What can I say? I feel language doesn’t suffice to describe the BEST car maintenance I have ever had! I needed to replace my battery. When I arrived without a reservation, Murphy and his team were having lunch or something. I thought to myself, “oh, not a very good timing.” However, he promptly directed me to pull my car in the garage and started to work on my car. I waited there for my battery change and regular car maintenance. They were fast, professional, extremely pleasant to work with. Besides English, they also speak other Asian languages, such as mandarin, Thai/Lao, Malay.

OMG!!! First time there yesterday from the owner to the workers they were EXTREMELY nice, professional, honest they went above and beyond to explain everything to me. I would highly recommend everyone if you have any vehicle issues even just a tire change please go here. You will not be disappointed and the price is unbelievable. Best car maintenance experience I’ve ever had! I took a car that I was planning to buy to them for inspection and they patiently checked out everywhere around the car and gave me very insightful comments about the car’s problems and why it’s wiser not to buy it! At the end they didn’t charged me at all and said they’d charge only if the car were good and the decision was to purchase it!!

A little bummed out on my experience here after hearing about how great this shop is. I came here for an issue with one of my brake calipers being stuck. The shop I normally go to was booked with appointments, so I came here based in reviews. They ultimately misdiagnosed the issue I was having and it makes me wonder if the car was ever on a lift or if he just drove it around the block. I was told I should go back to my regular shop and get a warranty for the previous brake job and that would save me money, but if he did the work it would be $1,100 which is extremely high for a caliper, pads and rotors. A dealership might even charge you less. I went back to my regular and had both calipers (both were dragging even tho I was told the right side was the bad one) and for $500. The pads and rotors were not trashed from overheating them once like I was told. I appreciate them not taking my money, but ultimately going here was a complete waste of time and the issue could have been resolved for far less $$

The service was quick and they gave me a better price than originally quoted.

I got a call from my daughter in Boston yesterday that her new car smelled like something was burning when she drove it, she told me she didnt use it for a while and it was sitting. I live in New York so the first thing I did was look on yelp/google for a trustworthy mechanic to check it out. After reading several reviews I called Murph on the phone and told him the story. He said no problem, have her swing by and he would check it out. After inspection and a good engine cleaning with an air gun, he concluded that a squirrel had made a nest under the hood. He also said there was no damage to the wiring and she should be good to go. My daughter said he wouldnt take money for his time, and he was the nicest guy. These reviews really do make a difference and thats why I am writing this one. Thank you Murph!

This is a decent place. I went there several times and generally satisfied with their services. One thing is that the mechanic recommended better tires though I wanted to keep using Michelin defender. However, I think he has his own professional opinion.

This is TRULY the best mom and pop mechanic in all of Greater Boston and maybe in the state. Been going here for years and never once have I felt that feeling in the pit of your stomach of am I getting cheated. They had the opportunity to get me to replace the shocks and struts on my last car, but knowing I was planning on trading it in within the year and since the I didnt find the ride to be too bad the owner/head mechanic told me to save the money and not replace them, completely trustworthy and transparent, no unnecessary charges or work done. I now blindly trust their team.

Wow, amazing service. Noticed that my rear tire was leaking while driving and just randomly called an auto repair shop nearby to get it fix. Service was super fast and friendly, in & out in 10 minutes, and they didn’t even charge me! They’ve definitely earned a new future customer!

I have used Car Zone for routine stuff like an oil change, and brake work as well. My partner and I have been going to Car Zone for years and have probably taken our cars there about thirty times. This is literally the best mechanic you could possibly ever find. Actually, this is possibly the best business Ive ever used, period. When I get my oil changed the dealership always informs me that something is wrong with my car and Ill need to pay $300-$3000 to fix it. Instead of getting my car fixed at the dealership, I take it immediately to Murph. Murph and his guys usually diagnose my car in a few hours and then give me an ACTUALLY HONEST assessment of whats wrong. Ive literally taken my car to them five separate times and they told me that NOTHING WAS WRONG with my car and that my Toyota dealership was literally just lying to me. And the best part? THEY DONT CHARGE ME ANYTHING. I sometimes drive away from Car Zone thinking, How do these guys make money? I trust them so much that we still bring our cars to Car Zone even though weve moved to Rhode Island. Seriously, the best family-run business you could ask for. Highly recommend!

