Staff not customer friendly. They treat you like you owe them a pay check. Im a personal trainer that use to teach there. Ive seen this location in its better days. I was told by a member of the poor service she received and I had to check ot out for myself.
Its a big facility with a good selection of machines, but they rarely fix broken machines. There has been a hack squat machine that has been broken since I started going there 7 months ago. There has been a box (for box jumps) that has also been broken for 7 months. And now my favorite back machine has been broken for 3 weeks. The only reason I say they rarely fix things is because they replaced a broken battle rope
Tried to sign up today, but my experience was horrible, I met with someone name Arron, who was nice, then spoke to Valarie, the black lady with with wig. OMG, who train her? she was awful, the way she speaks to me was so bad, no good professional customer service at all. doesnt she realized this is a business and a nice attitude get more people in the gym. I guess she is getting paid regardless if she is nice of not, so she dont care. Its a nice GYM and I really wanted to join, but after talking with her I was so turned off, I came back and cancel my membership. She needs some more training on customer services, this is the first GYM I came that people were not warm and welcome at the desk.Next dayI called up the owner, Victor he said I would could come in and he would wave the fee. But I did not want to go because I did not want to see the mean lady Valarie again. So I call up Arron an asked if I will get fee waived before I make that trip to the GYM He said that he spoke two people and they will not waived the fee, I do understand, and would pay, but the Black lady was so rude and nasty that it makes NOT joining very easy.9/8/2021Went to GYM over the weekend to avoid Valarie. A young man gave me guest pass to try out the GYM. I enter the GYM and yes you guess it, it was Valarie. She took my pass and said smile in the camera and told me I should have received one in the mail. I told her I did not get one, she tore up the pass I gave her and she gave me a print out pass which I guess is the policy. Her attitude was still the same, rude and not good customer service.Well now, I learn my lesson, I will call to make sure she is not there before going to that GYM or simple go to another GYM
Some of the machines do not work, but there are plenty available. Its just frustrating sometimes to keep moving to find one that works. Staff is friendly. The gym is clean. It is not intimidating. I enjoyed the few classes i have taken. Not enough mat space to do crunches or other exercises.
I honestly dont know whats worse, the repugnant and dismissive managerial staff that lets urine pool in the mens bathroom or the attitude of the staff itself. Memberships are a scam that they charge you to be released from and they arent worth nearly the ammount that they cost- the machines are poorly maintained and the pool smells like they dumped a few pounds of shock in it and called it a day. Unfortunate, honestly- was worthwhile years ago when I first signed up.
Not a bad spot. Usually pretty clean and would go at night when not too others are there. Nice to take advantage of pool, sauna, open room and cycling room. Also has racquetball courts and juice bar. Watch out for the old men who like to walk around naked in the locker rooms and strike up conversations. Other than that, good for the price point
Cardio machines are a bit old and clunky but serves their purpose I guess. I still get a good workout in. Its closer to me than the one i signed up at so thats a plus.
It has been a while since I last been to LA fitness. My experience was good. Environment was clean..
I have had a free trial to the gym so far. I really have enjoyed coming here to workout and I plan to purchase a membership next week. The gym itself has a lot to offer. I love the sauna, swimming pool, basketball gym, and other features. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because they can be somewhat annoying with calling me every day to see if I’m coming to the gym. They try harder than a car salesman to sell you the gym membership right away before the free trial even starts. It’s not necessary. If you give the the gym a chance to speak for itself, I will sign up for a membership.
Clean Cycling Studio and great location! Havent used the weights yet but will update when I do!
It was nice we just walk right in ...nobody was in the front to help you ..
Very few members clean the machines before and after they use them. I request a bottle of clear from the front desk and carry it around to assure everything I touch is cleaned before and after I use it.
I signed up at the Snellville location and had to cancel my membership within a few uses. For following reasons: the management at this location is beyond unprofessional, the machines are outdated, and the gym is unkept and does not appear to have been cleaned in a while.
I have the best trainer, Shay shes a God sent
Zumba was good, but no water aerobics so sad. Lady at desk by trainers very rude
It was horrible. Smelt like death in the ladies sauna.. its been that way even after 3 weeks of making it known to management. Its getting worse..
