I am a new resident to the area and wanted to do some minor work on our place. Had the pleasure of speaking to Dorian who explained that they specialize if full demo/remodel and design and I might be more interested in a more general handy man. He then proceed to send me a list of recommendations that I should use and that I might find helpful! I called Chi Renovation today about a potential kitchen remodel. I spoke with Anna who I never would have guessed was new! She was super informative about the whole process and handled herself professionally. Unfortunately, the services were out of my price range, but Anna sent over some great referrals that I am reaching out to now! Very refreshing to be offered help even though I wasnt going to work with them.

We loved working with chi Renovation! The design process was easy and working with Ron on the project was great. He was kind, responsive and went above and beyond to make sure the project went smoothly for us. We are planning on redoing our bathrooms next and will definitely be using them again.

I wanted to share my experience working with Chi Renovations. The process was extremely easy and I am completely thrilled with the final product! I worked with Tania to design a fireplace that would fit a tight space. We have a hidden door closet we needed to be mindful of, so she shared a few general designs with me. She then created a custom fireplace surround to fit the space and my design ideas perfectly. Eric, the project manager, was also wonderful to work with – always responded in a timely manner and was eager to resolve any issues. Eric also made some great design suggestions that we did end up implementing into the fireplace surround. The work was completed in a timely manner and workers were careful to clean the space throughout the process. I did have them come back to do a few little touchups that were missed but they quickly resolved any concerns I had. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the end results!

I left a voicemail in the morning and got a call back before it struck noon. I spoke with Dorian who was very helpful, nice, conversational and knew his stuff. They do more full renovations while I just need some tile laid, but he gave me a ball park number and still offered to come out and look at it. Highly recommend starting your search with Chi Renovation & Design.

Dorian took my call when I was inquiring about what types of services our project needed. He took the time to understand our needs and advised us accordingly. His willingness to help and candor were great. Even though we didnt go with them, since we likely just need a general contractor, we would definitely give them a call again for future needs.

CHI Renovation made sure our project was well managed, on time, and executed with attention to detail. I cannot imagine taking on a project of this magnitude without their expertise and project management. Ron, our project manager, oversaw every detail and sub and material shipment...the list goes on. We are so pleased with our new kitchen and first floor - it was a total transformation. Highly recommend!

Tom Tishby who was the Project Manager and led the crew of the Chi Renovation and Design on our project involving complete remodel of our kitchen and the powder room have done an outstanding job. Our kitchen remodel project involved removal of the wall to open up the galley kitchen, this required rerouting of the water pipes and installing new plumbing and wiring system. The crew worked efficiently they were very professional and neat while we were living in the apartment during the construction. The products of their work were outstanding in quality and precision. They met all the deadlines and provided courteous service. Communication was excellent throughout the project. Another important factors is that the crew and Tom Tishby in particular worked really well with our building engineer and manager making sure all the paperwork was an order the use of the service elevator and disposal was done according to building policies. Overall I’m very pleased with Tom Tishby and Chi Renovation and Design and would to continue working with them again on our future remodeling projects.

Most expensive mistake and worst home repair work I have ever had to the tune of $240,000. The project is still unfinished after a year and the project coordinator, Ron Lifshitz ( I spose this is his title) just quit. He was essentially worthless, but somewhat better than the prior coordinator, Tom Tishby. Both kept just pushing me to start the next project so that they can collect money. They had no desire to finish any project or make sure the project was done to your specifications. It was so insulting. Every time you complained, they would claim it was your fault that your items were stolen or that they just sent workers to your house twice a week. This is a hiring company for smaller contractors. They were bullies and threatened to stop sending workers every time I tried to hold them accountable. Ron tried to prevent me from moving back into my home because I asked him to get my bathrooms functioning that they started in August and were fully paid for. They messed my laundry room up completely. I can’t even fit my washer/ dryer, side by side or stacked! Their last shakedown was waiting for $3,000 FOR A BACKSPLASH installation! They were not even installing backsplash or buying the tile. i am getting a stone slab with my countertop and they think they should still get paid. They tried to force me to PAY THEM to install a temporary countertop, for 4,000 so that they get the backsplash payment. They still had not finished painting, bathrooms or anything in the project, but they were trying to squeeze $7,000 more dollars from me before they disappear.Neither Ron Lifshitz or TomTishby are trained designers or contractors. They are just salespeople for Bellmont cabinets, Chi Renovation storage and design services. They are certainly not collaborative. They are very rigid and every small change would push Tom Tishby to the “change work order” board to charge you 3,000+. Never remove anything from the contract, that cost nothing, but additions start at $3,000. About a month before the project started, Tom kept suggesting ideas to keep padding the bill. It took them months to demolish the unit, and once Tom got $30,000 more for changes, 4 months after demo started, they started building poorly. They send laborers that do work the best that they can with no direction or oversight.Chi Renovation quotes you prices that are so egregious that they should include all materials, but they don’t. They damage and steal the materials you buy and then try to con you out of more money to make it right. Then they try to bully you to silence you. Their malfeasance will be investigated.

They are timely, considerate, satisfactory professional. They are very connected with all the retail outlets around town that helped us pick out our quality fixtures and tiles.

From the moment we called Chi Renovation was very professional and accommodating. Lior was our project manager and he worked with us and provided us with many great suggestions as far as where to find finished product and giving us input on design ideas. The crew assigned to our project was first rate. Clean, friendly and always consulting us when there was a question and never getting upset with our many questions and mid project changes. The tile work was perfect! They were a delight and would request them again when we do our other bathrooms. Our only issue was with the installer of our Glass shower door. He was the very last item to finish and he was rather careless and indifferent as to where he was putting his tools and managed to scratch our new sink counter top quite a bit. I mentioned/showed it to Lior and he stated it was unacceptable. in the future I would request another installer for any shower doors we have installed. The end result exceeded our wildest expectations.We look forward to working with Chi Renovation and Design again in the very near future.

