Went today with my brother and sister n law for my 26th birthday and we had A BLAST! David is amazing…so informative and super nice. My horse was Sugarman and boy was he sweet! I picked this place specifically because of the reviews, so I hope this confirms to someone that THIS is really all that it’s made to be. We went through a lot of beautiful greenery and trees, through a creek, and to the Grapevine Lake which was beautiful! David took photos of us along the way and that was much appreciated as I wanted these memories forever :) Highly recommend.

Awesome experience for a group of five first time riders. David was very responsive once I dropped him a text for reservation and amazing in his explanation of ‘Horse communication 101’ right before the ride :)For anyone planning for a ride, here are some details that might help:- David only does one two-hour ride a day with a group of max six people- Ride is almost two hours over flat and slightly hilly terrain- helmets are available if needed- restroom is also available on request before and after the ride- only riders above 12 years of age and max weight of ~250 pounds- payment can be made after the ride with cash or credit card. I did give my credit card info at the time of reservation for the group.

Had a fantastic time doing the trail ride, it had been years since either of us had been in the saddle but David made us feel perfectly at ease. Talked us through a basic ride and told us all about the area. It was great to learn some of the history of the area around Lake Grapevine while riding through it.David was very responsive from the moment we contacted him to book, and provided easy and clear instructions on how to reach the property. Everything was ready on-time and the weather was perfect.Highly recommend David and Widowmaker Trail Rides for anyone interested in seeing some of Texas from horseback. The horses were gentle and the scenery was gorgeous. Perfect for beginners or people who have only been in a saddle a handful of times.

Wonderful Ride- Great horses, great trail out to Grapevine lake through the natural areas and David was an amazing ride leader. Highly recommend whether youre an experienced rider or have never been on a horse. (We had both on our ride and everyone had an excellent time.)

Hello Everyone! If you are ever in the Southlake Texas area be sure to book a 2 hour ride at The Widow Maker Trails. Their horses are well cared for and very clean. My husband is a novice rider and I am experienced. We both had a fantastic time. The horses followed all directions and they gave a great ride. We had an amazing time. I scheduled a trail ride to surprise my girlfriend for her birthday and she had a blast. I’ve never rode a horse before so I was a little nervous prior to the ride but after David caught me up to speed I wasn’t nervous at all and felt comfortable the whole time. We cannot wait to schedule our next ride. If your thinking about riding horses, this is the place to do it! Highly recommended, if I could give 10 stars I would.

Amazing horse riding experience

Horse back riding with David was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I wasn’t expecting to be gifted with such beauty and peace when I scheduled the trail ride. I am so grateful for the experience and ride with beautiful Dutchess (my 🐎) down the trail, into gorgeous Lake Grapevine.

David is wonderful. He is very hospitable and obviously enjoys his profession. His horses are well cared for and gentle. The trail ride from his property is excellent. I highly recommend this company. If there were 6 stars On google Widowmaker would get it!

David, the owner/trail guide was awesome and his horses are great too. He delivers a great lesson in riding to 1st time riders and refreshes those that have not ridden a horse in a few years before starting out down the trail. He stays very aware of what is occurring behind him as he leads the trail and coaches riders in a fun, friendly manner as you wind your way through woods, creeks and numerous trails.

David was helpful and a great guide. Would recommend to anyone!

We had an amazing time!! Highly recommend. We came here for our 3 year anniversary. It was exactly what we needed. David was a gracious host and an amazing tour guide. He showed us all around a beautiful countryside and the horses were beautiful, well cared for and well behaved. I will be back!!!

The trailride was a lot of fun and David shared some of the local history with us. The landscape was not all the same as we went through trees and open areas. I will be going back again.

This was so great! It was my daughters first time on a horse ever and David was wonderful giving easy to understand instructions. The trail was great too. We rode through woods, along the beach, bridges, creeks, etc... Perfect family adventure.

The trail is beyond anything I have ever seen, and it was so much fun and relaxing riding with WTR. Freckles was a very like-minded horse and I enjoyed my first real horsebacking the whole time!

David did a great job keeping us informed before arriving and all through the ride. The land out back is gorgeous with some obstacles that keep the trail interesting. Not only does he explain the basics of riding incredibly well, he taught us how to trot (which I have always struggled with)! I would recommend this ride for sure - especially because its 2 hours and you can really get into it.

Excellent trail ride. Dave was a nice guy, fantastic lead, and great communicator for whatever your level. The horses were very responsive and Dave instructed us how to communicate our commands to the horse.

David was exceptional, his horses are well behaved, healthy and well cared for. His saddles and tack are in great shape too. I have been around horses for 30+ years, so I do know a little bit about them. I would say of all the trail ride places we’ve seen, he’s one of the best. He is very knowledgable and talks to the clients in a very understandable way, explaining the thought process of a horse in a way most people can easily understand. Great customer service, enjoyable time. Highly recommend!! We will be back for another ride! Worth every penny! He even gave everyone a bottle of water and a Souvenir at the end of the ride. The horses are beautiful kept, I’ve rode many times in America and this is the best I’ve ever been on.Your made to feel so welcome and relaxed, I have my own horse back home in the U.K so I’m an experienced rider and riding out with novices was not a problem i Still had fun.This place is lovely and wonderful settings.
