you.
Dont waste your time. My daughter and her husband live here and we will never recommend. The staff is rude and it isnt worth the money.
I was looking for a home with old charm and character when I relocated to upstate S.C.. The first time I walked into Drayton Mill Lofts I knew I had found it. The beautiful brick, the incredible ceilings with massive beams, the grand windows, and the character of the hardwood floors that reflect the years of a working mill all replicate what I was searching for here in Spartanburg. The staff at Drayton go above and beyond, from the ease of the leasing process, answering my many questions through moving, making sure that everything was ready for my move in day, along with the maintenance and grounds staff. A lot of attention to detail! And if all this isn’t enough, read the history of this mill and you will come to truly appreciate the expertise of those who saved this historic building that I am lucky enough to now call home.
My fiancé and I have lived at Drayton Mills Loft Apartments for the past year, and we’ve had an awful experience. We’ll start off with the good: Drayton is beautiful; it’s an old, refurnished textile mill turned into apartments. There is a gym, two restaurants, a bar, and a pool all on property that add to the beautiful atmosphere.BUT, when it comes to practicality and comfort of living, Drayton is FAR from that. Due to it being so old, the floors are unbelievably thin. This leads you to be able to hear EVERYTHING from the apartments above or below you. Whether that be your downstairs neighbor’s morning alarm, microwave, or TV, you hear it all. No matter what the people above or below you are doing, you can hear everything. This makes studying, relaxing, or sleeping at home virtually impossible. I have slept with ear plugs in for the past 6 months. There is no escape from the noise. I’ve discussed my concerns with the administration here at Drayton, but it has been to no avail. Even after making multiple written complaints, they refuse to provide me and my fiancé any assistance. One night the noise and smell of marijuana got so bad that we were forced to go get a hotel. We called the security officer on campus here and he told us that since the tenant below us didn’t answer the door, that there was nothing more he could do. Their customer service and handling of these issues have been very unprofessional. Please don’t fall into the same trap so many have before you by being blown away with how beautiful Drayton is without thinking about the practicality of actually living here.I am a med school student at VCOM and it has been impossible to study here or even get a good nights rest. I am very disappointed with the way Drayton has handled the situation as we have had no relief from the noise.
Drayton Mills Lofts is a wonderful place to live! The lofts are so spacious and you couldn’t ask for a better location! They are conveniently close to everything! The staff here at the leasing office are quite friendly as well!
Our daughter moved in July 2016. She loves her apartment, the complex, and the location. She enjoyed decorating such a unique space. Drayton is a fun, safe place to live. The staff and management are always friendly and available. We definitely recommend living at Drayton!
Drayton Mills is beautiful but it would be the last place I recommend anyone to live. It is a very unhealthy living environment as you will go crazy because you can hear everything from the apartment above and below you. (Microwave beep, private conversations, loud music, tv) The noise in Drayton has made it impossible to get a good nights rest. Of course the noise is a lot of who you live above or below (which we live above very noisy people) but due to the age of the building and the building having the original floors, they are very thin and you can here anything and everything. I even heard the lady underneath us giving her card number to someone over the phone and she was doing so in a normal voice. If you do have issues at Drayton and you go talk to management, they will be NO help. I had come to the conclusion that we had just chose a bad place to live due to the looks but that hopefully management would be able to help us somehow (talk with the people to help with the noisy parties underneath, loud music all day and night, move us to another apartment, let us out of our lease 2 months early to get some peace, be kind in understanding our problems and actively help) but yet none of that happened. They just keep telling us they are moving out soon just wait. (We have been told this for over a month). After over a month of noise complaints, we have had no relief. Even talking with the regional manager, she has done nothing to help and just said we have to wait it out. (Easy for them to say because they do not have to live in it). Very poorly managed and very noisy. My fiancé is in med school and I am a teacher and living in this place has made it impossible for me to do my job and him to study. I have lived in many apartments and townhomes and have never had a problem like this. Even when I have had a problem at another apartment complex, management has handled it in a timely manner and has had interest in their residents well being and opinions. I do not recommend Drayton Mills at all.
Luxury Lofts are becoming a huge deal, especially in regions of the south spotted with old mill towns. Drayton Mills was executed great! Not only did they keep and enhance all the features that make the old mill attractive, they enhanced historical features and stayed true to the spirit of the region. In addition they developed the surrounding areas so living in and old mill doesnt mean you have to live with old run-down surroundings. I enjoyed my tour, and look forward to what future developments they might make. Connections to natural water features and a biking/walking trail to downtown - great for new age hipsters!
