I don’t normally write reviews, but felt it was worth doing so due to a great experience at a car mechanic (not something I feel very often). I was extremely impressed with my service from Whitey’s Auto and especially Josh who followed up from start to finish. When I dropped the car off on Monday, he had all details confirmed and I didn’t have to repeat what the issue was again and all the details. I got home and in an hour I already had an update. By mid-day he told me the situation and was honest, and even said it wasn’t the best situation but gave me the options (again was honest). Car was fixed quickly and was ready when he said it would be. Then Caleb took the time to ensure I understood my bill over the phone (again very professional), and waited until a half hour past close as we both didn’t realize I couldn’t lock my keys in my car (since I had a spare)...felt bad! Again, as someone who works in high end customer service, I was very impressed. Glad my friend referred me here!

I have been brining my vehicles to Whiteys for years now. They have always done great work. Mechanics are knowledge and never screwed me over. Recently Josh worked on the breaks to my Toyota 4 Runner. He was able to work with me and my budget. Customer service was great by Josh! I have never had a bad experience here and highly recommend to anyone looking for good work at reasonable price.

The young man on the phone was extremely helpful and accommodating. He listened to my vehicle repair concerns, didnt rush me off the phone or make assumptions, and booked me for an appointment. Although this business is very busy and booked, surely because they have a great reputation, i wasnt able to make that appointment 3 days later. But will definitely keep this place in my back pocket for future!

Adrian was by far the most unpleasant customer service representative I’ve ever encountered. So bad I would never return to that shop despite the great work they did. He was short, trite and condescending to say the least. Honestly made the entire experience so vulgar

I have been to Whiteys off and on as I have moved around the valley these past years and the only reason I have not made them my only mechanic is distance. They price fairly and they dont charge if they feel their work is not billable or in my recent case they said that the car wash who caused my issues needs to fix their mistake for free. Honest people who do good work!

Jesse and the crew are AMAZING. From the first call, they were very honest with me and the expectations. I was having some transmission issues that a different mechanic quoted me at 3-5k, without even looking into the issues. However, upon checking in with Whiteys, they found the actual issue which was far less severe than the other mechanic shop was stating. ALWAYS get another opinion. Ive fallen back in love with my car due to it driving great and also knowing Ive found a reliable crew at Whiteys in case I run into another issue

Nice place, the mechanic was friendly and didnt push me to buy or fix things that didnt need to be fixed. It did take quite a bit of time for them to work on it, but theres lots to do in the area so it really wasnt that bad. Im bringing it back in after driving a few days to figure out the exact problem, since its the type of situation that needs a bit more time to diagnose.

When I came to Whiteys I had just had an awful experience with another auto repair shop. The team at Whiteys was awesome - very professional, timely and kind, and were able to get my car fixed quickly. Ill definitely be back!

Called them for a quote and they were incredibly transparent and honest about pricing, work involved, and whether or not something needed to be fixed. They actually suggested I delay on a repair since it wasnt really an issue (shows theyre honest). Will be using them to service all of our vehicles.

The people who work here were very rude to me. It was my first time and I didnt know you were supposed to leave your keys in the ignition. A man came out and rudely yelled at me Excuse ME, your supposed to leave your keys in the car!! Thats KINDA how it works... Sorry, you dont need to be rude about it, how am I supposed to know? There were no parking spaces and I had to squeeze my car in the back by reversing my car backwards. The man at the front desk was also grumpy, short with me, and seemed like he hated his life. Their prices are slightly above average, for a small repair shop. Place is kinda old and dirty. I would be concerned about them leaving customers cars with the keys inside. Not that I should be announcing to any potential thieves out there that they leave all customers keys inside the car in the ignition with the doors unlocked.

Great people, great service. Its a great feeling to drive away with confidence after having repairs done. Love that they have a key drop box so one can drop their car off at any time at night and not have to drive an iffy car during traffic hours.

Excellent service at reasonable prices.I had a dealer want to replace the entire skid plate on my truck for ~$400 when a couple of small clips broke off that held a small piece onto the skid plate.I brought it up to Whiteys when I brought it in for an oil change and asked if they could look at it and give me a second opinion. Whiteys ended up fixing it for free with a couple of clips and bolts that (while not factory) do the job just as well.I Highly reccomend them!

Great people. Dropped in for a emergency bike repair, they helped out with tools and even took care of the issue. Then, needed help with our AC which wasn’t working, called them up, Callum remembered us from the bike pit stop, and we dropped of car. What had been previously quoted by other shops as a new compressor, etc, Mark at Whitey’s duh deeper and found that it was only a bad relay in the compressor. $1,000+ job and Whitey’s honestly fixed it for just under $200. Found our new mechanic! Thanks guys.

I made an appointment 3 days in advance for a simple oil change and inspection. They told me it would take no longer than an hour. I dropped my car off and had a friend pick me up. I called them back an hour later to ask if it was ready and they said they didnt have time to look at it and want to keep it for the afternoon (5 hours later). Apparently they like overbooking appointments. I specifically took time off work for this and they wasted my day.

I came here after getting recommendations from a couple of different friends who did mention of how honest they are here. I needed an alignment, or so I thought. I dropped the car off and they called me a little later telling me the alignment is just fine, but tires were under inflated causing the pull and there is no charge! I did find out firsthand that Whiteys is honest, and its no joke! They could have totally sat on it, filled my tires and charged me for an alignment, I would have driven away happy too. I will definitely be bringing my cars back here in the future!

I found these guys on Google and brought my car to them based solely on their great reviews. They absolutely deserve every star theyve got, this shop is awesome, the prices are reasonable, and the guys are super nice. I am was pretty sure that auto shops like Whiteys couldnt exist, especially not in Scottsdale, but they proved me wrong!