We worked with CHI renovations on a major kitchen remodel and we are very happy with the result. To give you an idea of the scope of the project, we had to remove walls, reroute a main water line pipe, completely redo electrical, reroute HVAC, extending a ceiling, building an island, ... basically a complete gut and remodel. The whole process took about three months and the demo with remodeling taking roughly 1 and 1/2 months.We first met up with the kitchen designer Mishneeta Chopra where we were asked to provide examples of kitchens that we really like. We really appreciate Mishneeta coming up with multiple designs that exceeded our expectations because we have not idea what kind of kitchen we wanted. Mishneeta also helped us with material selections and provided suggestions on what goes well with the design.Another huge reason we went with Chi Renovation was that we did not want the hassle of finding, hiring, and managing contractors. Our project manager Gene made sure the process was as smooth as possible. From bringing in the demo crew, plumbers, electricians, carpenter, painter...etc, all of these things were handled by him. I cant imagine how difficult it would have been to have to deal with this stuff ourselves. It was also nice that Gene also inspected the work that was done by contractors and made sure it was done correctly and to our liking.The only minor complaint is we would have liked more communication on contractor scheduling. For example, it would have been nice to get a weekly schedule instead of just a few days notice. It ended up working out well because we worked from home the whole time, but I could maybe see this being a potential issue for those that do not have that option.Overall, we would definitely recommend CHI renovations (and already have to family and friends!). We looked at many other places that could have been a little cheaper but no way it would have been the same quality. You do not want buyers remorse to save a few bucks when doing any extensive remodel.

This was our first renovation and to say we were nervous after hearing stories from family and friends is an understatement. Our master bath was the original bath from 1956 and it showed. Lien our designer could sense our apprehension and walked us through every step of the consultation and design process and helped ease our anxiety. Ron, the PM and our contractor were very communicative and kept us informed of every step of the process. The finished product is beyond our expectations. We now have a modern bathroom that is stylish, efficient and a sanctuary. Well definitely use Chi Renovation and Design again for our next project.

My husband and I worked with CHI Renovations to turn one of our 2nd floor bedrooms into a master bath/closet and we are so glad we did. The bulk of the work was on the bathroom and it turned out so much better than we could have imagined. Our house is older so it was important to keep the aesthetic of our home while putting in a more updated bathroom and our design team was able to help us select the right pieces to make that happen. We cannot speak highly enough about working with our project manager, Gene. The work happened during the height of the pandemic and he made sure all workers had masks and kept us updated on any delays that occurred due to the availability of materials. We hit a few unforeseen bumps (expected to happen with a house 100+ years old) and Gene walked us through each step of the way to figure things out. He was great about making sure our questions were answered and keeping the project on track. Its been a little over 3 months since our project was completed and we are more than happy with the results. Wed happily work with the CHI team again if we decide to do another remodel.

Be warned this is not what you see in the pictures. This is a by-appointment-only design center with basically nothing inside but samples, and a small kitchen set up, in a strip mall. We just drove to Skokie because the of the photos and hours posted on Google, but theres nobody, and hardly anything, here.

We are very pleased with how the basement including bathroom andlaundry turned out. This is doubly true since my sons are now home and taking their classes on lineout of the basement. The space is functioning very well and warm and pleasant to be in. Its been areal godsend to have the extra room at this time. The team was thoughtful regarding the unique needs of our project. They respected our budget. They were professional, punctual and communicative. They addressed any concerns that we had. I would recommend ron and his team very highly

I used Chi Renovation & Design to remodel my guest bathroom, and would highly recommend them to others. I ended up going with them because they were the most punctual, professional, and organized throughout the consultation & estimate process, and I liked that they were a combined design-build firm, so the project manager (in my case, Ron) would see the whole project through from start to finish. Plus, their estimate was in line with others, and they came highly recommended by a co-worker whod recently worked with them.Id intended to do the remodel in June but then had to push the timeline back to the fall, which they were able to accommodate without an issue. Other things I appreciated were that: the team cleaned up the work area at the end of each day, so I never walked into a mess after work, and I pestered Ron with tons of questions and ideas throughout the process, and he was always quick to provide helpful guidance or answers. The project itself (punchlist excluded) took closer to 4 weeks than the 3 originally planned, but Id call that an on-time finish for any contractor.As for the project outcome: the bathroom used to have a tiny (32x32) shower, ugly beige tile that was difficult to clean, and an even uglier glass block window. Im really happy with the improvements!

Customer service was really great! I didnt end up working with this company because Dorian was very upfront and helpful to me about the scope of my project.

I worked with them to remodel two full baths as well as add some built in mudroom storage. Both our designer Julie Hermanson and project manager Eric Bukowski were great...easy to work with and professional throughout the process. Julie’s designs were spot on and the end results were even better than we had imagined. Because we were living out of town during the construction phase of the project, Eric did a good job of keeping us updated on the progress and on any issues that arose. Start to finish the project took a little longer than we would have liked but that was mainly due to Covid restrictions/shipping delays. Overall I would highly recommend Chicago Renovation and Design- streamlined, organized process with beautiful results!

I hired Chi Renovation to do a gut renovation of my master bathroom and they executed my design and vision perfectly. All the contracting work was very well done and the materials were high quality. Some of the coordination and timing could have been improved, but overall it was a successful renovation and I am very happy with the end result.

This is my second review of the Chi Renovation and Design. It speaks volumes that I chose the same company to remodel my master bathroom. It was a very extensive and involved down to the studs kind of remodeling. There was a lot of plumbing, shower and bathtub placement changes, tile work, fixtures to name a few things.To start, Tom Tishbey is amazing to work with. He is strait forward, honest, and very inventive. Tom is excellent in dealing with the HOA and building management. His best feature is his ability to come up with multiple creative and ingenious options to fix the initial plan, when unforeseen obstacles come up, and they always 100% will. Tom gives you a best and worst case scenario, doesn’t make promises he can not keep, is very responsive and communicative. He was able to finish my remodeling project as pandemic and quarantine created extremely difficult conditions. I couldn’t say enough to recommend him.The project itself involved removing all the old tile, huge bathtub, shower, double vanity, toilet and bidet, and partial walls. Shower and bathtub switched places. Floor standing toilet and bidet were replaced by wall mounted. A linen closet was removed to increase the shower size, and a regular door was replaced by a pocket door. Floor to ceiling large format 48x48” porcelain tiles covered all the walls and floors. Free standing tub on pedestal with overhanging chandelier and towel warmer wall rack took the place of the old shower. Wall mounted double vanity, back lit mirrors and light fixtures replaced regular floor standing double vanity with a huge mirror. New shower with three different fixtures and bench, mosaic marble floor, niches with glass shelves, invisible glass panels and door replaced the old bathtub and linen closet. The workers did an amazing job. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Tom was able to understand my vision and bring it into reality. The company is well worth the money they charge. Living in a condo building, one has to be very careful in selecting companies for major remodeling. Tom and Chi Remodeling have done multiple projects in my building alone, all based on their reputation and recommendations of very satisfied customers. I definitely recommend them. We had two different projects with Chi Renovation. They first completed our basement. They did perfect a job finishing the entire basement and bathroom. Tom construction manager kept us up to date with all the different tasks and all the different contractors and were always on time. All work was done cleanly and workmanship was perfect. During construction we had some changes and Tom was always accommodating and incorporated our ideas. Once basement was completed and a year later we decided to add bar area and Chi Renovation was the first on our list. Again they did perfect job designing and building the perfect sports fan bar, making the basement a perfect sports fan basement.

