I had such an amazing time here! I havent been horseback riding in years and was a little nervous but the instructors were so friendly and informative and gave some great tips. I had a slower horse but it helped me enjoy the gorgeous scenery and the trails we rode through. You can tell those who worked there love horses and love what they do. I will definitely be back :)
My friends and I really enjoyed our ride at Marshall Creek Ranch. Their customer service is excellent: we received clear and thoughtful communication. The ride itself was super fun. It lasted for almost 2 hours, including relaxing strolls as well as trotting. We were thoroughly satisfied with the experience. Would recommend Marshall Creek Ranch to anyone.
My first time horseback riding and this was truly an amazing experience. Staff was courteous and friendly... My nerves quickly calmed and they gave me the confidence to switch from a beginners ride to intermediate. Im glad I did because I had so much fun on the trail walking and trotting. I rode on Sisco and he was so much fun...very greedy and clumsy just like me. We bonded right away. The views are amazing and we just had a great time overall. We look forward to bringing the kids next time. Thank you for a wonderful experience and for taking good care of the horses!

My husband and I came here for a Sunday evening ride on Father’s Day. I love horses and was so excited for the chance to ride. Everyone here was so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having fun. The trail rides are so peaceful and relaxing through the woods and by Grapevine Lake. We saw multiple Deer, rabbits and fireflies. It is like a little piece of heaven right in the heart of the metroplex! Can’t wait to go back! Great job ladies!!
This is my second time here since I moved to Texas from Virginia. The entire staff is amazing. Both times we had Summer and Kimble as our tourist and there is not enough words to express the awesomeness, professionalism and polite customer service they provide on both experiences. This is about as good as trail rides get. Its a beautiful location with amazing horses and knowledgeable guides. If you are new to the DFW area and want to experience a trail ride, but dont know where to start, look no further.
Fantastic experience. This ranch is very accommodating to both skill level and weight limits. I weigh 260 lbs (probably 275 after this Texas trip lol) and they matched me with Thor which was a massive horse that could accommodate me perfectly. The trail into the Texas woods and out towards the lake was amazing. It was very peaceful and serene. It also didnt feel like an excursion where you are pressured to buy photos or buy things in a gift shop; it was a genuine experience. The staff was very helpful and did make sure that everyone was safe. Speaking of safety, the one thing you should be cautioned on is their strangling limited liability agreement; they do attempt to remove 100% liability of you being hurt or dying. Other than that it was totally worth the $65 per person.
If you have a love of horses, and want to trail ride through the woods, by lake Grapevine, through shallow creek crossings and some elevations that vary more than a pasture, on the biggest gentle giant Thor, or the smallest, zany Ziggy, lead by some down to earth, enthusiastic, caring, equine loving Wrangler Women, then you have found the right ranch!I’ve been on a few trail rides in my day, but this ranch has my best interest and my heart (already). Safety is number ONE, they do require helmets for the wee ones under 14, and of course extend the offer to any rider that would like to wear one. They offer different types of trail ride experiences, an hour and a half stroll for beginners or those that want to take in the experience at a nice even pace, and an hour and a half intermediate ride with quite a few opportunities to trot. Now to an advanced rider (who have different opportunities on the trail as well) and intermediate riders, this would sound pretty darn exciting. To a beginner this may sound completely terrifying. Luckily they have around 30 horses and quite a few wranglers to personalize your experience to suit you best! I was even on a ride recently, where we split up in order to give everyone the best experience possible. It was an exhilarating, last evening ride of the season, in the light of the almost full moon, where we saw coyotes, deer, lightening bugs, great stories, and plenty of laughter that I will never forget!Huge shout-outs! To the top Trail Boss Lady Shandra, who not only genuinely loves what she does (and who wouldn’t???) but truly serves those who come to her ranch to ride and love on her equine babies! I can’t thank you enough for having this beautiful ranch and all your beautiful babies (equine and human varieties) to help, lead, and create such memorable lifetime experiences! To Sumere for putting up with my crazy phone, she has the patience of an angel going through all the horses to find the right one for me! To Katie for her amazing leadership, knowledge, and great stories on the trails. To Avery, Sam, and Kaitlyn, you are all so entertaining and so very equine knowledgeable, you have all helped and educated me through humor, sass, and sweetness! To Gunsmoke, Stetson, Honcho, Bullseye, and Cherokee I loved riding ALL of you boys and can’t wait to ride more of your buddies.Make plans to visit Marshall Creek Ranch, and you better hurry! Such an amazing Horse riding place! The camps are so much fun, especially in the Texas summer heat. The staff and wranglers are so kind and fun and want to include everyone!! BEST trail ride I’ve ever been on. Go to this place if you’re looking for a great trail ride experience. They were organized, horses were very well trained, the team lead had great communication during the trail ride (we did the intermediate level ride) and was educational. Trotting was intermittent and my first time without being totally terrified! With the instruction I was able to keep up just fine. We will definitely be going back!
My Wife and I had a great time! We went for our 9 year anniversary and the staff were very friendly and professional and made the ride fun. The horses were experienced and obeyed well and we never felt in danger or like our safety was at risk. The horses looked well cared for and I would recommend anyone wanting to ride to check our Marshall Creek Ranch because youll have a blast! We will definitely be back!
Nichole was an amazing trail guide. We brought 3 generations of ladies out for an intermediate ride and had the best time! She was wonderful to go on the trail with, and was able to relate to all of us. Now to book another ride with my coworkers so they can have just a much fun!
Great ranch. Get there and enjoy real horses, even if you are a newbie. Its been 30 years since Ive ridden a real horse. Great to get out and ride again... Something other than state park pack mules camouflaged as horses that dont even rein because they are trail broke. Not at Marshall... Enjoy a great outdoor experience.