Great gym, they just need to continue maintaining their facilities so they don’t fall into disrepair.
I love LA Fitness! I really love the Sauna.
Its a 15 mile drive from my house, but I liked it very much, better than the one I usually go to.
Supposed to open at 8 on Saturday mornings. 8:30 & doors are still locked. Unacceptable
I read some of the reviews for this club and was afraid to come to this location, and still came to sign up. I sat down with a gentleman and explained to him about a coupon and if the can honor it, long story short his manager took over (lady) and was just nasty, didnt even tell me the total i was paying and charged my card and walked away. I ended up cancelling on the SPOT! Really the WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD!
The shower is great but some customer like to Throw up in the shower I suspect is coming out both ends this is probably why they don’t do it at home this ihas happened on more than one occasion I suspect some strange ritual
Valerie is honestly horrible. I have no idea why she is never held accountable for the things she does. The owner of this establishment must not care. Several of these reviews mention her & unless you plan on purchasing a membership she is rude. I won’t be back.
They have the old style round plates that are great for deadlifts and an oly-lift platform.
The way me and my family was treated is unacceptable. But I know it wasnt everyones fault so I gave 3 stars instead of 1 star. Overall the trainer was nice but the employees were a bit authorized by everything. Didnt have problems until leaving. Will be going to better location...
Love this place. We need it to extend our lives.
Just switched here very big
This people will LIE in your face and tell you that you can cancel personal trainer anytime so that you sign up!! I explained to them I had a surgery coming up the same month I started the membership. They said I could freeze the charge while in recovery. That was a lie, I feel totally betrayed, I havent use the membership but once, I called to cancel, now they say I am forced to show them medical records !! to cancel the contract which is an absolute violation of my privacy HIPAA. They mislead me to believe there was no contract since I could cancel anytime, not true. All of it was a lie. Also a bonus; they wont do it over the phone, I have to bother myself post-op physically there. I am contacting Consumer Affairs and HIPAA.
They moved all of the mats to the “ personal trainer” section so they can’t be accessed . Sometimes machines are broken for days and they don’t place warning sign on them.
It was ok especially when it got late more basketball players, so it was ok
Mens urinals and bath stalls needs more attention to the urine odors . Needs more sanitation and always out paper towels.
Great staff. The gym is in good shape. The the measures adopted about the covid are so good as well.
The “manager” lady from up north...made my visit to this location not pleasurable. I don’t not wish for anyone to lose their job but she needs to enroll in a course for hospitality....
Could do with less cardio machines and more free weights
Loved the setup and the staff was great. I was an out of town guest and my spouse Shawn is a member and Bernard made sure I was able to enjoy my pass. Thinking about joining myself. Thank you
It’s ok
I personally think that I can send a whole day in this gym, its peaceful and clean
The “GM” Valerie definitely should not be in the position of dealing with the public. She and her female staff member were rude and not helpful at all. I had to call the Sugarloaf location to speak with “Ivan” while in front of her to get the proper assistance. With everything that is going on you would think someone that is considered a senior manager would know her role as it relates to customer relations. Not a good way to get someone to stay a member at a gym. Hopefully “Daniel” the VP can give her some extra training on customer relations! Don’t waste tome or energy at this location zero stars from me.
Machines needs an update. Pool needs to be cleaned regularly!!!
Normally the staff here are always very polite but whoever the older lady is that works there was EXTREMELY rude to my guest and I this morning. I will not be back at this location. She seriously needs some customer service training.
They only reason I dont like this Location is Valarie, she doesnt know how to deal with customers. Poor management. Lots and lots of attitude.
Gym looks nice but had to give 1 star because of how annoying they are, constantly calling my phone and hanging up then sending multiple emails at once trying to get me to join like eff off honestly, even after I said Im not interested.
Best consulting company to do motivational speaking engagements or convert training program s to social and distant learning plans.
