Craig Lovings the manager at this U-Haul was very nice & friendly.We had a discrepancy with my charges but after waiting quite some time for my credit to go back on my card.Craig just took care of things on his end, verse making me wait longer for corporate to take care of it. Everything was made right by Craig and I would recommend him to others.
I waited 40 minutes in line this morning only be told by an incredibly RUDE and condescending Mr. Lovings that our truck was unavailable, it had not yet been dropped off by the previous customer AND there were two additional reservations for that same truck (my truck). I asked if it had occurred to him to possibly call me and let me know the truck was unavailable instead of wasting my time driving over there and standing in line for 40 minutes; he told me they dont do that kinda threw a fit. He was not handling himself well at all. I then asked if the truck HAD been available, who would it have gone to? He said whoever got here first. Are you kidding me? I was floored but asked him what he DID have available. He said he had NOTHING, even though he offered the guy ahead of me in line a truck and that gentlemen declined it. [His reservation was messed up, too]. The parking lot was also filled with trucks of all sizes. Mr. Lovings was being rude & condescending to him as well. It was the worst customer service experience Ive had to date. Not once did he apologize, express empathy, nothing. His attitude was straight up Im having a bad day and Im going to punish you for it. That was it. No truck. It was just like, Bye, sorry about your luck.
Excellent customer service!Roadside Assistance was needed on my 200mi travel. Not only was I able to through to someone immediately but the agent was very helpful and thorough.In pickup, the gentleman was polite and answered all of my questions before I had a chance to ask.In returning to Uhaul on Western - BEST customer service! A woman named Kim helped me check the truck back in. She was professional, kind, educated me in the offers and services U-Haul had for my future needs and a true humanitarian. Incredible experience I’ll never forget.
On Friday Aug 6th I picked up a trailer ERIC was the young gentleman who waited on me. He did a great job opened at 7 am straightened out the reservation, showed me what I needed to do to get the paperwork completed, Hooked up the trailer and had me on my way. With out a doubt the best customer service rep. I have ever worked with at a U-Haul location.
Drove from LaPorte...was NOT disappointed! Great selection of packing supplies and trucks. The power was out in the building and the manager was still helping customers and conducting business. Dont bother with the LaPorte locations. THIS LOCATION IS WORTH THE DRIVE!!
My husband took the day off work to go down there (an hour and a half away) and get a trailer hitch put on. He made a 1pm appointment. They didn’t even see him till 1:30 and then they didn’t have the part they needed to do what he made the appointment for. What a complete waste of time, energy and money. What kind of customer service is that?!?
The worst service had a 9 o’clock reservation . was told i computor at this location down ..u can not pick up your van .. and then carl began king to treat me and my wife like we were the problem stay far far away if u want good service
Craig Lovings did a great job with helping during our time of crisis. His customer service was excellent and his attitude was great and very knowledgeable!! He’s a huge asset to uhaul! Can’t thank him enough!! Above and beyond! Thank you!
Employees were so so kind! I’m a first time mover and they gave me so many helpful tips, they made my move so much easier and took a lot of stress off my shoulders. I felt that they were genuinely happy to help, I would definitely come back :)
Had a 3 day rental reservation for a cargo van- confirmed the reservation the day prior to pick up.Was told at pickup that it was “this stores policy” only to rent cargo vans for 24 hours. So while standing at the counter with the actual 3 day reservation in my hand, I was turned away. This place stinks- rent from someone else.
Kimberly was an angel. She had my van started and ready to go before I even got there. She was very sweet. I can tell she looks out for her customers. Shes the kind of person I want on my team when Im going through all the stress of moving.
I have been calling for weeks now and emailing the owner and no response. Do not do business here.
I just wanted to say that Tiffany The lady that was working with us today was very very sweet and very very helpful we forgot to pay closer attention to the sign about having one person in the store at a time in which she was very patient and polite about that situation but also made sure to get what we needed and went above and beyond in my opinion, the world could use more people like her way to go Tiffany it was a pleasure being helped by you today. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!! So difficult to work with. Have wasted so much time trying to access my Ubox container that may or may not be there anymore even though I pay $85/month.