We are thrilled with our kitchen renovation and loved having the design and the contracting all with one company!! Lien was amazing and flexible in suggesting and modifying a design until we got it just right. We were expanding our family and working under a tight timeframe and everyone worked so efficiently to complete the project on time and addressed any questions and concerns we had immediately. Would definitely recommend them.

I had an unfinished space that I wanted completed. I decided to hire Chi Renovation because of their positive online reviews and price for the work. Ron was the project manager, and he and his team did a terrific job completing the work to my expectations and on time. Whenever I had any questions or concerns, he was easy to reach by phone, text, and/or email. The end result was better than we had hoped. We will definitely reach out to them for any future work that we may need.

Ive had countless experiences with fly-by-night contractors who dont really focus on the details. The Chi Renovation and Design team did an outstanding job of walking me through the quoting process, explaining every single line item, why each line item was important to incorporate into the job, and setting expectations of delivery of services. Ive lived in Chicago for 13 years, and these guys take the cake. I hate to use a common phrase here, but its 100% true; if you want it done professionally, this team will get it done!

If you are looking to have a bathroom remodel, we recommend Chi with great enthusiasm. My wife and I interviewed three different bathroom remodeling companies before finally finding the right one. Chi Renovation ultimately had excellent design and superior construction. Nicole was sent out to help us create the vision for our master bathroom. She not only has great design skill, but she has a great eye for style. Throughout the design process, she ensured that the overall look would be one that coordinated with the theme of our home, something that was very important to us. Nicole spent a lot of time gathering materials and presenting them to us in our home. She made it very easy for us and gave us amazing options! The other part of our great experience with Chi was the construction crew. Eric was our foreman and project manager, who established excellent communication with us right from the beginning. Eric always checked in on the progress and never left us hanging. He is very detail oriented and you could just tell that he takes a lot of pride in his work and the work of his crew. We are so pleased with this remodel!

Chi Renovation did an outstanding job on my bathroom remodel.I have a very small bathroom and because of my experience with contractors (all bad) I assumed this job would drag out because it was a small job. That was not the case at all.When Chi Reno came out to do the quote they had great suggestions on what I could do to achieve what I was looking for while also taking a practical approach. The designer worked with me and we came up with a great design. All the while, it was very low pressure. Never did I get the feeling that there was an up sale going on.With regards to the job itself, my only request was that once started, they devote the resources to get the job done in the allotted time. Chi Renovations came through on this wonderfully. The crew was awesome and professional. They finished the job ahead of schedule.Chi Renovation was not the cheapest quote I received but I can’t imagine another company providing better service and results.I would recommend Chi Renovations if you want the job done right.

I hired Chi Renovation to do a gut renovation of my kitchen and guest bathroom and the work turned out great. Their quote came in right at my price range and the company worked with IKEA and Semihandmade unlike other companies I researched. This allowed me to keep costs down but still customize things like cabinet color and configuration. The project took a little longer than I anticipated after some unexpected hurdles with our materials but Ron, my project manager, was extremely responsive and kept the project on track. Im happy with the final product and would definitely work with Chi Renovation again in the future.

Overall a great experience! This is my first major remodeling project and Chi walked me through the entire process. I lived in the house during the work (kitchen and bath gut remodel) and they did their best to accommodate that. Project Manager was very responsive and helpful in choosing materials. Finished quickly and looks great.

The Chi Renovation team was fantastic! The designer (Ryan), the project manager (Eric) and the installer (Derek) - all of them were very responsive, helpful, brought options and ideas for different parts of the projects and did an amazing job in a short time. They even managed to squeeze us in within a tight timeline and finished everything 2 days before the deadline. We LOVE our basement bathroom, as do all our guests! Just finished our master bathroom renovation! I finally got my steam shower!! It turned out amazing. The tile work, double vanity, the sconces. It all turned out so well. The company, Chi Renovation, was great. Throughout the entire process, they walked us through everything. From picking out the fixtures, tiles and paint to the design and layout. And the contractor that was here working was so wonderful. He was polite and very knowledgeable. We always felt comfortable with him in our home. There were some hiccups along the way (as we expected) but everything was resolved quickly and effectively. The project manager was super responsive and always brought things back on track immediately. If you have a project, they are definitely worth checking out.

I called looking for some repair work to be done. Chi wasn’t the proper company for the work I was looking to do, but the customer service rep took several minutes to provide recommendations for companies that may be able to help.This type of customer service is rare now days and appreciated. Extremely satisfied with the job! Had them remodel my kitchen and build an island for cabinetry and counter space.Two things I have to say about this1) First, I had no idea what I wanted. Larry Lambert, my project manager, designed the whole thing for me and presented me with a couple of options. I needed it..other contractors rely on a lot of input from the customer, but this is just not my field. He walked me through a couple of options and he did a great job.2) The timing was superb. After being delayed a ton by a different contractor for a different job (also did a great job), Chi Renovation stuck to their schedule beautifully. They came in over my Christmas break (I am a grad student) and got most of it done by the time I was back in school, even in the cold weather! The subcontractors work quickly too! When they say they will finish the job by a deadline, they will be done.Would absolutely, unequivocally recommend them, and use them again!

