The absolute most useless post office there is. USPS usually is horrid anyways, but this location definitely wins the worst customer service award. Packages were never on time or ever even went to the right place. If you have an appointment for a passport, fully expect them to completely ruin that idea by changing the appointment time. Shelbyville would actually benefit from them closing down.
I activated ahold mail but my departure was delayed for a day so I checked my mail an saw it had been delivered. I tried calling the Shelbyville PO several times but there was no answer. I filed an online complaint an requested to be called. A few days later I received an email assuring me the problem had been addressed and corrected. Before I left home I put a piece of 2 inch tape across the inside of my mailbox with a note stuck to the tape visible when you open the door. Yesterday there was 13 pieces of mail in the box BEHIND the note.saying when the hold mail was active
Visited on 4/30 to mail birthday package to Westmorland, TN. Guaranteed delivery next day. $9.95. Did not get. Traced it and this morning 5/2 at Gallatin, TN at 4:45 am. In transit. So do they deliver on Sunday? Can I get my money back I pd extra for? Who knows . Check on Monday to see what happens. Mailed Xmas present to him Dec. 29th, I arrived Jan. 30 and pkg arrived same day. 31 days later. Lol! What can you say. Sit back and wait I guess. Super friendly and efficient inside though. Update: package delivered late afternoon on May 3rd.
Dont expect to get your packages if you live in the country where dogs roam, even if they arent yours. The driver wont attempt to deliver.Then you will be told the policy is to honk in the driveway as their attempt but that must be at their discretion as that wont happen either. You have to go get your packages yourself.
I really dont think they communicate at all with carriers who deliver. Had a package that required signature, was delivered on a Friday at 10am. I missed it of course. So I go up to post office next day ( Saturday) to pick up package and apparently the item is still on carriers truck!? No re-delivery attempted.

I thought I lost a package over the weekend. I filed a claim through the 800 number Saturday. Received a call from Alyssa this morning. She was so nice and helpful. My package was found (at my neighbors in a new construction neighborhood) and she assures me I could expect accurate delivery moving forward. So impressed!!
We pay a company more to have a packaged rushed the post office has been told several times that my fenced in yard is secured. I work from home so my gates are always closed.. Still I have issues with them not leaving a package and now the holiday I still wont get the package. I wasted money to rush the package cause now it will be here under the standard shipping options... the packages that the post office delivers are not theirs to decide if they leave them if they dont. Especially when I have called and told the postmaster to leave my packages over my fence. I am home just working. The only time this would not work is signature required and the package Im expecting is not signature required . Just because the postman didnt want to get out of car and walk up to my fence is the reason it was not delivered.
I have had nothing but courteous service from the folks at this location even during busy times and holidays. Ive observed their interactions with people in the line and its the customer that is usually rude!
No one ever answers the phone!! Theres always a huge line!! Its almost impossible to ever get my mail on time!!! They are not helpful at all!!
The supervisor we spoke to about an incident with our mail seemed to care less. We pay these people for a service looks like they would be more compassionate.
Have tried to talk to the post master and was told he is busy..they gave me a direct number and know one answers..my soon to be ex has changed my address 4 times now and cant get anyone to help with this..
PATHETIC SERVICE. CALL CENTER IS USELESS, CANNOT GET ANYONE TO ANSWER CALLS TO LOCAL POST OFFICE. I GAVE A PACKAGE THAT GAS NIT BEEN DELIVERED FIR OVER 2 WEEKS AND THEY CANNOT LOCATE IT.
Please teach your carriers the specifications for a metered flat. We shipped a 4X8 package that was flexible, weighed under 1 oz, and was 3/8 thick as a 1 ounce flat. We were charged a total of $3.50 for a shipment that should have been $1. We know what we are doing, why does usps not know what it is doing. USPS costs our company, Zellajake Farm and Garden, about $10,000 per year in failed deliveries and overcharges. And local post offices like this one are perfect examples of rancid business practices gone wild.
We shipped 2.5 grams of seeds as a metered flat, basically, think of about 1 level teaspoon of coffee grounds being shipped in a 4X8 envelope. After evenly distributing the seed in the envelope, the package is about 3/8 thick, and the envelope, as a metered flat has to be less than 3/4 thick or less. This package was HALF the maximum thickness! We know what we are doing, we ship 200 packages per day, and this was easily within the specification requirements of usps..Usps charged our client the entire amount for a tracked package, rather tyhan the difference between a tracked package and a metered flat. So, after reimbursing our customer, we have paid twce for the shipping label, and a total of 3 times more for shipping than we owe. As long as usps is providing horrible service like this, not only are we leaving negative feedback for each occurance of wrong doing, but we are also trying to get our cusomers to leave appropriate feedback whenever usps does this. It is uncalled for. Deliver the mail, that is your job, this was well within the specs of a metered flat. Usps is horrible! The problem is, most of the clients that are charged twicw still think us at fault, as they believe a large company over our little mom and pop store, which is a sad state of affairs.
I have been very fortunate to have had great service both on the phone and in person. Especially when shipping care packages to my son overseas

If you are open until 4:30, you do realize that you have to answer your phone until you close right?Its ridiculous. Ive tried calling 4 times- and 2x ot those 4 someone has picked up and then immediately hung up.Super unprofessional.
The automated phone service is a joke. There seems to be no way to talk to an actual person ever you go through the same menu over and over and if what youre trying to do is not on the menu then you are SOL. As expensive as things are to get shipped you would think you would get better service and at least be able to talk to a person when you call.

Moved from another state and had to have my mail held for 2 weeks. The entire staff were polite, friendly and very helpful.

At home waiting for medical supplies in the mail. Only to see our substitute mail carrier sitting on truck step smoking a cigarette. Even took a picture, she then proceeded to get back in truck to continue her route after a 20 minutes smoke break

Most of the time they just wont pick up my outgoing mail I have to take it to a public mailbox myself I tried to call them about this but the man I spoke to was so rude and smug I ended hanging up on him.my flag had been up for two days and no one picked up my mail and today my flag was up all day and no one picked up my mail.this comes out of my taxes.and they are not doing their jobs.
