Our experience with our trip was one of our best fishing charter experience. Our captain (Mitch)was the best, even though he didn’t have a deckhand. Trying to do both jobs at one time, he did an amazing job. If anyone could pick a captain, he would be the one. He put us on fish, and a very friendly individual. Even if we would not have caught any for the day, the experience still would have been just as good. We give Dumper Dan and Mitch an A+.

I wish I could give our experience more than 5 stars. This was our first charter boat in the area. We definitely will come back next year. Everything ruins like a well oiled machine. Our skipper and firstmate were absolutely amazing and they gave us the greatest experience!

From start to finish the entire experience was above and beyond all expectations. The lodging was clean and modern, Captains and First Mates were friendly/knowledgeable and of course Dumper Dan is an AWESOME guy! Dumper Dan Charters surely earned a life long customer with me!!

Our experience was perfect! For all reviews, who say they dont want to catch as many fish as possible is absurd! Even with their plethora of knowledge, how can they guarantee that the fish will be biting. Youd need a crystal ball. I could hear them talking when we slowed catching fish in a certain area. They were speculating depth, location, and other fish jargon that I didnt understand, trying to troubleshoot their next move in hopes of finding more fish. We caught 10 really nice size coho, rainbow and lake trout and the excitement was second to none when a fish was on a line. They were like kids in a candy store and so enjoyable watching their passion, coupled with their patience, help, and professionalism. I have no idea what I am doing but they were very patient, encouraging, and accommodating. Loved the entire experience and would do it again in a heartbeat! Lots of laughs before, during and especially after our charter once we got to know Geo, Alex and Dan. They cleaned our fish quickly while we relaxed outside of the office, which has a bright and airy ambience. We saw the attached condos to the office. They are fully decorated, clean and a perfect place to stay before fishing or just because. I highly recommend Dumper Dan Charter Fishing. Super fun!!

Went to do a charter yesterday morning . Showed up with my crew 6 guys took the day off work. 4am charter to find out he canceled on us . Worst charter ever terrible communication. Waste of a day.

The Captains and crew are professionals here! Everybody has a bad day here n there! But any day spent fishing is a great day compared to any day at work! Right! 😁 So go out and have fun either way!Its fishing! Not always catching! Even if the fish are not cooperating the Captains and crew do their best to make it an enjoyable trip! Yes, iv seen them on their phones but I Ive been told, most of the time they are communicating with their network of friends out on the water, trying to give us the best experience possible.Sometimes the fish are cooperative and we leave with sore arms from reeling them in, other times we catch a few and have a good time anyway. Either way, $ well spent. Remember, BOATs are expensive (Bust Out Another Thousand... lol).Always remember to take care of the first mates! They realy do rely on the tips for their living. Captains realy do appreciate a lil something too, so take care them too if you can, especially if you had a good experience. If you have a good time tip them accordingly!I love getting out fishing with these guys any time I can! So go out with Dumper Dan Sportfishing... We went out here mid august and caught a ton of fish with two 20 plus pounders. The guides are super nice and are experienced. Our captain was very talkative and helped get the fish hooked. I would recommend this charter out of any other ones in Sheboygan.

We had a great time fishing .... Captain Dave and first mate Devin worked hard to get us our fish. We ended up with 10 in the boat; the darn fish just didnt play nice with us :-)

As others have mentioned the guides offer no personality, no conversation, like to play on their phones and just seemed really lazy. 6 of us on a boat and we each caught a fish and after that they pretty much put us away from fish so they wouldnt have to work anymore. When they make you prepay your tip thats what you would expect. We would have tipped anyway but the whole prepay or Ill throw a fit seems a little tacky. 2nd day it was too rough to fish but he doesnt bother to let you know. So you sit and wait and buy some water and snacks from his store still no mention of any cancellation. And then 20 minutes later you ask and find out the day is cancelled. Now its not their fault that its too rough to fish but a little courtesy...maybe? We emailed him after the trip about our entire experience with more detail than Im sharing here and no response. Of course I notice he does seem to reply to public reviews. So thats convenient and goes to show the character of this operation. Find another guide service if your going. Sheboygan is a cool place with lots of charter fishing opportunities. I would go back just not to this outfit.

