They are convenient because of their location, but you will certainly pay for it, and their bedside manner leaves something to be desired.Replaced power steering pump, and after that work the accessory belt was squealing. Paid them to replace the belt at cost, still didnt fix the issue. Took it to another shop after the problem got worse--turns out they put the power steering pulley on out of alignment. -_-
So grateful for the Hobbs team! Weve been taking our vehicles here for years. They have quality work, very reasonable rates and turnaround times, and most importantly they are honest and practical (e.g. if they think the cost of a repair is out of scale with the value of your car, theyll let you know ... before doing the work). So convenient here in QA, but I have friends who bring their cars from other parts of the city because of the consistent, reliable service. Highly recommend.
Best auto shop in town. Been going here a couple years now, always straightforward, great communication, friendly and laid back. Definitely recommend.
I love these guys! They have done stellar work on my vehicle and are super affordable. I dont know anything about cars so I always worry that a place could tell me all kinds of issues that dont really need to be fixed and I wouldnt know the difference. Hobbs is totally trustworthy. They have also checked on things on the spot for me if I have a minor issue I am worried about. Love them!
Very professional, they have always done great work at a decent price.
Tried, trusted and true. Have been taking our vehicles to Hobbs for over 25 years. Best customer service ever. Never disappointed.
Been going here for fifteen years, always prompt service with detailed explanation of whats going on with the car and how and why to fix it. David routinely balances repairs or new parts with the age and longevity of the car. A great experience all around.
They are great at communicating any issues with your car and are up front about their pricing. The work theyve on my car has been a positive experience
Honest mechanic, good price, didnt talk down to me or try to sell me a bunch of stuff
I work down the street from Hobbs, and one morning noticed I had a flat tire. I called and they were able to get to it the same day. They removed a nail from my tire, patched it, checked the air pressure in the rest of my tires and noted a few other things Ill need to get serviced on my car, all for under $30. They seem like nice guys... the people who have posted reviews about poor customer service must be super needy, because these guys were great! They are also recommended by AAA.
I brought my Subaru in for a 30k service, including a battery change and new tires. Dave and Loren were both very kind and friendly and they finished my car the same day I dropped it off. I have absolutely no complaints, as someone with anxiety I really appreciated having such a good experience!
Good advice and good work.
I have had highly questionable service both times I have taken my car to Hobbs. I will not be taking my car back. The first time I took my car here, it was because I had failed an emissions test. There was a broken camshaft censor, which was replaced by Hobbs. They not only charged me for the part and the labor, but an additional $135 because my vehicle failed the emissions test. This was a completely unnecessary charge for a service that they did not perform. When I brought this to their attention, they refused to waive the fee.My first bill was $428.The second time I went to Hobbs, it was for an oil change. This is a simple procedure on my car, and shouldve cost about $50.When I dropped off my car, an employee mentioned that the engine air filter would be replaced if necessary. I told him that it was just replaced, so it shouldnt be a problem. When I picked my car up from Hobbs, I found out that they had changed the engine air filter. I showed them the invoice from a shop that recorded it being changed 2200 miles ago. The Hobbs employee insisted that the filter was dirty and that I had been driving in dust and dirt (which was not true). On top of this charge, they replaced 2 lights that had gone out. I did not ask for this to be done, and I was not told that this was being done.My second bill was $123.In both of these instances, not only was I charged for services that I did not ask for, but I received customer service that was well below average.
Friendly and cooperating staff, prompt service. Their service fees are very competitive.
Hobbs is by far the most trustworthy shop I have found in town. Ive compared prices numerous times before deciding on Hobbs as well, and have not found a better price elsewhere. At this point, even if I did find a better price, I would entrust my 1999 Nissan Maxima with 286,000 miles to nobody else. These guys are great!
I live around the corner from this place, so my first time there was due to convenience. I was having an issue with the engine losing power. They addressed the issue on my initial visit, but when I drove the next day, my car was doing the same thing. It was slightly less severe, but still doing the same thing. I called the shop again and they told me to bring it back. They fit me into the schedule 30 minutes after calling, and had the issue totally resolved 2 hours later. They did not charge me at all for the second visit. Seem to be pretty good guys.
Refused to install provided parts even though they are OEM and not aftermarket. Looks like this place likes to mark up their aftermarket parts by about 300%. Avoid this place unless you like to pay 3 times what the parts actually cost.
Great service! Knowledgeable guys. Straight shooters.
Trustworthy & Honest.Great work.
Had a very good experience here with minor repairs and oil change. Dropped the car off, got the call and picked it up. Couldnt be happier.
Great service and great mechanics
The mechanic is an absolute jerk
