Great atmosphere and staff. Haircut was great although she missed some hairs! 😂 But overall it was great and very reasonable priced. Will be back for my next cut!

Have always had good luck with my cuts here. Prices seem to keep going up and a smallish parking area.

Keep in mind my hair is easy to cut so I cant speak to the efficacy of the stylists. But I will say that Ive never had a bad cut and I take whomever is available. I love the vibe of the shop (specifically West Seattle).

Appointment was at 4:45 arrived at 4:52 was told my appointment was canceled because not in there 5 minute window. This is after they canceled on me mid week 30 minutes prior to my appointment and last time I was there waited 20 minutes. I have been getting my haircut at various rudys locations for years and after the terrible customer service I’m good won’t be coming back. The rude person working the front desk trying to power trip over being 6 minutes late just lost you a long time customer. The haircuts honestly had become pretty overpriced so I guess i’ll thank him for making me take my money elsewhere.

This was my first haircut in many moons, and couldnt be more happy with Emys work. She was really great with the mess of a pandemic-mullet I had going on, and incredibly professional. I will absolutely be going here again. Oh, and the coffee shop next door is also a great ancillary benefit to going here.

Was badly cut by two different people here on my neck because both times the barber was rushing to finish within the 30 minute window they give you. Every time I come here the barber is late to the appointment & leaves parts of my hair uncut. Very unprofessional for the amount they charge. This place is pretty much an expensive super cuts. If you’re looking for a fade go literally anywhere else.

I love Rudy’s! Any time I have booked with a specific stylist or anyone it’s always been great! The people who work here are not afraid to go bold if that’s what you ask for! Or something subtle, classic, etc. I really hope the bankruptcy news isn’t altogether true, I love having this Rudy’s around when I need a haircut planned in advance or impromptu day of. In the world of hair and beauty maintenance $47 for a haircut is NOTHING! I have had $100+ haircuts, should have just gone to Rudy’s and indulged in a beautiful salon hair product and still saved some coin. Good music, good hairstylists, if you’re lucky there’s a cute dog AND coffee in the same building! Come give this place a visit & tip accordingly.

Have had decent cuts here but just recently they cancelled my appointment on me 1 hr before my scheduled time. The receptionist said they were closing early which seems odd if you have appointments booked.

Checked in for my 3:00 appt at 3:02 via text as instructed. After thinking they were running late I waited and finally called at 3:30 and was told that the guy who checks in was at lunch and they didn’t see my text. This seems like a major flaw in Rudy’s system and protocols. If that is how they treat their clients appointments I won’t be back.

The best thing about Rudy’s is the consistency. I have been going for about a year and whoever cuts my hair does a great job. No matter who you work with, you’re guaranteed a good communicator who works with you to find a style that you’ll love. That being said, Malibu is who you should work with.

Rudys is the original hipster barber shop in Seattle. With enough locations to cover most neighborhoods, including West Seattle, youre never too far away. They do walk-ins but online booking is a safer bet unless you have all the time in the world. Friends dont let friends go to hair salons!

I came in as a walk-in. I called before I did to make sure there was availability and 20 mins later I was sitting in a chair. I saw Desiree. She was super chill and cool and didn’t force conversation, which I really appreciated. She asked what I wanted and executed it to what I had in mind and more! I love my haircut. Like really really love my cut. I’ve always passed by Rudy’s around town and especially in WS. I’m so happy I came in and that they paired me with Desiree. I will definitely be back for more cuts from her and hopefully a color soon! Thanks guys :)

Liv cut my hair from shoulder length to a flippy undercut a few months ago, and as Ive been figuring out and ongoing look, shes made every option look great!

I have always had great customer service at every Rudys that Ive ever been to, and Ive been to a lot. The personalities and cutting styles are different, but when you lean on the staff, they are always golden. I have seen many of their stylists, but I saw Kelcie most recently and she was incredibly patient and detail oriented. Great cut.

A Good Barbershop Hindered by a Touch of Hipster HubrisIve been going to Rudys for years. The addition of a West Seattle location is a long-overdue and welcome one. The new store is large, clean, equipped for large amounts of traffic, and fairly straightforward. They offer military buzz cuts, short trims, long trims, beard trims, and coloring services. Average price for a haircut is probably about $40 for most people. Their stylists do a good job working with kids, if thats a concern for you. Their prices arent completely outrageous when compared to other mid-range to high-end barbershops, and the stylists are usually pretty friendly and straightforward people who arent afraid of some cussing and frank conversation for those who welcome it.However, if I had a complaint (and what review is complete without that?) it would be that the seating is very minimal (and not terribly comfortable), the parking situation is not great, and there are only ever a handful of stylists working and you never know how long your not an appointment is going to take (despite the fact that the store has about a dozen chairs).For those who have never been to a Rudys: you walk in and you get your haircut (seems simple); unless - of course - twenty other people called in ahead to put their name on The List; which is somehow different from an appointment, I guess, somehow. In which case, youll be sitting around for an hour, at least.Despite the weirdness with The List, I definitely recommend Rudys for just about anyone. Their stylists are knowledgable when it comes to hair products, and youll probably come away from it looking good, even if you leave it up to the stylist to choose your hairstyle.