We needed to re-model our already finished basement after some other construction ruined what was a pretty nice space. After 3 estimates we chose Chi Renovation and Design. They were professional, thorough, responsive, and helped us design a new and better space. Tom was our initial project manager and gave us great ideas with regard to how we could go about the renovation and stay within our budget.The day-to-day work team was extremely professional, highly accessible, and responsive. They kept the space tidy and were able to complete the project in a reasonable amount of time. They talked us through their progress almost daily and listened to our concerns as they arose.The finished space is great and exactly what we wanted. We noticed a few issues after all the work was done, but Chi Reno was on the spot to address these concerns immediately. It is clear they care about the projects long after jobs are completed.

We moved into our house 4 years ago and knew wed need to renovate our kitchen. It had last been renovated 30 or so years ago and even at that point, the cabinets were simply refaced using new fronts but with the original cabinets from 1960 behind. We interviewed several companies (at least 5-6) and actually almost went with another one, but once we met with the designer from Chi we knew this was the right company to go with.We immediately liked the designer that we worked with. She seemed to get what we wanted and our style right away and she had some great ideas for how to organize a challenging space (we have a very long and narrow kitchen). She made some great choices with reclaimed wood shelves and hardwood floors and made it so that this fit within our budget. Both my husband and I work long hours, and she was very accommodating of our difficult schedules and was good at keeping us on task and making timely decisions.Once we got to the actual construction phase, our project manager was very available and helpful with any concerns we had, or coordinating contractors. The construction got done much more quickly than we anticipated, as we had heard several horror stories from friends and family that these types of projects can drag on endlessly - that didnt happen to us at all, so I guess we chose the right company!Everyone across the board was a joy to work with and really we cant speak highly enough of them. Wed use Chi Renovation again in a heartbeat, and likely will because we have plenty of other rooms to renovate.

After promptly getting back to me on Yelp, I called Julie to talk about my project. As getting a day set up, I shared my location (probably would’ve been a good idea for me to share this first 😆), but Chi did not work in my area. Instead of just sending me on my way, Julie offered to send me a list of referrals & did so as soon as we got off the phone. Unfortunately this was my only “work” with them, but based on this experience I’d recommend!

I recently have my basement installed with new tile floor by this company. I am satisfied with not only the initial estimate but also their finished work. They brought in a couple groups of guys for estimation and discussed with me about some options how to go ahead with the floor installment. We ordered tiles at a tile store by ourselves and their people picked them up without charging any fee. What I was really impressed is that they provided me everything in detail including all the materials and labor involved. I havent found any fee randomly charged. Everything has been detailed exactly on the estimate. Their charge is reasonable and I never have any feeling I have been ripped off. This is probably what customers have been concerned most about. Their guys came every day and started the work pretty early around 7:30 am. They always notified me in advance about a possible early start. There were some thunder storms in the summer right before they started to work on the floor. I found some places in the basement had water seepage. They sealed all those leaking cracks on the foundation. They checked the sump pump and even exterior walls. They found a crack on the exterior wall which was leaking water on raining days. They sealed it without any additional charge. In one word, this company is pretty reliable. If you are hesitant about how to find a reliable company, I would recommend you at least start with an estimate from them.

CHI was great to work with. The CHI team completed my basement from the bare walls and floors into an amazing family room. I met with several companies to bid on my basement remodel, and Jonathan at CHI offered the most comprehensive proposal with the best value as well as great consulting insight into the design and materials. During the remodel, the project manager Dan was professional, responsive, and diligent. He coordinated each detail of the remodel flawlessly, overseeing quality and to make it a stress-free experience from demo to the final walk-through. Id recommend this company highly.

Great remodel done on our bathroom. Replaced old jacuzzi tub with modern, gorgeous rain shower with pebble flooring and sleek grey wall tile. Painted the bathroom too! Work was completed to the schedule we requested and the team was great to work with, especially Eric and Lior. Would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. Thank you!

Chi Renovation did a wonderful job renovating our one-bedroom Streeterville apartment. Everyone we worked with (including Julia, Tom, Ron) was professional, responsive, and attentive to our needs. When we first met with Tom to get an estimate, he suggested design ideas and was very detailed in his approach and really listened to what we were trying to do with the space. Once the project got going, one thing Chi Renovation did that the other contractors we considered did not do was provide a designer to work with us. He was very consultative and helped us realize the design we were looking for -- from cabinets to colors, flooring, hardware -- everything. And Ron was great to work with as the project manager. Always available for my questions, walked me through any issues that required immediate attention. Only a couple of delays that were related to building management and re-ordering cabinets, but everything went smoothly and as designed. I would highly recommend Chi Renovation if youre thinking about any renovation work for your home.

I had been wanting to remodel the kitchen in our condo since we moved in 6 months ago but honestly I lacked the vision & wasnt exactly sure what I wanted. The folks over at chi renovation were very patient with me and really helped me figure out what I was going for.I knew for sure what my budget was and they did an amazing job of giving me the beauty I wanted all while staying within it, which was supremely important for me.Not only that but they were great to work and communicate with. Very professional but also made me feel comfortable and not just like a client. They seemed to really care about what I wanted as much as I did.I would absolutely recommend.

I would give Chi Renovation 5 stars and would definitely use them again for any future work we need. We needed to convert a very large shower stall into a bathtub (the shower tile was in need of replacement so we wanted to put in a jacuzzi tub since we had plenty of space: ~4x6). Also, on the other side of the wall that split our bathroom and the closet in our spare bedroom, we wanted to put in a washer and dryer.Since we were first time homeowners, this was our first major project, so basically, we knew nothing about what we wanted, other than 1.) jacuzzi tub, and 2.) washer and dryer. So, there are a TON of other details that you have to think about! Who knew! Anyway, Chi Renovation walked us through the entire process. They gave us a bid that they stuck to like glue and they guided us on picking out tile, a tub, location of electrical, etc. We worked with Jonathan who made the whole process very easy. The guy who did the work, Eric, was pleasant and kept the place fairly clean (as clean as you can reasonably keep a space that youre doing demo and drywall in) during the process.My husband and I are really busy people who work and travel a lot. And, Chi Renovation was super easy to communicate with the whole time. Jonathan responded to phone calls and emails on the weekends and evenings which was super helpful for us and our schedules.All in all, I felt like they were reasonable in price, professional and courteous and, more than anything, helpful in thinking through our project with us. Would definitely recommend and use again.

