I have been a loyal member for 5+ years. In this time, I have yet to see an investment in new/upgraded cardio equipment. The gym and equipment are old, constantly out of order, filthy and falling apart. There are basic pieces of cardio equipment; however, any of the pieces that offer a bit of variety are either out of order or have a line of people waiting to use them because there is only 1 to choose from (i.e. rower, inclined elliptical, inner/outer thigh trainer). The one inclined elliptical doesnt even work properly- incline says 20 but in reality only goes to ~6ish & shuts off if you switch from forward to backward.I selected this gym due to location but if you can afford a few extra minutes its worth going to Planet Fitness down the road. Plus the weekend hours are terrible!On an extra note, when I provided this feedback (while yes it is negative and not easy to hear) they elected to cancel my membership without ever speaking to me live. They said they tried to call me; however, that never happened. I provided my correct number in case that was the issue and never heard from them - they just cancelled my membership. Goes to show you the level of customer service and investment they put in you as a member. Dont waste your time or money!

Overall, I liked the gym. Not sure why people have complained about the equipment as I never saw any issues other then the occasional break that was being fixed. Was never too crowded even in the late afternoon. People at the front desk were nice.HOWEVER, we did not find out til we cancelled our membership that we were scammed out of one months rent. We signed a membership on Jan 28th and paid for a full month, assuming we were paying for the NEXT 30 days. Nothing was said to the contrary. In reality, we were paying $50 for the rest of January. $50 for 3 days! Why would anyone agree to that when we could just wait and come back Feb 1st?? They are not upfront with how their system works until theyve already taken your money. I would not continue using this dishonest gym, even if we werent moving.

Buyer beware! You can join but never leave. I cancelled my membership in person at the club, filled out the form over a year ago. They continued to charge my card (shame on me for not paying closer attention) until the card was no longer valid and I found out through a COLLECTION AGENCY calling me for $240. I contacted the club and they claim to have lost the form and are still coming after me for more money even after the fraudulently charged my card for 8 months. I didn’t even ask for a refund, just the elimination of the debt collector. Highly unethical organization, stay far away!!

Its not worth the money. I’ve always just done a day pass before I signed on with planet fitness. The equipment is old as well. I don’t know how old they are but they are definitely tarnished. And not worth the rate they wanted to give me. I’ve been with planet fitness for a while now and it stills smells new! That’s incredible to me. And I’ve even caught employees doing extensive cleaning of the equipment, I mean they were lifting treadmills and cleaning every inch of them.I doubt world gym has done that even once with there equipment. U can’t record yourself working out either. They said it was because the people who think they’re celebrities might get uncomfortable... Chances are a real celebrity would go to a real gym. No deadlifting either, which is ironic because their weights go up to 100lbs. If only the members could utilize them.

BUYER BEWARE! Do not sign up for a membership at this gym!! They have TERRIBLE customer service and will not allow you to cancel even when you’re contract is up and you’re month to month. They continued to charge the full payment during Covid when they were closed! Finally was able to confirm with the manager that I cancelled my membership and they are still charging me months later!!! These people are crooks and their facility is dirty with old nasty equipment.

Friendly staff and most of the members are chill. Equipment is well maintained. There are a few nit-picky rules like “no bags on the gym floor” (apparently because the owner is concerned about concealed weapons) and the annual “equipment” fee (dumb) that are fairly annoying, but otherwise I’ve enjoyed being a member here.

Never too crowded, and plenty of practical equipment. Love the movie room, nice touch. Definitely worth the price of admission thus far. Wouldve given it 5 stars, however I think the response time for broken equipment is the one area that needs improvement.

Update from my earlier review. It seems like its back on track-movie room is great, friendly people are back and the atmosphere is much better. Ive been a member for about 7 years and it has had its ups and downs, but its nice to see that they continue to make improvements. Lots of cardio equipment, great selection of free weights and a boxing room too. Would like to see a few more non-specialized classes, but the variety is good and there is a yoga studio too.

This gym will not disappoint if you want to have a cool atmosphere, excellent equipment and no wait times. The staff is there for you but also leave you to do your own thing. Join now before the New Years rush. Mack made the joining process a piece of cake!

Do not use this gym. I have been fighting with them for 2 years to cancel my membership. They will steal your money. Short of taking them to court you will never have it end. This has been a horrible experience. If you have a problem the managers are never there but if you want to sign up the magically appear. Use at your own risk. There are far better and up to date gyms out there spend your money at them.