I like that the guest pass to check out the gym is a 5 day pass. Thats a good amount of time to see if it fits your needs. I walked in and I was immediately overwhelmed. It is massive and busy. They offer a lot of amenities including a pool which is nice. I love group fitness which they offered. I met with a lady (wont call her out)who gave me a tour. She was super nice at first but I was disappointed that her attitude changed( lost the excitement and playfulness) when she realized I was probably not going to join..I believe in finding what fits you so I say try out the guest pass. For me this was not my gym. I chose Crunch Fitness and Im happy! 🤗
Rude staff. The Black lady with the black lips and bad wig/weave was horrible. She definitely should not be in the position of dealing with the public. She was rude and curt in how she spoke to me and my son. Not a good way to get someone to sign up to your gym. Courtesy goes a long way. Will definitely get membership at another gym. Owners may want to train staff on how to treat consumers.
The sign and info online said the gym closes at 7pm today, I arrived 4:40pm. The door isis locked at 4:40. The attendant at the front, who locked the door told me the gym closes at 5pm. This location needs to work on communicating open/closing times. This was not the best experience 🙄.
Pretty empty these days due to covid but still a great gym!
Best gym in a while and they treat you really well and the trainers want to see you improve dont matter how much in your pocket
The sales department associates seem desperate for sales. The gym is crowded during peak hours. The restroom has been in decent shape recently. They rush you out at closing time. For example turn the music off 30 minutes before closing
Dirty, bad customer service 😒
I left Planet Fitness to come here since my job reimburses for LAF. While, the weights themselves are similar to PF, I LOVE the spin classes AMAZING!!! Its Trap Spin and I am addicted. I also like there is a sauna, though I dont spend much time in it.
I like it over here. I come in the morning between 7 and 8 never too crowded. I grey it in and get it. The staff is friendly
This location is horrible. Since Feb 2021 I want to this location like four times. I see that everything is poor and not clean at all. Also sun room is not working all the time.
This place gets five stars for the training staff. Whitney is the best, most personable and motivating trainer I’ve ever had and Dre, the training manager is welcoming and helpful. Overall, the staff makes me feel like family and I look forward to coming in week after week. This place gets busy. Some days (Monday evenings especially), you have to stalk people leaving the gym to find a park. The kids club at this location is great and my daughter loves hanging out with Ms. Cici while I work out. Undoubtedly, LA Fitness is pricey. Training runs $50/session and for a family of two plus Kids Club, plus training, I’m at $270 a month. The bathrooms could definitely be kept cleaner but that’s really my only criticism of this place.
It was clean and social distancing was being used
There are lots of machines, weights and racquet ball courts here. The gym, pool and exercise rooms are always clean. My only complaint is how long it takes for broken equipment to be fixed. They have great personal trainers that take their jobs seriously.
This gym has all the equipment that you need to get the job done. Very friendly staff.
I love going to LA fitness as it has most of what I need. It is very pricey compared to gyms are just as good. LA needs to be more competitive in prices. I would love to add a family member but its too expensive.Maybe add amenities that the others carry like massage beds, tanning, bringing a guest each visit etc.. I kept my planet fitness membership just for that. You need to know your market. Keep up.This location is not a favorite. Actually dislike the most out of the others I visit. Snellville location needs to clean, upgrade and work on customer service. This location is too cluttered together and outdated.
My mother is 76 years old and still goes to the gym and one specific. Eder she likes is the bicycle class. On this particular day she got there early to get a bike as this is a busy place but her surprise she was ask to dismount the bike because according to LA FITNESS they are reserved, keep in mind she’s an senior citizens so the call some to dismount her by force to her surprise. We as a family being members for about 20 years and the fee includes all equipment and it doesn’t said in any of their contracts that machines need reservations. She stood her ground and they didn’t dare to touch her so she continue her class. This a classic example of poor management and thus why their reviews are so poor.We will look for another gym.
I would literally give this location zero stars if I could. I have thought about re-joining as I have moved back to the area and I dont care much for the other gyms around here however, today was the 3rd time I have called to get some information from a sales associate or customer service and the 3rd time I was greeted with disdain. There sales and customer service representatives are rude, lack knowledge and are incredibly off putting. You can literally feel the annoyance in their voices. As a studio manager of a group fitness gym I would be absolutely appalled if any of my associates spoke to a member, or potential member the way they do. I guess I will be bringing my business to Crunch or Planet Fitness. Very disappointing for a higher end fitness club.
