ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Brought my car for an oil change, and oil change was done. Simple as that, right? WRONG. They either forgot to attach or broke the engine splash shield (that plastic piece on the underbody under the engine). So, when I was driving home, I heard this awful scraping noise. Looked under my car and this piece was dragging on the pavement. Back I go the next day. Told them about it, and they were quick to fix it. Or so I thought. All they did was zip-tie it back in place. So, if you want shoddy, cost-cutting work done to your car, by all means, bring it here. Safe to say I wont be back. Unless, of course, I discover they messed something else up.

Scott Ayers and his wife, are animal lovers who run an honest family business for over 10 years. They helped me today with quality Routine service, oil change, radiator flush, and 4x4 service Including transfer case, front and rear differential Oil change. I appreciate them very much and would highly recommend them!

This automotive shop arent mechanics but parts changers. I took my vehicle in for a front deferential leak without diagnosing anything They let me know that it was just a seal. They replaced the axel seal I picked it up and my truck sat for a day before driving it. When I was leaving for work noticed a small amount of oil in the ground but figured it was residual from the existing leak.When I went to lunch I noticed the same spot from my driveway was on the floor at work. I immediately called the shop and was told to bring it back. They said oh you have a different problem what I did is fine so I replied with so you just replaced the seal and charged me without looking at it properly now im out $150. They referred me to a transmission shop to resolve the issue and no refund.Throw a dart at it and see if it works! I would never take my vehicle to these parts changers ever again nor will I Recommend anyone use them for any repairs. They are dishonest and they are just out to make a buck!

I went in thinking that either my starter was bad or that the alternator was shot. It turns out that it was simply lose cables to my battery. They fixed the wires and didnt charge me for it. They took great care of me and I will definitely be bringing my car back here!

I should start off by saying I NEVER write reviews but Ive never been so impressed and happy with a mechanic in my entire life! 5 star service all around! I live 3.5 hrs away and we had to have my car towed to them in the middle of the night. The next morning we came to find out the tow company sent my car to the wrong address and Scott was amazing. He literally went across the street and found my car and was able to get it to his shop saving us from having to get another tow! The service was so fast and efficient! Scott had my car done within a couple of hours just in time for us to get it after our bridal shower! The price was more than reasonable for all the work we had to have done! I would highly recommend Scott for any car needs! His customer service and efficiency was the best! Thank you Scott!!!

Horrible service. Took my car in because it was having issues with the engine and due to no code showing up the mechanic said he could not do anything. I asked him to drive around the car and see first hand what I was experiencing and he refused and sent us on our way saying I dont know what to tell you but be safe. When I took it into another place they notified me it was the transmission and were more then happy to fix.

The best place around. Very knowledgeable, very affordable. Quality work. Scott had great communication throughout the repair process. No pressure to fix more items. You only get the repairs needed. This is my new shop for everything. Take your car here and have no worries. Just a good honest shop.

These mechanics were absolutely wonderful. Scott was very honest and showed what the last oil change caused damage to as well as inform me the car is under warranty to have the catalytic converter fixed. They directed me to my cars dealership where I took it to get fixed for free. I will be returning to this auto shop in the future and advising others to use them as well. Thank you for being true and honest. So many mechanics will just cause more issues and drain your wallet.

My husband and I would never go to another mechanic, ever. You can truly what is needed from an automotive specialist. We were NEVER overcharged and NEVER told to do something we werent expecting or guilt tripped into extra work. Very affordable and Roy is really great to work with. I trust him completely and am glad I can say I have a mechanic who works with me instead of trying to drain me of $$. Very highly recommended.

My car broke down in the Ikea parking lot on a Sunday, and the owner stayed past his closing time to replace my alternator that afternoon. It was fast and he gave me a great price. Above and beyond service and cool fish tank as well!

