While trying to drive across the country I ran into some overheating issues with my car. I took it to several mechanics who gave me a car that only drove me another 30 - 200 miles before overheating again. It was a frustrating experience to keep getting a broken car back. When I called JB he diagnosed my problem right over the phone, a worn out radiator and placed an order for a replacement part while we were still on the phone! When I arrived the next day, he actually brought me back into the shop with him and explained the whole cooling system to me. We did a sniff test together to test the head gasket -- it passed -- confirming his diagnosis of a poor radiator. (Previous mechanics had replaced the thermostat, temp sensors, etc.) I was able to watch them take out the old, and put in the new. As a woman I really truly appreciated this because sometimes I cant even get a mechanic to verbally tell me what happened, as they fear I dont fully understand English or something -- then I cant properly communicate what was done to the next person. It felt reassuring being able to be a part of what work was being done to my car, especially after having so many failed attempts at fixing it (5 total!) I was able to complete the final 9 hours of my trip with no problems and no overheating! Thank you so much JB and crew -- Id literally be stuck on the side of the road without you!JB also shared with me that he has been working on cars since 1969, he clearly loves working on cars, is very knowledgeable, and will not just poke and hope. Only wish he wasnt 9 hours away, or Id go back in a flash.