I like this location been here about a year now. Although Ive been apart of LA Fitness for years before. I liked the set up and placement before and even now during the pandemic.Currently have great spacing and provides you your own disinfectant spray. Someone was cleaning equipment constantly so that was cool.I think a big issue with these reviews are some people are looking for or need someone to basically hold their hand in the gym. Tell them what to do when to do and how to do it. Thats not what its about, atleast not for me. If you need that type of attention than yes maybe this place isnt for you or you need more direct personal training and I also did not sign up here so I dont know that aspect of the process and can not speak on that treatment. When I work out I like variety I like options and I like to be left alone I know how to train my body and dont need help or hand holding so it works out just fine. Its far more superior than the College Park location. But when I work out I like to know everything is there and leave me alone to it. Now I do admit its a weird section that likes to sit at those machines outside the spin class and butt watch. Usually old men and its creepy but I dont take the class so...Moving on... the classes are always full but I dont take those the racquet rooms are occupied dont use those either and the kids room can fill up quick sometimes due to the classes especially on Saturday so either get there early or plan to wait until a mom comes out of the class. Its a bit much when your on a time constraint or that pre workout already kicked in. But I like the ladies in there also they built up a great relationship with my kids.Other than that the people are friendly. At least to me and the manager is awesome we joke every time I walk in, I love the ladies at the juice bar. And the trainers always greet me. Now I know and hate rude people with a passion and I so far havent encountered that here like I stated far more professional than those people working at College Park. I only give it 4 stars due to the restroom needing more attention and that creepy watch section outside the spin class.
Whitney, Personal Trainer, is the absolute best. She has conveyed in me to have self-confidence while enjoying to come to training sessions. Whitney instills in me the use of proper techniques, and is patient, with a caring demeanor. I have tried another trainer, but by far she is the outright the “BEST”! *Thank you for LA FITNESS employing such exemplary employee.*Sincerely,Chris, NRP
I’ve been a member, and former employee, of LA Fitness at the Snellville location for over 15 years. I never write reviews but for the past few years I’ve had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with the manager, Valerie H. She is consistently rude, really rude, and her customer relations skills are horrible. Asking her a simple question is a regrettable experience. She’s just mean! Recently, I returned to the location after the Pandemic reopening, and regrettably, was met at the front desk by Valerie. There’s a polite way to explain “Social Distancing” but not by Valerie H. I’ve been to many other locations ( most recently the new Lawrenceville location...very nice!) and no others are managed as poorly as the Snellville location. TV’s don’t work, broken water fountains, empty hand sanitizers, etc.
Im not sure why there are so many bad reviews about the staff. Valerie is amazing. Her customer service was great and I just loved her energy. It was like talking to my favorite auntie 😛The trainer (Doug) was really (cute and) knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition. Its been two days since our 15-minute trial session and my legs are still sore lol.I showered before hitting the pool and unfortunately there was hair sitting on the drain. That isnt the staffs fault though. People at the gym need to clean up after themselves. 😭All in all, Its been a great (re)start to my fitness journey and I will be back this evening.
Great branch. Everything you need to get or stay fit is in there!
I was thinking is signing in for membership because my friend says it was great. She was in town visiting, and wanted to work out, so we took her there and we took the family there to try it out as well. The customer service was so bad, both days we attempted to go, she decided to cancel, v and we simply opted for another gym altogether. These women there are the worst.
This place is awesome, honestly if you wanna get a good workout while being in a cool atmosphere this is the place to go
Very nice gym. Lacks shelves in showers (razor etc.) and changing rooms. Its been there a while so the machines are starting to show their age but everything worked well.
