Both Jeff and Fritz were fantastic! They quickly identified the perfect piano for me in my price range. It sounds great and I look forward to having it in my apartment. I’m delighted to have worked with them and I look forward to playing. My sincerest thanks to them.
Ive just completed a lengthy and euphoric review of my experience with Jeff and his wonderful piano business, but it ended up on Yelp. It reflects my complete and total satisfaction with the entire business and I hope it reaches enough readers to benefit this fabulous store.Les M.
I had a great experience purchasing a piano from Grand Piano Haus! Jeff was very helpful, answering all of my many questions, and definitely pointed me in the right direction. He really helped me get the most value for my money. I have a very happy son with a new piano that sounds great. Delivery was also quick and easy. I highly recommend them.
Jeff and Fritz were great to work with and made my piano selection and purchasing experience exceptional. They were very accommodating and thorough in explaining differences in the instruments, their design, components and manufacturing processes. Would recommend anyone to not buy any instrument without talking to Jeff and Fritz first.
I so appreciated the opportunity to play so many wonderful instruments in the showroom, and as choosing a piano is such a subjective experience, it helps so much to be able to compare them in one room, within a short amount of time. Jeff and Fritz gave me the space and time to let the piano choose me. No pressure. I chose a great piano and am VERY happy - with the piano - and with GPHs service and knowledge!
I love the service provided without pressure to buy. The prices and quality of the pianos were so great that I didnt have to go shop elsewhere. I highly recommend this place to all who are serious about buying. Im very happy with my purchase.
After browsing multiple piano stores in the north shore area, I honestly have to say that nothing compares to Grand Piano Haus. I had a very good experience buying a grand piano from Grand Piano Haus. The customer service was outstanding and Jeff was very helpful in informing us which piano was best for our price range.
We had such a good experience with Grand Piano Haus last Saturday. My son was there for the piano recording and the owner Jeff was very friendly. The recording studio has one of the best pianos in the world with beautiful sounds and we were given plenty time to do the recording. The store carries many high quality pianos. The owner and his father were absolutely great to talk to and they showed us different pianos, gave us the history, and treat each of them as a collection. A really good store and I wish we knew them a year ago when we were looking for a baby grand piano.
So friendly and helpful! I just got a new upright, and before I made my final decision I got a lot of advice and information on the different options I had. Love the new piano!
We purchased a Yamaha Baby Grand like we expected. But the store has a great display of pianos of all types across all price points. Jeff was easy to work with and provides excellent service and support. Highly recommended .
An enjoyable experience. A large variety of pianos to play and test. No limit on the time you have to play. A very nice experience dealing with Jeff, a friendly, knowledgeable and low key salesman. I am very happy with The Baldwin I purchased and the delivery and service it has received.Elizabeth
I recently purchased a Yamaha GC1 Trans-Acoustic grand piano from Grand Piano Haus and can’t say enough good things about my experience from end to end. For starters, anybody with any level of interest in the piano couldn’t help but be blown away just walking through the front door of the store - the amount of high end inventory from the most exclusive brand names is staggering. Jeff, the owner of the store, is beyond knowledgeable about every aspect of these amazing instruments. He clearly loves pianos and is very happy to discuss everything from sound quality to manufacturing techniques and everything in between. Despite the huge price tags on some of the highest end instruments ($200k+), he was very encouraging about my trying them out and invested a lot of time in helping determine which features and sound elements were most important to my search. Obviously buying a grand piano is a major purchase and involved several return visits to the store with a lot of research in between. I never felt pressured, but always got the information and attention I wanted throughout the process. When it came to the financial aspect of this purchase, Jeff was accommodating and able to offer a variety of different options for getting the deal done… in the end, I was pleased with both of the price and the terms of the sale. Delivery went without a hitch, and everything has been working perfectly since my new piano arrived several weeks ago… what more can you ask for? The entire process was very smooth and every step of the way I was confident I was dealing with an old world professional who took great personal interest and care in my purchase. I highly recommend Grand Piano Haus for anyone in the market for a piano of any kind!
I am long time client of Piano House and they have provided exceptional customer service throughout the years. This past weekend I needed assistance in replacing a board in my LX Performance system. Jeff spent over three hours guiding me through disassembling and reassembling my piano over FaceRime, his patience and guidance were incredible and resulted in a very complex system being fixed perfectly. Bravo!
This is a long overdue post - these guys know pianos. I bought a Yamaha Hybrid NU1X with them a few weeks ago. The father and son pair were attentive, answered all my questions (even the esoteric, technical ones), and offered a good price. I never felt pressured to buy; when I wanted to play on other pianos (upright, grand, and digital) for comparison, they let me wander throughout the store and play to my hearts content. I was there on a Saturday afternoon, and it wasnt crowded, so I received as much (and as little) service as I needed/wanted.
