I applied for an teachers position here at the YMCA and it was an horrible experience. I came to my job interview 30 minutes earlier in an uber and thinking I was doing a good thing but was pouring down raining outside, However the assistant Director Jesenta Wellington was yelling at me about being vaccinated however she never put it into thethe email that vaccination was a requirement, She made me stay outside in the rain until the Director said it was OK for me to come inside. When I was allowed into the building I was soaked and wet I felt so uncomfortable. I hope Jesenta Wellington learns from this experience to treat others with respect and furthermore be more professional in an workplace environment.
Great outdoor pool, friendly staff, make you feel welcome, kept clean and safe!
I go to this YMCA for private swim lessons for my daughter just because I like our instructor. Otherwise, I would use this crumbling facility. The building is very old and it is very poorly maintained. Recently, on multiple weekends, there was no hot water in the locker rooms. The hair dryer in the family room has been out of service since at least June 2018, and I have reported it so many times, but nobody bothers to take care of it.
Outstanding service! Outstanding staff!! Great summer camp programs at this location as well. We enjoy this Y.
I’ve been going to this facility gym for years. I use this place because it has a good price. Decent cardio machines and weight rooms. They have a fitness studio on the top floor. And a indoor and outdoor pool that I don’t use. Definitely recommend this facility to do workouts and swims.
I love the YMCA but this location has the worse facilities of any Y Ive ever been to and I have been to many. The locker rooms are small, cramped and poorly maintained and poorly cleaned. They have a very small gym which doubles as a cycling room and group exercise room.... The building is vintage something. One positive is they have an inside pool and a heated outside pool. I wonder if the people that run this branch have ever seen some of the nicer Ys on the east coast.
Great place to go if your body isnt young and buff. OK, the building is funky and old, but well maintained. But whats in it is terrific. The staff and programs are wonderful. The outdoor heated pool that stays open year round (unless weather is below freezing) is fabulous. The trainers are excellent, very experienced with out-of-shape boomers and older! And its a bargain.
It’s is a great pool because of all the programs and the pools sizes but has lots of camps that crowd and over take the pool. And the counselors tell my kids to leave the pool and go to a even more crowded pool
Executive gym. Their services are always amazing and the location is fantastic. Always impressed.
We do love the Y, but there are many improvements that would make the experience so much better. Better outdoor pool atmosphere, wider variety of classes, better communication with staff and structural improvements would enhance the environment.
Facilities are cramped into the building. Multiple rooms to go to for the various exercise equipment. Basketball gym is a joke- very small, poor lighting, etc.The facilities are not great, but hey, it was the closest Y for us as were visiting from Minnesota for the week. The first time we went there, everyone behind the desk were super nice and inviting us to the Y at Maryland. The second time we went, I was dropped of with 2 of my boys and I had no phone or money, just our Y cards. The lady behind the desk said, Nope since youre a member of a Y somewhere else, you can come by paying $10 / person. Are you sure?! We were here a couple days ago... Can you let us in this time? were stranded... Nope, sorry. $30 (for the 3 of us). Yikes! Thank you very little!
I think my favorite thing is that they have an outdoor pool open all year around. It only closes when the outdoor temp is below freezing, and swimming outdoors in the middle of winter is pretty awesome. The indoor pool can get a bit crowded during peak hours, but have always had a great time swimming w/ my kids. This is not a fancy gym, but they have good exercise equipment, and a lot of very nice people. They classes are good, including the classes for kids - the pee-wee sports coach was absolutely excellent at working with young kids. And they offer free day-care while you work out.It can be a bit rough around the edges, but if you are looking for a good family friendly workout space, its awesome. And they have a nice Sauna too.
I love all the YMCA because they do a lot for the community and offer a lot of classes for free if you have proper ID.
My mom and my sister and i we been members for 18 years and we love it and thats anther family to me everyone knows me
We cancelled our membership. The pool was always too crowded, and it was challenging finding gym equipment we could use. By far the worst experience ever was that repeatedly while I was changing clothes, there were young boys much too old to be in the womens locker room right there, gawking at women in the womens locker room!! There is another family changing room, but for some reason families dont use it, and nobody cares to correct this situation. What you dont have at this location is caring staff ensuring a good experience for all.
The staff and programs are wonderful.
Worst Y I have ever seen. Imaging working out in your living room with 15 other people. And they wanted to charge me $10 as an out of town Y member. Not a chance.
This is a great place for health and fitness. Very friendly staff
Extremely old and small. The worst Y I know. Not good !
The staff is always friendly and welcoming!
There are no slides or diving boards, and there isnt much to do at the pool except swim.
Is this related to the YMCA song