As a fan of the new trend of loft living, this place is poorly run. Especially considering the other loft style apartments around now. Don’t waste your time on this place when there are better options for the money. I visited recently and the neighbors were rude. I sat outside with a friend and heard about the attempted murder on site by a convicted felon that lived here. Don’t these people do background checks?? It doesn’t seem like the safest place to live. Oh, and the price is outrageous. Not worth it.
Personally I have fully enjoyed my experience living at Drayton. The amenities are great! There’s close by food for when you are too busy to go out! The noise has not been an issue for me, and the maintenance team is on top of things when you notify them of any problems in the building or your apartment. They will come and replace my stove light over and over because I leave it on to see at night. The office is kind and helpful to the best of their ability and are always willing to help with your needs. I will be starting my second year lease soon and am looking forward to it.
I used to work at Milliken, so the restoration that they have done on this building is great. The grounds are beautiful. However, as someone who now works with several people that live here I have heard nothing good about residing in these apartments. There have been consistent complaints of bad experiences with the manager, loud neighbors at all hours of the night, and people not picking up after their dogs. Oh, and I heard about the convicted felon living there that almost killed someone. This just doesnt seem like the place I would want to live or recommend to anyone else.
My husband & I have lived here since December 2015. We have been very pleased with everything available here from the garbage pickup to maintenance orders. The leasing office goes out of their way to help you. We have especially been impressed with the power bills weve received; our last bill was $69! Ive lived in three houses in my 37 years of marriage, but I can truly say this is my dream home.
Beautiful layout. I love all of the shops and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
It is a pity the way they manage this place. The apartments and the installations are cool but there are several problems like noises, the pool cleaning and, above all, that the staff do what they want. They go into your apartment without a prior notice and depending on the type of tenant they consider you are they treat you in a different way.
I recently attended the Hocus Pocus - movie on the lawn & it was fabulous! This was my first time on this property & I was blown away. It is absolutely gorgeous!
I have had a great experience here so far. The entire staff has been very accommodating and willing to help whenever they could. The amenities are a huge perk about living at Drayton. There is a little bit of noise, but in the overall scheme of things I am very happy with my apartment.
Though I have only toured the property, I am sure being a resident has its perks! Close to downtown Spartanburg, numerous schools nearby, and the growing marketplace on property. Being a history buff, it is also intriguing to see a building that would have normally been torn down in this day and age, be refurbished and created into modern homes for hundreds. Drayton Mills is a must see.
Absolute garbage.
Beautiful renovation of the overall building - look and feel. However, the individual units are very cheaply done: thin kitchen cabinets, one piece showers, and doors that I could put a football through (I dont have a strong arm).
Such a great community and beautiful apartment homes! The office staff helps create a wonderful environment to be in and are always there to help!
I love living at Drayton Mills because the community is so friendly and the office staff is AMAZING!
This place seems AWESOME! I only visited but the whole complex had a good bit of nice amenities, including a great restaurant. The renovation to the mill buildings is stunning and makes for beautiful and interesting apartments with high ceilings, great large windows and unique lobby space. It is a good location and convenient to different parts of Spartanburg but also in area that isnt too busy/not too much traffic
My family and I loved living here for a year. The community is great and the staff was wonderful. We had a few mantience issues that were addressed very quickly and thoroughly. The pool was always very well maintained and we loved the grilling area. Honestly, the entire grounds is always very well maintained. Our favorite part was definitely the community. We made many friends at the social events and around the dog park.We would still be living at Drayton if we hadnt moved away from spartanburg.
The apartments are beautiful, however some tenets have no respect for the well established community around them. They party at the pool in the warmer months till wee hours, most of the tenets speed through the 15 mph streets, pull out in front of oncoming traffic. We were hoping that this venture would revitalize the neighborhood, but instead it’s quickly becoming a hinderance
Here is my experience with Drayton. It is a nice place to live and I enjoyed the apartment and the space; however, being an old large building it echoes at a lot. I could hear when people were walking down the halls and talking and it is very disruptive. The staff was nice and maintenance was prompt in responding when there was an issue. However, when i went to check out due to the fact that i was moving I had sent in my notice more than 60 days in advance. On my move out day, I walked into the office to turn in my key and check on my account. I had asked if there was a remaining balance to my account and if I owed any money at all before I left the front office. I was told that my account balance was zero and that I did not owe anything on my account. With this information i turned in my keys and headed out to my new apartment. 30 days later i get an email saying that I owe a balance on my account and that I had no choice but to pay. In speaking with the manager I told her my situation and how i was told that my account balance was zero and that I did not own any money. She responded saying that she was sorry but that I had to pay the money despite the incorrect information that I was given when i moved out. With the amount of money that I was paying to live there I was just shocked that I was told one thing and expected to do another. When moving out the story changes and they dont make you aware of the thing that you need to do in order to properly move out. Now i am dealing with trying to scrape up enough money to pay a termination fee when I specifically was told that my balance was zero.