I went on a trail ride with my mother, grandmother, and our guide Nicole. Loved the scenery, and thoroughly enjoyed riding Freckles. Such an amazing and beautiful horse. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Hope to come back soon!
Excellent experience. Wonderful horses. Very pleasant and fun people. Although we did not book a birthday party, just a trail ride, they acknowledged my daughters birthday and let her choose a horse (she was very happy about it and loved the horse she chose). My family could not stop talking about their trip for the whole day. Everyone loved it and felt they need to do it more often. Our 8 y.o. who had never been on the trail before said that his rating is all 5 stars. :-)
Ive been to a few horse riding places, and they overcharge for what they are. However at Marshall Creek Ranch, its a great price for a beautiful ride next to the lake. No place Ive seen or read reviews for even comes close to the experience of this place. I know Southlake might be a little bit of a drive for some of you, but if youre adamant about riding horses on a real trail and having a great experience, this is the place to go!

Had a wonderful ride today with Summer and Julie- we were with the intermediate level group and there was plenty of trotting to keep it exciting, yet was controlled so we felt safe. Highly recommend!!
This place was great. I took my 3 and 8 year olds on a ride in June 2019. The staff was great and did a good job helping us get comfortable and explaining how to handle the horses. They had beautiful horses and the trails were awesome. Along lake Grapevine the views were scenic and we saw deer, hogs and even had a skunk. My horse spooked the skunk but luckily the spray didn’t get me! My kids loved it. My 3 year old got to ride with a staff member and had a blast. After it was over they took group pictures for us. Price was reasonable. This was the highlight of our summer vacation to the Dallas-Ft Worth area!
My dad, sister, and I traveled to Texas to celebrate my sister and Is graduations. Every step of the way Shandra made planning so easy for us. She always answered the phone, even on horseback, and if she didnt was very quick to call back. I was very bummed when I got the call that we were rained out on our original date, but Shandra called with enough of a heads-up we didnt make the unnecessary drive. She was very accommodating and patient with us as we tried to figure out how to rework our plans and make the ride work! We finally got out on Monday and had an absolutely gorgeous day. Our trail guide was Kelsey who was a wonderful young lady with a great personality. We had other handlers on our ride, Dee and Gene, from what I can tell were outstanding as well (but I was near the front so mainly heard only Kelsey). We were paired with 2 young gals in our group that had never ridden before. The handlers were very encouraging and made us all feel comfortable. After a few areas where we trotted, the other 2 girls wanted to walk and not trot. Because we had 3 handlers on the trail ride, we were able to split off and those that wanted to trot could and those who wanted to walk could, making everyone happy! The horses were very tame yet still had personalities, and the trails were kept very nice. Overall we had an absolute blast and visiting Marshall Creek Ranch was the highlight of our trip around Texas!!! We didnt start our trip off on the trails but ending it may have even been better!!! Would highly recommend!! From the staff, to the location, to the trails and horses, all around a phenomenal experience. (they are even mailing back the sweatshirt I left there all the way to Jersey!) Absolutely nothing to complain about =]
Brought my husband for his birthday and we had a blast. All the horses are very well taken care of and absolutely just stunning. You can tell the staff really cares for their horses. The trail ride was really pretty especially by the lake. I highly recommend Marsh Creek and will return with our children.