The staff is always SUPER friendly and eqipment is well maintained far beyond average! One time I noticed a crack in the seat cushion on a leg machine and without even saying anything it was repaired the next day when my husband went to use it . Ive had many gym memberships and am very happy I found this gym. Also Larry is always there with a smile to greet and always upbeat its almost weird. Thanks world gym!

Staff is friendly and there is a good balance of equipment. I do find it disappointing that the padding on equipment is ripped and not replaced. Some of it has been this way since i joined several months ago so there has been ample time to fix it. Same goes for the rubber gripping on several pieces of equipment that are torn or missing. These are small and relatively inexpensive fixes and should be addressed. I left Planet Fitness where I was only paying $15 per month and now pay $45 at World Gym but I have to tell you PF kept their equipment impeccable and Worlds Gym should do the same. Im willing to pay more but I expect better equipment maintenance and upkeep.

Good gym, from an amenity and cost perspective. However, while theyll let you cancel your membership if youre moving out of the area, you have to pay 20% of the total contract cost to do so. How generous.

Great gym. The place is never too crowded and I rarely have to wait on equipment (at least when Im there). The staff is friendly and helpful with any issues.

This gym is overrated! After speaking with someone about canceling my contract, I was told to provide a letterhead letter stating I was leaving as well as documented bills showing my new location. After paying 9 months out of 12 on the contract, I had to pay 20% of the entire cost of 12 months to get out of the contract. Yes!!! After I paid 9 months I was charged 20% of the entire 12 months. LA FITNESS or any other gym is your best option. STAY AWAY!!!!

Always a great place to workout; ask for Mack. Looking forward to getting back in this place. Never a wait for equipment, never crowded and very affordable. You can pay more but you wont get more!

Beware: 60 day notice to stop membership, even after you fulfill your contract. Cancelling membership isnt necessarily easy, they mandate you meet with a manager or send certified mail. You are out of luck if manager is not present.

Overall I really like the gym, especially the Theater Studio, but can you please tell me who wants to see an action movie at 7am in the morning? It would be very beneficial to put on a local news channel instead of shooting and dead bodies so people can get their day started right.

I have beencoming to World Gym since i moved to the Smyrna area. It has a much better feel than the cookie cutter gyms like LA Fitness that I used to belong to. A huge free weight selection and I never have to wait for a bench or machine. I know my wife loves the classes they hold all week long as well. Friendly staff that always greets you and sends you off with a friendly goodbye after you work out.

Ive been a member of this gym for nearly 2 years. I love it! Very clean, lots of options/equipment, and all of the fitness classes and instructors are great.

Would not recommend. Actual gym experience was ok, but they make money on you when you need to cancel! Read and save your contract, because they have definitely written it to benefit them and make money off of you.

I have been a member here for almost 9 months now and it is hands better than any of the other gyms in the area! The price point is about $10 more per month but I think the amenities more than make up for the cost!There is NEVER wait to use any equipment (and no one needs another excuse to miss a workout) because there are more than enough benches and dumbbells to accommodate International Chest Day (Mondays)! And their dumbbells go up to 150 lbs!!!The Boxing/Functional Room is getting very popular with a new Striking Dummy Bag and New Slam/Wall Balls. They also have TWO 50 battling ropes.But the movie theatre is by far the best feature if you hate to do cardio. And they just got a new HD projector! The picture is awesome now!There are some things that need updating and fixing but compared to every other gym that I had tried before joining here, World Gym was the right choice for me.

For this gym to be located in the area that its in, you would think they would be on top of their game with new renovations and equipment. Unfortunately you would be sadly mistaken. The equipment is very old and outdated and like anything else in life thats old or outdated you throw it away.That what I plan on doing with my membership. I mean get it together World Gym!!! In the meantime Im looking forward to Titanz Fitness building their new facility, I know a lot of members will be leaving Worlds Gym once that is built

So far, so good! I just signed up for this gym after moving to Atlanta about a month ago and have no complaints thus far! Ive never had any issue with it being too busy in accessing whichever machines or benches I require per my daily workout and the staff is all very friendly. I also love that theres a basketball court and the movie theater helps provide a distraction when forcing myself to do cardio. Theres even a military rate for the month-to-month plan I have! The only thing that would be a little nicer was if they were open later on Fridays and Saturdays but I tend to work out in the morning usually so its not a huge deal.Two thumbs up! :)

Hands down the best gym Ive been to since moving to Atlanta. 10X better than LA Fitness.