The fishing guides were horrible. Lazy and on their phones almost the entire time. They expect you to tip BEFORE you go out so of course there is no incentive for them to actually put you on fish. Of many charter fishing trips this is by far the worst I have experienced. From check-in to check-out the entire process was a total joke. Seriously find another company to fish with. There are many good ones in the area and this isnt one of them.

First time with Dumper Dan and had great time and plan on doing it again. Only 2 of us on our boat, and big reason for going with Dan was his booking with only 2. Fishing was slow on our mid-day trip, however Captain Devon and mate Bailey worked hard the entire time trying to get fish on, changing lures, depth, etc. Finally connected with 1 lake trout each. Mine was nice and my friends was trophy class, 30lb range.

Had a great time fishing on June 3rd and 4th! The fishing was a little slow but the ones we caught were beauties. The capt. and 1st mate worked their tales off trying to get us on the fish. Maybe it was a good thing they were a little slow, my arms felt like they were about to fall off from the ones I cranked in!!!

We had guest coming from out of state and I called to find out how fishing would be in mid September. I was told that his crew would go out and find the fish. I called again 2 days before my trip and was informed that fishing was good. When I arrived for the trip, a little ahead of time, I talked with 2 captains and they said fishing was bad for the last 10 days. I tried to cancel the room and fishing trip but Dan said the room and the captain were ready and would not cancel the afternoon trip or the room but did cancel the morning trip that was booked. I was pressured to tip $100 before the trip even started. Fished for 5 hours the boat never left port area, not one bite $950 later. Captain and 1st mate were nice, room was large and clean. The fishing trip was not worth the money.

3 couples. We fished Thurs night and Fri am and got 9 fish. Captain Scott and First Mate Dave worked hard to find and catch fish. We had a great time! The condo at Blue Harbor was beautiful.Thanks again for a wonderful time. Well be back again next year.

Dan and crew are great. They work hard to find you fish. Very new and clean accommodations. I have fished a few charters, in different waters and Dumper Dans is the best I have fished with. We will be back.

Paid full price ($200+) for a nice morning boat ride.We asked Dan if there were any fish and he assured us there were.You could tell during the boat ride the Captain and the deckhand werent too excited about the fishing en-devour which was a red flag. They admitted that the last two trips both boats came back empty handed.You could tell they dont like to be the bearer of bad news, but the owner refuses to ownership.Im not sure the correct route is to charge full price, essentially knowing there wont be any catching. Will not return to said establishment.At least Blackwolf Run Golf and Packers game was a WIN!!!!

We have stayed in Dumper Dans condos. Dan is so easy to deal with and his condo was perfect. Such a great experience. Thank you. Plan on going fishing with his company this summer.

We booked a company outing with Dan and he over billed us from what he quoted at the Sports Show. When we pointed out the mistake, (backed by his own printed material) he refused to give us a credit. The really funny part is that he complained that we did not tip his staff well enough. Truth be told the first mate deserved nothing but I felt bad for the kid and flipped him a few bucks anyway. Theres a lot better options out there than these guys!

Well I must say Ive been to much better charter services! I didnt know if I paid for fishing or paid to learn how to troll in open water. Not to mention we had a mute for a deck hand. His father must of took his PlayStation away and made him get up prior to noon. Dont get me started on the captain. I never was more happy to have something end then that trip. Having a tooth pulled is about as enjoyable as the experience I had. Not to mention DamperDan screwed my boss out of $200. Go elsewhere!

The four of us had a nice time. We had five strikes but only three made it into the boat. We were one of the most successful boats this morning. When the action slowed to a stop, Captain Jerry and first mate Marcus kept changing lures to entice more strikes until it was time to head in. Thanks for a beautiful morning.

Everything about this charter was excellent. Good equipment, Captain and first mate worked to keep us on fish and lures in the water and were fun to fish with. One of our crew had physical limitations which they accommodated well. We got a three man limit. Thank you.