Love living here! Beautiful high ceilings! Historic living with an upscale feel! So many restaurants close by and easily accessible to amenities!
Ive visited my friends apartment many times, and this could be one of the good complex in Spartanburg. The apartment comes with all kitchen appliances and washer/dryer which is neat. My friend loves living here.
Awesome campus. We love the coffee shop and the pizza restaurant on site. Everyone is always friendly.
Drayton Mills Loft Has EVERYTHING You Need!!! The Staff Is VERY PROFESSIONAL,THE ATMOSPHERE IS AWESOME AND APARTMENT ARE SO LUXURY!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DRAYTON MILLS LOFT!!! ONCE YOU VISIT DRAYTON MILLS LOFT YOU WILL SEE WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!!!
Staff is very friendly and resourceful. The grounds are well kept and the amenities awesome.
I have been here a couple of months shy of a year with my wife and daughter and I have to say when we first got here it was great. The staff was very friendly but after a change in management it went down hill the only thing the new management is concerned about are getting all the VCOM medical students in here that they can they even have a move in special for them just scroll down a little and you will see what I mean. Apparently this is the only place in the state of South Carolina where its legal to smoke weed so if you are a VCOM student and mommy and daddy are paying the bills and you smoke weed this is the place for you
Very nice location and layout. Very local to many restaurants, grocery stores and general shopping..
Would not live here. My roommate and I lived here for 2 years in the spinning building (main building) in a 2br 2ba corner unit. The apartments are very nice looking with high ceilings and nice appliances. The gym is nearly useless but most (3/4 bikes) are broken in someway and have been for the entire 2 years i was there. A treadmill was broken for few months and the free weights are lacking with only 1 bench. The pool is nice. The apartments are extremely loud and dusty. The brick is constantly falling and cracking creating dust everywhere. The walls are paper thin and loud, and you CAN HEAR everything. We heard full on conversations, songs and everything including couples going at it all the time. You could hear the bed squeaking and cracking every night and it sucked. We tried complaining but nothing could be done. We could hear every movie they played. The worst part about this all was Drayton knows how bad this problem is and does hide it. We complained in writing several times and nothing ever happened. But the second we ended our lease and were trying to move out we received an email from management and specifically a lady in the leasing office asking if there was noise going on before showing the apartment to prospective renters, i.e. they made sure that no noise would be going on at the time of any showings. Thus if you are renting i recommend you politely just ask the neighbors how bad the noise is near the apartment you like. They unfortunately recently shut down their management lead fb page but previously you could join that to see the complaints.** Will update this later with screenshots of the emails.
I Drive by the place everyday and its a beautiful place to live..They are doing wonderful thing for the peoples who live there.. They keep the grounds nice and clean..🏢🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐
Ive lived here for almost 2 years, and its truly been a 3-star experience (see edit below): 5 stars for the asthetics and amenities, but 1 star for the volatility of daily living that comes from the EXTREMELY thin floors and walls. Depending on how tolerant you and your neighbors are to sound, living here can either be great or an absolute nightmare. I decided not to renew my lease a second time strictly because of the noise issues.EDIT: Originally 3 stars, but when time came to move out, I made an honest mistake and thought my move-out date was 3 days later than it was. THEY THREW AWAY THE REMAINING ITEMS IN THE UNIT WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A PHONE CALL OR ATTEMPT TO CONTACT ME (a computer, a barstool, clothes, Dyson vacuum, standing lamp, etc). The management had processed me through the system as if I had turned in my keys when I never actually did. Absolutely inexcusable.
Their leasing office is open on saturdays which was the only day we could visit as we live over an hour away and cant come during the week. I viewed these apartments online for a week or so before coming and not once did i see by appointment viewing only. We got there, waited 35 minutes on the agent. Once we were finally able to meet with her, she greeted us by what do you need in a very standoffish tone and didnt make eye contact once. we told her we wanted to talk and view a one bedroom and she asked if we had an appointment, we answered no we didnt know they required this. she interrupted and said that they only tour by appointment, of which i answered, we were from out of town and didnt know this, and started to ask if i had missed this on their website. she interrupted me again, POINTED HER FINGER AT ME like i was a child and said to let her talk and she didnt know if it was online but she would show us one apartment because we waited so nicely. This company boasts all their community amenities online and how amazing their community is because of them. This team member i kid you not, almost literally jogged to the unit, pointed out one area of the property that they were making a restaurant and didnt tell us anything about the property. She didnt show us the gym or pool, she didnt mention any amenities, parking, whats included, nothing. This was my dream apartment style and was very very excited about living here possibly. After the initial contact with the team member, i was completely turned off by the standard of customer service. You couldnt convince me to pay my hard earned money every month to a company who allows their employees to talk to prospected tenants like this. I didnt even want to ask questions because this lady totally demeaned me. We got there hours before closing hours, and there was only one customer there upon our arrival. I asked for her name and business card upon leaving and she said shed give us the card of the lady who would deal with us. what did that even mean? Im an adult working on a Doctorate degree, i dont need someone to deal with me, i need customer service if you want my business. She would not tell me her name, she just wanted me gone, all because their website did not tell prospects they REQUIRED appointments! Worst customer service i have ever experienced, will NEVER give them a dollar!