My mom, my sister and myself all had passes to try out LA fitness. We only went twice and just stopped going. The staff’s attitude was terrible. The management included. Valerie is one of the managers and her attitude completely turned me away from even wanting to sign with this place. I felt like I was a bother to the staff and it just made me feel really uncomfortable. They also don’t have enough cardio equipment in my opinion. It’s mostly weights. Th bathroom stalls made me feel so uncomfortable to use because it was so nasty in there. The sauna was nice I guess and the smoothie bar that they have. But Overall, I just wasn’t comfortable and I didn’t feel welcomed at all. Signed up with Planet Fitness instead. The staff were very welcoming and I love the aura over there a lot better
I personally love Crunch, that’s the gym for me. I only considered La Fittness bc most of my friends in Atlanta go there. But I have to say this location is nothing compared to the others. It’s very small, and sales department called every single day, filling up my mailbox, to try to get me to commit. I just feel like they’re only interested in my money rather than finding a gym more fitted towards me. When I finally answered and told them I wasn’t interested due to the pricing, Spencer went quiet and hung up. That just left a bad taste in my mouth. Avoid paying the crazy installment fee and horrible service and just go to Crunch. You can get anything you want from LA Fitness with them for a much more affordable prices and friendly smiles.
Clean, so many exercise option. Great pool. Helpful staff.
Gets super crowded at times and its pricey but they are very helpful. The trainers are awesome and the classes offered are great! I love the yoga class, specially with Patricia or Maria.
The trainers are smart and accurate.
Valerie H. in merchandise & memberships provides some of the worst & most impatient & abrasive service I’ve EVER had from a LA Fitness. I understand they get paid off of commissions but she definitely lost a customer with how obvious & ruse she was being
Members here are not the same. They don’t take care of their own mess. To be more correct, this entire town has never been the same. Trash is everywhere.
Ive been coming here for 10 years but I think Im finally done. Constantly dirty, especially the bathrooms, no one racks weights, amateurs everywhere doing inconsiderate things (jump rope under the ONLY squat rack, sitting on the equipment while doing nothing but chatting, 3 idiots using the only 2 benches to do the exact same weight instead of working in on one bench, etc). The only shining light is the middle aged African African woman who does the night shift. She is lovely and incredibly kind and deserves a huge raise.Update: gentlemen that started working a few months ago has been doing an absolutely fantastic job keeping the place perfectly clean.
Usually its too crowded and nobody wears a masks.
Have not been to this gym since Jan/Feb of this year, went through the process to cancel and we’re given the run around. They have charged my account every month plus late fees since then. Maybe a Google review will get my $420 dollars back. Also glad to hear they got rid of Valerie, she was terrible.
Isiah-nice dude
I would give this location a zero, every time I come in around 8pm staff Is never attentive and I’m always asked to walk back and scan in again . I’ve had questions before and employee named Kayla always has an ugly approach and attitude when answering my questions . There are plenty of better and cleaner locations with newer machines and nicer staff, will definitely stay away from this one .
The showers are scarily filthy. The spa isnt working much of the time. The general appearance is of a rundown location that needs a great deal of work. Having said all that, I do appreciate the deep expertise of the trainer I work with. I will probably not renew my membership unless there there are some major changes.
No idea when class schedules are. Totally disorganized.
Good Gym in a Good Location. This location had most of what I needed to help me accomplish what I came to do and what it DIDNT have I was able to make up for. Like most gyms this size, the crowds depend on the time that you go but I dont think Ive been at a time where I wasnt able to do/use what I needed to. The restrooms/showers were reasonably clean as well
Honestly this place in special the bathrooms are horrible! Specialty on Sundays. Floors super dirty, no soap in dispensers, the showers full of mold and mildew. If I am paying 30 dollars a month × many other customers hire someone that wants to do the job right and pay them fair. I have been in many others Gyms and are super clean. I am very disappointed to the point I am going to move to a different company. You can get fungus and other diseases in this place.
Met with one of the trainers, Doug. Really nice guy who will help me develop a plan for gaining strength and muscles! My goal is to lose a little weight, be stronger and hopefully lose the sciatic nerve pain and lose the piriformis syndrome!
I enjoy working out at LA Fitness. They have many equipment that supports my workout program, and they have personal trainers who helped me reach my goal quicker. The sauna, swimming pool, and not to mention the many classes they offer were deal breakers for me.
Ms. Asia for Zumba Sunday/Friday and Ms. Dawn for Cycling Tuesday/Thursday..you can’t go wrong! On the days that I don’t feel like working out I can depend on these two to push me beyond my imagination. So thankful for the ability to workout, sweat A LOT, and have fun!