Took wife horseback riding for her first time and it was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend 1.5 hour ride, yes you will be sore...I had Thor and didn’t have to do a thing except sit back and let the big guy do his thing. Wife had Uno and he did great for her.Yes, tip your guide; they deserve it!
I visited Marshall Creek Ranch while on a business trip with my three business partners and our wives. We had a variety of levels of experience among the riders and all had a great time! I was particularly impressed with the care they took to make sure everyone was comfortable and fitted to a horse that would lend them a good experience. We lucked out and had a cloud-covered ride on a September morning that could have been super-hot! The trails are gorgeous winding through the trees with nice lake views. We didnt happen upon much wildlife, but did see a wild pig--which apparently is unusual during the day.We bought out the entire ride so it could be just us. They sent three wranglers with us, which felt great. It provided someone within ear shot of each of our riders if there were questions or concerns--or just to chat. I would highly recommend Marshall Creek Ranch!
Went here on a date with my girlfriend. It was her first time rising a horse so the instruction and beginner trail ride was perfect. We didnt get to ride fast on the horses but that may have been a good thing since it takes training. Id reccomend going on a day when its not super hot though, only about half the trail is shaded. Lovely time and good memories.
The staff is amazing! They are kind, helpful, and friendly. Horses are all great. Did the Christmas light ride and it was a great time. The staff kept our group together. The fire and hot chocolate was perfect when we finished.

Just visited on 05/24 and had such a great time!The instructors and guides are so friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They know the personality of each horse and do their best to pair you with the one that will suit you. During the tour, you’ll learn cool facts about the terrain and get to witness beautiful scenery. My time here was balanced with learning new information and feeling like a relaxing getaway. I will definitely be coming back!

Great experience!*booking - booking was easy and they were very informative. They answered all my questions*arrival- once we arrived we were able to find the office very easily.*choosing of horse (accommodating)- Our instructor and Leader, Summer, had 14 years of experienced riding horses and well knowledgeable of our horse riding trail. Our group varied from experienced and non-experienced riders and Summer made sure to let us know what to do before our ride. The trail ride was peaceful, the scenery beautiful and we had places that where a bit challenging, but very fun!I would definitely recommend and go again!

Shondra made our proposal experience SO special! She planned it out with my fiancee to a T, and set up a lovely picnic for us on the beautiful lakefront. FALSE ADVERTISING!! I was all excited to ride a draft. The lady then told me I was too short. I wouldnt be able to get my leg over. What?! A draft is what I was trained on, she didnt care. So disappointed!!
We wanted a special kind of adventure, so we decided horseback riding. I searched other options and read many reviews. This one was more appealing. I’m glad we chose Marshall Creek Ranch. The experience begins from the moment you arrive. Every single one of the staff were courteous, helpful and friendly. Even the horse were great! Katie was an excellent guide and Anika was super, making sure to keep a close eye for safety from the back. Everything was well organized and seamless. The tour was pleasant, and somewhat scenic. My horse Cherokee and my husband’s horse Uno are said to be BFF. They sure acted like it.If you are looking for a day’s adventure with a pleasant experience, don’t hesitate to call and reserve your time. We will definitely do this again. 🐎

I’ve been to Marshall Creek several times and it’s always been great. They do a great job with young kids, too. My daughter was 9 when she first rode and the horse and handlers were fantastic. The scenery can be beautiful or dull, depending on what time of year you ride, but it’s the best views of Lake Grapevine regardless. If you’re big enough, ask for their draft horse - he’s enormous and gentle. I suggest springtime earlier in the day before it gets too hot.

The whole experience was absolutely amazing. We had a large party 4 kids 4 adults some plus sized . Never had a single problem. The wranglers were all kind and knowledgeable and the horses were so beautiful and well behaved. My daughter will be talking about it forever.
My husband and I visited Marshall Creek Ranch while on vacation in Texas. We chose them because they had a selection of bigger horses for my very tall husband. Our guide, Haley and co-guide, Juliana were absolutely wonderful. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. We were able to hang out with our beautiful horses after the ride and give them snacks before we left. Thor and Dallas, our horses were gentle and friendly. My husband loved Thor. We are coming back to Dallas in two years and will definitely be visiting the folks at Marshall Creek Ranch. I highly recommend this amazing horse Ranch to everyone!I have also read a few reviews that have not been happy experiences. Some mention the very young staff working here. Most of these girls have been on a horse or worked with horses most of their young lives and are very knowledgeable about all the horses that are at the ranch. I felt very confident that our guide knew exactly what she was doing.We will be stopping by again when we are in the area.
I have taken my 2 daughters here for summer camp and they love it. The staff is always respectful and caring. The trail rides are awesome too. The only problem with the ranch is that the camps are too short and fill up fast but that just shows you how awesome it is. My kids wish they could spend more time with the horses.
Was in town visiting my daughter for Easter and we had scheduled a trail ride as part of our weekend. It turned out to be a fantastic decision. We had so much fun!! The staff was very friendly and the horses were sweet and gentle. I definitely hope to make this part of my agenda when I come back to visit. 5 stars all the way!!!

This was so worth it! We really enjoyed Regan and Rachel on our ride. They were our guides and let us know about several things about horses. The woods were beautiful and the lake was gorgeous! Eveything was absolutely perfect and I would love to come back out again. Dallas was my horse and he was the absolute best. He was like me. Loves to eat and wants to move faster. I love it and I already miss him!