I dont know who the other customers reviewing here met, but I was genuinely impressed with how friendly and helpful the manager was! She went out of her way to make sure that we were very much taken care of. If you want some nameless corporate drone to give you a truck and screw you over with a high price, by all means choose another service. If you dont mind some personality in the employees, want a very clean truck, and a good price, you should rent with THIS UHaul location.
The lady that was working there named Tiffany was tremendously helpful and went above and beyond to try to help us. The owners should give her a raise! Its hard to find people like that nowadays.
From the first call to ask a question to dropping off the truck....Pure rudeness from all three of the employees I interacted with.The Call:Called and asked how a day works... The employee answered while talking to a another person never asked me to hold and then said what cha need... Asked if 12 hours or 24 changed the price... And rudely said it might be a little different... Just cant express how rudely this was done here...The pickup:No customers there but also no parking...Was told I need to park in the street as I was blocking the exit...Alley had huge hole that I wouldnt put my work truck through...Was told that I cannot pickup online and would need to go inside...Went inside and the employee I assume I talked to on the phone was sweeping the showroom and I had to wait until she finished before she offered even a hello...Tried charging me double the online price...Picking up the truck:No walk around inspection... Gave me a dirty look when I wanted to at least open the back as he wanted the spot cleared fast... Showed me a tow haul button... Again... No way to express disgust here...The Truck:Wow... Ive driven farm trucks that smelled better...The blankets didnt have a seal...Nothing worked good...Lights on the dash (check engine and airbag)The drop-off:Pulled up to the drop off and no body came out yet the sign states stay with the vehicle... Or go online...Start the online... Go park the truck... And the lady comes out stating I cant park it here and I have to move it and come inside....Well I finished my online drop-off and left it parked where it was... I am so sick of uhaul... Just use a different rental truck service...
Chris was there at around 7am for me to return truck, no problem there. He is very nice and as helpful as he could have been . He called me we got disconnected and he didnt call back (to my knowledge) and I cant get ahold of the shop directly. He did some leg work on how to get my money back after having to pay out of pocket for my truck rental instead of my vip code working. Need this resolved. Money needs to be returned.
Repeatedly refuses to fill my propane tanks. The person working is never “qualified” and the person that has to come to fill it never shows up. Don’t waste your time with this garbage business.
Very poor customer service by telephone. Same person on Monday 11/9/20 kept putting my call on hold for 20-30 minutes at a time (I called 3 times) before disconnecting the call and never resolved my issue.
I thought Kimberly was exceptional. Very thorough and determined to help us find something they that would work for us. They went above and beyond helping us hook up the trailer and helping with the lights on our vehicle (which isnt their problem!) and this was even after closing! I cant say enough good things about our experience there! Thank you!
Drove from the East side of Mishawaka to here to get a 30 pound propane tank filled. Called ahead, No problem. We have 515 gallons!. Get to the store and We dont pump on Sunday.
We had got there at 3:59 pm on Christmas Eve. We should have secured our truck earlier that day to avoid the late arrival. They were to close at 4:00 pm and they were down to one agent that night. She allowed us to rent the truck. We are truly grateful and I will be more cognizant of time, so that I do not affect other peoples time. Thanks to her kindness we were able to move on Christmas Eve. I will continue to frequent this establishment just because she gave her time to make sure we got a truck. Thanks again to U-Haul Moving & Storage of South Bend!
Been there twice this month and before. They were business fast but still friendly. Helped me change my reservation to save money. Definitely will return.Now three times and still amazing. I cant believe I like a rental place.
We were in South Bend to make a delivery with our car & personal trailer and found that all of a sudden our lights on the trailer were not working. It was 8:00 in the morning and we were heading back to Nashville, Tennessee. We found U-haul Moving & Storage of South Bend on the U-haul website and found that they installed and repaired trailer hitches. It was Saturday so their service technician wasnt there but Stacy the General Manager was. She tested our wiring and tried everything she could to help us out, all of this in between a steady flow of customers. We eventually narrowed it down to a blown fuse which she had in stock and our lights worked beautifully and we were on our way. She would not accept any payment for her efforts even though she had gone above and beyond. If you have any need for moving vehicles or supplies I would highly recommend UHaul Moving & Storage of South Bend.