Fritz is awesome. My husband search some piano stores online, finally we chose here. Fritz was really patient he explained the difference between the pianos. Finally we purchased the Schimmel w-118 with a best price. Really good experience.🤟
Purchasing a piano is not an easy task, especially when you dont know much about pianos. Youre purchasing a piece that will stay in your family for a very long time. So here I am, trying to buy a piano for my son. I know next to nothing about pianos, so I did a few weeks worth of research.Thank God for Jeff and Fritz at the Grand Piano Haus. I must have been there a few times: by myself, with my son, with my sons piano teacher. Went back and forth between few pianos. Jeff waited patiently until I changed my mind a few times over a couple of weeks. At the end, I bought a Yamaha CLP 685 at a great price, and we could not be happier. My son practices even more on the new piano :)Jeff and Fritz are great - take advantage of their knowledge and let them guide you. The store has a great selection of pianos, for all tastes and all levels, you will surely find the exact piano that fits you perfectly.Very pleased with the entire experience.
This is a high quality store, their instruments are well selected and meticulously maintained. Very knowledgeable and great customer service. We purchased a baby grand piano, they took care of all our needs to make sure that we are getting the best product possible. Our technician who went to inspect the piano was also very impressed with the high standards of the store.
Family owned business, friendly and knowledgeable. The store was also quiet enough that I could try different pianos and really hear the differences.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We drove all the way to their store after speaking to someone on the phone who told us to come over so we could look at pianos and they can give us a good deal. When we got there we had to wait which was fine. But when the store personnel spoke to us he basically told us that if we aren’t buying today he doesn’t want to talk to us. I told him I had to know pricing ( and measurements) before buying because we are canvassing against another store. We drove all the way and made arrangements from our busy weekend only to have this type of treatment! We were also told that unless the store closes he can’t give us a good deal (at this point mind you there’s not even a specific price being discussed). If you’re looking for pianos, go somewhere else. The other store in Michigan Ave (Pianoforte) which I thought would be snotty had given us a very positive experience, quite the opposite of what we had to deal w at this store. They also had better pricing(brand new pianos). Meanwhile, the sales guy from this place kept saying if we aren’t serious with buying, just come back and he’ll deal with us later. We are serious and I don’t understand why I had to point that out multiple times! I am a customer regardless! What a shame.. I am definitely buying from the other store!
If u like pianos then this place is heaven
Great experience from beginning to end working with Jeff at Grand Piano Haus. We were looking for a Clavinova which we had a hard time finding someone that even had one on the floor to look at. Everyone there was very helpful and answered all of our questions. We ordered one with the hopes that we would have it in time for Xmas this year. With shipping it from out of state and being the holidays it was going to be close. Jeff did a great job keeping me informed of the delivery along the way. When a delivery crew didnt appear to be available due to the sheer volume during the holidays Jeff and his father personally delivered the piano and set it up for us December 22nd. We really appreciated all of the communication and going the extra mile for us to help make the holiday so special this year. The piano was a big surprise for family visiting this year and it sounded great. Thanks again guys!
I love this family-owned piano store. They have a small but poignant selection of piano sheet music, a beautiful showroom with a range of models, and the gentlemen who run the place are father and son. On top of that they are respectful, kind, and professional. Im so happy Grand Piano Haus is around! You should go.
Amazing Piano shop, Jeff is both a great salesman as well as a skilled piano technician, he really knows the trade. I received the best price possible for a Yamaha NU1X and was still offered the best customer service. Jeff will tune and calibrate every piano before it is delivered, all in all I highly recommend Grand Piano Haus.
I bought an Yamaha Avantgrand N3X last month. The father and son owners were courteous, unpretentious, and gave me a shockingly low price. Delivery went smoothly and they were able to list my old piano on consignment. Wonderful experience.
Ive recently purchased Yamaha CLP-665GP from Grand Piano Haus, Fritz and Jeff were both participants in the sale. I new exactly what I wanted before coming there hence for me, negotiating the price was most relevant. After shopping around and learning about the piano market, I was pleasantly surprised at how forward the owners were about their marketing pricing strategy, I loved it. The price we agreed upon was truly highly competitive, I was pleased. Mr. Fritz is the sweetest gentleman from an old country who well remembers and exemplifies how things should be done in sales, just loved him. Jeff is easy going, helpful and followed up when he said he would, I appreciated it. I would recommend Grand Piano Haus as a place on your stop to purchase your instrument. Thank you.
There are many good German produced or German designed high quality pianos in this place, like Shimmel and Ritamuller. Jeff is really professional, nice, patient and friendly to us. We had a very good and comfortable experience here, and we will difinitely recommend this place to our friends.
The owner is very patient and professional. He saved us thousands on our family piano.
Im pleased to highly recommend Jason Bruno at the Grand Piano Haus for his approach to piano sales. What sets him apart from renown competitors (especially in west suburban Chicago) is that he keeps the customers best interest in mind at all times. With Jason, this begins and has a great deal to do with asking the customers the right questions in order to best understand their needs--even if, like me, the customer isnt completely sure of what hes looking for. I appreciated his thorough, no-stone-unturned approach to discovering what it was I liked and didnt like, and needed and didnt need in a piano. Lesser salesmen will point customers towards their favorite pianos, the costliest ones, or the ones taking up the most precious floorspace; Jason, rather, did his best to set up meaningful, immediate comparisons in his shop between Yamaha models Id find most appropriate. The shops range of pianos seems to skew towards the higher end, and the pianos are in tune and well-kept. When it comes time to purchase or replace your piano (and that time will inevitably come), I urge you to consider visiting Jason at the GPH to learn, discover, and experience a wide selection of pianos.