Ok, so I had spent almost 2 years to grow out my hair just to barely shoulder length. Then I go in and get a lady- Sally, I honestly was extremely upset by what happened. She had cut off almost all my hair. NOT what I wanted, then she proceeded to try to TALK me into liking it. I wanted to cry, yes I sound petty but honestly thats just horrible service. For my facial structure and weight having this short of hair thats all choppy and looks like a bowl was placed on my head is horrible I already have self esteem issues and Im usually satisfied by my haircut till today, I recommend talking to the workers and finding someone who can truly do even the most simple hairstyles/cuts and focus on you rather than other people who arent their client. Will hopefully come back to a better skilled employee.

Just had a great hair cut this morning from Taryn. She gave a really nice wash beforehand and was able to cut my hair exactly how I wanted, even though Im never good at explaining it. She even had some other hair design ideas that she gave me to think about for next time. I enjoyed the conversation and the cut a lot. I will definitely be back.

Your experience will vary wildly depending on who youre seen by. They can all handle a buzz or a fade just fine, but if youre looking for color or a decent womens cut, be careful who you pick.

Good spot good stylists interesting music. Lots of chairs but still can be a wait for walk-ins, better to book ahead online/phone.

Amanda is my barber and has been for the past 2 years. She does such an amazing job that I will be ruined for barbers when I move. Whatever you style of hair, she will make you look amazing. I can’t recommend her enough.

Saturday, November 17, 2018Took my elderly uncle for a hot shave, something he had not experienced since 1989. I’m a Seattle Native and barbershop’s back in the day were chill, relaxing environments. Rudy’s is not that: music selection is jumping and too loud. Pace is jumping too. Cement floors are “chill” though. Hot shave was fantastic, but the noise prevented my uncle from relaxing. I grew up with Jimi but this establishment is far from hip.

They get my haircut right, every single time. I had issues with every other place I hit up in West Seattle, and Rudys was the best in all ways: cost, atmosphere, stylists, and a little connected coffee place. Since I moved to West Seattle, I dont get my haircut done anywhere else.

Came in for a beard trim and Cleora was awesome! Ive been to 4 different people at various shops in Seattle and she was hands down the best! Shes the first person who not only asked me what I was wanting done, but actually listened and followed through.

After years of going to crappy (and often overpriced) salons, I gave Rudys a try and have never looked back. They employ fun, skilled barbers, and I always leave pleased with the result. Free lollipops, too, if youre good!

Great and easy accessible location, friendly staff, ample free parking. Walls are still pretty bare but Im sure that will come with time. Im glad its staffed with tried and true hair stylists from other neighborhood Rudys!

Not really a barber shop, more of a salon using barber in its name so guys feel comfortable going there. Kind of spendy. Not quite salon pricing, but more than a traditional barber would charge. Quality is hit or miss depending on the stylist you get.

The stylists here are consistently friendly and give great haircuts. It’s a bit pricey but the quality is way better than the other chain shops so I think it’s worth the premium.

I had a style that I liked but it had grown out and I wanted a corrective color and I thought Izzy gave me the coolest looking blond with an additional color ever..And did not force me to over trim..Lots of compliments on the skill and clean lines of the color..And I liked squid the Chihuahua as well.

Arrived at 815 waited for 45 mins to be 1st only to have them open doors to the front and several ppl got ahead of me. Very disappointed in customer service and definitely not happy w my haircut. I got a bad haircut elsewhere and it was already short just needed to be fixed and trimmed ended up being a 3 almost 4 hour disappointment. I live Rudys but this is not how they do things at the others this was terrible

The cut looks fine... but was EXACTLY opposite of what I asked for. Dont cut things short when you say youre growing it out dont cut that.

Let there be no doubt, the hairdressers of Rudys will cut you! But that cut will be accompanied with pleasant, witty chatter and an excellent hairdo. This shop has particularly excellent service and you probably wont have to wait if youre a walk in customer. Dont overlook the amazing coffee nextdoor at Realfine, which is equally amazing.

This is a little tough, both the stylists I liked left without warning and the one filler stylist didnt connect with me on what I was looking for.

All depends on who you get. Ive had great, decent and bad haircuts. But price is right. Lesson: find someone there that you like, then make reservations.

Not impressed! I came in looking to get a fade, what I ended up with was a uneven high and tight. Felt like my barber or I should say hair dresser more like it rushed through my haircut, left uneven hair on my head, did not fade the line and lined me up crooked in the front. If you want a basic high and tight and need it done in 10min this is your place, but if your looking for a skilled barber who takes their time and knows how to cut hair its not this place.

Last time I went here my hair was cut horribly and I dont really want to go back. The first time was fine and they did ok on my kids hair but cut it too short.

I went in for a simple haircut, all over leave about 1 inch. I asked how much that would cost and they said a $32. Im normally happy with 5.99 GreatCuts, so Im about to walk out when she said, an all over same length cut is only $15. I say Im ok with all over same length and get seated. 4 mintues later I have a great haircut, and I go to pay. Its $32 dollars, I say just a minute ago they told me it would be $15. Im talking to the same lady that quoted me that. She talks to the hair designer and he says only buzzcuts are $15 and that because it was longer then 1/2 inch its a $32 haircut.Great haircut, but literally lied about the price. I will never go back and I hope anybody else that doesnt like getting lied to about price stay away as well.