My wife and I decided that we wanted to completely remodel our master bathroom and make it more modern and spacious. We engaged 6-8 contractors and bathroom design companies but each and every estimate seemed extremely high for the scope of work. We almost decided to call it quits on the remodel, but then we stumbled upon Chi-Renovation as a referral from a close friend. Not only was the estimate almost half of what some other companies were quoting us for, but in some instances their vision and concept included much more.Once we signed off on the initial estimate and work effort, the process from concept to design to production was easy and pain free. We had Jonathon as our designer and thought he did a fantastic job of really understanding our taste and piecing together a bathroom and layout that was perfect for us. Not only did he listen, but he also conveniently came to us with the tile and counter options so we didnt have to travel to a large showroom and deal with the enormous magnitude of choices and options. The design experience was great and definitely helped us narrow down and make easy choices.After we finished with the design aspect, Daniel was assigned as our project manager and he was our main point of contact for the rest of the way. Not only did he make the planning and construction pain free, he ensured the project moved along quickly so we didnt have to live without our master bathroom for too long. Some of the companies we originally quoted, estimated the project to take 6 weeks whereas it took Chi-Renovation only 2 weeks to complete the work from beginning to end! A lot of this is credited to Daniel and team for appropriately planning and starting the work with a finish date in sight. As the project moved along, Daniel also did a great job of keeping us informed and advising us of any issues that arose. Even though we did not run into any major problems, we were comforted knowing that Daniel cared how we felt about the progress and were confident hed put us as a priority should anything major arise.I would highly recommend Jonathon, Daniel and Chi-Renovation for any future work. Id be very hard pressed to believe there is another company out there that can execute on the design, quality and speed for the cost. It was a great experience for us!

Chi completely renovated my two bedroom condo. Everything except the spare bathroom tile was removed and replaced including all appliances, cabinets, woodwork, installed lighting – everything. They did all the design work and made great recommendations on colors, bathroom design, cabinets, etc. They even installed glass wall sections to completely close off the second bedroom. All of this was completely coordinated by one very dedicated project manager. The end product is exceptional – I am very, very happy with my new home.

We hired Chi Renovation to finish our basement. Framing, drywall, electrical, lighting, and carpeting. Overall it was a really great experience. Our project leader Tom was almost always quick to respond to texts, emails, and phone calls (all 3 which we appreciated). The project length did not exceed Toms estimate, the only delay was caused by an unexpected request that we made. After our framing and drywall was up, we noticed a bowing support beam and asked Toms opinion. He brought out an architect, gave us a price to reenforce the beam, and moved forward with it in a timely manner. The carpenters were courteous, and cleaned the space well before they left. Our expectations for the company we hired was that they would do what they said they would do, and that they would finish the project within the time and budget they estimated. Chi Renovation absolutely met our expectations. I would recommend them to family and friends.

We hired Chi for our complete kitchen remodel and are very happy - the new kitchen looks fabulous and the workmanship is excellent. It was our first time doing inside renovation and Chi was good at hand holding. Larry inspired our trust at first by arriving at our first meeting precisely on time and fully prepared with samples, etc.I must say they never wavered in always being on time and fully prepared.Believe me, nobody likes the mess, dust and inconvenience of a kitchen remodel. But Chi stuck to the schedule, things got done when they were supposed to, and the result is great. That makes it all worth it.

From booking the contractors to making sure that the work was executed with perfection, Ron was on top of it all. I was looking for a place after deciding on Scavolini for my cabinets. I was referred to Chi Renovation from a Scavolini rep.Ron came out to provide me with a quote and I appreciated his offer; throughout the entire process he was a great project manager. He clearly explained every step of the process and what to expect.They knew how to work with the European metric system and worked well alongside the Scavolini team.A very important note, Ron was always in contact with the condo association and kept everyone up to date on the status of the project. Made sure the scheduling worked with the building and met all condo association requirements.I would definitely use Chi Renovation again for future projects.

They didnt service the area where my home is, but they were kind enough to refer me to three other well-respected contractors that do service my area. That is going above and beyond for someone they dont stand to gain a penny from. Thats good business.

I hired Chi Renovation to remodel my master bathroom. It was my first ever home remodel and at first I didnt know where to start. Based on reviews and my first meeting with Jon I decided this was the right company. They worked with my budget, provided me a shopping list of items needed and a budget for how much to spend on each. Jon sent us websites, recommendations and even took us shopping. We simply made selections and he made the arrangements for everything to be purchased, delivered and brought in. The men who did the work were respectful of our home and cleaned up after themselves. We hit a few small glitches along the way (1) wrong shower floor tile installed (2) a mirror broke in transit (3) a tile was back ordered. Jon was always in constant communication and made sure everything that went wrong was fixed. In the end, the work took slightly longer then originally promised because of the back order, but it was very reasonable and the results were great. We love our new bathroom and I would recommend Chi Renovation, Jon in particular, to anyone.

We used Chi Renovations & Design for our Kitchen remodel and was very pleased with the final results. Our designer (Nicole) was able to get us a 3D rendering of our vision during the very beginning of our design phase and it looked awesome! The subsequent design meetings were pleasant and fun. Once construction started, we had a great relationship with our project manager (Eric) and the subcontractors (Ceddo and Rene). We would HIGHLY recommend the subcontractors that we had through Chi Renovation & Design! Throughout production, the contractors were always courteous and on time. They took the design to heart and made sure everything turned out exactly like the drawings from our designer!The only one disappointment we had with our kitchen renovation project was with the cabinet company, Bellmont Cabinets. There is no showroom to see the actual product and their website apparently had wrong information when it comes to material selection. In addition, once we ordered and paid 100% of our cabinets, we had to wait 13 weeks before they arrived when we were promised 6-8 weeks of production. And there was no explanation as to what happened to production.Regardless, now that our kitchen is completed, we are very happy with the end result. We would recommend Chi Renovations & Design for their awesome and professional team! The design fits our lifestyle completely and everybody in the family is enjoying the wonderful space we now have!

My plan was to add a bathroom and bedroom to my basement. A tricky project because of all the piping and the awkward positions of the steam boiler and the washer/dryer. Mishneeta from Chi Renovation had amazing ideas on how to best utilize the space. I loved how she respectfully discussed the options, paid attention to every detail, came up with great suggestions, and tried to save me costs. She patiently explained the planning process to me, followed up and send out her proposals according to the promised timeline. I would have fully trusted this company to work in my absence.Unfortunately I had to cancel the project. But Im hoping to work with Chi Renovations in the future.