Murph is a great guy and a knowledgeable mechanic. His prices are some of the lowest Ive ever seen and he will go the extra mile to make sure youre happy. He will often put the car on the lift when you arrive and look at it with you right then and there to diagnose your issue, which I love.He replaced a brake caliper of mine about a year ago, and it started making noises recently so I brought it back in. He immediately said he would warranty it without any haggling or negotiating, and without me needing to show a receipt. When it turned out to actually be an entirely different problem, he fixed it for the cost of the part alone (no labor). Ended up being $30 for a job that most mechanics would have charged several hundred for.

I have been coming to Car Zone for years for my oil change. Ive had 2 newer cars he would take care of for me and just recently before I went on a trip to Tennessee I asked him to check if Im good for the drive and if he sees ANYTHING I need to touch up on. I told him Id rather put 500 into my car than get a rental. He could have easily told me I needed to fix something within that price range but was completely honest and told me I was good to go and everything look good. This has happened twice. I take good care of my car I just get paranoid sometimes. Haha

I replaced 4 tires for $100 which seems as a fair price. However, they replace my alternator for Toyota Camry 2012 and that is easy to do in less than half an hour, they charged me $200!!! after I replaced it, i asked other shops and they assure to me it wont cost more than $100. So!! they doubled to price. I will definitely do not recommended to deal with them. Or you should asked outside first and in the internet before doing anything.

Really honest and nice guys, fixed my ac/heat issue for free by knocking the cabin air filter back into place. Told me to order tires online to save a bit extra on front tire replacement.Maybe it’s my bad luck, but I know a lot of places refurbish brake rotors by sanding, a little black rattle can spray paint, and charge full price. My break rotors from Car Zone are 100% brand spanking new, no refurbishing here.Pretty happy so writing this review to help them out, but hope they can still make time for me in the future!😆

My car (older) is a bit shaky when I hit the breaks. Took it here, they checked it out, and Murph called me to say that it honestly is totally fine and at its current age and break condition theres not really any point of doing anything. Just charged me for the oil change (super reasonable rate I might add) and that was it. Awesome experience.

I cannot believe what gentlemen these guys are! I took my car there to fix a few issues that it had. Murph correctly directed me to contact where I bought the car from and also the original dealership to follow up with those repairs. He also rotated my breaks to fix a loose part on the car, and didn’t charge me for anything!!! If it was anywhere else, they would have charged $200 for that! Really helpful people.

Super quick, great price, no funny business

What a gem this place is. I started coming here just because the reviews were so phenomenal. I had been in one other time for some major ($1200) repairs, in which Murph and his team did a great job even though it was tough news to have to deal with such an expensive repair. I later came in because something was wrong with my muffler. He told me that he could replace the whole muffler system for $400+ or I could go to a muffler place he recommended to me and they could patch it for $70. A no brainer. And he asked nothing further for his time. I went to the muffler place the same day and had my car fixed in a hour. Im sure there’s a few mechanics out there who would have capitalized on my inexperience with cars and sold me the $400 fix. I will continue to come here just because I trust the guy. He knows doing right by people is good business and it seems to be working well for him.

Without exaggeration the most positive relationship I have ever had with a business. I moved twenty minutes away and keep coming back.Brought my dads van in after the dealer quoted him $1800. Car Zone talked him out of doing all the work they suggested. They love cars and hate money.

Arrived with light engine on. Other dealers asked me around 200 dollars just to discover the problem. I arrive he connected the diagnosis machine, filled the coolant and the light was off. The whole process took 3 minutes. I asked him for the price. He did not accept money. I wanted to hug him, but it would be weird :) totally recommended!!

Murph and his team are nice.Labor fees charged is kind of reasonable (quoted $400 for front wheel hubs and bearings + drivers side axle replacement - which should take about 2 hrs).He suggested us to buy the parts ourselves to save on parts costs. (if all work including parts are done there, it would cost $260 per side for front wheel bearing and hub replacement, and $450 for drivers side front axle replacement - total of $970). Online, oem replacement parts would cost around $100-150 total. But since were pressed on time and he said hes going to use genuine Toyota parts (or will order them from Toyota), we decided to let him source the parts (for $570).Few hours later, work is done. Growling noises reduced significantly, but whats disappointing is, we dont see that hes really using genuine Toyota parts.Would give 5 starts if parts used are genuine Toyotas as was promised.

