Been coming to this place for about 3 years never really had to much of an issues. Recently had a bad O2 sensor for my car bank 1 sensor 2. Was charger $239 for the part. Total cost 434. Found the same sensor on rockauto for $68 dollars. Completely overcharged. Paid will not go back do your research on parts many mechanics love up charging to make extra.

I was visiting from out of town and suddenly my windshield wipers stopped working. They were friendly and the waiting area was nice, as well as the turn around time was standard. However, I picked my car up and that evening when there was a rainstorm, my wipers were making an awful grinding sound. They charged my company for a new wiper transmission and new wiper motor yet I still have to bring my car in again for another repair. I’m not sure they checked to see if it was working after replacing since you can’t miss the sound it makes when the wipers turn on. Very upsetting and an incredible waste of time and money.

Arrived at 730am on Saturday morning and was driving home by 840am. Synthetic oil change, new wipers, tire alignment and air pressure filled. Courteous staff.

I have been bringing my vehicles to Tire Pros in Smithfield for several years. They provide reliable service and repairs at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and helpful. On the couple of occasions where there was an issue, it was quickly and fairly reconciled. Highly recommended.

Melvins seems to be a stand-up shop. Ive never had an issue with him. Theyve always done good work.

Im not usually one to complain, but this experience really stuck out to me. Before a trip, I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. The rotation was of course free of charge because I purchased the tires from Melvins.Upon leaving the lot after the rotation, I noticed a thumping noise from my front right wheel. I did call to let them know about it but assumed the absolute best from the shop. I had my front end gone through my am independent shop to make sure there wasnt something I neglected. The front suspension completely checked out, but they did notify me of an issue with my front tires. A safety issue. The tread separating from the inside most likely. The tires on the front hardly had wear when I put them in the front, so Id say thats a defective product. When I brought this issue to Melvins, they insisted that my suspension is the issue. I called that shop again just to make sure I didnt miss anything, and I didnt. My suspension is tight and not worn to the point where something like this could happen. How I translate this personally, is that they would rather have me in an unsafe vehicle than replace the defective tires. Im truly disappointed as I have had nothing but great experiences leading to this incident.

Rick and staff are fantastic! I have been going for quite a few years for my cars. Snow blower wheel went flat and they fixed that too! Highly recommend!

I came to buy 4 new all-weather tires with a four wheel alignment and originally was going to give 3 stars because I never received any of my tire pressure caps back and I brought my car in at noon to pick up when I got off of work at 5 but when I got there it still wasnt done and I ended up having to wait about 20-30 more minutes but the service was nice and welcoming. Fast forward less than a week later and I was driving back from Christmas vacation when I had to pull over because my tire started bulging and we had to change it with the spare. I called as soon as I got back home because obviously it was a defective tire and they got me back in there right away and had me out within an hour. He didnt even make me come up to the counter again and explained the problem and fixed it. Because of this I wanted to raise my review a star since it was handled so professionally and quickly.

These guys are awesome! Very attentive. They will diagnose your issue and let yo know what they think is the best route to take. Great option if you have been burned by Town Unfair Tire before.

I really want to recommend this place, the staff is friendly, the area is clean and easy to get in and out of, and the service is fast. However, without consent I was charged $17 for a headlight bulb and $15 to install it! I wish someone would have called me because I would have done it myself for $3. It literally takes 2 minutes with my cars easy assess to the bulbs assembly. For this reason, I can not recommend this company. Any company that clearly takes advantage of the customer without their consent and over charges you for parts and labor is one not worth your service.Update: The owner Melvin personally contacted me and issued a full refund for the part and labor. He was extremely apologetic and truly sorry I was charged for an unauthorized service. Ive changed my rating to reflect this excellent customer care and for truly looking out for their patrons.

Found a leak in the wall of one of my tires: looked up places near me that could fix it and found Melvins. They were able to order the exact same tire and put it on for me in just 2 days time. Excellent service both times I was there. Will definitely keep them in mind if I have car issues again!

I had an unexpected emergency visit to Melvin’s in Smithfield today when my tire burst on the highway as I was passing through Rhode Island. This is obviously never a good situation but I’m grateful that it at least happened near Melvin’s - they went out of their way to help me put the spare on and everyone I interacted with was unbelievably kind. I would recommend this place to everyone in the area. I’m so thankful to have had such a fantastic experience with them. They really saved me today.

I have been there for oil changes and tires. They do a thorough review of your car when they do the oil change included in the price. The tire prices are good and the work they have done is very good. Itrust them. They give a good price without trying to sell things you dont need. I would schedule an appt. It is possible you can get in at a time that works for you.

