HONEST! HONEST! TRULY HONEST! AFFORDABLE! I took two of my automobiles to Car-X vs the dealer/local mechanic shop in the last month and I could not be happier!!!! No auto repair shop in my 32yrs of driving beat the service, personal attention and the quality of repairs that were made to my cars recently at the Schererville facility!! Jacob and the whole crew are simply out to do one thing, get you back on the road at an affordable price! Jacob was especially helpful explaining to me that my left front rotor on my Ford Escape was just warped. I didn’t need an entirely new brake job as a few others in the area told me before I was recommended to Car-X by my wife’s family. I was so impressed by the friendly and courteous attitude from the crew, I took my Toyota in 2 days later for brakes and Jacob again was beyond honest! The Toyota needed a simple brake adjustment in the rear drums vs new brakes which saved me hundreds of dollars!! These guys are just the BEST repair shop in the region/lake county Indiana by far from my experience!! Everything was explained in detail with care with attention to my questions. Jacob also took the time to explain all warranties and extra value options that were availalble to me as well! A really nice guy who is truly there to help! Lastly, would you believe they follow up a few days later to make sure I am still happy with my repairs? :) INCREDIBLE service that simply doesn’t seem to exist, especially with auto repair! Went in for fluid changes and to check a noise from the front end when turning the steering wheel. Was told that the front struts needed replacing. Had all the work done and the total was around $1400. I still have the front end noise but only occasionally and not as audible as before. Also the headliner above the driver side door looks like someone wiped their greasy hands all over it . Same with the inside door panel. Very unprofessional and I won’t be returning.

I had the pleasure of encountering Jacob Kokinda (store manager). He was beyond informative. I initially went in for an oil change. I was amazed at how reasonable their oil change prices were. I was, (no kidding), paying a little over double at jiffy lube in Griffith Indiana. Jacob actually physically took me to my car and showed me any and all possible things to keep an eye on for future repairs. He wasn’t trying to push any fixings on me, he just wanted me to be aware of my car and signs of future upkeep..

Car X in Schererville is awesome. The owner Jacob is so good to work with. My wife feels very comfortable talking to him about her car needs. She feels that he is super honest. She had to have a battery replaced last Wednesday. He took her right away in the afternoon and by closing time the car was ready. The battery cost was below other places like Walmart. It was a powerful 730 cranking amp battery with a great warranty.Jacobs helper Mike was awesome also, He did the work on her car. He was a pleasant, young man.Thank you guys. You were great. We will be back.

Called 10 mins after open and told them my brakes stopped working on the way to work. - Jacob, was the guys name, got me in first thing after open and they let me know the problem with visuals immediately. The techs here are great! I brought my car in on a Saturday morning knowing that my wheel hub bearing was probably about to completely fail. They worked with me to make sure I got it looked at even though they were busy. Ultimately, they found which one was failing and replaced it. It was a bit of a wait but totally worth it. They continually checked in with me while I waited and showed me everything they found wrong on my car. They were very polite and sharp! I thought I might need new breaks, but they told me I had more time on them. I honestly think that wouldnt happen at every shop. I know mechanics have taken advantage of my lack of knowledge before and taken my money even when they didnt have to. These guys were honest, I cant tell you how great that feels! By the way, my care sounded great after they replaced the bearing. It has been riding smooth and sounding great ever since. Thanks Car X!!!

I walked in to get a oil change I was in and out in 15 minutes. Jimmy the manager was most insightful and thorough with explaining to me the condition of my car. I stopped in here like right at close and the gentleman whose name I did not catch but he had a shaved head, helped me with my wiper. I tried tightening it myself but no luck. This place is amazing my mother had a issue with a tire that blew out.Jacob was very professional and helpful over the phone so that set the standard of what to expect when our vehicle was towed in.Jacob called us just to let us know that the vehicle had just arrived and they would start with a free inspection to ensure it was safe.When we arrived Jacob walked us out to the vehicle he had two different tires that meet our criteria of what we were looking for he also showed us the underneath the vehicle to show us it was safe.Update he even called to make sure our experience was great and if they could do anything different to make our stay more pleasant.I have never had this kind of experience with any other mechanical repair center, but do yourself a favor go see Jacob and crew for quality work and a exceptional customer service!!!!

Jacob was amazing. Typically you go to the car mechanic thinking it’s going to cost an arm and a leg. My husband thought we needed brakes, so when I got the call that we did NOT, in fact, need brakes I was thrilled! And even better was that Jacob told me there would be no charge for the inspection!!! I feel that some people might take advantage of someone thinking they would need work done and completing the work regardless just to make a buck! But that was not the case with Jacob! We will definitely return when we do need brakes!

The service here is wonderful. Car Minus, said that I needed a $447 repair to my vehicle. I took their written diagnosis to Car X. Car X did an inspection. Car X found the leak and Car X showed it to me. Car X fixed the problem for $11. Jacob and the professionals at Car X saved me from paying $447 for repairs that I DID NOT NEED! Ladies, Car X mechanics are mechanics we can trust.

Ive put of clearing check engine codes for months. The manager at CarX Jacob was extremely helpful along with his techs to clear out 5 codes. I just do not have time to do this myself...and I do not trust mechanics...dangerous combo. These guys are good, and communicate honesty. I will be back.

Jacob and his team did a wonderful job getting my car fixed. They were able to do a complete car diagnostic test and let me know what all was going on with the car. They gave me an estimate on the total cost of repairs and were able to get it done that same day. He didnt try and find things to fix that didnt need to be fixed and was completely honest about all the repairs. He called me a few times throughout the day to just let me know how it was going, which i really appreciated. He explained everything they did and why they did it. He even gave me a follow up call a few days later to just maks sure everything was running well. Will definitely be doing business with them again in rhe future.

Everyone seemed very pleasant and willing to help. The mechanic took my vehicle for a test drive shortly after checking in. There was only one ahead of me which the other mechanic was working on so I figured that my problem would be attended to fairly quickly. When the test drive was over the vehicle was put on the lift and inspected. The problem was found immediately. I figured that I would be notified of the repairs needed right away but instead I sat there for an hour before anything happened. Others came in and were taken care of before me. I sat there for 2+ hours for a half an hour repair. Granted the parts took 20 min. to get there after sitting for an hour waiting to get the results and repair costs. Sitting around waiting was grueling for me as I have cancer but managed to do so regardless.Why was there such a long wait for my vehicle diagnosis? No apologies or explanations given while waiting. The manager said he would call me in a few days to see how things are going....didnt happen! Thats okay cause thats not my usual place to go for my repairs anyway. I just happened to be in the neighborhood and had a problem needing immediate attention.

I had a Great experience at this location. I have had all of my cars serviced here as they are fair and honest with their pricing. I live on the north side of Chicago and travel to this location as I can trust that not only will the repair be done right but if they can’t fix it they will recommend someone TRUSTWORTHY to handle the problem.