Horrible experience with them. Quality was shoddy. They did not deliver what I paid them to do. They hastily completed the renovation so that they could get paid. Fought with me time and time again. I am still having issues with the work they did and wish I had never heard of this outfit.Update: Typical answer from this outfit - we dont know you. You do and i did use you. And you guys we bad and I was constantly scared of you walking away form the job. Not finishing the job. Screwing me over. And you did. And all these safeguards you talk about existing. Well they did not exist and they do not exist. Words need to be backed up by action. You talk a good game. But talk is cheap.

We wanted to remodel our kitchen for several years, but its hard to spend that amount of money to do it. So when our water line to our refrigerator leaked and got under the tile causing them to crack we knew it was time to do it. I began researching companies. After getting several estimates from the top rated companies, we went with Chi Renovations for a few reasons.1. The price was in the low to middle range which we were comfortable with. I didnt want to go with the cheapest and have the work reflect the price and we didnt want to go with the most expensive in case unexpected things came up (which they did).2. They were a local company and each time we called Jonathan (it was many times) he was very responsive and would come to our house to talk at anytime.3. We received beautiful 3D renderings on what the new kitchen would look since we were taking down the wall that leads to the dining room so we could put in a breakfast bar.4. Lastly were the reviews and references they had.After we picked Chi Renovations, the fun started. We got to choose all the things that would go into our new kitchen and immediately realized how overwhelmed we were. Jonathan helped us every step of the way, from picking out the cabinets to coming with us to the tile store and the granite showrooms to the final details of the hardware and faucet.Then the demolition happened. We had heard horror stories that our living area would be covered in dust and that we should go live in a hotel at our parents house until its complete. We were very surprised when they put tarps that completely contained everything. The workers were fantastic. They showed up at 8am every day and got right to work. Around noon they stopped for about 30 minutes to each lunch that they brought with and then got right back to work. Before they left they swept and cleaned up all their tools.As we began tearing things up, we found that the electrical was not up to code. They also recommended replacing the galvanized plumbing while the walls were already removed. Im glad we agreed because as soon they removed the pipe, we could see it was almost totally clogged. We have watched enough renovation shows to know that things always come up which is why we didnt want to go with the highest bid because we would have been over budget. They were very honest and worked with us and village to make sure everything was done properly.The completed kitchen turned out better that we ever imagined and they were right on budget except for the unforeseen items and upgrades that we ended up selecting. I would use Chi Renovations again and I would highly recommend them for any renovation projects.

I had Chi Renovation remodel my master bathroom, and they did a fantastic job. Nicole, the designer on my project, came up with a beautiful concept and was responsive to any changes or comments I had to the design. Eric and his team took care of the construction, and they did a great job. The team showed up every morning promptly at 8 and were often hard at work until 5 or 6 in the evening. There were a few hiccups along the way, but they took care of everything. They even repaired a hole in my kitchen that a plumber had left on another project. The work they did is beautiful, and I would recommend them to anyone.

We just completed our master bathroom renovation with Chi Renovation and were so pleased with the results. So lets start from the beginning:- Why did we choose them? - Yelp helped here in identifying this company with many very good reviews. We were looking for a company that did both design and renovation. My husband and I both work and have two small children. We needed a designer that would do much of the leg work for us and present a few options that we could pick from. The designer was amazing. She just got it!! We shared our vision and she ran with it and was right on with budget. Her estimates were pretty spot on and only went up when we added a few items to be done. She also led the process without any chasing required. The presentations were done over Join me and allowed for meetings without headaches or need for travel.This company waits for all materials to arrive before beginning the renovation. We prefer this as it keeps the work in the home on a condensed timeline without having long periods of waiting for materials to arrive.The construction process began and came with a few minor hitches that as veterans of the process we were prepared for. We find that with this process the communication is always the largest challenge. Our project manager was always responsive to our feedback and directed his team when improvements in the condition of the worksite were needed. The work updates were well timed and the quality was excellent. The design came together beautifully and has increased the function of the space by 150%.We would most definitely recommend this company and feel that their personal touch throughout process was great.

My wife and I are very pleased with the results of our condo renovation and have received compliments about how fabulous it looks. We worked with Stoyan who listened closely to us, had many good suggestions, and was easy to work with. We were especially pleased with his high standards, even when it caused a slight delay in the work after the flooring materials had to be replaced when he found they had malformations. The floor turned out great and harmonize very well with the kitchen cabinets and backsplash.

Chi-Reno did an absolutely amazing job on a total gut rehab of our kitchen. Two walls were removed, opening up the space so you could see the entire living/dining area and even the backyard. The transformation was incredible, moving one of the most important spaces of our home from a 1963 horror show to an elegant 2016 masterpiece. One of the primary objects of the rehab was to get more cabinet space. I’m happy to say we got what we needed and more. We now have a pantry to store bread, chips and cereals, a Lazy Susan for canned and baking goods and plenty of space for our plates and bowls and everything else. Before the job, items were on top of the fridge and countertops and in open view. Now everything has its own place and the countertops are clear for the first time.We had a pleasant experience with our project managers who went the extra mile to make sure everything was to our complete satisfaction. I’d highly recommend checking them out for a remodel project.

We utilized Chi Renovation & Design to add crown molding throughout our condo and to add a tiled backsplash in the kitchen. Being new to Chicago, we were nervious about the possibility of hiring a less-than-reputable company. Our concerns were immediately relieved when we met with Sergio, our designer. He took extra time to address our questions and to ensure that we were comfortable moving forward with the estimate and his plan for completing our project.Even with the need to trouble-shoot a unique shaped window and brick wall for the molding, Sergio and his team were able to complete the project under budget and ahead of time.We have recommended Chi Renovation & Design to friends and co-workers and will utilize them again in the future!