Was able to plan my day accordingly when I got a courtesy call telling me they were running behind. It is nice that my time is respected.Things happen, I understand. As it was I requested my truck by 2pm. It was ready at 2:20.. Very pleasant people. Ive taken 3 other vehicles there for tires !

I was very pleased with Melvin tire pros. They were very professional. 5 out of 5

Brought my car in for a slow leak (1 day between fill and flat). No appointment, was out in 45 minutes with a tire seal (I have a 14 year old car and I dont know when the tires were last replaced). 3 days later I noticed my tire looked like it was getting flat again. Took about 4 days from full to flat - brought my car back after a week. Once again in and out in less than an hour (30 minutes this time). Was told I had a hole in my tire, and since they couldnt 100% prove it was or was not there when I brought it in previously, they repaired it free of cost. I offered to pay for the labor anyway, and they turned me down. I need to replace my two front tires, and planning on getting them replaced here. I think I found my new local repair shop!

Replaced my tire when I got a pot hole, even put the spare back in the trunk. Offered us a protection plan for 15.00, and boy am I glad we opted for it. 2 months later, hit another pot hole (thanks RI), and we had a new tire on it for free. Service with a smile, quick and clean.

Great job today, they took us in without an appointment on a late Saturday afternoon and since the tire had plenty of tread left they fixed the tire for less than $30. Very pleased and I’m certain we will be back .

Good service but they have a clown or two that are parts changers not mechanics. They throw away fender guards as well. There was no damage or rot on this interior fender guard. All the holders were in place. It was just convenient for the mechanic to take it off to access the area where he was working on and laziness for him not to return it.

Not impressed. Wont be back. Milked me for everything they could. Had a tight timeline, they failed to meet it. Disappointed. Know what you need done before going there.

I went there for an inspection. They were very nice and professional. Had me in and out. The waiting room was comfortable. Would reccomend to others and would go back.

Terrible! - had an oil change - they overfilled the engine by 5 quarts - after drain and refill by a competent service center the car still burns oil and drips on my new garage floor. The worst part, management wouldnt take responsibility for it.Now add insult to injury, the Owners Response is nothing but lies - the only thing upper management did was hang up on me when I tried to explain what they did wrong!

Fast and friendly service.

Customer service is good. But they have some real hacks in the garage. They do work in the front and throw away your inner wheel well guards instead of putting them back on. Did it to me, did it to my friends truck as well. This ends up trashing your engine bay with water and dirt. Too much time condemning parts instead of servicing whats there.

Very professional and do good work. Had rear brakes muffler and catalytic replaced but the muffler sounded louder than it should, i brought it back in and they swapped it for another unit at no cost. New unit is much quieter and my car runs great

Worst place to take your vehicle. Couldnt get alignment right and still charged me. Brought it elsewhere, got the alignment perfect; and paperwork to prove it... just recently brought my car there for an inspection and they tried to charge me a ridiculous amount of money for something that was un needed.... not to memtnion, everyones piss poor attitude ALL the time... learn to smile people! STAY FAR AWAY from this place.

They were really great with fixing my tire. They were able to repair it and didnt try to force me to buy a brand new tire.

I went to the location in north smith-field RI last weekend and they were super nice, bought 6 tires for my truck but i wasnt happy a day later and with some discussion, they are helping me get some bigger tires to replace what I bought . Ive always been a town fair tire customer because they will meet or beat any price BUT since tire pros helped me out and they were just a little bit more in price BUT The service was 100% and Gary the sales rep was very helpful and understanding, I am now FULL TIME tire pros customer . So i own a 2004 bmw with high performance wheels and brakes, i went to tire rpos in smithfield ri for some new all weather tires for the winter a few weeks ago (that was my first mistake)now i am outside the bay watching the kid work on my car he does the tire balances them then puts them on the car.Now i do not know really anything about cars but i do know that your not supposed to tightne them down with all your might he proceeds to use his impact gun and i thought they were going to brake he was hitting them so hardnow the car is on the ground and i see him with a 3 foot bar shaking my car tighting the lugnuts i was mortified.now i go and pay for this service and tell the cashier rick upfront what happened he proceeds to tell me that that is how is supposed to be done (yeah right)so i take my car on the highway and i have a nasty vibration at 70 mph and when i hit the brakes the wheel basically shook out of my handi then took my car to the bmw dealer i found that i had 2 bent rims and all four rotors where warped so i had to drop about 2k for the damages they did to my cari didnt take it back to them becuase the service i got first time i dont even want them to walk next to my cars no thank youBUYER BEWARE AND IF YOU DO GO THERE ASK FOR THEM TO USE A TORQUE WRENCH