He and his team are honest and hardworking. He does not rush people to make a decision so feel free to shop around if you like, but if you want someone you can count on, he and his team are the ones. Had an issue with smoke coming out from my car due to improper changing of the oil from Firestone. I dropped by, expecting to be seen in hours, but was seen immediately and they pointed the issue out to me, refilled my oil and tightened the filter nut, all for no charge. Hands down the best car repair experience Ive ever had. Not only did Murph finish replacing my starter at at least 1 day before he said he would, he voluntarily reattached my previously glued rear view mirror that the first place I took my car to knocked off in the process of *not* working on my car for 4 days. If you live in the area look no further, this is the guy!! No BS, just great service at a reasonable price.

Amazing - got us right in for a chronic flat my husband has had for like a year, when he finally agreed to get it fixed after our compressor broke, they found a nail in the tire and fixed it for free! Seriously, great service, great people.

If you have a problem with your car, you should really send it to car zone!!!! This is the most honest mechanic place I have ever went! I have been to this place twice, they either fixed my small problem without any charge or refer us to another reliable place since they dont have the required equipment. They are very polite and professional. I went there again today because another mechanic told me my car need to have the breaks and tires replaces at a total of $1000+. However, when I drove my car, the breaks works fine and feels right. After a check, they told me there is no need to replace the breaks and the tires can still be used for some time. They told me about the exhaust leak which I did smell while driving! Again, after a thorough check, they didnt charged me a penny. They assured me this is not a huge problem and can be fixed within $200 if the broken part is cut out and replaced and they direct me to the right place to work on it. I really really appreciate their honesty! Again, if you have a car problem, take it to them, you will never regret it!!

Car Zone was really, really great. Wade was super helpful, kind, and quick to boot! As a woman, sometimes I’m a little wary of going to mechanics because I worry about being upsold or the staff assuming I don’t know anything, but honestly the guys at Car Zone were great and the entire time I was there I never once felt like I was being treated with anything but respect. I would (and will be) recommending Car Zone to everyone I know!

Car Zone is a scam and I would highly recommend you consider taking your repairs elsewhere. In May 2018, I brought my Toyota Avalon in for inspection and they informed me I should get new front brake pads (~$250) within the next few months. I made appointment for five days later, and within that five days I had burned through front calipers and now had $880 worth of repairs. Now, only 20 months and 14,000 miles later, I brought my car to a trusted mechanic and they informed me I need entirely new front brake pads, rotors and calipers for $650. Car Zone lied about the urgency of my front brake pads, let me drive my car off the property, upcharged me for a repair, and did a horrible job with it. Learn a lesson from me, and take your business elsewhere.

Murph is such a great guy and the most transparent mechanic Ive ever had the pleasure of working with. I came in Friday morning because my engine overheating light went on. Within 20 minutes he topped off my coolant and used the lift to check for any leaks which luckily he didnt find. And in the end, he insisted no charge!!! I really liked how I could see exactly what was going on with the waiting room being right next to the garage and Murph explained everything to me. The reviews are true, this is a great shop and Ill be back to do business with them.

I am new to the northeast and had to get some work done on my SUV. I took it to the Lexus dealership and was given an outrageous price for each suggested fix. I brought that estimate to Car Zone. They came in way under for everything they did, and told me that some of the things on there didn’t need to be done. Yeah hey were fast, honest, reasonably priced and they did quality work.I’ve been back by twice since then (small fix for mine and one for my fiance’s Car). They did the same great job. I never leave reviews, but I can’t recommend these guys a lot. They’re very polite, professional, fast, quality, honest and well-priced. Don’t even bother looking up another place, just go to Car Zone.

I brought my car in for a driveshaft and exhaust install. Murph and his team did a great job putting this together and communication was perfect.The next day, I found my vehicle had some whining noises and identified that I had a power steering leak. I brought my car back to car zone, and Murph told me he forgot to mention I had a power steering leak before I left. He told me it was leaking for a while and would be expensive to fix. Now, my car was running perfectly before this, and I had brought my car to a reputable tuner shop a month earlier and Im sure those guys would have identified a leak. This whole situation is a nightmare now because Ill have to wait to make an appointment with the reputable shop to see what can be done about this.I will not be bringing my car back to this place, and the search will have to continue for a reliable mechanic in the Boston area for my needs. I recently moved to the area and needed some small auto repair before inspection. I saw all the super high reviews and decided to try them out. Its honestly as good as the reviews say. They looked at my car and told me that the repair I thought I needed wasnt necessary and saved me a bunch of money. Theyre also super nice and flexible.