I wish there was an option for 1/2 star?Whether I go to the gym when it opens at 5 a.m. or after work, the ladies locker room never looks like its been thoroughly cleaned. The lockers are so disgusting that I hate to put my stuff in there. In fact, I wont put anything in there if it cant hang without touching the floor. I understand that the lockers cant be cleaned while the guests are using them but why cant someone clean them at the end of the night or before the gym opens? If that is not an option, close a section off first thing in the morning and CLEAN that section, the next day close another section and CLEAN, then close another section and CLEAN! Its not rocket science! Sweep and use a WET mop to clean the floors using a cleaning solution w/bleach. The gym.....OMG......if you lay on a mat you will see dust bunnies floating across the floor and the cardio equipment upstairs has a layer of dust that never seems to go away. If you cant get it right, outsource it to a cleaning company!P.S. I also go to the gym on Church St. in Decatur in the morning and the first thing that the cleaning lady cleans are the restrooms and showers. I love it!
Great atmosphere to workout in. Wish there were more equipment to use. Staff is alright, most dont smile even speak. I use the sauna, I absolutely love it. Its very relaxing and calm. Always find my way back after bootcamp.
They check ur temp at door. But everyone inside no masks, no social distance, several people bumped in to me. It was a horrible experience.
I signed up with a personal trainer through la fitness the end of January 2019 I was in an unfortunate accident on 2/15/19 informing my trainer of such and advised that I would not be able to come in no time soon. I was billed $200.00 on 2/27/ and 3/8/19 in the amount of 300 dollars on the top of 29.99 membership fee. I can not believe I was charged $500 for five day total of personal training. I am distraught and will not be using LA FITNESS even if doctors clear me. I stayed in touch with my trainer and to not put my account on hold is terrible. I would like to be reimbursed.
Not the greatest, but not the worst either. So far any issues have been handled well, sometimes a bit time consuming, but they get resolved without any bad manners on either side of the desk. Michael is great, he answers any and all questions straight forward with no fluff. He wont give you a run around. The other staff I have encountered have been nice enough. Not in your face with greetings, but no side eyes either. Always greeted when walking in.The cleanliness leaves a bit to be desired, but thats expected at peak time. The weight rack areas the worst, mostly because patrons dont know how to rerack or use a towel. So far there seems to constantly be someone cleaning in the ladies locker/restroom. Not so in the mens according to friends. Its basically everything you would expect to get from a gym you pay ~30 a month for. If you want towels and pristine conditions, try lifetime...
Word to the wise. DO NOT JOIN THIS LOCATION. Front desk staff is rude and astonishingly unhelpful. One questions what they even do all day besides scanning membership cards. Not to mention how frequently classes are cancelled at this location. But trust me, you WONT know until youve driven all the way to this gym and waited 20 minutes in a room full of people that the teacher just decided NOT to show up. The staff doesnt even deem us relevant enough to come to the room and tell us in person that a teacher is not going to come. They just leave you there to figure it out. All that time, all that gas... what a waste. They are quick to sign you up and take your money, but fail to deliver on basic essentials like teachers who show up on time (if at all) or a working speaker system. LA FITNESS SNELLVILLE, GET you process together, RESPECT your members, and RUN your business effectively. It doesnt take a genius to call an instructor 30 minutes before a class to ensure they are coming, or the update the schedule in advance so members know not to bother coming to this dump of a gym.
Doug the personal trainer is awesome. Knowledgeable, personable, and patient.
Just signed up today with my wife. Valerie was awesome and super accommodating. She was so pleasant and professional and made signing up a pleasure. I wanted a few items that were outside the box and she explained why she could not meet my requests, but she did it so nice that I still felt like I won and got what I wanted, that takes talent and patience. I’m not an easy sale. I felt compelled to write this review because we can work out anywhere, there are a thousand gyms to choose from, I felt at home here because of the people, especially Valerie. She should be recognized, but I found out after signing up that she was the GM. So it’s obvious why this is a smooth sailing ship, they have her great work ethic as an example.I highly recommend this place.
I hate not having your own TV on the treadmill. The TVs are on the wall and youre forced to watch news or sports programs. Also, the locker rooms need TLC.Love the hoursLove the juice bar
