Overall clean. Has basketball, racquet ball, and pool. Big enough but can still get packed.

One of the better LA’s in my opinion- especially with the asset of the pool. The staff members are always really friendly and there’s a good crowd of people who work out there. Definitely has those “homey” vibes. I heard they’re renovating soon too which is great!

Here for a few days from out of state. This LA is all on the first floor but has everything you need. Pool, boxing, basketball, tons of machines. Sauna was clean and hot. Locker room was clean. Been coming around noon and it’s calm and quiet.

Never any motivating music anymore. Very depressing. Please put motivating music on again so we can get better workout.

I have been in other gyms throughout the years. LA fitness has excellent instructors - fromZumba to kick boxing, to yoga, the instructors emit motivation and commitment to teach classes. Having various locations that are accessible prompt consistency in attendance. Lastly, the maintenance and cleanliness are consistent. Thank you LA Fitness

I was a member at Golds in Smithtown for several years and have switched over to LA Fitness recently. I received a free one week pass and met Derrick who showed me around and explained everything. Derrick is a no pressure salesman who does it right. Everything is great so far. Place seems clean, music at a normal volume, well lit and friendly service. Plenty of benches, racks and free weights. Lots of cardio equipment and machines. Place is huge. I’d like to see more members putting their stuff away but that is like that at every gym, unfortunately.

We are open! LA Fitness is following all guidelines to make you feel safe. All members must get a temperature check and wear a mask at all times. All cardio is 6 feet apart. The classes have an 8 foot zone for social distancing. The equipment is being cleaned with an EPA recommended hospital grade disinfectant called Tergocide. Don’t stop your fitness goals, come on down!

Very clean, the people that work here are friendly and helpful.

They started charging me $10 a month during the pandemic just because they opened there doors and I didnt even know. Then I asked them to refund me for all the months they charged me and they could only refund 2 months. When I finally went in to cancel my membership i spoke to some female manager who stated she cant refund the money they just took from my account a few days ago. So which one is it one day you guys can refund and one day you cant I am not using your facility I dont want to catch COVID just give me all my money back!

They allow people to work out with no masks on! i’ve seen it multiple times. no one cleans the machines any time i’ve been there. other la’s are great, this one is horrible, old machines and unfriendly staff.

Great gym. I’ve belonged for many years.Made for the Hardcore body builder, or people that just want to get in shape. Great equipment in good condition. Not worn out or broken machines. They have great workout trainers that know their stuff. For any age group. I’m almost 74 yrs. old. Many folks are older than me, and it’s great to see them getting in shape. Good prices.

The equipment is not in the best shape

Nice place to work out, plenty of machines and amenities. Yoga classes are a great add. But the machines tend to be pretty dirty... dont know if its a reflection of the people who work out there, or the owners. Either way needs fixing.

Its a gym place could be cleaned better. Also could stop letting people sneak in the back door and use the basketball court for free while I pay to use the gym.

Horrible customer service. if you sign up and dont like the gym they will make it impossible to get your money, nobody will return your call. it took me 8 weeks of calling corporate to get my money back, but I am relentless. the gym is over priced for personal training its about $75 bucks for a half hour session, and its rushed. so you get 20-25 min of session for $75 bucks.

This is definitely one of the better LA Fitnesses on Long Island, but its had its days of nastiness in the bathroom. It has your typical rush hour times and I would definitely not recommend going there around these times (5pm to 7pm).

The place is nice, but I am disappointed in the restrooms. Some sinks dont work, no soap in others. Not good during the flu season. The upkeep of the restrooms is very important.

Been a member of LA Fitness on and off for the last decade. I live in Smithtown and work in Garden City so I am constantly going to the different locations on Long Island. The multiple locations makes it extremely convenient for me as I am always in a different place. But hands down the best location is Smithtown. I find the setup is much better than the other locations as well as the equipment. The employees in Smithtown are incredible and always smiling and willing to help. Anytime I’ve had an issue regarding ANYTHING, the team in Smithtown help to resolve it. If you are considering becoming a member by all means go down and see Robyn the clubs General Manager. She will take the absolute best care of you as well as find you the best price possible. Robyn is helpful and honest, not pushy at all. Overall love this location!