This gym is the best gym within Smyrna that has everything. When I say everything, that includes Les Mills classes! No other gyms offered it at the time so I was sold! I went for about a month out of my year contract before I found out I was leaving to go overseas for my company. I went in and ask if I could cut the contract but they stated I would have to pay the full year. I asked if they had a holding/freeze option, and they did. So I asked them to freeze my membership until I could come back. (Mind you with this option, you still pay a fee) I was gone no longer than a few weeks when I found I was pregnant. So I came back to Atlanta to prepare. I knew I had atleast three months before my holding period was up so I figured I had enough T time to get through the tough (sick parts) of pregnancy, then perhaps I would feel better and would be able to use my membership! Well that day never came. I became very ill and lost over 20 lbs due to the fact we were expecting twins. So naturally I was put on bed rest. I called the gym and explained my situation. Again, was told I could only freeze my account and then it would automatically go back to full payments after 3 months. There was zero way to cancel without being out all this money. I now have paid for a full year of a membership, and then some, for a gym I set foot in probably 10 times. Is World Gym so hard up for money that they cant make a judgement call on specific situations such as mine? Like I said, love this gym. Just wished out of all the $$ I spent I could have used it.

One of the best gyms Ive been in. While it does come at a heavy price tag everything is clean and in great shape. The staff is friendly and helpful, the classes are amazing, and the cardio/theater room is very well done. The biggest gripe I have is that with the 45 dollars a month they do not have wifi. This is pretty unacceptable at this day and age especially with that price tag.Edit: They finally rolled in WiFi. Updated the rating.

Poor customer service. They dont go out of their way to help customers and really just want your money. Watch out for the 30 day cancelation fee too- they arent forgiving at all. I wont be recommending this place.

Simply put...You get what you pay for.Membership is ~$45, but its soooo worth it! Ive been a member since April 13.I have only been in the gym at 6-7am and 8-11pm on weekdays and all times on weekends. They do get pretty busy on Saturday/Sunday around 8-10am. Even in their busy times, Ive never had to wait to use a piece of equipment.Here are the things I really love about this gym, besides the friendly staff and clean atmosphere:- Cardio Theater (stationary bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, and BIG OLE FANS!)- Plenty of dumbbells (weights as low as 2lbs and as high as 150?)- Quality equipment (Hammer Strength, Life Fitness)- Awesome classes with really motivated instructors- Machines, sometimes 2 of the same machine

I like this place. The clientele are all good respectful people who u wouldnt mind working out around. The place is clean and offers hand wipes and hand sanitizers everywhere you turn. The staff members are courteous but maybe not so much friendly. They have an amazing movie room for all of u cardio people, and a pretty decent free weight room for the men. The only complaint i could think of are the 2 year contract policy and the high monthly fees. But if u could afford it, then its worth it.

Absolutely love this gym! After being a former member and moving away, I was unhappy with the gym I joined. Im back and happy to be back home.

I called in the morning to get prices on memberships but they said you have to come in to speak with a membership specialist (cheesey sales gimick). So I made a special trip there that afternoon and they say, sorry the membership specialist wont be back for another 30 mins. Then proceed to tell me they cant give out that information.Weak..

Absolutely love this gym! It has some many different options for working out! The new equipment in Boxing/Functional Train studio is a great addition. The Battling Ropes are 50 ft and they have an 1 1/2 as well as a 2 for those that want to go hard. There is a new Striking Bag for the Mixed Martial Artists and Maui Thay Bag also. And the new HD projector in the Cardio Movie Theatre is amazing. Great for someone like me that hates cardio because the movies are pretty new and a lot of high adrenaline flicks to make me work harder. The picture really draws you in and they have 45 different pieces of cardio in there!. There is a stand-alone Yoga studio where use Eucalyptus oils that make it smell amazing and really relaxes you even if you are just going in there just to stretch out. The best part is that I never have to wait on any Free Weight equipment no matter what time I show up! 6pm and no line waiting for a bench on Monday is more than worth the price of admission!!! I would definitely recommend this gym to my friends and family!

Horrible Gym.....Showers are not to clean and the contract is horrible....Management is very bad also.....The employees are nice...but the gym experience is bad...