I recently purchased a brand new Yamaha C7X Mini Concert grand piano from Grand Piano Haus in Skokie, Illinois. I feel I was extremely well treated and respected by both father and son owners, Fritz and Jeff Tasch. They were serious, direct and helpful. I never felt intimidated. I never felt that “hard” sell feeling. I wasn’t buying a car; I was shopping for a fine instrument. Both gentlemen respected that.I purchased this piano about five weeks ago and it is still in their show room. Why, you may ask?In ’92 I purchased a new high end piano from a now out of business piano store. The piano had the most amazing beautiful sound. It would raise goosebumps on my arms often. Unfortunately, the life went out of it a few years ago. I tried my hardest to save it. Over the past three years, I sought the help of two very “qualified” technicians. They were both good at giving me hope. They were both excellent at taking almost a year each to “solve” the issue. And each year they were both unbelievably excellent at slowly taking my money totaling over $8000. I felt swindled…..shame on me for letting that happen. I take FULL responsibility.I then decided that I wanted a new piano. For over 20 years I had always wanted the Yamaha C7. Now was the time.I was at the end of my rope when I went to see Fritz and Jeff Tasch at Grand Piano Haus. They quietly focused and listened intently to my story. They heard me. The most admirable quality of both of these two gentlemen is that their professionalism is based upon understanding, empathy and most of all caring. They are both reasonable people and they each made a strong concerted effort to fit someone like myself, with somewhat limited finances, into the piano that I truly wanted. So, why after more than a month, is this beautiful amazing instrument still not in my home?Jeff Tasch is an amazing piano technician. He has spent years working on pianos. I truly believe that he could fix anything. He is that good. I worked professionally as a pianist for almost 40 years. I’ve never known a technician at the caliber of Jeff Tasch.Every new piano at Grand Piano Haus has to be prepped before it is delivered. This requires several checks and adjustments. For many years I have researched becoming a piano tuner technician. Now that I am retired I have become quite serious about it.I asked Jeff if it would be alright to just come and observe him prepping my piano. He was so amazed that a customer would make such a request that he enthusiastically said of course, absolutely, c’mon over!! This began a friendship which I hope to maintain with Jeff (and Fritz) for the rest of my life.Jeff has sat with me for hours, for days, over weeks, showing me first how to do the initial critical step called “key bedding”. This ensures that the piano keyboard does not vibrate and is well seated inside the piano. Without doing this step, it is useless to continue with the pianos regulation and tuning. Neither of the “qualified” techs that worked on my piano even touched upon this crucial part of deciphering my pianos issue. After key bedding Jeff continued by showing me every step necessary to regulate the pianos action. Jeff is so entrenched in the working of pianos that among many other learning endeavors, he has attended piano technician courses at Yamaha Piano Corporation in Japan. Anytime you walk into Grand Piano Haus, you will most likely hear Jeff working on one of the many pianos. He is always discovering. All the pianos in the store sound great.Jeff has spent so much time “after the sale” with me… and he is busy…. but he cares. I am so very thankful for this “gift” from Jeff. You can see how he has learned so much from his father, Fritz Tasch. The old saying, “like father, like son” truly fits here. What other dealership would do this? Find just one…..To Fritz and Jeff, thank you so very, very much!Dan
Fritz and his son Jeff are simply amazing. Not only do they manage to sell at lowest price by managing the business themselves, but also their love for pianos and music and customers is unparalleled. Very efficient in helping make a selection and then delivering in very short time. We bought a yamaha clavinova for our daughter. Their price was few hundred dollars lower than market. I personally interacted with both of them at their impressive Skokie showroom and the piano was ready even before full payment was made. Thanks for refreshing experience!
I dont understand why some people are not satisfied with Fritz and Jeff. I have bought a Yamaha GC1 from them recently and I am very happy with my purchase. I have done some homework before and I know they gave customers very good price. Jeff asked me to test play the piano and did the necessary adjustment according to my requirements, even though they have already received my payment in full. The piano has been delivered in a very professional way and Jeff handled the delivery in person on the scheduled days. Good price, good service, and polite manner, what else a customer can expect? By the way, they are not like car salesperson at all. They are the owners and they do not push customers to buy expensive pianos.
Jeff was helping us buy a baby Grand for our 5 year old daughter. What I appreciate from Jeff is the fact that he wasnt like car salesmen that pushes customers to buy more expensive options. He basically left it all to us to figure it out by ourselves. Since we dont know much about pianos, he offered to play songs in two different pianos back and forth. We got in the door 40 minutes before the door was closed and Jeff was still patient enough to guide us through all details of the purchase without rushing anything. We went to a few Yamaha Piano dealers before we set foot in his store so we know what are looking for Yamaha C1X and the price that others were able to quote us. Jeff was above to give us the best price without sacrificing in any way the service that he offered to us. Truly a must-see if you are thinking about buying a new Yamaha.
Play a German piano there please
Great piano shop
Excellent