Ive been to many different trail riding places across the country, and Ive seen some pretty terrible ones. However, Marshall Creek was amazing! Their horses were in excellent shape and well muscled (not underweight, covered in mud, and packed in a corrals with dozens of other horses) and provided individual paddocks. Their coats and hooves showed they were well fed and groomed. As it was the off season, there were only 3 riders in the group plus our guide, Katie. She was awesome telling us stories of passed rides, the history behind some of her favorite horses, and easily navigating us around. My favorite part about Marshall Creek ranch was the options provided. There are beginner, intermediate, and advanced trail riding options. They will not allow first time riders on the advanced ride until they complete the intermediate, and they know you can handle a horse. As a trained rider in my youth, having the option to not just walk in a straight line the whole time but trot, cross creeks, and climb hills was wonderful!! It was well worth the money for an hour and a half spent on a horse! I cant say enough good things and will definitely be coming back! Thank you Katie for an amazing and relaxing experience!!!

This Ranch is awesome to go horseback riding. The instructors are great. The horses are well trained. Their prices are good. We went on a 1 1/2hr ride. We are definitely going back and would recommend this Marshall Creek Ranch.

Came down to Texas from Maryland for the weekend. This ranch is AMAZING! The horses were well mannered and the people working here were so polite and helpful. They tailored our ride to fit our abilities perfectly. It wasnt just a walk on a trail it was a wonderful afternoon spent in peaceful surroundings with some adventurous trotting and even jumping with my husbands horse. ( His horse wasnt a fan of water) I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an awesome ride with great people. Our group was small (3 people) and our guide was so pleasant! He even stopped to find us a great photo spot and took our pictures! If I ever come back to Texas I will definitely be coming to this Ranch again!!
My daughter went as part of a birthday party. The woman behind the desk who checked us in and took our paperwork did not tell us what was happening and left us standing off to the side waiting while she waited on other people as they came in. When we inquired as to what was supposed to happen, she was very abrupt and clearly bothered by our questions. Heres hoping that the rest of the staff was a bit more professional.Update: The 3:30 ride that my daughter was on, led by a young man, (possibly Wyatt), not a 12:30 ride led by the owner, was quite good according to my daughter. The response that I received from the owner, though Im not sure which party she is referring to, tells me that mine wasnt the only issue that day. Given that she blasted me for a different partys issue instead of trying to ask for more specifics makes me feel perfectly justified in giving a one star review.

Both my wife and I had an awesome and wonderful experience at this place. One of the wranglers, Deanna, led us through the 1.5 hour trail, crossing creeks and along the Lake Grapevine. Deanna taught us how to trot for the first time. She was very patient and enjoyed every minute of the trail herself! So did we! Would absolutely recommend anyone in the DFW area who is looking for a horseback riding experience to this place!!

Very nice horseback riding trail. The trail goes through the woods and by the lake. The riders can view some wild life on the trail. The evening trail is probably better than the morning trail. You get to enjoy the sunset and cool summer breeze.The staff was very friendly and professional. Haley, Sumere, Mina, Avery, Jessi, and Sam well-instructed every rider. They gave safety top priority. I was amazed that all the staff was young but showed tremendous maturity in guiding and leading the group. They had patience for handling the trail tour. There was a mix-up with my booking but they were able to solve the issue quite easily.Overall, my friends and I had an amazing experience. We will definitely go back to this place for more rides. I hope I get the same staff on the next visit. Thank you Haley, Sumere, Mina, Avery, Jessi, and Sam for amazing visit.
My granddaughter just completed one week of summer camp at Marshall Creek Ranch. All I can say is it was a FABULOUS experience for her in every way. The staff is kind, organized, and extremely knowledgeable. The activities teach the campers everything from horse safety to grooming. Wranglers (counselors) are always close by to assist in every way. We are already discussing another trip to the ranch to enjoy the MCR experience.

The staff was awesome. Horses were calm and friendly. My 9 year old granddaughter thought the trail ride was wonderful. Two of my other grandkids rode with a staff member and also had a great time.Im hoping they update the party room to match the registration room.
The ladies did a great job of matching riders to horses. The trail ride had lots of variety, so it was not boring. We would ride here again if we are in the area.

Pretty standard beginner trail ride but what really impressed me was how they took all the time they needed to fit my daughters stirrups. Shes 8, with very short legs and small feet...they worked on her stirrups for about ten minutes or more, changing them out until they fit her perfectly.When DDs horse decided to stop and snack and she accidentally let out the reins too much, our guide (Christina, I think) handled it well and showed her how to get her reins tightened back up. She also took my chatterbox in stride and answered all of her questions.
