Went in to get a price repair to my computer, clearly informed the person what was wrong with supporting details that should have made it clear to a reasonable person that this was the problem and that I wanted a quote on a repair. He proceeded to tell me that, for $100, they would tell me what was wrong with my computer. Thanks for wasting my time.
I have been by the Sioux Falls Geek Squads on a couple of occasions and each time I felt rushed while trying to explain my problem with the Geek Squad staff. It’s the feeling you get when someone’s busy and don’t really feel like hearing you out. We spend over $8k a year at Best Buy and we also have Total Tech which we pay $200 a year. Every product we buy we always purchase an extended warranty. I think it’s time for us to start shopping with one of their competitors. I will say the Geek Squad that sets up TV’s and Appliances have far more professionalism than the in Geek Squad store personnel behind the counter. Maybe they need additional customer service training?!
These are not the Geek’s you are looking for.
I spoke with the geek squad online in chat, and asked what the cost would be to have the fan in my laptop cleaned. They advised me I would need to call the store directly to get that information. So I called, and went through all of the many prompts before I finally got to talk to a person who said they would need to transfer me to the Geek Squad, so I waited on hold for awhile. Finally someone came on the line, asked me a couple questions and then asked if I had a geek squad membership, which I replied no I didnt, and they hung up on me before I could get my question asked. So I called again, went through the whole thing again and got transferred back there, someone answered, and then hung up on me. Definitely not the way to earn my business. So now I will be finding somewhere else to take my laptop too. And any future business I might have had will also be going elsewhere.
I had the Geek Squad come switch my two TVs around and they were extremely professional, informative & kind and went the extra mile to explain how everything worked and made sure my picture & sound were perfect. I highly recommend them for all your technical needs!!
I had an appointment for 10:40am and they worked on a lady’s computer whose appointment was at 1:00pm. Then had to wait 20 minutes after my reservation. My problem was not solved and the employee did not ask if I needed the document saved before shutting down my computer in which I lost all my work on my thesis paper. Definitely would not recommend.
Fast affordable
I am paying insurance on my sons phone. He is a active 14 year old. His phone is dead, and I have been trying to reach Geek Squad on the phone and so far, no luck. This is a huge deal to me, since apparently,I can only set up an appointment over the phone. I work from 8 to 6 every day. I do not want to spend 2 hours of my precious family time waiting for a real person to pick up.
I brought my toaster into geek squad and they laughed at me because I forgot to plug the cord in. Also I dont own a toaster and I never visited Geek Squad. I would like to find out what a best buy is though. Sounds like they have good deals on things I might need such as a toaster.
I believe that many people arent well-enough aware of what is and its not covered, and thats for a number of reasons, but the Agents working there are well-meaning. Some are brilliant while others are certainly learning, but they mean the best.
I have had multiple desktops/laptops that I needed help with repairing, and Geek Squad was definitely the right choice due to how they may help resolve unnoticed problems, as well as help with the main problem. Also, Geek Squad is a group of dedicated individuals who help with malfunctions of most office appliances, go to a d**n cellphone repair store to get your phone fixed, buying a f***ing hard drive for any laptop does not void the warranty(it only becomes void if you actually try replacing the internal hard drive), and the whole toaster thing is overdone, trite, and copied from f***ing NFL bad lip reading.
Was charged $100.00 extra for having them mount my television over my fireplace even though it is dry wall. They didn’t tell me this until they came to my home. The charge was “drywall fireplace”. I could see if it was an actual fireplace with brick, this was a ridiculous charge. They did a good job but won’t be using them again. Scam.
Ok so I bought my Mac Pro a year ago from best buy and I got the 3year coverage because I have a toddler at home and well things happen. So today when I accidentally cracked my screen by closing it with the charger end between the screen and key board. Crap happens. But when I took it into get the screen fixed there agent Klumper started scaring me because there was a 50/50 chance that I would lose all my programs and get a new computer. I have more money in my programs then the whole computer. He told me I should buy a hard drive and replace it with the one in my computer. Which will wave my manufacturers warranty. Of course he didnt tell me that but I have better sense then that. So I took it to Mac pros and they filled me in that everything was fine and the new time machine backs up programs too! Since I always back up my computer daily I felt much better about letting best buy send my Mac to apple to repair it. Im also not thrilled that it takes two weeks just to do this because I have 2 jobs and they both rely on that computer. Agent Klumper was cold and he seemed to enjoy making me worry.
Way over priced unhelpful idiots
Dont buy the phone insurance.
I will never purchase this service again. It takes over an hour to get technical help. Or I could drag my computer and printer into the store they say