I tried everywhere from Firestone on down; but no one could come close, to the quality of service and pricing at Express Auto Repair. This place was Aplus. I was looking for something open Sunday so I thought Id give them a try.. I got a full synthetic oil change and a rotation for 45$ out the door! Awesome and lo and behold my air filter he said was fine.. no trying to up charge and the owner to me seemed very honest and upfront. I will be taking all 3 of my vehicles here from now on. Because he’s in an industrial area he doesnt have the sky high rents and can do the same work way cheaper. Couldn’t be happier with the service and in and out in a reasonable time.

We took our Trailblazer there on this past Sunday. I told Scott what the problem seemed like. One of his mechanics took it for a drive with me in the vehicle to and said it’s probably a cv axel . So we left the vehicle there for them to inspect and waited for them to call me . Waited a few hours and he said to come and get it .So he explained that it was not the cv axel or hub bearing assembly and said my 4wheel drive didn’t work. I said it worked before we brought it here and actually used it too that morning. He said he could not fix it and we take it to another shop that specializes in transmissions.As I pulled out of his parking lot I tried 4x4 and it worked fine !! Now I start to wonder about this place!Took it to a mechanic in Elgin on Monday morning and told him the issues we were having with it and he drove with me to hear the noise and then inspected the vehicle. He determined that it was a hub bearing on passenger side of the vehicle and that my 4x4 worked great so no problem there .Funny thing is, Scott replaced that hub/wheel bearing last April, $400 job, and has a warranty for 24000 miles and 2 years, which ever comes first. So your telling me it’s a transmission problem when it is a part your shop did !!!! So I bought the exact same part as what he put in it last year and did it myself!!!Problem solved ! Now I’m just out $400 more dollars now !!Plus the part they put in was put incorrectly, they put a o ring on the hub where there should never be one and that caused the bearing not to seat correctly in the knuckle and that caused it to break !!!!I would never recommend anyone going there to get major work done and I definitely will not be going back there again for anything, even as simple as an oil change!If I could give them zero stars I would, they SUCK as professionals!

My bmw 3 series failed on emission test. It was due to faulty light turned on cluster. Took my car to express auto service. Showed it to Scott. He is a very honest man. He told me possibilities of faulty light and told me to change the fuel cap and it took care of the issue. I highly recommend them.

Very helpful, I did not pass Emissions test, they took care of it and today car passed test. Will be back when I need a full service repair shop.

Very unimpressed with how they handled a situation where my car broke down and was towed to their shop. Mechanic told us he did not want to try to find the problem with the car despite acknowledging that there was a problem with the car. He sent us on our way and told us to be careful despite the dangers of continuing to drive with our malfunctioning vehicle. Would not recommend towing your car to this shop in emergencies.

Ive been taking my Crown Vic here for almost 2 years (its September 2012 now) and I cannot recommend Scott and the guys here highly enough. They are that rare find in this business - an honest and fair shop. They shoot straight when diagnosing problems, do great work and charge a fair price. They also do a quick and economical oil change.

Ive been coming here for years for all auto need ranging from brake replacement, body work, window repair - you name it. As a single female, it can be difficult to find a trustworthy auto shop where it doesnt feel like youre getting ripped off. I always feel taken care of here. All the mechanics Ive encountered here are honest and will be upfront with what you need and what you dont need. Scott, the owner is a nice guy. I once heard him tell a potential customer that he could delay his brake change for another 5,000 miles to help him save money. Ive also been able to order my own parts (oxygen sensor) and had them install it to save money. I live in Chicago now but still make the hour journey to bring my car back when I need quality, truth worthy service.

This place is the best and I will certainly be returning to Express Auto as my go-to mechanic in the future. They did a great job on my brakes, were extremely honest, and didnt try to sell me on things that I didnt need (which I cant stand when places do). Scott, called and told me that I had one brake caliper that needed to be replaced, but that the other one looked ok and didnt need to be replaced. A lot of other places would have lied and said that both needed to be replaced. The other things is that when I called and told them that I was having trouble, they offered to have someone drive me home if needed. Its just very rare to find a mechanic like this anymore.
