I brought my son here to be evaluated by Pat for a second opinion on him needing a helmet after going to Cranial Technologies. Cranial Technologies said my son needed a helmet because his ears were uneven and had a slight flat spot on his head. Pat played with my son and did measurements of his head. She did not recommend a helmet, just more tummy time! I then took my son to a pediatric surgeon, Dr. Vicari who also did not recommend a helmet. Pat was right. She obviously has a lot of experience with her OT background and she is an Orthotist. I was extremely appreciative of her taking the time to evaluate my son. She was honest with me and gave me piece of mind.
Naylani has been seeing Patricia for her flat head. She has been patient and kind since day one! I love how she takes her time explaining things and we don’t feel rushed. She makes my daughter feel comfortable and Naylani is all smiles in there! Even when it was her first time wearing her adorable butterfly helmet! I definitely see results and highly recommend her!
If I could give Pat more than 5 stars, I would! We noticed a flat spot forming on the back of our daughters head and brought it up to her pediatrician. At her 4 month checkup, our pediatrician referred us to Lurie for an evaluation and also recommended physical therapy. Unfortunately, when I went to make the appointment at Luries, there wasnt any availability for over 6 weeks. With plagiocephaly, time is of the essence to correct the issue. Thankfully, a mutual friend referred me to Pat, and we could not be more grateful!Pat was able to fit us in for an initial evaluation within a few days of my call. Both my husband and I work full-time, so she worked with our schedules to ensure we could get in as soon as possible. From the initial appointment, I knew we were in good hands. My daughter has a severe case of plagiocephaly, and Pat took the time to go over her measurements, explain why she would benefit from a helmet, and provided us with realistic expectations of how long she would be in the helmet. Pat was extremely personable throughout the initial appointment -- and as a first time mom, her demeanor put me at ease.10 days later, we picked up the helmet, and Pat did an excellent job with explaining the process from start to finish at that appointment. She provided us with a packet of information that contained caring for the helmet, tips for keeping baby comfortable, and a schedule for the first few days to wean in the helmet. Pat made sure I was comfortable putting on/taking off the helmet and also gave us a cleaning kit to use each day.My daughter has been in her helmet only for a week, but we have already seen a 30% improvement in her asymmetry. We are absolutely thrilled with the results and are looking forward to seeing all of her progress throughout the course of treatment. We are so thankful for Pat and cannot recommend her enough! If you are in need of an evaluation for plagiocephaly, Chicago Pediatric Orthotics is the place to go.**UPDATED**We recently had my daughters final appointment with Pat, and her head shape has FAR exceeded all expectations! When we first visited Pat, my daughter was on the severe spectrum, and after just over 9 weeks in her helmet, my daughter is now within normal limits. The difference is incredible! From day one, Pat emphasized the importance of being in the helmet for 23 hours a day and reassured us that our daughter was not uncomfortable, was not overheating, etc. We stuck to Pats recommendations and were also diligent with cleaning the helmet daily (thanks to the convenient cleaning kit Pat provided!) Seeing the progress firsthand at each follow-up appointment, coupled with Pats encouragement, made it so easy to comply with her instructions. Pat was truly the best to work with, and we will miss seeing her every other week!
We absolutely love Patricia! We were recommended to her by our doctor when we decided to get our daughter a helmet to treat her plagiocephaly. You can tell that Patricia absolutely loves what she does and is very knowledgeable about all things orthotics. She put our minds at ease when we had concerns that our daughter would have a hard time adjusting to the helmet, but fortunately she is totally unfazed by it. Im sure this is in part because Patricia makes all of our appointments so fun and easy. We can not say enough good things about Chicago Pediatric Orthotics!
We had such an amazing experience with Pat! Our sitter recommended Pat for our daughters helmet and I am so grateful to have found her. She is very professional, flexible, honest and easy to work with.Pat was so easy to work with and she was always easy to reach if there was a question. Our daughter loved her. I would highly recommend going to see Pat!
I am so grateful we went to see Patricia for her option on getting my 7 month hold a helmet. I originally went to Cranial Technologies because I noticed my sons head was looking a little flat. They said that he absolutely needed a helmet. However, I left my consult feeling very uncomfortable and that they were trying to sell me the helmet. They had tons of marketing material and were really pushing me on why he needed it. The next day after I left, I received an email from the company on my experience and one of the questions was Did you find your consultation to be Salesy That was a HUGE red flag for me. Patrica was SO accommodating (I was 15 min late to our appointment) and I know she saw me when it was doing her lunch hour. She was honest in saying that he was absolutely fine and didnt need a helmet. She was so kind and didnt even charge me for her time (she spent at least 30 min with us). I value her expertise and of course her honestly. You are in good hands if you go to see her....you can trust that she will do whatever is best for your child.
I have known Pat for nearly ten years and honored to know her as a colleague and friend. She has been a voice in cranial remolding treatment and occupational therapy. Pat genuinely cares for her patients and provides a service that is beyond office hours. We would do anything for our children and Pat would treat yours like her own.
I had the privilege of getting trained by Pat early in my career and now she has been a great resource as a colleague. She has taught me excellent clinical care and bed side manner. Her patients are lucky to be treated by her.
Pat is amazing!! My daughter has scoliosis and we were waiting weeks to get approved and fitted for a brace through a different provider. We found PR Orthotics through a nurse recommendation and am so glad we did! She got us right in and has the best bedside manner, especially with my 9 year old. She took time to answer all my questions, and even invited us to a support group she started with other girls my daughters age. Pat truly cares about her patients and as a mom that means so much to me.
Pat was AMAZING! My son had a pretty severe need for a helmet & she was truly fantastic to work with. It was such a personal experience & my son loved her to boot! If our future children need helmets, she will def be our top choice!
Pat is great! She creates a welcoming a supporting experience, and her orthotics helped me tremendously.
Pat is the best. She is so professional and has just the right touch with my and my 13 year old daughter. She is so accommodating and has such a wonderful demeanor. I cant recommend her enough.
We had a great experience with Pat. She was extremely professional and cared a lot about our baby during our experience with him having a helmet. Her flexibility in scheduling made it possible for us to do this. We would highly recommend her to anyone and were extremely satisfied with the quick results!
Pat was absolutely amazing, I couldn’t be more thankful that she was honest and broke down the results of his scan to prove he didn’t need a helmet. She evaluated him throughly and gave us tips on how to better correct his Torticollis, which was causing a side of his head to become a bit flat. She was genuine in her feedback and it was clear that she wouldn’t recommend something for a child unless the child actually needed it. Our physical therapist had recommended another company, but after reading several reviews on that specific company and how most children were recommended a helmet regardless if they were considered a mild case, I knew I wanted someone with more experience to give us a true diagnosis, vice being seen by someone who just took pictures without a full assessment. Her 20+ years of experience put our mind at ease when she evaluated my son and now we scheduled to come back in the month to be evaluated again.
Really appreciate how honest and caring this place is. Highly recommend getting a free scan if there is any question.
Patricia is knowledgeable and professional with many years of experience dedicated in the field of orthotics and management. PR Orthotics provides complimentary scans for the baby head shape and Plagiocephaly. I highly recommend her and PR Orthotics and OT.
I brought my son to here to get custom made orthodics to help treat his tarsal tunnel syndrome. Pat was very professional, helpful, and kind. She was able to suggest the proper orthodics and fit his feet well. Were already seeing improvement. We would recommend Pats services to everyone.
Pat is a skilled and professional practitioner always a smile on her face