Dog-friendly, clean and responsive.
Beautiful community taking shape! Full of positive energy, good vibes and great people! Cant wait to move in!
Coming from someone that doesn’t even live here, this place is terrible. Poorly kept, loud dogs, and an unfriendly staff. Don’t move here.
Freshly moved here out of college ive been here for about a year and the team here have been such a huge help.My apartment is absolutely perfect. The windows are the best feature and the blinds that come with the apartment are high quality. The flooring is beautiful in any apartment and the feel of the complex is very homey. The team here is quick to help you with whatever you need whether it be looking into another apartment, plumbing issues, or any issue. They are quick to help and always follow up. The ammendities here are great too the washer and dryer are top notch and the kitchen appliances are very up to date. The swimming pool is always clean and the grill out area is perfecting for hosting events! Perfect location to get anywhere whether that be down town Greenville or Asheville.I love living here and you will too!EDIT. New property manager has changed my whole perspective on this place. Not friendly. Not helpful. Not understanding. DONT LIVE HERE IF YOU HAVE PETS
These are unique apartments in the Spartanburg area. You wont find anything better than these in this area. Everyone is so friendly, ammenities are excellent, and its such a beautiful area. Worth it!
Beautiful, unique lofts with tons of historic charm and character maintained. What a great transformation!
Apparently, I was not the first person who had been taken advantage of at this apartment. I had lived there for 10 months and my girlfriend and I decided on moving in together with her dog. It was 60 days before my lease ended and I was told i could transfer apartments no problem. Great I thought. After speaking to the staff about a few possibilities that is where the conversation broke down. After waiting weeks to see one apartment i was told someone came in and rented it out without even looking at it. My girlfriend and i gave our budget and square foot requirements and were told they would look into more apartments. Fast forward a few weeks they said they were still looking into it. Finally, after not receiving any options for a bigger apartment we decided to live elsewhere. I emailed the staff telling them, and they next day upon getting home from work i received a nice little letter in my door for over $1,400 of charges. After speaking to the manager about this, and how i was not helped to find another apartment she only said that it was in my contract and there was nothing they could do. I was told that it was a gamble on my part to wait it out. If they had only been upfront that it was not guaranteed that i would get another apartment i would not have renewed my lease and been charged. It is just sad they would do business this way. This apartment is not worth the money even for high ceilings that echo sound, or walls that have pieces of rock falling off and making a mess. The pool area always has people who are not residents in it, as well as grills that are not always operational. Also, they have a big problem of dog owners not picking up after their animals even after being warned. The only good thing i could say about this place is the location, however there are other apartments in the downtown area that cost the same. I was very much looking forward to living here for another year, but after being treated the way i was i hope no one else has to be taken advantage of and have their hard earned money ripped from them. I recommend anyone looking to spend over a grand on one of these apartments look at renting a house.
