My boyfriends car broke down halfway into the road and halfway into the side of the road. He was unable to move the vehicle out of the road because his car transmission was stuck in park. He called his insurance who then employed Cook’s towing… That was the absolute worst decision I could have made. He called the insurance at 5:30 they sent a tow truck at 5:30 the tow company did not give us a call until 8 PM. His car was left in the road up until that point and even now at 10 PM as we sit next to the car in my car because they never came and got it. The tow driver never called us after he called one time at 8 PM asking for the location of the vehicle. So I went ahead and gave them a call back to check on an update and he said that metro probably already came and picked it up and that he already went bye and that his car was not there. This was absolutely untrue with a very clear instructions the car was at Dickerson pike and Spring Street at the light. Well I was trying to explain to him the severity of the situation because of the position of my boyfriends car he proceeded to talk over me, talk down to me, and cuss at me. I let him know that cook’s towing would have to be legally responsible for any damage to his vehicle considering the fact that they were the ones responsible for picking it up and because they marked the car as picked up online to his insurance company. Only then did they have someone give us a call and dispatch a new tow truck. Five hours later we are still on the side of the road and nothing has been done. Do not ever use this company it is absolutely unprofessional, unreliable, and disgusting. Any statement about ice or snow Is another bold face lie told by this company. on 2/21/21 the date of the service request it was 52 degrees outside, all ice and snow had melted and roads had been clear for days. We were also able to get another towing company out immediately as soon as we saw that this company lied about and charged our insurance company for the tow. Please see owners grammatically incorrect response as well. Its their not there. Clearly unprofessional and in no position to run a business. Unruly was you when you refused to right your wrongs by dispatching someone to actually tow the car after you charged us for it, and cursing at a customer. Lets see... you lied, you stole, you cursed, and you used improper grammar. Throw the whole company away please.

Cooks Towing? How about Crooks Towing. I was with my friend and her boyfriend when his car broke down. The insurance company ordered this towing company to come get it. Wow what a mistake. Not only did they never come get the car despite very clear directions, they charged his insurance company for the completed tow. WHICH THEY NEVER DID. This is fraud and theft. It gets better. They cussed us out when we called 4 hours after they were supposed to pick up the car wondering why it had still not been picked up. Why they were mad at us for not doing their literal job is a mystery. Needless to say I do not recommend and will be reporting to BBB as well.

If it were up to me, I would have called my own road side assistance, but at the time I didn’t have a choice. This tow service was called by a state trooper due to them following procedure. This was my first time being alone in any type of setting dealing with police, firemen, towing companies, etc. I was on the phone with someone at the time, giving me instructions that contradicted what the towing company gave me. I was told not to give my key to the man until my support came to make sure everything was being handled correctly. The man got an attitude when I told him that I wasn’t sure if I should be giving him my key. Minutes later, instead of respectfully saying, “ma’am, I have no choice but to either drag the car up manually or get the key from you” (if he had have said that, I wouldn’t be writing this review), he said, “you will either give me your key or I’m going to drag it up myself,” very aggressively, talking to me like I was his child. At this point, I was irritated that this man was belittling me and talking to me as if I were not an adult. As soon as my father came to make sure everything was being done okay, the man straightened up and acted like he had sense. Maybe talking to women disrespectfully makes him feel more masculine, but the way he straightened his tone when my dad came was humorous. He felt like he had power, while I was alone and ignorant to the situation. That’s not okay, not professional and I hope no other woman has to feel belittled when they deal with this company.

If I could give Matthew and Austin 10 stars I would. Seriously, they went above and beyond for us out of the kindness of their hearts. Its rare to meet individuals as selfless as these two men. I will forever remember them for their kindness. They deserve raises and all the praise. Cooks is so lucky to have these two gems on their team.

Driver Austin did a great job towing my broken van. He was on time, curious, great customer service. He also had a great attitude for rush hour (their busy time). Tow truck was clean inside and out and looked like he took pride in the appearance of his rig.Highly recommend.

