This was our familys first visit to the South Jordan rec center and it was awesome! We all just loved the indoor swimming pool! It has a wonderful water slide, the longest lazy river Ive ever seen, which includes a circular whirlpool area in the middle of it, a fun childrens play area with a zero-entry, and it was big enough to not feel crowded. Three family bathroom/changing rooms were convenient, although they needed much better ventilation, as they smelled strongly of urine. The womens dressing room, which includes bathrooms and showers, was nice and clean and felt ventilated and smelled good, so overall it was wonderful. We cant wait to go back!

I have only explored the pool - which is an amazing spot to take kids. A lazy river, whirlpool, full on in-pool playground and a massive slide, it’s great for play and fun for all ages. There are a couple of lap lanes that are usually open and available. The rest of the fitness center seems great as well, clean and well equipped. Highly recommend.

The lifeguards were very demeaning when telling others what to do. The lifeguard named Sid made it completely unenjoyable, she yelled at my 2 year old as if a 2 year old understands what’s being said. The lifeguards ruined it. I’ll be going to a different aquatic center from now on.

My kids like the pool, but it’s pretty cold. They start shivering within about 10 minutes. Plus, for some reason the exterior doors in the pool area are always open, which is next to the splash equipment that the kids play on. I will stop bringing them in the winter and maybe try again in the summer, when the cold air and water combination maybe won’t be so miserable.

Great place when my girls played soccer, but an incident back in September made me question their staff and rules. My girls are in elementary and we needed to film a dance routine for the schools reflections contest ( approx 3min long). I stopped by asking if we could use a corner of one of the gyms or open spaces. They said no, not without reserving one of the gyms or studios in advance. There was no one there. I then said, it’s a school assignment and we only need to record approx 3min of a dance routine. They wouldn’t let us. I paid for an hour to reserve a gym that was vacant for a 5-10 min school assignment. There were 3 staff members and not one of them saw the value of allowing a local resident utilitize the facility for a school assignment and not even interfering with any others scheduled or anything else going on. Clearly it was a power move or a rule that needs a decision maker to adjust for good cause. As a south Jordan resident of 8-9 years, I was disappointed. Also we need a lap pool for the city. Swim teams and lap swimmers have to go elsewhere outside of South Jordan to accommodate.

This is a pretty simple and friendly place to get your exercise in. I dont like gyms like VASA or Planet Fitness because its full of an intimidating crowd that can make it difficult to just focus on your own workout. Thats just my personal opinion.Im a young guy and this place caters to a mostly older crowd which is much more comfortable for me. Theyre friendly and if youre lucky enough to make some friends, youll hear some great stories. The staff have been extremely friendly so far and Ive ended up taking a leap and getting a month to month pass. Its cheap and and affordable.100% reccomend choosing this place

First time going to the gym in a long time. Did not have to compete with anyone for equipment, although the workout area is a little small. At some point, I had the place all to myself with my son and one other person. Turns out the other person was cleaning up and he let us know the center had closed at 8pm. Wish they opened until later but I might have been sore if they did. Ha ha

Stay away! Not for those who are serious about fitness. It is a dirty and greasy facility. Poor Management. This place had potential but they let it go down hill. The weight room doesnt have machines worth using. The free weights are falling apart and you can never find a match. None of the treadmills actually work. Uncaring staff, stay away, dont waist your time and money.

My family and I have used this facility for about 4 years. The staff are not always friendly, in person or over the phone. They are usually short with you and seem annoyed if you have a question. Today, the lifeguards were yelling at the children in the pool - the children they were yelling at were breaking rules, however the overly harsh yelling did not seem necessary. They have a toddler area in the pool, a large water slide, and a baby section that are NEVER turned on or in working condition. The toddler/small child area allows the kids to go on smaller water slides but with no water running down them. The really large water slide has never been turned on and we swim here a lot. There are only two family swim bathrooms, which for such a busy family center It would be nice to have more family bathrooms. The facility is clean and is busy on Saturdays and holidays. But not too busy that we can’t use any area. Today (Monday, Martin Luther King day) we were able to use the indoor soccer field with no wait.

If you have a potty trained toddler I’d lie and say they were three years old.

We have only been here a couple of months but so far I like the facility but it is always packed. I like to warm up by shooting some hoops, I have never had a chance because there is always a million kids, so much that I cant even shoot once without running into 3 small uncontrolled children EVERY DAY ALL DAY. Then I go work out, isnt super busy very often but they are limited on machines. The pool is overrun by kids and families at all times. So if youre a family with kids it seems to be a great place, if youre looking for a consistent quiet place to work out I would go elsewhere.

I will start with Pro: it is a REALLY nice facility, always looks very clean and sanitary. My con and my reason for 2 stars, is their staff isnt knowledgeable and there customer service isnt great. There swimming lessons for children are horrible. My experience that makes me feel that way: I signed my daughter up for the very lowest level swim class, for kids that are scared of water, or wont dunk their heads. My daughter lives water, but doesnt like to get her face wet. I feel like the teacher was irritated with her, and showed it pretty openly. I also felt that the expectation of the kids in the class was way to high. I worked tirelessly with my daughter on non class nights for extra help, and then in the last two classes the teacher wanted them to dive under water and grab a toy by pushing them under. My daughter was terrified and now will not go in the water at all, so we are worse off then we started. My husband and I both sent emails of concern to the director, and its been two months with no reply. I guess I shouldnt have expected top notch training, but I feel like the teachers are high school students with no training.

I have noticed a certain pattern in these reviews and I wanted to set a couple things straight:1. THIS IS A FAMILY FACILITY!! Obviously there are going to be a lot of kids since this is Utah. If you want to be left alone, go to Vasa.2. The people at the front desk are not miracle workers. They are people that are trying their best so treat them with respect.3. They cannot control when they are busy so dont yell at them if the basketball or soccer turf is crowded.4. TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN KIDS!! The lifeguards and managers are not babysitters. I have been going here for years and I cant tell you how many times I have seen parents yell at the lifeguards and managers for just doing their jobs, while the parents are on their phones the entire time and not paying attention to their kids.
