Called to make appt with Alix. Called from car and told to come in and Sign into tablet. Alix would be ready for me. She was...ALL protocols followed with hand sanitizer & masks required. Arrows to follow for traffic flow and petitions between wash stations & hairstylists looked to be 6 feet high. I felt like I had made new friend as this was my first visit to a hairstylist in over 3 years.Alix actually discussed my hair, my preferences, and such. I am low maintenance with my hair. I think she did a great job going through my hair determining what was best shampoo and conditioner and other products based upon what I like or dont like... I did purchase a shine product. Erica knows how to do curly/coarse/biracial hair. If you have the same type of hair as me, I recommend you see Erica. She will give you a good cut and she knows how to properly blow it out without it breaking, looking poofy, or taking forever.

I stopped by here to get a haircut from Alix. It was a very good haircut indeed. Climb the stairs to the second floor and enter a world of excitement and whimsy around every corner. Get your hair washed, cut, coloured, shaved, whatever. It’s all avaliable here. Reasonable prices too. I will be coming back.

I’m a very particular guy as to who cuts my hair & where I go to get it done. I’m 45yrs old Ashley is only the 3rd person in my lifetime to cut my hair. Unless she retires This is where I’ll be. Great place vibrant atmosphere. Lots of smiles & laughter. In today’s world we need that.

Gineann did my lashes this past weekend and they are amazing! She uses great quality lashes and she gets them done super quickly. I highly recommend going to her for lash extensions!

The stylist had very efficient and to the point and understood what I need in hair cut. Most times many stylist I have do not understand type of hair cut I want. I like one with out having work on putting product in the hair in morning. So I generally say give hair cut like FDR or TR, if you dont get what referring to that ok, because I am referring to Presidents.

I swear Ive been looking for this salon my whole life. Ashley is a creative hair genius and I have so much fun asking her to just have fun with my hair! She always comes up with things that are so much more fun and interesting than I ever could have myself.Such a fun atmosphere, every single person here is always friendly and professional and welcoming. And the doggies are an excellent welcome party too!

This place is the best. Not only does Ashley cut my hair perfectly every time but her staff is extremely friendly the salon itself is super chill and cozy to be at. I used to get my hair cut basically once a year but since Ive been going to Ashley I am going regularly and using much better products. I love supporting local businesses run by real people who genuinely love what they do. This place rocks.

This place is the best! I have been going to Ashly for years now and I’ve never loved my hair until Ashly worked her magic. Trust her; she’s a pro! The entire staff is ridiculously talented. Ive had cuts all over the country and nothing ever can compare to SYS.

Had a wonderful first time experience here today. Ashley spoke to me at length before the visit to help me with all the questions I had. The staff was welcoming and so friendly. I had a great haircut. What made me most happy is that Gregg did a great job with my 5 year olds hair. She wanted pink highlights and they turned out amazing. He is also a natural with kids which made her really comfortable and excited to be in the salon. Will definitely be going back!

This was my first time here and I loved it !! Gregg did my hair, filled in some highlights and did a shadow root and somewhat of a color correction and hair cut. But he went above and beyond! He did a lot of work and I have really long and thick hair and he helped to make my hair color look natural and healthy. Hes been working there since April and although new he was fantastic. I cant say enough great things about him. Not to mention hes the best Foyer Sweeper. ;) Theyre all super friendly and hospitable, offering you a beverage when you walk in, jelly beans and lollipops near the entry way and coffee/tea etc. The salon itself has an awesome laid back atmosphere, rockabilly/West Coast/Tattoo parlor-ish kind of feel but so so fun! Ashley has Star Wars trinkets and not to mention TWO puppies in the salon. I guess if youre not a dog person you wont like that but they are sweet and friendly especially when youre sitting waiting for your hair to set :) THANK YOU I am so happy I found them. Way better than Adam Broderick and a more welcoming atmosphere that is not far from home for me. Hard to find a great salon in the area and THIS IS IT!!

For years I searched for a salon that could give me the platinum blonde hair that I always wanted. Great salon in Southbury!!!!!!! Not what you would typically expect here in Southbury, but what a welcomed change. Great, knowledgable staff who make you feel welcome and comfortable, not out of place, even if you are there for the first time. Nice vibe, excellent service and a great cut at a reasonable price. This place has nitro coffee on tap from one of the most savage companies I’ve ever come across. I’ve been yelled at multiple times to not lean my head back from under the tap and drink from it. It has adorable dogs that greet me as I walk in. It has free candy. Most importantly it has the best quality haircuts I’ve ever gotten. DO I NEED TO CONTINUE?! These people could move to Ohio and I would catch a flight there once a month to get my damn haircut by them. I’ve gone months, MONTHS without getting my haircut because I wasn’t able to get an appointment. You think I’m lying? It was horrible. And by horrible I mean it was horrible that I don’t trust anyone else to cut my hair. There’s a reason this place is so popular and booked months out, and it’s for all the things I said earlier.

My husband and I randomly stumbled upon Save Your Scissors at the old location on Stony Hill in Bethel looking for beard oil. After years of looking like Chewbacca my husband decided it was time for a real haircut and Ashley did a great job. So great that he stayed with her as his barber until we moved to Maine last September. She truly loves what she does and the loves the community she works and lives in. We will be coming to CT in a few weeks so she can give our son his first official haircut. She has become a friend and is an amazing barber!

I’ve been going to her for 4 years now and don’t let anyone else touch my hair; except once...and I immediately regretted it. Being bicoastal it’s pretty upsetting that I can’t just clone her when I’m in LA.Her dedication to her craft and training her staff as well as through workshopping with others across the country is why she’s such a dynamo and resource for her clients.

Awesome salon, with really amazing personable staff. I sent my mother there a couple of years ago for Ashley to do a color correction on her gray hair. My mother came back looking amazing and hasn’t had to redo her hair since. Her grays grew in matching the dye and has looked amazing since.I have been following the salon on IG for sometime now and finally took my butt in this past weekend.I had Daphne as my stylist. I went in for a whole single color dye job and a Brazilian blowout. I’m so happy with my results. My hair is super smooth and shiny. Love the whole color.Daphne was super cool to chat with. And made the time fly by while being there. I’m usually not one to chat it up when I get my hair done, but she made it so easy to chat with her about so much, which really made the time go by so fast, and made it fun. I will definitely be coming back and have told everyone I know to check out the salon.I love the atmosphere in the salon and the decor. It’s not your typical salon. Super funky and love that it’s not your typical stuffy salon. Was hoping to see Ashley’s dogs while I was there, but they weren’t there. That would be my only complaint. Lol!!Want awesome work with a whole crew that knows their stuff and cares about your hair, and good conversation....go to this salon!!!!!!