I was on the on ramp to get on I24 yesterday and actually had to swerve over to avoid someone trying to merge on the on ramp at the same time. I went off the road some and ended up popping my tire. I was able to make it down to actual side of the interstate where I began the process of taking the tire off and putting on the spare I had in my trunk. Before I was able to even get my tools set up an amazing individual named Russel that works for Cooks Towing & Recovery just happened to be close enough to bring a jack and a drill to get my tire changed in literally 5 minutes. It felt like a Nascar pit crew member just happened to be in my immediate proximity. He said, dont worry about it man this is free I just want to help you get on your way. Needless to say this saved me time, money and a lot of potential headaches. I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Cooks Towing & Recovery for having employees that are willing to do help people in need like this! With all of the craziness and people thinking there arent any good ones left I want this to serve as a very solid reminder that there are people looking to help all around us. Cant say thank you enough to Russel for taking the time to help me out. I know towing companies are not always used in the most positive situations but I will always remember to call Cooks if I am ever in one of those situations! Thank you again Russel!

I had bought 2 motorcycles that did not run, and after calling about 10 different tow companies I found Cooks Towing. The young man was professional, knew what he was doing, and the price was fair. I really couldnt ask for much more. I would definitely use them again.

Rude and unorganized unprofessional kind of people who work here. That arnt to friendly when i can to get my things out of my car as if u wasnt already having it hard enough since I knew i wasnt able to get my car only after 4 days of being there. I came righy before closing (the only ride i could get to bring me) and to get all my things and thr man was hesitant to letting me get my stuff then rushed me cause he had somewhwre to be that Friday evening and just all the way around smart with his comments back to answer any questions i had asked of him. I dont recommend them at all

1st the place is very hidden. You can barely see the sign so if its tour first time going there you might pass it on the 1st time. Clerk is actually really nice, but man the charge fee for anything it is outrageous! One day..... ONE DAY $220 . Now thats a good ripp off right there!

Highly recommend cooks. Dont bother calling around. Understand that most often you get what you pay for and if youre an understanding appreciative person people will work with you but also understand there are fees and such they must pay too. As a business owner who travels, in my vehicle, non stop 6 days a week I respect the hard work these gentlemen put in that include long shifts and constant driving. I have had many cars towed before but never have I needed one towed far from where it sat. I was very scared to have my car towed an HR away. This company from the many I called made sure everything would be great and extremely easy on us. They came on time and dropped off with no trouble. If there was a minus star rating this is what this company would get from me because thats the kind of service they gave to me. After dropping mtly son off at day care I came out the find that my car would not start. I contacted cooks towing service and was told that if they could jump my car off, they would otherwise they would tow it for me. When they arrived they attached my voltage box to a machine, Im assuming to charge it. I informed the man I knew very little about cars and he assured me I was in good hands. That didnt work so I was charged $75 for them to tow my car. I later had a friend meet me where I was going to buy another battery and he jump started my car on the first try. I contacted Cooks after I finally arrived at work to voice my concerns and the guy hung up on me. Think I will contact the business owner at this point!

My dad had an accident and from the time I called 911 to the time the driver had completed it was 45 minutes. He was quick, very friendly, courteous and professional. We weren’t sure how he was going to get my dads car on his truck due to it being lodge on an object, but he not only was able to get it dislodged, he did it so my dad was able to drive away. Was quick the first time i used them, the second time i waited all day and when i finally called again, he said he couldnt get it. They could have called and let me know way earlier. Not professional.

They told me one price and when I got there they had added on almost 200 dollars more then the paper says they towed from dollar general but my car was on flat in my job parking lot

Driver very unprofessional waited for over a hour to receive my vehicle after paying fees in his office . After waiting so long I had to go and let him know that the vehicle had to be unloaded forward facing he agreed to do so and once we came to pick up the vehicle he faced the car the opposite way on purpose very bad experience overall with the driver and his company.