Nice gym with great equipment and the monthly dues are a lot cheaper than previous gyms ive joined.

Great place to work out your frustration ir to end a tough day. I truly enjoy the aquatic fit classes.

I would rate 0 stars but i lost .01 of a pound. me lose a lot i weigh 649.99 pounds now. i feel better

One of the better LA Fitnesses on the island, but around the typical rush hour times, it can get pretty packed, especially the basketball court.

With how popular the gym is you shouldnt only have 1 basketball court. Especially in this location where there is almost no other optional place to go due to li weather

Be cautious...they make cancelling a membership very difficult. I had a deeply unpleasant experience with the manager who not only was unable to help me but failed in basic customer service. I have never written such a review but it is warranted. My husband signed me up for a membership unbeknownst to me. I have a schedule that makes it almost impossible for me to ever get to the gym. Thankfully, in NY the law allows you three days to cancel a membership. I called and she refused to cancel unless I came in, DESPITE THE FACT I WASNT THERE WHEN THE MEMBERSHIP WAS PURCHASED. Since I have a 1 year old, a three year old, and a job, coming in to cancel will be a challenge for me. She said if she allowed me to cancel over the phone it would be dangerous--people would cancel other peoples memberships all the time. Really? They would? Thats crazy. Someone better trained in customer service would have either cancelled my membership on the spot and said that they hoped I would consider their gym in the future OR apologized sincerely, communicated that they too thought the policy was unfortunate and illogical, but that in fact they had no control, and then apologized again. Thats what someone in customer service should do. So be aware that all is not well on the administrative side of things at the gym. I will be reporting this to the better business bureau as I believe the in person statute contravenes NYS law in regards to cancelling any purchase within three days.

Super easy cancellation, I am moving to an area where there isnt an La Fitness by the end of next month. After reading the previous reveiw I was nervous about how my experiance would go. First I called a polite girl placed me o hold to speak to a manager, not even a minute later the manager was on the phone giving me two choices on how I could cancel my membership. The first choice is to go online and print out a cancellation form fill it out and mail it in, this was explained as a simple but possibly slow procedure since it had to be mailed out to the corporate office and processed it may not be completed for several days. Option two was to come to the club and verify ownership of the membership with either an Id or barcode pass and the membership would be canceled then and there. I picked option two, went to the home club spent two minutes waiting for the manager to finish helping another person. Within five minutes my cancelation was completed, the manager gave me the option of holding the membership for 10.00 rather then canceling and told me how long I had to rejoin at the same rates I was paying, as well as informed me that I had a month of usage left and could continue to use the gym. She was polite friendly and professional, smiled and encouraged me to continue to use the gym until the term was up. I will be looking to see if any La fitnesses go in near my new home.

Generally clean and quiet

This facility has declined tremendously in all aspects over the last year.

Terrible customer service. Can never get a call back regarding a false charge on my account two months after canceling my membership. No one seems to have any answers. Been waiting to get my money back for two months. Everytime I call I’m told someone will return my call. I have yet to get any returned calls. Go to another gym. LA straight up sucks.

I want to this gym and was Shocked at the Janitorial upkeep of this gym especially in the ladies locker Room I sat in the sonor and watched as a janitor had sticky Brown and black stuff by the drain and was mushing it together to try and push it down the drain it was disgusting their temperature of the sana was extremely hot where no one sat in it I burned my hand opening the door and the fire alarm went off at the same time

You can tell that most all of these people don’t actually workout, or else they wouldn’t be reviewing it for things like temperature.

The guy who answered the phone had a lousy attitude, had me waiting without saying a word, and then hung up on me at the end of our conversation. Poor customer service is the reason for 2 stars.

There are so many short juice heads that are balding at this gym its not even funny. Too many roid heads.

Doors were locked at 1030 when they usually close at 11. Very disappointed as this is the only time I can go.

Basketball court is small and never kept clean, and a lot of exercise machines are always broken.

The douche bag quotient is way higher there than any other L.A. And the staff are elitest snobs and rude.