Drayton Mills ceases to amaze with their total and complete incompetence. Whether its broken toilets (every single one in my entire apartment, on numerous occasions), fire alarms beeping in the middle of the night that keep you awake, dysfunctional outlets, all of the power inexplicably shutting off in the middle of the night causing you to sleep through work because it turned off your alarm clock, or their poorly wired electricity that burns through any appliance you plug in (in one case literally causing it to burn and smoke), here at Drayton Mills you can have the comfort of knowing that the worthless cabal of maintenance staff wont show up to offer any help whatsoever. If they do finally show up two weeks later, consider yourself lucky if they dont just make the problem worse. In addition to all of the above stated problems, the noise is completely intolerable, and this is well-known and agreed upon by every single resident here. Meeting a new resident and need to break the ice? Just bring up the noise problems. Youll be exchanging horror stories before you know it. You cant play even moderately loud music without expecting noise complaints, you can hear all of your neighbors conversations (and vice versa), and all day long you have the luxury of kicking back and relaxing to the wonderful chime of dogs barking and howling throughout the apartment. Enjoy living in an overpriced dog pound? Search no more, Drayton Mills Pound is the place for you.Still havent slammed your computer shut and run away screaming? When the people above me (who have long since moved out) would loudly thump across the floor, chunks of brick and debris would fall from the ceiling/walls and land all over the place. Normally I would just clean it up, but I dont want to wake every neighbor within a 50 yard radius by using a vacuum, nor do I want their electricity to set it on fire. Here at Drayton Mills you can also expect to pay extra money for a trash pickup service that doesnt happen half the time, resulting in soggy, disgusting garbage bags waiting to greet you one by one as you trudge through the reeking hallways.Almost every single day, I see a large moving truck outside of the apartments. I used to shake my head and sigh, thinking that another poor sucker had been swindled into this nightmarish horror show. But over time Ive learned that my assumptions were wrong, and see that the moving van is actually being loaded WITH furniture. I can shed a tear of joy knowing that yet another prisoner of Drayton has finally finished their sentencing. You might think Im being dramatic, but rest assured all of my complaints have been echoed by nearly every other person Ive talked to, including my old neighbors (who have also escaped). Some have had even worse experiences than myself that I wont discuss here.Find another place to live. Search for new apartments, shack up with a relative for a while, maybe find a homeless man and share a cardboard box with him. Just dont come here.
Expensive and some of the people there dont pay attention to the rules of the road in Drayton. I have lived in Drayton all my life and this is the last thing I wanted to see come 8 to Drayton. Take it out!
Gorgeous wedding venue and theres a pie squared right next door.
Office staff is great, property is beautiful!
Gorgeous property, amazing units, and a great atmosphere. 5/5 would recommend!
Ive seen quite a few of these mill renovation projects and this is, hands down, the best project I have seen.
A wonderful place to live!!
Nice but really noisy. The entire apartment echoes and you can hear everyone walk down the hallway.
I would definitely not recommend Drayton Lofts. I moved in and found my icemaker, toilet and washing machine did not work in my brand new unit. Evidently, it was never detailed to make sure it was ready to be rented. Most of my clothes have been locked in a wet washing machine for 4 days. It still has not been fixed. In addition, the leasing staff is indifferent to the fact that I am paying for a washing machine that is unusable. They have lots of rules and penalties for breaking the rules. It seems they dont think that any unmet expectations of them deserve the same standards. Im sure that they are protected in the multipage lease documents that exceeded in number of pages that it takes to buy a house. It goes to show that if you are dealing with a party that does not deal in good faith then lengthy contracts wont make people act right.
Living in a part of history. How awesome!
Can’t wait to rent here read most reviews about the noise you do have to think it’s a apartment just because y’all got jobs at certain hours don’t mean the neighbors do so if noise bothers you rent a house I hate when people move into a apartment complex and expect people to be quiet whenever yes obviously very loud dramatic noise people should be considered but they have a life they live there to I work night shift so I come home late yes imma shower eat etc people think you just going to tiptoe around your place because they sleep is ridiculous grow up .
Just moved in..very unique and probably the most stylish apartments in Spartanburg.
Good location.... but inside the smell is not really good and is not really near the center of downtown
Cool looking place.... but high on price.. 1200 1 bedroom..
Historical Loft apartments make for unique living spaces.
Wow, i have never been so wrong about a review. But just a short time after giving praises, the manager, Alicia, leaves suddenly, gone & all hell broke loose. . Had a dispute over amounts owed & misplaced checks that had majicallt vleared but never credited. Shame on you Drayton Mills. I will make sure that everyone who rents there kbows that they will screw you over...
I worked there in 1976-77. When it was Drayton Cotton mill
Beautiful!! Happy to be visiting family here !
Done it up nice, but not that nice 1100 to 1800 a month. Water and trash pick up Only
Owner has unfavorable reviews deleted. As for the property..unless you are a college student (whose parents CLEARLY pay your rent)and enjoy the lifestyle and environment (e.g. noise, disregard for rules, trash, etc..) I would NOT recommend living at Drayton Mills. Weve been here 4 months and regret moving here. Its a shame that while they have done a decent job on planning and renovating the property, that they allow the unruly, disrespectful activity to continue. The Sheriff has been called twice in last 30 days to break up huge parties disrupting the entire floor of our building. Management regularly sends out erroneous and often last minute e-notices to residents about things not working, alarms going off, inspections or repairs needing to be done. We have had it and have told all of our friends (and colleagues at the major employer in the area) about our and our neighbors bad experience.
Industrial residential apartments with high speed internet.
If you like loft and pricey, thats your place