Full discloser; this is not a collective review of the whole group I was fishing with. It is only my opinion.I fished with Dumper Dan for the first time on June 21-22. The condo was very nice and clean, it was close to the dock and convenient, the captain and first mate were very nice. I gave the first mate a nice tip. We caught a few fish but I feel like there is a blatant strategy to not catch “too many” fish, therefore I gave 2 stars.I drove 6 hours one way, NOT for vacation, NOT to enjoy the beautiful town of Sheboygan, NOT to enjoy the amenities and food that is in walking distance of the harbor. I drove 6 hours one way to catch and bring home more than 2 fish a piece for the group I was with!We started in 150’ of water and immediately caught 2 Kings and 1 Koho. Then the captain put auto-pilot on out to 180’. We trolled South in 180’ for about an hour, then turned around and trolled back in 180’ for an hour and we picked up one Rainbow trout.Then we went back to the 150’ area where we started and picked up 3 nice salmon. Then it was time to wrap up and go back to shore.Here’s the reason for only 2 stars: My perception is that Dumper Dan has 6 boats that all need to catch “some” fish, therefore one boat can’t catch “them all” when you find a school of salmon. This is a very different concept than other charters that I have been on. When you catch 3 nice fish in short order in 150’ of water, you target that area and/or depth. You don’t immediately leave that area and go 30’ deeper. It seemed very odd to me and in my mind there is no other reason than the one I explained.To provide context, I read many responses from Dumper Dan to other people’s reviews, he sure accentuates the business around the convenience of the condos being close to the harbor, the Beautiful town of Sheboygan, the walking distance of food and amenities, etc. As I said before, I came to take fish home to eat, not for a vacation. Therefore, in my opinion, the fishing strategy could be better.

Ive been on several different charters all over lake Michigan and found the most success with Dumper Dans. I always recommend them to anyone who wants to fish for salmon, great location and awesome villas

Im one of Dumpers captains so Im somewhat biased when I rate him with 5 stars, but Ill tell you this: there has never been a group of captains and mates with the experience and know how that work harder and have the experience to get the job done. Dumper does not hire just anyone off of the street, you have to prove your fishing expertise and boat handling skills before youre even considered for the job. Once youve been hired, the learning doesnt stop. New techniques for catching fish are always being learned, along with the latest in fishing tackle and boat equipment. The boats are always in top-notch shape so youre assured of a safe trip, and the latest fishing gear is on board, most of the time before the public has it. In addition, Dumper runs around 1200 trips during the fishing season with his six boat fleet. That ensures that youll be on the fish .Ive been very happy working for Dumper Dan Charters, and Im sure youll be just as happy fishing with us.

Spent an amazingly fun girls weekend at Dumper Dans condo in Sheboygan. Condo had everything we needed: fireplace, big TVs, plenty of room to spread out and walking distance to shops, restaurants and Blue Harbor water park.

I booked a trip with Dumper Dic**ead (name we used for Mr. Wonderful as the trip unraveled) and it went from bad to worse. Dumper assured me wed be staying at the Blue Harbor Resport in a super nice 4 bedroom townhome. The morning of the trip, it rained horribly. Fishing got canceled and all of a sudden dumper became a scam artist. His other group must have canceled their trip due to weather - so now his lovely 400sqft dump fishing house became available for us! Arent we lucky! No more $600/night townhome. We get to stay in his dump. NOT WHAT WE AGREED TO but obviously would save him a boat load of money - the lies and threats began. Needless to say, that was the end of my tolerance with dumper Dic**ead. He charged me $200. I had to fight tooth and nail to get it back. My friends and I went to blue harbor, rented the most expensive place we could, partied it up in downtown Sheboygan, never went fishing, never went back. Moral of the story, dont trust this guy. Dont book lodging with him!*** I read your response. This tells me 2 things. A) You are so bad with technology that you dont even know how to search for my name in your email history. B) You screw over so many people that you are numb to this behavior. Im not going to call you. Im not going to discuss this. There is nothing to discuss. I left this review to warn future guests of yours. Thats all. Have a great season.

Was my first time to fish lake Michigan had a great time the crew was very professional would recommend them to anyone that wants a great time fishing.

First time ever salmon fishing....Capt. and First mate we had were fantastic....the next morning we met Dan to pay for p.o our charters and he was pissed about us not tipping the crew the evening before, however we had the same crew 9 hrs. later.... and then he bitched about if we tipped the fish cleaner or not... he did call the boats in an hour early due to fog, however we still had to pay full price, we didnt complain about that... We planned on tipping them after the 2nd trip and we exllained this to him, he then instructed us on how much it should be....thought it was tacky, and a bit arrogant....wont go back..DUMPED YOU DAN!!!.

Captain and firstmate were good. Very professional operations. Disappointed that a five hour charter was dock leaving to dock return. Had approximately only 4 hours of fishing for the price. Only my opinion.

They act like they own the whole lake. Very unprofessional. Would recommend anyone else.