We just had both bathrooms renovated in our 80 year old house and we couldnt be happier with the work Chi Renovation did. We met with the designer a few times and she gave us some great suggestions on tubs, hardware and countertops and even met us at the tile store to pick out tile. Once everything was ordered and delivered, we met with the designer and project manager to discuss timing and how the job would progress. The construction manager pulled the permits and met several times with the Village inspectors to make sure they were satisfied. The bathroom remodeler started the day after New Years and worked non-stop, including several Saturdays. The work was done within a month and everything looks great. All the ancient plumbing and plaster was fixed, he figured out an inventive way to move an old heating duct that was located on a shower wall and really went above and beyond in making sure everything was done right. We would highly recommend Chi Renovation. We just wish we wouldve done this years ago!

Had shopped around before settling on Chi Renovation. I was attracted by their competitive price and existing accolades. I had previously use them for a bathroom design so the transition was seamless. The company enlarged the master bathroom.They installed a dual vanity, replaced floor and fixtures and converted the tub to a walk in shower. The renovation took longer than I had anticipated. Some of the delays were due to scheduling conflict, waiting for municipal inspections and, the weather. One of the features of the project was a skylight. This was a major feature and the last thing to be finished. The skylight illuminated the area that, previously had no natural light. Definitely worth the wait, this part of the reno had to be done when the weather was reasonably hospitable. In all fairness I have to take some responsibility for the delays. The trades men were professional and efficient. My indecisiveness when selecting some of the finishings prolonged the process. Jonathan,the project manager was patient. He offered his vision for the project, made sure I understood and, was on board with everything. He solicited my input throughout the project and addressed all of my concerns.

Even though we had delays from the city, they helped to make up the time by working nights and weekends. I actually had to tell Stoyan to go home on a few occasions! The bathroom is fantastic, and weve gotten a lot of compliments on it. It turned out even better than expected. I plan to use Chi Renovation for future projects, and Ive already recommended them to co-workers and friends.

Chi Renovation remodeled my bathroom, refinished the hardwood floors, and painted all the walls. Im very meticulous and, consequently, I am NOT an easy customer. So, when a job is done with superior quality, I want to acknowledge it and give full credit.BackgroundI live in a 1-bedroom, Gold Coast condo thats about 700 Sq Ft. I hadnt updated it in 10 years and was really ready for change. I decided to refinish the wood floors, paint all the walls, and completely remodel the bathroom. I consulted with and received bids from 3 companies before choosing Chi-Renovation.Superior Advice & DirectionSince I wasnt sure exactly what I wanted to do to the bathroom or the colors I would choose for the walls, I was open to suggestions. The Chi-Renovation Project Manager showed me pictures and asked questions to be better understand my tastes, how I would use the space, and my vision. He then gave me great recommendations regarding color and design elements and did most of the shopping for me. For example: He brought tile, accent options, and wood finishes to my home based on my preferences. He sent photographs of options for the fixtures, toilet, tub, etc. This was incredibly helpful because I dont have a car nor the time to do that kind of running around. I was pleased and impressed with the advice and direction that he gave me. He also met with the chief engineer for my building at the beginning of the project to manage all of the technical stuff. He made the process VERY easy for me.Exceptional CrewI was also impressed with the caliber of their expert craftsmen. The custom vanity and cabinets that they made are absolutely beautiful and fit perfectly despite the awkward constraints of the space. The tilework is like art -- beautiful and flawless. And, the refinished hardwood floors look like new. Perfect! And, they completed everything in just 4 weeks!Why Chi Renovation & Design?TRUST... Before witnessing any of their work in my own space, I chose them because after seeing examples of their work and speaking to them, I trusted that they would do what they said they would do when they said they would do it and that they would do it with integrity (in terms of their professional conduct and the materials they used): On Budget - On Time - Highest Quality.I appreciated having the Project Manager (who also provided wonderful design direction) as a central point of contact for all elements of the project and their entire crew proved worthy of my trust... so much so that I felt comfortable taking a mini out-of-state vacation for the last week of the project while they painted the walls and refinished the floors.The CostI was quoted $12,600 for the work (and that included basic building materials). I paid an additional $4,700 for my custom vanity and cabinets, tempered glass sink, brushed nickel fixtures (for the sink, tub, and shower), and tile. The price was reasonable given my vision for the space, the types design elements that I chose, and the quality of the work.

I hired Chi Renovations to finish my basement. I didnt shop around, but their price seemed reasonable and the reviews were good so I hired them.From the initial estimate, to design, to getting all the necessary approvals, and then the building / finishing process, Chi took charge through the entire process. I was always able to reach the project manager for any questions, I even called him while he was on vacation (by accident) and he responded to my needs. A few issues did come up as is expected in a project this size but everything quickly got addressed.Im extremely satisfied with my finished basement. The workmanship is truly excellent, and every crew (and there were a LOT of crews for this project) that showed up was polite, did good work, and cleaned up after themselves well. I will hire Chi again for future renovations without hesitation.

Originally we received 5 different quotes for our project, which consisted of removing a few walls, all new flooring for about 1600 sq ft, a new kitchen, and all new closet doors. Chi Renovation came in budget-wise right in the middle, but Ron, the project manager was so great, and knowledgeable that we decided to go with them. We didnt have a waterline on the wall with the fridge, and to make this happen our building wanted us to put in soffits, but Ron worked through it with the building as he knew we didnt like that option. We also had a phone line in our kitchen that could not be moved since it feeds the entire tier of our building, this would have meant we would have to cut out a hole for this in our new backsplash, again, Ron figured out a way to rotate this, which meant that we would not have to cut our new backsplash. Like every project you know there will be hiccups, and each time there was a hiccup Ron was there with options on how to fix it, he was very concerned with making us happy no matter how small the issue may have seemed, he made sure to get it taken care of. We are looking forward to getting quotes from Chi Renovation on doing our bathrooms in the near future!

I loved working with Chi Renovation & Design! Our designer was Larry Lambert, and he did a great job. We have a mid-century modern home and updating the kitchen, while still respecting the design of the house was important to us, and Larry understood that. We demolished two major walls, and shifted the entire footprint of the kitchen into the adjacent room. Larry designed our kitchen around a ten-foot island with a waterfall quartz countertop (in one gigantic piece!), and added nice features, like a extra storage, a buffet/bar with wine fridge and roll-away cabinet and hidden spice rack & garbage can. He even built a new lightbox with twelve LED lights to go over the island himself. Wed definitely recommend Chi Renovation & Design and work with Larry again.

