For anyone who is looking for assistance with their taxes, I strongly encourage that you DO NOT go see James Gatsby with Giant Tax Service. I had received a letter in the mail recently from the IRS stating that I owed some outstanding penalty fees from 2017 which I was extremely confused by seeing as how I had filed everything properly (or so I thought). After speaking with a representative of the IRS, I was able to determine that James filed my taxes a month late, resulting in these penalty fees. Fortunately, I was able to get the issue resolved on my own, however I wanted to share this experience in hopes that I could prevent someone else from encountering this same scenario. In addition, I found James’s customer service to be less than satisfactory as he was always extremely rude in each of our conversations. If you’re looking for help with your taxes in the future, I recommend you work with a TRUE professional, unlike Mr. James Gatsby.

I was referred to an accountant here from a friend and man... what a MISTAKE! At first everything was great.. I was getting a refund and I was extremely content. When I mentioned that I have contributed to a traditional IRA and the amount I was qualified to write off my income he told me that Roth contributions are only tax-deductible... WHAT?! I work in finance and I knew this was 100% completely false. Well, when I put your contributions in the section of ROTH in my spreadsheet your return gets higher.. is exactly what he said to me. His formulas in his spreadsheet were obviously incorrect. He then proceeded to tell me that I should move all of my traditional contributions to my Roth IRA... again... what?! Does he not know the tax implications and penalties I could have ran into If I took his advice? That is not even the worst part. We decided to hold off with filing until the next few days so I had time to take his advice. That following week I emailed him talking about my concerns about his advice and shared with him links to IRA tax laws and tax-deductible contributions. I told him I still want to file with him but would like to fix the issue of my IRA contributions. A few days went by and no response.. I then sent him a text and he said he would give me a call within an hour. No call back of course... I tried to call last Wednesday and he picked up and immediately said he had other clients on the line and he would call back.. no call back!? I couldnt believe that a professional would treat a client the way he treated me! I am happy I knew more about certain tax laws then he did or else I would have been screwed! Honestly I think he was embarrassed at first that he had no idea what he was talking about. I do NOT suggest going to James for your taxes.

I filled in April had some complications due to having had major surgery during previous year so needed to obtain information from IRS. James said they would call me in a week. After no call i made an appointment to come in again 3 weeks ago. Was assured that they will obtain the information and call in 1 week. Now it is June. Their phone number gives you the run around, you never get a representative and I havent heard from anyone.

Initially my experience with James was great. He found additional deductions and got us a much larger return than we expected for this year. Unfortunately he said we should do an amended return from last tear for a significant return. We did this and filed with them in February. It is now May 5th and we still have not received our return. i have tried unsuccessfully to track it on the IRS website and James has been no help in regards to finding the whereabouts of our return.

Awesome tax service. With TurboTax my refund was $450... I called them and sent them pictures of my W-2s and my information, shortly after I received a call back that said they would be able to get me over $2000! This was last year, so I will be returning to them to file for me again this year.

With Turbo Tax I was supposed to owe over $1,000. After I had a crappy experience with another tax consultant I was extremely hesitant to see James. After he thoroughly went through my potential tax write offs, I now received over $1,200 in returns. Ive never been more pleased and would recommend anyone to go see James after my experience.

Hello everyone!! I had the Best experience with James Garce Gatsby doing our taxes!! He helped us fix our taxes from 2014 & 2015 and not just that but we havent gotten tax returns for years now, thanks to this amazing guy we finally have gotten back taxes and now we dont owe nothing to the IRS!!!