They are amazing! Been going to Whiteys Auto Repair since moving to Scottsdale, and desperately needed to find a place to fix my car. I went to other shops where they quoted me things that I did not need. Whiteys was extremely honest and only does what is necessary for your car to run well. They also took care of a couple things for no cost a couple times when doing a regular checkup. I also had my trunk latch break and they fixed it at no cost. If I went to another shop, Im sure the other guys would have charged me hundreds for an easy fix. These guys are great, reliable and cost effective. Recommend for anyone needing repairs, maintenance or oil changes. Best in town and trustworthy!Thank you for all the hard work you guys do! The customers appreciate it.

Ive never, ever, even heard of a shop that is this good, quick, honest and up front. The first time I was in they not only diagnosed the issue but sent me off with no charge after finding the repair would be covered by a recall at the dealership. The second time I brought my truck in the experience was just as good, intake was quick and painless, they kept me informed on what they found and what needed to be fixed and did the work quickly. Cannot express how glad I am to have found such an amazing auto shop.

I absolutely LOVE this place. Picked them solely on their Yelp reviews and they have been wonderful to me. So accommodating and they take the stress out of car maintenance for me. They are reliable and trust worthy and I am so grateful I found them!

Whiteys stands behind their work. Period. My 1997 CR-V blew a head gasket and wound up with a warped block. I opted to have them order and install a used engine. A few weeks after the installation, the oil light came on. Long story short: It was eating oil. Probably bad rings. Whiteys took it back, ordered and installed another engine and made the whole thing right. It really wasnt their fault; their supplier shipped a bad engine. I have been doing business with them for more than 30 years and this was the only time I have had a major issue -- and it was resolved quickly. It only reinforced my faith in the business. They have always been completely professional, accurate and honest with me and my wife. They have a sterling reputation and they have earned it.

Meh. I dont see the hype. They charged me $41 for a conventional oil change on a tiny 1.5L engine. That seems overpriced. I made an appointment at 7AM when they open and they had me waiting outside their locked gate with my car running until 7:12AM, while they clearly saw me waiting. They had their gates locked with cars waiting and piling out into the road. Also, they literally have no where to park. Their parking lot has 3 tiny spaces and they cram ~50 cars in the back, its a nightmare to back out and park.

I couldnt describe how much I really appreciated in this auto shop. Whitey has been always amazing to me. Theyre legitimated and honest. Theyre always care about their customers and honest to everyone. I wish I could give them 10 stars. But unfortunately, they only have 5. :( Anyway, I definitely recommend this place to everyone. They said, they cant wait to come to this auto shop. But Some of my friends they were telling me that you are crazy, Kaw. You live in Phoenix and wasted your time driving all the way to Scottsdale. Whiteys is quite a breath of fresh air when it comes to auto repair service shop. Ive been taking my 4 vehicles to them for more than 6-yrs. now and I cant believe that at this time and age of dishonesty and abject cheats from a lot of alike services, theres a place in my midst where I can take my vehicle and expect an honest diagnosis of the problem and that nothing will be recommended for fixing or replacement when its not really necessary. Cost of labor and material, in my opinion are aligned to the prevailing rate of the area. Shawn at the front office is such a pleasant and accommodating guy, and Mark, one of their excellent Car Doctors who seemed to be the one who works on my vehicles most times-is always available to see me when I have questions . My interactions with some of the team members were nothing but positive-they show you courtesy and I feel they really care. Take your vehicle to Whiteys, experience it yourself and I bet you wouldnt be taking your vehicle to another shop again.

After a terrible experience at a dealership I headed here to get some work done that was recommended. Not only was it less than half the price I would have been charged they completed it in a reasonable amount of time and communicated clearly with me instead of making me do the heavily lifting. Despite it being out of my way for me I take my vehicles here. Highly recommended.

Best mechanics in Phoenix.

Honest, reliable and affordable. Weve been taking our cars to them for years. I had a truck that wouldnt start, got it push-started (thank you manual transmission). They could not re-create the problem, but thought it might be a fuel intake which was going to cost upwards of $500. They did not want to perform the fix though, since they werent 100% sure it would fix the problem. A less-honest shop would have just did the repair and charged me the $500. Good local shop. Very recommended.

After being ripped off $1,800 on AC repairs that never got repaired from another big name auto shop I decided to bring my truck here to Whiteys at the suggestion of some friends. They looked at the AC, told me what was needed to fix the AC correctly (after the other big name place screwed it up) and the cost. I was skeptical after having already lost $1,800 somewhere else but I borrowed the money and had Whiteys do the work. After I picked up my truck I was ready for the AC to go out again. After several days driving in this heat its still working! Whiteys has officially won me over as an auto repair shop I can actually trust. Needless to say, Ill be coming back here for all future repairs and maintenance. I now see why my friends raved about this place. While customer service is important (the owner, his wife and staff here are awesome by the way) the integrity and quality of work is equally important. This place has it all.

It was an great experience. I normally work on my own cars but I had a problem that I couldnt fix. Everyone was profession and friendly. Terrance, the person who worked on my car fixed it in an hour. He was awesome.

I have had numerous co-workers recommmend Whitey’s to others and myself. I had an older vehicle that we were getting ready to hand over to my teenage daughter that neeeded a bunch of work. They fixed my AC unit in my car and did it for a cheaper cost than another auto repair place. The mechanics were knowledgeable and explained what was wrong, and gave me a detailed invoice. Overall for a car repair in Phoenix I wouldnt go anywhere else.