Chi Renovation does excellent work they had converted a dark dull bathroom to a great modern & bright bathroom with excellent skill & craftsmanship done by Andy & Tom who are first rate. I recommend this company with these workers for all of your needs for a great looking home,condo,etc

This company promised us a settlement and still refuses to answer emails. Their initial settlement paperwork would have invalidated our insurance but they never followed up. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Because of their faulty installation we had both a shower and a toilet leak into our downstairs neighbors’ unit.

I did a bathroom renovation in Lincoln Park, Chicago and selected Chi Renovation after talking with several designers and contractors. I picked the company because I really clicked with the designer on our initial consultation and felt like not only was she incredibly friendly and organized, but she also really aligned with my vision on the project. From there, things went incredibly smoothly. Granted, we had the whole project designed about four months before we even began it, but everything ran on schedule and the communication was really great, even when I was out of town on business trips. Any time there was a minor tweak or change, I was consulted, and I think the resulting project was even better as a result of those changes. (For instance, I waffled several times on the countertop before settling on a plainer version. Then, the counter came in defective. By that point, most of the bathroom was finished, and my project manager called to see if Id like to switch to a quartz that was in stock or wait on the original one. We realized that a slightly more ornate quartz, which Id actually considered earlier, would look best, and we switched. That quartz was in stock and installed the next day and made the bathroom look even better.) Other than that, we expanded the shower to a frameless glass shower, put in a standalone tub, added new light fixtures and completely retiled the room. All in all, it was a great experience.

We had Chi Renovation update our kitchen last summer including new laminate counter-tops, new sink and disposal, new range hood and vent, new backsplash, and painting. Overall we were quite pleased with the quality and price. We would definitely use Chi Renovation again. One of the reasons that we chose Chi Renovation is that they were one of the few companies that would install laminate counter-tops, which is what we prefer over granite, quartz, etc. In addition, they were willing to work with us to work out a few details that other contractors wanted to avoid or would not take on in our older house, and several contractors were unwilling to work with us because we did not want to do a complete gut and remodel of the kitchen. We just wanted an update, since we did a major remodel about 20 years ago. Chi was willing to work with us.In preparation for the project, we purchased many of the items ourselves (sink, backsplash tiles, range hood, disposal) and Chi installed them. Chi handled getting the counter-tops. The project took 3-4 days in a row. The workers were careful about cleaning up after themselves and removing junk each day, and the quality of the work was very good. The counter-tops look great. The back-splash is beautiful and nicely installed by Chi. The biggest problem with the project was waiting for the counter-tops from the supplier, which was not Chi’s fault at all. Then there was a second wait for a replacement counter-top that was incorrect—again, not Chi’s fault. Chi returned to finish up the project after the replacement counter-top was available and to take care of a short punch list, which took another day of work. The workers were polite, respectful, and careful, as was the project manager.A couple of minor issues came up—the garbage disposer was not properly connected to the dishwasher (I took care of it myself) and there is a slight nick in one of the countertops that could have been avoided (which we didn’t bother with because it was so trivial). That said, Chi would have fixed these minor items if we had asked, but we didn’t bother. Overall we were quite impressed by Chi’s reasonable price, responsiveness, quality, and service. We highly recommend them and would use them again for other remodeling projects.

Chi Renovation recently came in to replace my kitchen countertops with granite countertops. I felt that their prices were very reasonable. They helped me pick out a countertop that I feel matches the decor of my kitchen perfectly! Their guys were very clean and professional. They did a fantastic job.This is my second time around using these guys. The first time was to insulate my house. I was very pleased with their work and professionalism then and decided to try them again for the countertops. I am glad I did.I will definitely be calling them again for any future updates to my house.

Id recommend Chi Renovation & Design to anybody - and will preface my review with the note that I am in no way an easy customer.Our story: My fiancee and I recently purchased a 3 bed, 2 bath condo in downtown Evanston that was in need of some modernization. We hired CR&D to paint the bedrooms, install custom closet systems, custom window ledges, and put down ~600 feet of hardwood throughout the living room and hallways of the unit (as well as remove the existing laminate that the previous owners so graciously left behind).Design & Materials: We called these guys about 1 week before we closed on our place, as we closed on Aug 27 and needed to be out of our rented place by Sept 30. Larry (from the design team) arrived the day after we closed and gave the place a once - over, and then discussed wood options for the floors. We didnt come to a decision that day, so we scheduled a follow-up on September 4 where we looked at a few more flooring options, made a decision, and had Larry order the material on-the-spot. On September 5, Larry came back over with the project manager, Tom, for once final discussion prior to work starting.Work & Installation: The very next week (September 8), Tom and his crew arrived to begin painting. The work was done in a matter of days, and done well. After the painting was completed, we experienced an unfortunate lag in processing (not CR&Ds fault - it was Home Depot) for our floors, so we went a week without work being done. Tom and Larry kept us up-to-speed on the delayed material, removed our existing flooring, updated timelines accordingly, and reassured us that the work would be completed within our reasonably tight deadline. After a week of anxious waiting, the floors came in on September 19th, and Tom had his crew work all Saturday the 20th to complete the installation of the hardwoods. Coincidentally, on the same day, we had carpet installed by another company, and Toms guys worked seamlessly with the carpet folks to make sure that nobody interrupted the respective work going on in various rooms of the house. By the evening of Saturday, September 20, our work was completed and completed well- 10 days ahead of our move deadline and on budget.Issues/Problems: As far as a home improvement project goes, this one came with very minor hiccups. As stated, there was a processing delay in the wood from the vendor, which CR&D couldnt really do anything about. Beyond this, one threshold between our entryway hall and guest bathroom needed adjustment, as did a few structural mounts in our custom closets. Tom scheduled time immediately to fix the highlighted problems and was extremely attentive to our requests.Pricing: Very competitive and fair - youll be hard pressed to find anybody who hits their pricepoint & craftsmanship.Overall: These guys wont let you down. Larry did a great job helping us choose the design elements of our flooring, and Tom executed each arm of the project on time and with ultra-prompt communication and world-class professionalism. We are truly grateful for their hard work and will be hiring them again this spring for a kitchen re-design. A+

Not surprised to see a bunch of other 5 star ratings. We worked with Tom to get some plumbing and basement sealing done.

This company does not pay their subcontractors resulting in lien on property be aware before considering working or hiring.