Rented a truck at 4pm. Returned at 7:05 pm. Had rented till 8 pm. They closed at 7:00.Female stated they were closed but door was unlocked. Told me put key in box outside and check truck in online or it be 20.00 more next day. She didnt tell me you have to be at uhaul location to check it in online. After i got home i tried to check it in. They charge me 20.00 more next day.
Kim was super helpful when I went to pick up my moving truck for a small, cross town move. When she checked my reservation, Uhaul online had over charged me (well over $100) for a one way truck when I actually just needed one of those 19.95 same day trucks. She made sure to fix the problem and took great care of me, making sure I walked out of there content and smiling. Kim is such an asset to that store! She knows what customer service is about and she is genuinely invested in her customers happiness. I was able to be moved out that same night and back to drop off the truck, just how I wanted to.
I had unbelievably good service from everyone at this U haul - very communicative, friendly and accommodating. The gentleman working in the back even helped us unload our truck and organize things in the storage unit! Totally above and beyond service.
Staff was very friendly, but organization and parking is terrible. I had a rental set up for Sunday at 9:00am for a full 8 hours and was cut short and still charged full. Both employees and the supervisor showed up to the store late with several customers awaiting their 9:00 am promise. The parking lot was a mess and the supervisor told everyone it will take a while for them to move the trucks around. at 10:15 we finally received our keys and went on our way. If i may help, have at least two employees to the store 30 minutes before opening and make sure they are on time. Bottom line, rent a moving truck elsewhere.
Dealing with Kimberly Logan is what nightmares are made of - horrible experience, never been treated so badly. The most ignorant, loud, ghetto behaving customer service I have ever received. Prior to my experience at this location on yesterday - I had ALWAYS received outstanding stellar service from the team that worked here - I have had a long history at this location - I have rented a storage unit and multiple trucks through the years. The treatment I suffered from the moment I stepped up to the counter to be waited upon from the moment I left - I would not wish on my worst enemy. I have filed a complaint with corporate and I am also writing this review on the website. How this person is still employed with the company is beyond baffling. How desperate for employees did Uhaul have to be to not only employ this individual but to leave her in charge of the store was a poor, poor decision on their part. The thought of having to return to this store FOR ANY REASON WHATSOVER, sickens me.In addition - I highlighted ONE STAR in my rating of my experience - WHOEVER is reading this review - please note, NO STAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN HIGHLIGHTED - but the portal would not allow me to post this review unless I selected a minimum of one start - The service I received from this individual and from this location - a -0 IS THE RATING I GIVE
Excellemt customer service. Always fast and easy to refill propane tanks. Even able to refill 7 days a week.
I had a hitch installed on my vehicle at the South Bend Uhual. I made an appointment in advance, but they did not have the part in stock. It was estimated to take 1 hour to install the hitch, but it eneded up taking 7 hours and it took up my entire day. My muffler has been rattling ever since. I have called over 5 times, been on hold for over 5 minutes, and they have not been helpful in helping to correct the rattling. The call center took a message for me, but neither the South Bend nor the Elkhart location returned my call. I am very disappointed in their service. I would NOT recommend getting a hitch installed at Uhul. On a positive note, they did help me to hook up my bike rack into the hitch.
Clean, well organized. Lady at the counter was rude when we picked up the truck but the lady there when we dropped it off was great.
Friendly and easy to get everything set up and be on your way. The moving vans are very nice!
Super helpful and professional. Went out of their way to help us get the tongue in our receiver and when we discovered we had picked out a trailer that was too small (our fault, not theirs), they quickly set us up with the size we needed.
Wish I could give zero stars. This Uhaul location royally screwed me over. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. They also couldnt figure out how to install a hitch, and when they finally did, they hooked up the wiring incorrectly.

I will never come here again the man was in the bathroom for 15 mins nobody else to run the counter and he was rude when he came out and stated so rudely who ever was first there was another employee from a different store that felt he was out of line and I don’t think he even stayed for them to transfer the utility dollies to the other store on Michigan I will never come here again
Rude staff, unorganized. After we returned the trailor we rented they charged us a full deposit and refused to return when we called customer service they had zero record of it. We have been fighting with u haul for a week now
Good prices clean and secure
They told me the tank was full. I drove 13 miles and when I went to refill, I stopped at 5 gallons. Either thats some really poor mileage or that tank wasnt full.
